Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is the in This League Fantasy Podcast network, in
This League Fantasy Baseball podcast online at in this League
dot com. Now here's your host, Bogman and the Welsh.
Speaker 2 (00:16):
What's up, friends, and welcome in. This is the in
This League Fantasy Baseball podcast. I am the Welsh, that
is Senior Bogman, and we're here for you talk about
all that is fantasy baseball and today specifically we are
honing in on some rest of season ranks. We are
recording this on May first, so we got brand new
month in front of us. I do rest of season
(00:37):
ranks on Fantasy Pro. So we are gonna look and
pick apart what I've got because you got this weird
dance of the now versus what's gonna happen in the future.
How do you put il guys in there? And just
what have you bought after the first month and how
much of that sample size works. So we're gonna look
at my positional ranks kind of across the board, and
Bogman's gonna pick out some others. We've got a couple voicemails.
(00:58):
We're not gonna even do a real segment. We only
got two things there and all the latest but hello,
Senior Bogman.
Speaker 3 (01:04):
Yeah, that's two times, senior. Someone is looking forward to
sinking to Mayo here. But it's May first, it's gonna
be maybe.
Speaker 2 (01:14):
I did it twice. Joe like didn't know why I
was doing that yesterday and I was like, buddy, it's
gonna be May, like we.
Speaker 3 (01:20):
Got it, gonna be May.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
But more importantly for you, though, May the fourth be
with You is.
Speaker 3 (01:25):
Coming right right, it is coming up. That's the national
holiday for Bogman. That's right. Well. And Or uh and
Or has got a weird release kit. I haven't watched
it yet. They're dropping like three episodes every Tuesday, and
it's gonna be just four tuesdays where they drop all
of them.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
I like that. I like that a lot.
Speaker 3 (01:40):
It's kind of a slow paced show, so I think
it makes more sense for that. But yeah, May the
fourth coming up. May fifth one of my favorite holidays
as well. Thinking to Mayo means nothing in most other countries,
it's just a reason to drink murder raitas here in America,
so we.
Speaker 2 (01:57):
Have quite a few of those. We're like, you know,
happy to say Patrick Day and it's like green beer happy.
Speaker 4 (02:03):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:03):
In Ireland, they're like huh. In Mexico, they're like huh, Turkeys. Yeah,
we have a lot of food.
Speaker 2 (02:09):
Whatever we can do to consume food or more specifically alcohol. Ironically,
I say that where I'm the the guy that does
the What do I do White Russians on Thanksgiving?
Speaker 1 (02:19):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (02:20):
I mean I I celebrate. I recognize National Cheeseburger Day
every single time that it's on a holiday, no matter
what country is celebrating it.
Speaker 2 (02:28):
So have you seen my I don't have it in here?
Have you seen my? I have now the Corpus CHRISTI
whataburger hat?
Speaker 4 (02:34):
Have you seen? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (02:35):
I've had that for a while. Yeah you have that too.
My our boy bar which went there and he sent
me a bunch of the stuff from from a while ago. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:45):
Yeah, it's like my new favorite hat, you know, one
of the few that my daughter like. I'm actually wearing
my favorite hat. This is the one the dog ate.
Have you seen that?
Speaker 3 (02:52):
Look at that? Oh? I didn't see that? Now.
Speaker 2 (02:54):
Yeah, he just destroyed a bunch of the hats. So
I can wear this one backwards but not forwards. But
that one is unconn So we got some news and notes,
We got some weird closer situations in Arizona. We have
got some injuries out there. We also had I mean,
we didn't really talk about it on anything I've done today.
We can kind of do it here, but likes the
(03:15):
other thing in Pittsburgh, the oh yeah, oh my god.
But like more news came out that I guess he
was like obliterated drunk, Like he was so drunk he
spilled beer on himself. He took his shirt off, and
then I.
Speaker 3 (03:28):
Guess he got that drunk in a baseball game.
Speaker 2 (03:31):
Someone took a picture I think of like the people
he was with were like like passed out. Like I
think it was bad, bad drunk. And if people haven't
seen it, it's like super scary video. It literally looks
like he jumps over and people were thinking other bad things. Well,
but I'm saying, like it looks like he does it
on purpose, like that was the goal. But he's just
so drunk where he was, you know, he just jumped
(03:53):
up in excitement and it went over and it was
it was just just a crazy video, really hard to see.
Shelton was talking about it was kind of emotional and
it's just one of the weirder scenes.
Speaker 3 (04:04):
Like he watched it happen, and everybody's like why we
was top of the game, Like a lot of the
players didn't see it happen, and ONEO Cruz was like
pointing out and saying, no, no, it was over there.
I saw it, and yeah, awful, Hopefully it's gonna be
all right. But also, you know, if you go into
a game, let's not get so drunk that you have
(04:25):
no idea where you are. You can't keep your wits
about you. I mean I just never understood that. Like
I was in my twenties at one point every weekend
was you know, let's go out and get absolutely smashed, right,
but let's let's let's keep that at home.
Speaker 2 (04:42):
Well, I told you, I actually this is I've been
drink for four months, I guess since January first, I've
been completely you know.
Speaker 3 (04:50):
Straight edge Welsh, Yes, straight edge Welsh.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
Just it also like you just don't need this stuff.
But I have the fear of like blacking out is
something real, Like I just like I don't like that
feeling of like a version of you exists in the
world where you don't know what's going on, Like I
don't know what that version looks like. Yeah, I mean
might not be a good version.
Speaker 3 (05:13):
Yeah. I have only time traveled one.
Speaker 2 (05:17):
Time, so I don't want to time travel.
Speaker 3 (05:19):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (05:19):
No thing, Yeah, very weird thing that kind of centered
around baseball. But I will get into the latest stuff
that is around. Want to remind you guys though, in
this league dot com on the Patreon it doesn't matter
as much as it used to because Patreon does it
different now where they just like when you sign up,
that's your thirty days. But it's a nice reminder first
of the month, come and hang out with us. Just
(05:40):
because baseball is going on doesn't mean it's done. Prospect
five hundred, Dynasty five hundred. I also have the weekly sheet.
We didn't do it last week, done it every other one.
It'll be back this week of top pickups, Streamers, Prospects.
I have written stuff in it. There's a lot of
value into that for the n season. Plus we got
the group means and that's just baseball. We got others sports.
You guys are important what we do, so check out.
Speaker 3 (06:03):
I just finished up over four hundred players for Dynasty
ranks for crazy so I did. We've got PPR super
flex and by position all on there. I've got rookie
rankings on our Patreon as well. Redraft coming out probably Monday,
Friday or Monday, uh this week coming up here, so
IDP rankings shortly after that. So all kinds of rankings
(06:26):
going on for those of you that are also in
football prep season.
Speaker 2 (06:30):
Yeah, show some love to the boys in this league
dot com. Come and sign up today, h five buck
entry for like all these sheets and stuff we talk about,
the ten buck marker is essentially in our discord. Also,
it's our community, it's our groupy rooms, lots of different rooms,
sports and stuff like that. Love to have you guys,
Thank you for the sport in this league dot com. Okay,
(06:52):
Mike Trout got hurt. Let's hear it. No way, let's
see yup there it is. Let's see. It's not the
thing though. It's not the it's not the exactly, it's
not the spine, it's not the back. It was the knee.
He came up.
Speaker 3 (07:08):
That makes it much better then? Well no, but it
was like he's already been hurt with it's a new thing.
That's great.
Speaker 2 (07:13):
Okay, I mean, I guess you could look at it
like that. I would say at this point, anything that
isn't related into his back to me is kind of
a positive. He came in real hard. He was running
out the gates real hard to the base, hit the
bass hard, came out. I believe he came back out
after he was taken out of the game. Joey Dell
came in for him. What's this do for you? Is
there anything here? Because Joe, Joe is having a big
(07:35):
old you know, Joe, I told you so put him
on the i L.
Speaker 3 (07:40):
Yet, like, let's let's relax. Yeah, I mean, if he
doesn't play the next couple of games and then they
take him on the IL, it's like, here we go.
Speaker 2 (07:48):
But even they put him on the GEL for fifteen days,
that's not the worst thing. They took him out for
precautionary reasons. He's gonna sit and he'll get back in
I think in a day or Joe, or if they
put him on the i L, it's just like, let's
just give him ten days because he has gotten hurt.
Speaker 3 (08:02):
Yeah, I mean that might be it. So there's no
reason to panic right now. Like you said, it isn't
the spinal thing. It is kind of funny. It's like, oh, well,
it's not the spine. It's not the hamstring. It's not
the whatever. It's like, yeah, he has all these other
things and then a new one. It just sounds funny
hearing it presented that way. But yeah, it's it's not
a major injury. He was removed from the game. They
(08:24):
didn't immediately put him on the il. They're not saying
that this is a long term issue at all. So
you know, it's it's a nothing burger if he plays
in the next game, an absolute nothing burger.
Speaker 4 (08:35):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (08:35):
Do they play today, No, they.
Speaker 3 (08:37):
Don't, So they'll play tomorrow and we'll see if he's
in the lineup tomorrow.
Speaker 4 (08:40):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (08:40):
I think I kind of think he's gonna be. I mean,
you know, I say that, and he's gonna go on
the aisle. But like, I kind of think I'll just
be in the lineup tomorrow. But I guess it does
break it. It forces everybody's brains a little bit, for
you know, for people like Joe that are like our
tolders or I told you so, blah blah blah, and
it's like, okay, maybe. But what I also think it
reiterates even more is that if you are a I
need to trade Mike Trout. It's even worse. The time,
(09:02):
he's not hitting for average and he just had a
knee scare. Now everybody's going to be way more cautious.
I personally think it might be a time to buy
him because I think his cost is going to be
pretty damn low. I'm a little bit of a massochist.
But if you, if you're a cell minded person like Bogman,
I think you need to wait, and you need for
(09:23):
him to get out of the slump and be away
from this knee injury. For me, I think there is
a buying opportunity where the of what you pay might
not be detrimental to the risk that he carries.
Speaker 3 (09:35):
Listen, I think, wherever you are, you were coming into
the season on Mike Trout, nothing has changed, right. I
think if you are like me and you never wanted him,
maybe you took him because he was just going too low.
Someone offers you something decent for him, take it and run.
But if you like Mike Trout and you see everybody
(09:55):
freaking out the Joey P's losing it about, you know,
him stepping on the bag weird and coming out of
a game, then go get him. You know.
Speaker 2 (10:03):
I think if I can move Cedric Mullins to get
Trout like I would do that, Like that's something I'm
comfortable doing.
Speaker 3 (10:08):
Yeah you are, I'm not.
Speaker 2 (10:10):
Would you trade? Would you trade your tr Readrick Mullins
and yeah, yeah, and Arbeat I would.
Speaker 3 (10:17):
Cedric is hitting. I know he's a player right now,
Like I don't know if it continues, but I know
he's going to be on the field. I don't know
about Mike Trout and he's not even hitting right now.
So you know, a guy that's not hitting and hurt,
I'll take the hot guy for him in most cases. Look,
Mike Trout is close to the end of the road here.
(10:37):
I'm you know, uh, this is how we treat these
elderly players. And you know he has a I mean,
he has a chronic back issue anyway, so when is
that going to crop up after this knee thing. I'm
just out on the Mike Trout business moving forward. So
I hope he proves me wrong. I would love to
be back in. Go hit to eighty for the rest
of the year, bring that average up and don't go
(10:58):
on the I l great, I'll be don't you think
forward the Mike Trout stuff. But I just don't think
that's gonna happen.
Speaker 2 (11:03):
Don't you think you would be better suited though, to
wait out that he gets back into games and he
starts hitting, to then trade him then to take an
offer like tomorrow on him.
Speaker 3 (11:14):
I mean, that's assuming he's gonna get back and he's
gonna stay healthy. I just don't know if that's gonna happen.
And when is he gonna start hitting? How long is
that going to be another Let's say he misses two weeks. Okay,
now we're six weeks in.
Speaker 2 (11:27):
Well, the same question I would throw out, though, if
he's out for two weeks, do you think it's the
best to trade him while he's hurt and the offer
of what you could get then when he comes back.
Speaker 3 (11:35):
I mean, listen, I don't have to do this because
I don't have him on any of my teams because
I was avoiding him starting anyway. But I would say
just what I said, I don't like him. If someone
is offering me something for him, now that's fine, that's
of equal value to Mike Trout before the season started,
then yes I'm taking it. If you offered me Cedric
Mullins for Mike Trout, yes I am taking Uh you
(11:58):
can get more if you wait and he comes back.
But that's two IFFs if he comes back quickly, if
he starts hitting real quickly. So I don't want my
two whiffs. Give me Cedric Mullins. I'll take it.
Speaker 2 (12:10):
IF's equal butts and then everything's chaotic, So gats. Let's
talk about the Arizona.
Speaker 3 (12:17):
I like your equation there? Can you write it out?
Is that any equal mc squares? Is that? What that is? Well,
that's equal maybe plus two and micro Croft's good.
Speaker 2 (12:26):
Now, I tell you my kid, my son, he's like
a little like math prodigy. I say, he's doing college math.
Speaker 3 (12:32):
I think he's just smarter than you. I think I
know if he's a prodigy, but he's just smarter than you.
Speaker 2 (12:37):
From a math perspective. No, that's mean question. He's mind you.
He's twelve years old, he's he's registered at ASU right
now doing math. He's doing a math class, a college
math class right now, which is ridiculous. But my point
is I don't think I think the equation I gave
you is one I could solve. Probably not him. When
we talk about butts and gots, I'm not going to
bring that to him.
Speaker 3 (12:57):
If anyone can solve your weird brain equations.
Speaker 2 (13:02):
Brain.
Speaker 3 (13:02):
It's like Welsh math. It's like girl math or boy math,
right like or just.
Speaker 2 (13:06):
It's alien math at this point. All right, so dimonbacks,
let's tart a by the time backs for a second.
There's actually a lot with it. Zach Allen pitched today.
He looked pretty good. He looked more vintagey.
Speaker 3 (13:20):
You can do better than that.
Speaker 2 (13:21):
He looked awesome, okay, but he's still super inconsistent. His
fastball was it was a bit over fifty percent. Still
not where I want to get with it. But those
guys didn't eating up his curve. They were eating up
his curve today.
Speaker 3 (13:32):
Well, he couldn't get it over the plate. And uh,
he was starting to get pissed because Herrera was calling
it too much. And you could see him shaking off
Herrara shaking off because Hereic caught game after.
Speaker 2 (13:43):
He also got squeezed a little bit. He threw a
curveball that was one hundred percent every ounce of the
ball was in the zone and theump didn't give him
the call, and I was just like, abs stuff, It's
just like I can't get here soon enough. But he
looked he looked better, But I also think some of
the results were from a lot more like high swinging
stuff and I'm not like completely sold, but this one
isn't necessarily about Zach Gallan good positive start, that's great.
(14:04):
I'm probably trying to sell him the closer situation. I
don't know if you saw this. Justin Martinez rough last
night gets taken out, you know, hair of their Chinny
Tensin down five miles per hour on his sinker and
three miles per hour in his splitter. After the game,
our boy Gambo gets on Twitter and starts bashing how
(14:27):
he's not ready to be a closer, and I'll hat
tip to I think it's Dalton Peely, who's a Diamondback
fan with like John Boy, and he was like Gambo,
like he's clearly hurt. What are you talking about? And
Gama just kind of kurtailed around it, and I was like,
dam well, you got caught, dude, Like what do you
You're down five miles per hour, he already was injured.
(14:49):
It wasn't looking good. He's clearly out. And then what
do they do today? They put him on the il.
Justin Martinez is out. We also did get good news
that Aj Puck isn't going to be out for long.
He got put on the sixty day. He can't even
throw for three weeks. The Diamondbacks out both of their
top two relievers for a bit of time. I think
Martinez is going to be out more than the fourteen
(15:10):
day or whatever, fifteen days.
Speaker 3 (15:12):
I think he misses a month. He was overworked for
the first month of the season, wholly and completely because
AJ Puck got hurt as well because he was overworked.
You know, Tori is just mismanaging this bullpen a little
bit right now. And for I remember I was watching
the game the other day and I was like, Okay,
(15:32):
well here comes Justin Martinez. Why though they said he's
probably back tomorrow, but it was a close game, they
put him in. He got it the next day. I mean,
but he looks like I guess the only way I
can say to describe how he looks on the mound
is sad, which is weird, you know what I mean.
Like he just looks like he's not having a good time.
He's clearly hurt. Like you said, he's been overworked, he's
(15:55):
worn out. He's going to get I think you're right.
I think he's gonna get a month on. Yeah, same
thing with it. I mean Buck can't even throw from.
Speaker 2 (16:04):
You can throw for three weeks and then he's an
after start, So you are down the top two guys.
Speaker 4 (16:08):
Now.
Speaker 2 (16:08):
The most obvious thing that popped up, and you and
I have like a slight disagreement, but it's still in
the same general range of it that I've surprisingly, I've
been very pro Shelby Miller, and I've been talking about
him for about a month on Fantasy Pros and that, like, listen,
his fastball in three weeks or something, but his fastball
is tracking out as one of the better fastballs. It's
so deceptive right now, he's got his secondaries and he's
(16:30):
has one blip on his radar so far this season
that he legitimately might get a look. But Lavello had
said before the season started that Ginkle was in the
same vein of Justin Martinez and Puck Ginkle's back. Yesterday
they went and Ginkle Shelby Martinez when they were behind
trying to play back. Today, I was live streaming Twitch
(16:52):
dot tv slash in this league and kind of noticed
and thought, you know, I think there's a real possibility
today they might go Ginkle in the eighth and Shelby
and the ninth, and that could be what is moving forward.
That's exactly what they did. Ginkle was not great, Shelby
was incredible. But the caveat to me and this being
all about me being right or whatever is your correctness,
(17:15):
that they also put Ginkle in in the very high
leveragy area where he was going up against I think
like Lindor and So hit a bomb off of him,
and he put both of those guys on base by
the way, and got out of a huge gam that
he put himself in. So I think that Shelby Miller
is going to be the primary closer, and he is
good for about a month of saves. You think that
(17:38):
he might Ginkle might be more the fireman, which would
lead to both of them getting save opportunities. Yeah, they're
probably both worth some form of speculation over the next month,
while Martinez or So is probably going to be out.
I just lean a little bit more to Shelby, but
Ginkle does have history doing it. But Shelby got the
save today.
Speaker 3 (17:55):
I think you're probably right in the fact that I
think Miller gets more saves over the next month while
these guys are out while JD is out or Justin
Martinez is out and while Puck is out. I think that, yeah,
Shelby Miller probably gets more saves. But I do think
it's going to be when you get to the seventh, eighth,
and ninth innings. Ginkle comes in when the top of
the order comes up whenever that is scheduled. If it's
(18:17):
for the ninth, it'll be the ninth. If it's for
the seventh, it'll be the seventh. So I think he
is a fireman role, which means he'll get saves should
the top of the lineup come up in the ninth.
But also it'll be one of those things where, Okay,
you put in whoever in the eighth, you put in
Ryan Thompson the eighth, he walks the eighth hitter, and
(18:38):
the ninth hitter, well, now here comes Kevin Ginkle to
get out of the two guys on base. Nobody out
jam with the top of the lineup like Ginkle will
come into that situation as well. So I just don't
think it's straight Shelby's the closer, but we'll see. It
could be that way. But the bullpen is very screwy, right,
now because it's been totally overtaxt and overworked.
Speaker 2 (19:01):
But if you're looking for speculative saves, the market has
opened up with guys like Luke Weaver, bednar Is Back,
Shelby and Ginkle, but might both potentially be options. I mean,
there are some guys out there even throwing out do
you want another speculative One I'm gonna throw to some
people is that Chris Martin might be an option because
Luke Jackson just got obliterated, has given up runs in
(19:22):
three of his last four games, and they might move
to Chris Martin. Plus, I think that's exactly what I
said on the stream today, the Rangers should trade for Hellsley.
The Reds also optioned Alexis Diaz and now Emilio Pagan
looks like the guy, and then Emmanuel Classe got the
save opportunity on Wednesday. So there's a lot of closer
market stuff that's going on out there. But you know,
(19:44):
between like Pegone and Shelby, slash of Ginkle, like, there's
a couple save options Luke Weaver. Also in the gigs,
there's a lot of volatility.
Speaker 3 (19:53):
Who's the kid that got the close or save for
the Rockies the other night. Agnos zach Agno zach Agne.
Speaker 2 (20:00):
Okay, yeah, I mean.
Speaker 3 (20:01):
I mean, not one month, They've won five games.
Speaker 2 (20:04):
Yeah, what are you gonna get one a month? So
maybe if you want to do a Rocky one, but
I don't. He's at the bottom of the list of everybody.
Speaker 3 (20:09):
I mean, you know, they're deep leagues. I just I
just saw it happen and I was like, who the
hell is this guy? So it's him and Halverson and
Jake Byrd are all kind of.
Speaker 2 (20:19):
Yeah, fighting for seven total saves the whole season.
Speaker 3 (20:23):
I mean they are on pace to win, like it's
literally like less than thirty games.
Speaker 2 (20:27):
It's ridiculous. Crazy injury updates on two big guys since
we're talking about the Diamonbacks. Cautel Marte, it looks like
he's going to be there for the Philly series. They're
even maybe looming like oh maybe the end of the
Philly Series. I think he's flying out and he's going
to be out there for the start of it, maybe
Saturday at Worse. So Kaitel should be back. Also, Jackson
Merrill I was at the Tuesday night game. I think
(20:50):
it was his last six in is spring training. He
played seven innings and he had five at bats. He
was running around. From what I'm told, it's the Monday series,
so he'll be back on Monday. Jake Cronenworth just came
out here. He's a little bit further behind, but you're
gonna get Merrill back here very shortly. We're gonna get
more injuries. But a couple breakdowny things I want to
(21:10):
throw out. There are three really interesting pitchers today that
went down or between. I guess like today and yesterday.
One was actually let's start with these two. These were
the two yesterday ones. Lucas Gioledo and Tony Gonsolin both
came back and both were pretty damn good bugs. Lucas
Gioledo specifically, this is the one I want to pull
(21:32):
up if I can ever find it. Lucas Gioledo ends
up on the box where he had nine swing and whiffs,
nothing crazy, went six, struck out seven, walked to, gave
up three, and runs to give up quite a few
hard to hit balls, but it kind of looked like
like an og version of Lucas Giolito. His fastball hit
ninety six, he sat like ninety three. The change up
(21:56):
was Okay, it didn't get a lot of swinging whiffs
where the fastball did. He was around the zone and
he ended up having a thirty three percent csw but
he was like a two pitch pitcher. I kind of
think Gilito is the pickup and maybe beyond streamer at
this point, seeing that his stuff was back, He's healthy,
and he went ninety pitches and six innings, So I'm
a I'm a believer in Gilito right now.
Speaker 3 (22:18):
Yeah, I think that's fine. You know, did I do
think Gilito is gonna be fairly hit or miss missed
all year.
Speaker 2 (22:25):
I think he's gonna be a little dicey, sure.
Speaker 3 (22:27):
But but this is a great start. It is a
great first start against the Blue Jays here. So yeah,
I think I'm in well that one.
Speaker 2 (22:34):
Okay, Tony Gonsolin. Tony Gonsolin came in, had seventeen wiffs,
nine strikeouts. I believe it was against the Marlins. Let
me look at the exact line. It was six innings,
nine strikeouts, no walks, three and runs a few more strikeouts.
Kind of similar ish to where gi Alito was, but
he was just way more efficient against the Marlins team
that strikes out a bunch four pitches. He threw forty
(22:59):
percent or higher whiff rate on three of his four
pitches only as fastball didn't have a forty percent whiff
rate crazy through lots of strikes had a forty three
percent overall CSW percentage called strikes, and withs percentage, it's
overinflated because it's the Marlins. Tony Gonsolin also looked great,
and Velo, if I remember correctly, Velo looked like it
(23:21):
was up a tiny bit. He did sit ninety two
slider splitter are really good. Here's my question, Lucas Gielito
or Tony Gonslin.
Speaker 3 (23:28):
For you, lucasgi Aledo, I mean Tony Gonsolin, what do
he have Hee had twenty twenty two with one hundred
and thirty innings. He had one hundred and three innings
before that every other year fifty five, forty six, forty
Like I just I do not trust lucashi Aledo. I'm sorry,
Tony Gonsolin is stay healthy, so it's lucasgi Aledo. And
(23:49):
I mean not that the Dodgers' rotation is ever going
to be fully healthy, but if it does get more healthy,
you know, what happened. What happens with Gonsolin? Does he stick?
Is he six? Do they go to six?
Speaker 4 (24:02):
Like?
Speaker 3 (24:02):
I just don't know what happens there, So I y.
Speaker 2 (24:06):
I'm a Gonsolin guy in this one, Joe was with you.
I think Joe was with Gilido. It's but one of
my things is like glass snails out for how long?
Snails out for? How long?
Speaker 4 (24:15):
You know?
Speaker 2 (24:15):
Kershaw's coming back? Gonsoon looked really good. I think I
would side. I think they're kind of similar, but I
would side. I think on the Dodgers side, and Gonsoon
a little bit, really like the whiffs that he got again.
Marlin's affected a tiny bit, but I thought he looked
pretty good. The other one was from today, And the
only reason I even want to talk about this not
so much to poke at one of my dear Patreon
friends who did not like my Shane Bo's Dynasty rank
(24:38):
and that he got his tit slate today. It's totally
not that, and to prove that point, but this weird
there's this weird thing when I was looking, and I
want to get your take on this. I don't know
if you're able to pull this up on Savant. I
want you to go to today's game if you can,
and the Tampa Bay game. Shane boz bat outing. He
gave up seven and runs. Like I said them things
(24:59):
lit up seven and runs. He walked three, he struck
out only one. He have eleven hard hit balls. Everyone
was crushing everything on him, and I had this vibe.
I was looking. I was like, this seems very familiar,
and I was just kind of going through it and
I'm gonna see if you can pick up on this.
I'm like, okay, fastball, this fastball. It's bigger fastball than
(25:19):
the person I'm comparing against ninety six. But his velo
was down forty eight percent fastball zone percentage. Okay, that's
not great, especially when you're trying to throw a knuckle
curve and a changeup is your next two pitches?
Speaker 3 (25:30):
Yeah, it's Gallon.
Speaker 2 (25:32):
That's exactly right. I was like, this is exactly like
Zach Gallon, except with a much better fastball, but some
of the similar traits of concern. When you don't have
your fastball, you can't set up the curve and the
change up. He could not throw a change up for
a strike twenty five percent, So now you're only throwing
The only pitch of fifty percent or more that he
(25:53):
was throwing really because he threw a couple sliders was
his curveball, and he was under fifty percent fastball. I
immediately was I got these vi vibes of Zach Gallon,
and that inconsistency that, you know, just keeps me off
from being like he's this ultimately elite player. He does
get whiffs, he just didn't get it in this game.
He had fourteen percent with rate on one of the
(26:13):
worst offenses in baseball. The Royals as of late. They
just kind of they took it apart on him because
also he wasn't doing a good job at throwing strikes.
So something to just kind of monitor before you anoint
a guy like him is like, you know, one of
the best in the league, Like this is this is bad.
It could easily get better, But I'm very much going
(26:33):
to be having some type of visual comparison to see
like how does he bounce back from this, and does
he stack these together? And can he do anything if
he doesn't have his fastball, Because Gallon, his fastball stinks,
and when he doesn't have it, he can't do anything
else because it's like everything else just gets smashed. It
would be good to have another outpitch the knuckle curve
(26:55):
and changeup. He can throw for strikes, but he's not
doing that super well and guys are just waiting on
it because his fastball stink. So Boz over Gallon this
year for sure. But I just think that it'll be
interesting if there's any similar trajectory.
Speaker 3 (27:07):
Do you think it's I mean, because he hasn't really
gotten too smashed. He did have a bad game against
the Yankees the other day, three and a third, five, earned,
three strikeouts, four walks. He had four walks.
Speaker 2 (27:22):
Are you talking about Boz right now?
Speaker 3 (27:24):
Boz? Yeah, he had the four walks against the Angels
and his second start. There's other starts against Pittsburgh no walks,
ten strikeouts, Boston, no walks, eleven strikeouts, at San Diego
one walk, six strikeouts. So when it's put together, it
all works really well. It's just inconsistent. But I also
say this, five of his six starts have been at
(27:45):
home in Tampa, and the one game that he started
on the road in San Diego didn't give up a run.
So it's just it's gonna be interesting to see the
long term home home road splits for Shampaz this season.
Speaker 2 (27:56):
A boz Or gallon for you gallon. I don't thick bass, Okay,
I think all right. Some injury news out there. Cole
Reagan's throwing a bullpen on Friday. Noah Cameron had a
spot start for him, pitch pretty well. Just don't think
he's gonna stick around, but Cole Reagan's throwing a bullpen's
a good sign. Salvi Perez was removed Thursday. Speaking of
(28:16):
Royals with left hand.
Speaker 3 (28:17):
All four too, by the way, has just been bad
this year.
Speaker 2 (28:20):
I wonder if he were to miss significant time, if
they wanted a d H there was only a two
way player in Double A that they can maybe call up.
I don't think it'll happen anytime soon, but just watch
for it. Tommy Edmond miss Wednesday's game right ankle discomfort.
Austin Hayes has not been playing lately, so that hamstring
is still bothering him. Jazz was removed Tuesday. Didn't play
on Wednesday with the oblique injury. And I don't think
(28:41):
they've made a move yet. They haven't, I haven't yet.
I would imagine if it's an oblique see ya like
obliques or death sentences.
Speaker 3 (28:49):
Lately, usually they are we'll see if he can get
in the game tomorrow or not.
Speaker 2 (28:53):
Of that, I mean that not much of an oblique thing.
George Kirby faced Hitters on Monday in a live VP session.
I believe this was in Double A. I think he's
out of here in Phoenix and Double A. So he
looks like he's inching closer. While we're still waiting on news.
By the way, for Logan Gilbert, we still haven't really
seen like what level of devastation this injury is going
(29:14):
to be, but pretty brutal blow for them. Dylan Moore
was also Mariners wise placed on the aile.
Speaker 3 (29:19):
With hip and he's been good. He's been quite hot.
Speaker 2 (29:24):
Royce Lewis is aiming for May sixth, the retrain of
Royce Lewis. So are you in on Royce Lewis coming back.
Speaker 3 (29:33):
I mean, I'm just play the rest of the season
and then I'll be in on you next year, Royce.
But I mean this is well, what's that game where
you hit the gophers that pop up, you know, like, uh,
whack the mall, Yeah, whack them all. That is that's
him with the il he's whack them all with the
I l that's just what he is. So no, I
(29:54):
mean get him going for a couple of weeks and
then trade him. That's what I would do.
Speaker 2 (29:57):
I'm probably looking at it. Someone asked me in the
Life Extreme. They're like, what level, and I was like,
it's kind of hard to say, but I think it's
like he's gonna still struggle with consistency on batting average.
He's he's missing time again and like getting his feet back.
I think he's gonna hit for lower average. He might
have a streaky run homers. He's probably a two forty
two fifty hitter. He's gonna be a middle And you
(30:18):
know what we can do when we get to my ranks,
or we'll look at third base and we can kind
of discuss where I've got him versus like where he's
gonna go because the other the oddity is like when
you look at the depth third base really isn't great.
Speaker 3 (30:29):
Now I'm looking at over at eighty one games played
for Royce Lewis, so he plays exactly half the season.
What what like where would you would you bet the
over or under on that line?
Speaker 2 (30:44):
We like, how many games have already been played like thirty. Yeah,
so then you're saying, like he misses fifty more games
and he only plays eighty. I'll take the over on.
Speaker 3 (30:53):
That, Okay, I mean he's played over eighty games one time.
I will actual shocked when he goes eighty two, by
the way, but yeah, I won't be shocked when he doesn't.
Are thirteen and eighteen, So thirty one games down.
Speaker 2 (31:05):
So hopefully they babied him enough that is.
Speaker 3 (31:07):
Got one hundred and fifty games left. We're saying he
plays a little bit more than half of those, so.
Speaker 2 (31:12):
Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Uh, Rangerswar is going to
make his season debut against the Diamondbacks on Sunday, so
he's going to be back for the Ranger. Shane McClanahan
began a throwing program. This is very good news. Also,
Jered Jones has been cleared to start a throwing program.
So both of those pictures that you know, very highly
sought after, came at big values and then kind of
blew up in our face. You know, them coming back
(31:36):
is a huge, huge sign. We just don't really still
know what the timeline looks like. It's right, if they're
starting a throwing program they got to do, like rehab stuff,
like it could be a month, it could.
Speaker 3 (31:44):
Be just this ramping up, like are we doing spring
training and then rehab stuff and then when you do
come back, how much kid gloves are we handling you with?
You know? Or are you going to be skip starts?
All that crap.
Speaker 2 (31:58):
Another good sign Shane Bieber is going to be throwing
some simulated games. Well, you know, it's interesting they say
simulated games in the Arizona Complex League, but those are
not simulated games. Those would be actual sanctioned rookie ball games.
So he'll probably throw some simulated stuff at the Complex
and then I imagine he is going to get one
or two starts during the Arizona Complex League. So what's
(32:20):
interesting about that is that'll actually show up on the
stat sheets. So I'm gonna I'm telling you right now,
I'm going to be on the lookout for him, and
I'm going to get down to wherever he is. I
assume it'll be at his home stadium, which is in Goodyear,
which is close, but the Guardians are kind of weird
about access. Sometimes I will be locked in to try
to see that start and get some video whenever I
hear that it's going to happen another one. If he
(32:40):
were to pitch out here, Potters are hopeful that you
Darvis can rejoin their staff on Monday or in May,
not Monday. The thing is is he's got to start
doing stuff. He's not even out here, so like he's
going to have to have a couple starts in. I
think he's going to have to have three or four.
So I think this is an end of the May
thing for sure. But I've got to start seeing him
work out hitch, and I will also be looking for him.
(33:01):
Your former your former Bay used to love you, Darvish.
You do not like him anymore?
Speaker 3 (33:06):
Well, I mean, look, uh we broke up seven years
ago and he's still around.
Speaker 2 (33:10):
So can you believe there was a time in our
lives where your life revolved around you, Darvish and John
Carlos Stanton, and my life revolved around Chris Bryant.
Speaker 3 (33:20):
Yeah. Look, Father Time is undefeated, Mother Nature undefeated. Like
you know, uh, the game and no one plays forever.
It's just the way it goes. So yeah, and Darvish's
old standon is old. Chris Bryant is almost deceased. Good God,
(33:40):
you know, I mean the guy.
Speaker 2 (33:42):
I'm waiting for news from him. I don't even know
what he's doing. Maybe he's in Colorado right now or something.
I don't even know. I don't see him around.
Speaker 3 (33:48):
To be working for Fantasy Bros. I think so wat?
Speaker 2 (33:51):
I mean, I would like to do a show with
Chris Brian.
Speaker 3 (33:53):
That'd be great, wouldn't it.
Speaker 2 (33:54):
I bet it's a It's a pretty personable guy too,
so yeah.
Speaker 3 (33:58):
I remember when he dressed up as like the pizza
guy and was delivering pizza at somebody's fantasy baseball draft
and he only revealed himself when they took Chris Brian.
He had to stick around for like much longer than
he should have.
Speaker 2 (34:11):
We wouldn't want to do that.
Speaker 4 (34:12):
Now.
Speaker 2 (34:13):
Anybody want Chris Bryant? A don'one want to draft him?
So I'll give you a pizza.
Speaker 3 (34:17):
Why is this pizza guy still here in the twenty
ninth round of this draft? This is weird.
Speaker 2 (34:21):
The only problem is I've still I never had any confirmation.
I don't know any baseball players that play fantasy baseball.
And then maybe there's.
Speaker 3 (34:29):
Like a lot of we play fantasy football. A lot
of them get slapped for playing fantasy.
Speaker 2 (34:33):
A lot of them like to gamble, but you know
not but they all play fantasy football, but they don't
play fantasy baseball. I just I need to find some
athletes that play fantasy baseball.
Speaker 3 (34:43):
But that's a weird gambling line, isn't it for them?
I mean, I just don't know.
Speaker 2 (34:49):
But I think football players play fantasy football. I think
they having them on their fantasy team. So it's like
you could do it in baseball.
Speaker 3 (34:55):
Yeah, I guess he could. It's kind of hard to
track you, just like I think the football players can't
play fantasy football for money, But I don't know because
it's not considered gambling in some aspects. I don't know.
I don't know the rules.
Speaker 2 (35:08):
I don't either. Brenda Woodruff threw five and two scoreless
innings at Hya in a rehab start. Looks like he's
got to have at least one more, so he could
be coming back here very shortly. Lance mccullors is making
his first start since twenty twenty two.
Speaker 3 (35:22):
On Susands in the World Series. Wow, semi pitched was
in the World Series.
Speaker 2 (35:27):
Jesus, he's been out for a long time. And then
last little piece Josh Lowe taking some batting practice on Tuesday,
kind of getting back. Should be there pretty shortly. All right,
let's take a break. When we come back, We're going
to look at some rest of season ranks. These are
the ranks as of what's going on. We still have got,
you know, injured players that you're trying to account for,
because you're not just looking at like what the ranks
(35:48):
are for the next week or the next two weeks.
It's like the entirety of the whole season. So there's
that balance between sample sizes and players coming back, and
it's a fine line and a dance of also holding
some players that are stinking ass and you're trying to
keep them up there. So we will go I will
list out, you know, my top ten to fifteen at
each position, and Boggs is going to poke out on
(36:09):
a couple and we will give you what some of
those look like and some good talking points, and we
will do it right after this.
Speaker 1 (36:24):
In this league. Oh I remember in this league?
Speaker 5 (36:31):
Yeah, I remember that.
Speaker 2 (36:33):
All right, Bogs. Rest of season ranks. I do have
them over on Fantasy pros. I believe you can just
kind of look at those if you want to peruse it.
I update it kind of weekly. They also are a
part of kind of powering some of the tools some
of us do rest of season ranks. So we're trying
to stay very active. But like I said, Bogs, it's
a it's a tough dance, even like Catcher. Catcher is
(36:54):
a prime example of it. Like let me give you
my top Let's start with the top ten and then
I'll give you five more on the catchers. My top
ten currently looks like this, and it looks very similar
to Redraft and it has obviously not performed at that level.
William Contreras, I still have at number one cal Rawley,
number two Salve. That might actually change. I was actually
debating will Smith and Salve Salve hurt. I'm gonnactually make
(37:15):
that move. Will Smith three, Salvi four, Adley five, Yannier six,
Ohapi seven, Princess Guavarez eight, Wilson Conturius nine, Austin Wells ten.
So there's some obvious things that stand out there. Austin
Wells is hitting two thirteen, not playing super great, he
does have five homers. Yannier Diaz is still hitting under
(37:37):
two hundred, but he has moved down to six. Adley
Rutchman is hitting only two twenty two. But this is
that dance between trying to figure out like the total
season value and not completely overgoing anybody. I don't think
I've taken anybody out of the top ten. They've just
been rearranged. Wilson Contreras may be moving the most because
(38:01):
Alvarez came back, and like, maybe I have a hoppy
a little too high now A hoppy's it in two
seventy with eight homers? Like what do you think of
this top ten? Like what do you hate out of it? Arrest?
Speaker 3 (38:10):
I don't hate anything about it, honestly, it's it's fine. Uh.
You know, the first month of the season catches a
brutal position, so when they sink, they sink pretty bad.
Speaker 4 (38:19):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (38:19):
Sally may need to come down, depending obviously on today,
if the il how long he's going to be there.
Herrera's not coming back, right, He's not like we're gonna
talk about him in a second him we're going to
talk about Yeah. I think I think this is fine.
I guess my one question of the early guys, because
I have I had Adley Rutchman on my list of guys,
(38:39):
ask you about but you're moving him down to what five,
I think that's about right. You don't want to drop
him too far. He's gonna start hitting pretty soon probably,
so uh, you know, it's one of those things like Okay,
if he's still not hitting in three weeks, he's you know,
barely hovering in the top ten, and then after that,
then you can move him significantly down. If there's just
no bow up at all in the bat and.
Speaker 2 (39:03):
I would say, well, real quick, we're gonna talk about that. Guy'renna.
I guess you can talk here, but just with ADLEI
real quick. The thing is is, like I will say,
I think it's it's relatively arbitrary, like even in the
top eight or so. This is it's more aligned to
like helping with the system of like fantasy pros and
stuff than it is application because it's like, yeah, cool,
if I moved ADLEI down, Like, are you really gonna
(39:24):
move off of Adley? Like no, you're just kind of
holding tight. I think the positive he's got a two
ninety two expected batting average and his barrel rate is
the highest it's been, so I think there's a look
at the BAB But I'm and I guess there's some yeah,
there's some unluckiness, nothing crazy, but there's like forty or
fifty points. But I think it's gonna bounce back and
he could come back near the top of this list.
He's up on these guys.
Speaker 3 (39:45):
He's been miserable and he's still the seventeenth best catcher
according to Yahoo. Like as bad as he's been, he's
still a top twenty catcher, which is kind of crazy.
Speaker 2 (39:54):
So let me do that. Let me get because I
know what you want to ask. Let me just get
these next five in so we give you a fifteen
team roto top fifty teen catchers. Number eleven is Sean Murphy,
who you know it started late, but he's got a
bunch of homers two fifty he might justifiably if you
wanted to argue, like he should go above Wells or
something like sure if you hate Yanni or like Yannier specifically.
(40:16):
Is one where if this continues into next month, he'll
be he might be off this list, Like I'm not
going to do two more months of it, but I
really do think he can bounce back. Number twelve is Augustin.
Agustin Ramirez has moved up. He's cooled off a tiny
bit as a recent but still hitting two ninety with
three homers. Shay Leanngealiers is thirteen. That's a little bit
of a drop, and he's actually hitting better for average. Again,
(40:38):
this is one of those where give me a couple
more weeks and Wells might come down and Yannier might
come down, and Langler's is still a top fifteen catcher.
Ivan Herrera at number fourteen could go higher, but you
know he's been injured, but he's coming back. He's starting
a rehabit Samon I believe yesterday, so he's very close.
And number fifteen is Keebert Rui, who's got a high average.
(41:02):
That's my top fifteen. I think that's pretty staunch. Those
are the names. If you want to argue some of
the positional stuff, I think that's fine. But I think
the tiers of these guys are minimal. So if you're like,
well listen Sean Murphy overlook, okay, sure, Like I think
these guys, I think it's like big clumps. I think
it's Contrari's, Raleigh Smith, maybe Salvey and Retchmen are all
(41:26):
kind of a tier, and then I think Yanire almost
maybe down to Ivan Herrera or even Keeberd if you
want to say it's such big, clumpy tiers of favoritism,
but these are the top fifteen catchers.
Speaker 3 (41:37):
In my mind, I don't really have much arguments here.
I'll ask about two guys here. One is, does Carson
Kelly get enough at bats to be in here? Because
he's like, according to Yahoo, he's the number two catcher.
He's hitting what is it, three sixty right now, He's
got seven bombs. Two of those were against the Diamondbacks,
you know, a while back. I think he's hit. He's
(41:57):
hit his bombs in clusters, so I'm you know, he's
not amazing or anything, probably not getting enough at bats.
It's him. The other guy I would maybe want to
push for is Hunter Goodman. He's hitting two sixty, he
has five homers. Obviously the Rockies are terrible, but he's
hitting in that lineup and he had he does have
enough at bats to justify moving up. Those are the
(42:19):
two Carson Kelly's hitting out of his mind, but he's
just not playing every game.
Speaker 2 (42:23):
I think I have them like inside the top twenty.
So you've got Ramuto Moreno, Jeffers, Kelly Goodman. That's like
the next range. I would say, like I might need
to let go of the reins of Gabby, Like Gabby
can hit for good average and be put in prime spots,
but we might be done with Gabby at this point.
Like Goodman and Kelly are better options. Do I see
(42:45):
Kelly or Goodman pushing up? Probably not, like maybe they
could get around Ruiz, but I would probably rather the
Murphy guys up over them, especially Kelly. I don't really
buy it. Goodman is pretty interesting, though. It's a weird
catching market. You know, there's just some serviceable guy. I
would also say, like there's not a lot of depth.
You know, you hope hopefully in two catcher leagues you
(43:08):
had picked up a Goodman or whatever. But if you're
looking for extra depth, I'm not sure there's awesome guys
later maybe Alejandro Kirk and Dan Ken, Danny Jansen. But yeah,
it's a weird list, all right. First, Baseman, this is
where things get fun. Not a lot of change in
the top five, Vladdie at one, Harper to I got Freeman,
Olsen Alonzo. So you know what, now that I'm looking
(43:28):
at this, Alonso has been so freaking good Man it's
actually crazy. Forty three. Yeah, I want to. I'm gonna
move him above Olson. So it's gonna go Freeman, Alonso,
Olsen top five pretty standard, there's anything there, or go six.
Speaker 3 (43:45):
Well, I was going to ask you about Olsen because
he's been fairly miserable. Now what is he hitting right now?
Olsen is hitting thirty four.
Speaker 2 (43:52):
It's come up a tiny bit. He was hitting it was.
Speaker 3 (43:54):
Four homers, fifteen RBIs seventeen runs. It sounds pretty similar
to the line I just gave you on Hunter Goodman.
Speaker 2 (44:00):
Yeah, but expected batting average two sixty seven, So we've
got a thirty point boost, hard hit best of his career,
lowest strikeout rate of his career, highest walk rate of
his career, and highest barrel percentage of his career. Also
to mention average ex velocity, like the underlying stuff for
Matt Olson looks really, really good. I think it's just
a matter of time before he starts bouncing back. Bapup
(44:23):
is kind of in line. So I think, give me
like two or three weeks, I think Olsen is back
into that tier. But to your point, like you know,
you're making more of a case for Hunter Goodman as well.
Number six through ten, I've got Josh Naylor at six.
It's been great with the Diamondbacks. I still got Christian
Walker up, who's starting to bounce back a little bit.
Underlying metrics they look decent. He's had hits I think
(44:46):
in five of his last eight games or something along
that line. I think two or three of them were
multi hit games. He's got homer. He's starting to bounce back.
Number eight, this is where things start to jump at you.
Tyler Soderstrom. I put eight on Tyler Soderstrum. Nine is
Cody Bellinger, and then I kind of don't want to
count South. I want to I'm not going to count
any catchers here, so then let's go. Ten is Ben Rice,
(45:09):
So that is what my rank is. So I have
two newcomers in there, Ben Rice and Tyler Soderstrum making
my top ten.
Speaker 3 (45:16):
Yeah. I think that's uh. These are fine. How how
much further down is Torque? I guess is my question?
But he hasn't been as hot as those guys. H
Sodastrom twenty two overall Corany Yaho's second among first basemen.
I think Ben ben sustainability overall and fourth among first basemen.
Speaker 2 (45:36):
Sustainability with Tyler Soderstrom. The hitting profile looks so good
by the way today played left field, so you've got
potential outfield eligibility coming here soon. He continues to hit,
I don't, I do think you need to track, you know,
like because he's around two eighty five, Like, how much
how much wiggle room does he have for the average
to come down? Well, I mean the strikeouts are lower,
(45:56):
his XBA is actually higher than his average. I just
think Tyler's rodistrum is legit, as I feel Ben Rice's.
I think those guys are in a tier, and ironically
I have like Cody Bellager stuck in between them, and
I think their values are relatively similar. So this is
like one of my real first instances of like bias.
I guess for the season that those guys in here
(46:19):
eleven through fifteen is Tristan Cassis because I'm not kind
of catchers, remember right, Cassas is eleven, Aronda is twelve,
Berger is thirteen, Torque is fourteen, and Paul Goldschmid is fifteen.
So that was a really tough range. Vini pas Quentino
fell out of my top fifteen. Ronda and him might
(46:41):
have some similarities if we're being honest, but I'm so
impressed with the hit profile of Ronda that I think
it's hard to ignore. I'm a believer in Burger, but
he has just been still so piss poor that I
just think Ronda has moved into that top twelve starting
first basement as a cleanup hitter for that team. So
this is a weird mixture of guys that I have.
Nick Kurtz doesn't make it, Pascentino doesn't make it. Pradies,
(47:05):
I guess qualifies in some spots. What do you think
about this next little group?
Speaker 3 (47:09):
I mean, I think I'm okay with everything. I am wondering, like,
what is your what is your threshold? In terms of
patients with tristan costs, it's been miserable, been hitting the
you know, last couple of games he's been better, but
he's still at one to eighty one, three homers, five runs,
eleven RB. I know he missed some games, but he's
(47:31):
played twenty seven and he looks awful.
Speaker 2 (47:36):
So I got to give him a couple more weeks,
I think would be the main thing. He does have
hits in four of his last six games, batting averages
come up a tiny bit, and.
Speaker 3 (47:47):
Then talked about moving his hands away from his body,
like they're trying things with him. But that's a little
I mean, the moving your stance and working on your
mechanics in the middle of the season is never a
really good sign.
Speaker 2 (48:02):
No, no, it's not. But you know the thing I'm
going to kind of lean back on. But see, this
is why he is lower. By the way I want
to point out is that, like there's a lot of
underlying things that are like, oh, okay, this is cool.
For costes, like strikeouts are lower than it was two
years ago. He's gotten the ball in the air more
than ever. It's still ten percent barrel percentage, like you
(48:23):
like those things. He's walking, but on average he's hitting
the ball like two miles per hour less. He's not
hitting it as hard as he was before. His swing
has also gotten longer, so when you're talking about them
trying to bring it in, he had a seven point
seven degree launching our swing length last year. It's up
to eight eight is like aeronauto range. So his swing
(48:45):
is getting way too long. So they're going to have
to so like, I think there's possibilities of where they
can fix it, but it's like will they fix it?
That is a bigger problem overall. But I do think
they're you know, he's still pulling the ball at time,
like I think he can bounce back, So I seing
him a little bit, but I don't like destroy him.
But you know, a couple more weeks, like how much
(49:06):
more can I give Costas and Berger? You know, yeah,
especially when Goldie is hitting like three hundred and I
haven't met.
Speaker 3 (49:12):
I mean, Goldy only has two bombs, so you know,
but he's he's hitting well. Uh, I think these these
are good rankings. Man, I'm not bashing you.
Speaker 2 (49:21):
I just wondered, well, no, you can. I mean they're
they're weird there. I would imagine some people are gonna
be like, oh, sorry, okay, this is how I'm trying
to balance rest of season. I think it's really tough.
Second base. Mookie Bets is at the top. Kutel. Ironically,
since we're doing it here, I'm very comfortable putting back
up at two because you know he's gonna be back
in a couple of days. We have the full season
(49:41):
ahead of us, So Kutel back at two, Ossie at three,
Jazz at four. Who qualifies here and here's a change,
Christian Campbell I put it five. Christian Campbell has been
phenomenal offensively. He's hitting over three hundred, four homers, two
stolen bases. I put him above Altuovey and Simeon Bogs
and I I think that definitely could maybe not be popular.
(50:03):
Alto v is the next guy, by the way, he's
hitting two sixty five or homers, three still in bases.
I have him at six and then I'll just tell
you Westburg still at seven, see me at eight, McLean
at nine, and technically iron To qualifies somewhere still, so
he is number ten. But what do you think about
Campbell over al tuove.
Speaker 3 (50:20):
I don't hate it. It's fine, Like Christian Campbell was
what the number one prospect coming in, number two prospect
coming in, so whatever.
Speaker 2 (50:28):
Like after a full month, hit in three hundred, hitting
good parts of the lineup, Like, it's pretty impressive right there.
Speaker 3 (50:33):
I do have a big issue here. I need justice
for Bryce ter rang I know you have him at eleven.
What the hell are we doing? Right? So yeah, I
do have an amazing justice for Bryce terrang Wels. That's like,
of all the things we talked about so far, you know,
I think that's that's the one that you're missing, but
(50:53):
everything else has been on point. I don't think I
leave him.
Speaker 2 (50:57):
Up, says this is really interesting. I hadn't I hadn't
miss this, So check this out. I mean, you know this,
he's barrel like. He's completely transformed as a hitter. Nine
percent barrel rate. Hard hit rate is way up there.
He was twenty nine percent last year. He's forty seven
percent this year. XBA is up. He doesn't have the
(51:17):
ball really in the air a whole bunch trying to
look here, he's getting to his fast swing more. He's
actually so here's the thing. He's added almost three miles
per hour on the bat speed, and he's also made
it longer, so he used to be short in there,
so he's brought it out a little bit to bring
more contact. I think you're right, you know.
Speaker 3 (51:37):
What, We're a ton, But I would put him above
Westburg because Westbrook's been miserable and he got hurt yesterday.
So I don't know if he's going to miss time
or anything, but he's been miserable. I'm gonna have to
be up like right behind al Twov. I think is fine. Well,
I got one.
Speaker 2 (51:54):
I just want to point out You're like, you don't
really need to move him a bunch, but you're like,
move him to seven or six.
Speaker 3 (51:58):
Well, he's the number one second basement in all of
the metrics.
Speaker 2 (52:03):
I see that. I definitely see like it's but it's tough.
Are you gonna say you like Bryce Traying hands down
for the rest of the season over Marcus Simeon, Yeah,
even though Simon has been poop.
Speaker 3 (52:12):
Yeah, okay, yeah, I'm not saying it with hard confidence.
These guys are in tiers right I would put him
at the top of that tier right now. I think
he has to be. He's moved tiers since the beginning
of the season as well, obviously, so that one he
needs to come up, the other one go through the
next group too.
Speaker 2 (52:31):
I did move him up. I did move We're gonna
move him up to nine at this moment. But I
think there's an easy path to get the seven. It's
actually really impressive the changes. I guess I'm just super skeptical.
So now McLean is ten, Arondo's eleven. I got Bogarts
at twelve, Edmond at thirteen, Luis Garci at fourteen, and
Andres Jimenez at fifteen. I kind of lose interest in
the position as it goes on, and then there's just
(52:53):
this big tier of guys like I guess you could argue,
like Brendan Donovan's been primary spot. You could like move
him up if you want. Louis Scarcia has not been
super great, but he's still in some bases. I think
it's a big clump.
Speaker 3 (53:05):
I have one for you to move down, maybe, But
to your credit, the guys below him have not been great.
Speaker 2 (53:11):
You're gonna say bogarts.
Speaker 3 (53:12):
No, Matt McClain. Matt McCain has been pretty miserable to
my credit.
Speaker 2 (53:18):
By the way, the only one that hated Matt McClain
coming into this season.
Speaker 3 (53:22):
I hated him, but then when he started hitting in spring,
I was like, Okay, he's got the boweries back. He's
hitting one sixty one so far this season. He has
four homers and five sole bases, but one sixty one.
If you want to look at the XBA, it's all
the way up to two eighteen, so it's way higher
than his actual average, but it's still miserable.
Speaker 2 (53:43):
Thirty three percentage has been batter three. This is and
it's funny you mentioned it because I was like, oh,
I got to bring Boguarts down and McClain. I'm holding
McLain here because it's still big counting stats with very
little quality production, while his underlying forty seven percent hard
hit rate more than the previous year fifteen percent barrel
(54:03):
is elite with a seventeen degree launch angle. Like if
the things start to turn around, he is massively underperforming
against fastballs one sixty three average but a two point
fifty seven expected against If those things start to change,
and he's a two forty hitter, Mat McLean's the top
ten second basement, so that's why we're not moving off it.
But his production doesn't warrant it. That's the weird battle
(54:24):
between these things. But yeah, everything else is kind of clumpy.
I'm not even sure there's a ton to talk about.
Like you can move holiday up if you want, Like
I literally think Bogart's twelve down to like into the twenties.
It's kind of an open market, you know, Jorge Polanco
is moving way up, Like next month we're gonna have
a much clearer picture of two months of production. But
this one just kind of falls off towards the end
(54:47):
a little bit, all right, Third Base third base. This
one I think also kind of falls off top end.
I really don't know if I have much of any changes.
Vladdie qualifies. So you got Jose Ramirez, Vladdie, Riley Machado
in Chisholm. That's your top five.
Speaker 5 (55:02):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (55:03):
Now this is where actually maybe a little argument is
going to come in for people Bregman and camon Narow.
I want to move Camanaro higher. Everyone wants him to
be higher. Fregman looks incredible. I move them both above Devers.
So if you don't think I'm not making moves on Camonaro,
I am. I'm an apologist for Jazz because of the
big counting stats, and he's not hurt right now. The
(55:24):
other four I'm not touching. So where can camon Aro
move to? I moved him to seven above devers.
Speaker 3 (55:30):
So if Jazz goes on the iel with this sobleak,
how far down does he go?
Speaker 2 (55:37):
At least to nine if not a little bit maybe
free It's like if it's a light change or something
like that. So Bregman at six. You know, Breggy's hitting
three twenty eight seven homers. He has been incredible, Like
I think he justifiably honestly if I want to put
him among of Jazz, I don't think there's much of
a problem because Jazz is not hitting, but he's just
(55:58):
loud counting stats. And I think cam Arrow's in that
same group, and they're just both above Devers with his struggles.
Cammy's a little bit of batting average issues, but Devers
is eight, Chapman is nine. I do have Westberg at ten,
assuming it's a short little stint on the I l
and he's back, and he kind of bounces back, but
I'm assuming, and then it kind of opens up on that.
(56:18):
This is just like second base eleven is Vento's twelve
is Iohannio. I got Burger India who qualifies? I guess
mis he has. Actually, I'm gonna make that change here.
I want to get Royce Lewis in So I got
Burger at thirteen, Donovan at fourteen, I got Aaronatto at fifteen.
But you know what, We're gonna move Royce above him.
(56:40):
So I got Royce there. Royce is going to be
the fifteenth third basement.
Speaker 3 (56:45):
Okay, So here here are my questions. Polanco? Where does
Polanco need to go?
Speaker 2 (56:51):
Porgee Polanco? Yes, I've got him. I got him in
like the twenties, because I'm.
Speaker 3 (56:57):
Right now is the second third. He's twelve overall according
to Yahoo's algorithm. And I mean a lot of surging
from the last week. But I don't know, he may
need to come up. Here's a better perspective.
Speaker 2 (57:13):
I have him above Alec Baum, I have him above
Max Months, I have him above McMahon. But he's in
this clump of like, is noelbe Martine gonna be real?
Is cam Smith just not gonna be super great? Josh
Young his injuries, but he's hitting two ninety three Paradis
Paradis hasn't bounced really, but he's like he's in that
group of guys. The one I think, to your point,
(57:35):
what I might be getting wrong is giving the benefit
of the doubt to Jonathan India. I might be giving
too much. He doesn't have a homer or stolen base.
And it was an entire month and I'm still kind
of like grasping a yeah, I think maybe he needs to.
Speaker 3 (57:46):
Come down below Planco.
Speaker 2 (57:48):
That's fine, you know what we're doing, and we're going below.
We're gonna put him right next to Planco.
Speaker 4 (57:52):
That's right.
Speaker 3 (57:52):
Yeah, that was And I had Noel V. But Noelvi's
you know, only been up for a little bit, even
though he's.
Speaker 2 (57:57):
But I'm very impressed with If he does this for
another month, he's a skyrocket up because he's not striking
out anymore, like really really good changes.
Speaker 3 (58:03):
And you said Alec bow moved how far? Like he's
way down.
Speaker 2 (58:06):
I know, yeah, he's like outside of the twenties. He's out,
He's below Noelbe and stuff. I'm not interested, all right,
shortstop top five, pretty standard, Bobby witt Ellie, Mookie, Gunner, Lindor.
Some might want Lindor above MOOKI and stuff like that. That's
just my top five. I got good either. I could
put Lindor ahead a Gunner too, Yeah, exactly. I've got
(58:27):
O'Neill at six. I have him above Corey seeger, I'm
still putting Corey Siegert at seven injuries. Maybe I'm wrong,
Trey Turner. I've got CJ. Abrams and then Christian Campbell
at ten, and then I actually just want to give
you the rest. Bobashit at eleven, Willia Domis down at twelve,
Neto at thirteen, Tovar at fourteen, and Payna at fifteen.
(58:48):
So that's the top list here, but Shett deserves and
could move up more, but we're not quite there. The
counting stats aren't there. Yeah, yeah, and that's the big issue.
But the biggest mover might be a Domis. Adamis has
moved down. I did a big breakdown. See if you
actually want to see me, do it live, go on
the YouTube on YouTube dot com slash in this League
(59:10):
or twitch dot tv slash in this League. And someone
asked me about it, and I pulled up the Savant page.
I kind of battled through it to determine. I do
think he's going to improve, but I think he is
the two years ago version two forty maybe two fifty
hitter low twenties. It's kind of exactly what we said Boggs.
We I didn't like a Damas going to San Francisco.
(59:32):
I thought he played up in his contract year and
he's playing down. And I've moved him down to twelve
below Bo Baschett and frankly Netto probably deserves to go
ahead of him, and I'm a little torn on that
right now.
Speaker 3 (59:43):
Yeah, I do think Adamis will get better, right, but
the struggle has been real. So I had him on
my list of guys to ask you about. Did you
you went through everyone you want to talk about?
Speaker 2 (59:53):
Those are just my top fifteen. I mean, Tovar is
the weirder one. I mean the more I stare at it, like,
you know, does he deserve to even beyond this? But
the guys below him are like McClain, Boguards, Edmund Anthony
Volpi has been kind of a pile of poop. It's
a weird list of guys like kind of further down
(01:00:14):
here that you can choose from.
Speaker 3 (01:00:16):
Uh, all right, so let me ask you about a
couple guys here. Let me just be a homer and
ask you where Perdomo is. He is his fifth homer today,
By the way, I think, what do you have seven
last season or something like that. I don't even know,
but I've got hard been incredible, and right now he
is the fifth overall shortstop andy top fifty player according
(01:00:39):
to Yahu. I don't think this is gonna last, of course,
but two sixty seven, five bombs, seven swipes, he's walking
more than he's striking out twenty one walks, thirteen strikeouts.
Like he's hitting near the top of the lineup with
Marte out he's been pretty solid.
Speaker 2 (01:00:55):
I have him as if if you were to pull
your middle infield from shortstop, he's I am a twenty five.
Is it deserved? Probably not based on what he's done,
But I got him below Jackson Holiday obviously, like you
know Edwards Trevor Story and stuff, but I did put
him above Jacob Wilson, who's a very similar profile Carlos Korea.
Speaker 3 (01:01:15):
It's weird.
Speaker 2 (01:01:15):
I think there's a ji freak enormous clump of shortstops
that start around fourteen all the way down to thirty
of guys where if you want to play the hot hands,
like do you really want to sit around for Jackson Holiday?
You might not, but I think he's gonna bounce back.
Do you want to you know, do you want to
invest heavily in story you can?
Speaker 3 (01:01:34):
You know?
Speaker 2 (01:01:35):
Do you want story over Perdomo? I do? But I
just think it's a huge clump of guys. But I
also think it dictates where the the top end guys are.
And I think it's like ten ish hot.
Speaker 3 (01:01:45):
Story was my other guy to talk about because he
is ninth among shortstops right now and eighty six overall.
He's top one hundred player right now. But that's another one,
like I don't know, Like the value of him was
so great going into but I don't I don't know
if I trust him to stay healthy. I will say
the thing that took him out last year was a
(01:02:06):
broken bone, right, it was a broken collarbone, so uh
not you know some you know spinal issue. Yeah, well
it wasn't an issue that's going to longer you with it,
So I gotcha.
Speaker 2 (01:02:20):
All right, let's talk about the outfielders. So I will
do do like twenty or twenty four. What we want
to do twenty I think is okay, we're going tens.
Here's my top ten. Number one Aaron Judge, number two,
Corbyn Carrol, number three, one Soto, followed by Kyle Tucker,
Fernando Tatis Junior. That's your top five, Mookie Bets, Alvarez,
(01:02:42):
Cherio Julio, and Jared Durand that is my top ten.
Trying not to make any crazy moves. The Soda deserved
to be three. You could easily put him at five
on this list below Tucker and Fernando Tatis. Tatis has
been incredible, so I mean, frankly, the more I stare
at this, like, oh man, do I want.
Speaker 3 (01:03:03):
To warming up Soto's warming up. I mean, your moms
today easily put Tatisa ahead of him.
Speaker 2 (01:03:08):
And I'm gonna I'm gonna keep Soda. I'm gonna keep
Soa with three Tucker and Tatis. That's a grouping, though,
but it obviously stands out maybe from a little homerysm.
But Gorman Carrol's looks incredible, And I don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:03:19):
I mean, honestly, I think maybe the biggest whiff here
is Julio still in the top ten.
Speaker 2 (01:03:23):
Yeah, well, I think he's gonna bounce back though, But yeah,
he has been to your point a whiff with has
been really, really bad. But I do think there's some
serious bounce back potential in Julio.
Speaker 3 (01:03:34):
Where's your don uh?
Speaker 4 (01:03:36):
Seven?
Speaker 2 (01:03:37):
Seven?
Speaker 3 (01:03:38):
Okay, I mean, look, he is awful four hundred and
fifty seventh overall, eighty six outfielder overall according to Yahoo,
dude has been not good.
Speaker 4 (01:03:48):
I mean eight.
Speaker 2 (01:03:49):
Actually, Cheerio I like a little bit over him.
Speaker 3 (01:03:51):
Yeah, Cheurio has been great too, So yeah, I mean
he just he's slipping. I think those two guys are
probably to be dropped him.
Speaker 2 (01:03:58):
Outfielders are like a great example of like are you
ready to make big move? I mean, I don't know
what the application is again, but like, are you ready
to be like Julio Rodriguez is done and blah blah blah,
like I'm not. I don't so I don't want to
go too crazy. And you kind of see that again
in the eleven range or the ten to eleven to
twenty range. So at eleven, I got Jackson Merrill is
(01:04:19):
about to come back, So I think that is a
big positive ONEO Cruz obviously has been ridiculous. Two fifty
twelve stolen bases, eight homers, you can put them higher.
It's you know what, in one month, I wouldn't be
shocked if I have Onio cruise over to Julio Rodriguez,
and some might already do it, like we can get there.
Number thirteen is Ronald Ducunya. We're one month out of
the bad stuff. When he comes back, he's going to
(01:04:40):
be you know, he'll be ranked in the top five.
So we're putting him at thirteen. I got James Wood
at fourteen default Jazz I guess goes to fifteen, Langford
at sixteen, taoscar Lawrence Butler, Christian Campbell, again and Brent Rooker.
That's my top twenty. Missing from the top twenty, Mike
Trout did not make it. We all actually mention a
couple more names after that. What's your picks on eleven
through twenty?
Speaker 3 (01:05:02):
I mean, I think those are good. I'm not really
hating on anything I see here. Can I throw a
couple at you?
Speaker 2 (01:05:08):
Sure, I'm going to give five more names, but yeah,
and they may be in that list, but do the
names first. Okay, So I do have Trout at twenty one.
I might be super silly. Still I'm going to keep
him there. He moved down, but you know, we'll see.
Number twenty two is al Twove, Schwarber, Brian Reynolds, and
Pete Crow Armstrong at twenty five. Obviously, Pete Crow has
been ridiculous and a little bit more. You know, he's
(01:05:31):
going to fly up, Like where could I see him?
I could see him up around eighteen or seventeen if
things keep going. But that is like my top twenty
five outfielders. And who's missing? Michael Harris was knocked out
of it. No longer Santander. There's any other crazy ones I.
Speaker 3 (01:05:49):
Knocked Santander was the one I wanted to ask you
about You had him at what twenty nine?
Speaker 2 (01:05:53):
Right now? People are dropping him.
Speaker 3 (01:05:55):
Well, dude, he's one hundred and eighteenth among outfielders. He's
six hundred and fifty overall. According you know, I'm just
looking at Yahoo's algorithm for the season, so that that
one was one. A couple other dart throws here. Let's
start with your boy Buxton, who has been healthy and
has been a top ten outfielder so far this season,
(01:06:18):
and he's stealing bases like this is the we finally
get out of the buston game and here he comes.
He's starting to look good.
Speaker 2 (01:06:25):
I think his average is still kind of not quite there,
but his counting stats are he's just gonna get hurt.
Like I think he's a big cell right now. I
don't have him inside the top fifty. Again, maybe that's
stupid he's performing at that level, but that would be
the signifier of someone I would be moving off of.
Speaker 3 (01:06:40):
It would just make so much sense for him to
be amazing, because it's like the second you get out here,
he is seven swipes already at seven last year in
one hundred and two games. Six bombs are a year,
right two thirty nine average. What about what about Cedric
Mullens we talked about a little bit before or he's
(01:07:00):
fortieth overall, seventeenth among outfielders, he's been great.
Speaker 2 (01:07:04):
I really don't buy into him. I got him a
little too low. I got to make a movement here,
But I think he's also a guy that's gonna be
outside the top fifty. Mullens and Buston are two guys
I'm I just trust it. I'm moving off of I
want to get out of those shares.
Speaker 3 (01:07:18):
And then I don't know if you even touch these
guys because they're so far down there. But Trent Grisham
started hots, started.
Speaker 2 (01:07:25):
Hot, none of that. I mean, those aren't like they're
not relative. I don't think they're like ten team starters.
Maybe they're fifth outfielders in twelve teen leagues, way down there.
Speaker 3 (01:07:35):
Like players so far from their production. Let's find out
who again.
Speaker 2 (01:07:39):
But yeah, I mean I would rather have like I
would Chris Shelton's Yeah, yeah, Jordan Beck, Andy Pajas, I
would rather probably you know, Jordan Walker's kind of dicey
and stuff if he bounces back, Like I'd rather have
letters New Bar than them. Like that's kind of where
that okay ends up going out fields, tough outfields. Really
really that's.
Speaker 3 (01:07:56):
Fair, all right.
Speaker 2 (01:07:57):
Two last big ones here, starting pitchers kind of the
same game we're gonna play here. We're not gonna do.
I hate how we have to tani there. Number one
is Paul Skeens, Scooball, Crochette Crochet Wheeler, and I know,
like I'm like Ron Burgundy right now, I think Chris Sale,
that's your top five, seven or six or ten. I've
(01:08:18):
got Dylan C's, Cole Reagan's, Hunter Green, Spencer Schwellenbach, and Yamamoto.
If you want to have Hunter Green be above Chris Sale.
I think has been pretty awful. Yeah, well he had
a great game. It just toruck out ten in Colorado.
Speaker 3 (01:08:34):
And stuff like the Rockies that have won five games
even though it was in Colorado. But the lineup is off.
Speaker 2 (01:08:40):
Yeah, I mean, I guess more than I'm looking at
this like I'm going to make this move right here,
I'm going to make a little slight move. We're gonna
do this. Wheeler at five, Reagans at six, Hunter Green
at seven, Sale at eight, Spencer Swellenbach and Dylan C.
I'm sorry, I have the numbers wrong, Reagan's at five,
Green at six, Sale at seven, Schwelling Back at eight,
ce set nine, and Yamamoto at ten. But it's very
(01:09:02):
light and loose here because I don't even think Schwellenbach
has particularly looked like elite elite. Cease has struggled, Saiale
has struggled, Reagan's has got an injury. I think the
top four are pretty locked. And then it's kind of
this open season where I think Reagan's Greens, Sales, Schwellenbach,
see Syamamoto, and I throw a couple other guys king
(01:09:23):
a healthy Strider de Gram. I throw all those guys
in kind of a clump together.
Speaker 3 (01:09:28):
I think that's fair. It's tough, you know pictures. Also,
you've had what five to six starts somewhere in that neighborhood,
six or seven if you're an ACE, So yeah, I
mean it's it's pretty early to be throwing these guys
under the bus, or you know, ranking them in the
top ten.
Speaker 2 (01:09:44):
Yet eleven through fifteen. You got to forgive me if
I mess this up. We have Otani on the list
in Fantasy pros and I can't take him off, so
it screws up the numbers. So I'm trying to translate
all these Michael King Is eleven, Striders twelve to grom
Is thirteen. I've Gilbert at fourteen, Valdez at fifteen. Gilbert's
obviously gonna tank if it's really bad. We just don't know.
(01:10:05):
If he's out for fifteen days or whatever, then like
we're you know, we're fine. He's gonna be evaluated. He's
gonna be reevaluated in a week or so. He's so
good to the level that if he misses three weeks
he can still be this high if he's if he
gets reevaluated in two weeks and things are really bad,
then he's gonna like tank down, kind of like where
(01:10:25):
Glass now is going. So I'm just letting people know that.
And the Strider thing, it was the was it the
ham string hamstring strain that I think it's relatively mild.
And he comes back and he looked elete when he
was there, So it's it's tough. Look at these little
injury tags. I know any of those guys are I'll
plow through the next numbers. No, keep going, all right,
So at sixteen, I've got Corbin Burns seventeen George Kirby,
(01:10:49):
Hunter Brown at eighteen, Logan Web at nineteen, Chotteau Imanaga
at twenty. I'll stop there. Hunter Brown is on the
move up if he kind of continue number one now, yeah, yeah,
So like I get it, because someone's gonna be like,
what the hell if I don't need a month more?
But if Hunter Brown does this for a couple of weeks,
Hunter Brown is going to move up into like near
(01:11:09):
the top ten. I just want, like I want to
see a continued run of it, more than just like
April starts. But I've already got him inside the top twenty.
I got him above e Monogoa, I've got him above
you know, Max Freed and stuff like that. He's been super,
super good. But I'm being a little cautious and he
will go above Corbyn Burns because I have dropped Corbyn
Burns and I think we are very closely.
Speaker 3 (01:11:32):
Had a good start his last time.
Speaker 2 (01:11:34):
Out, but his stuff was still down. His velo is down.
Like I'm I'm ready to freefall him, but because of
who he is and like he put that start together,
I'm not ready to tank yet. But he is much
further down than where I had him before.
Speaker 3 (01:11:47):
Yeah, I think that's fair.
Speaker 2 (01:11:48):
I mean disagreements here. I know I don't have to
Grom quite as high as maybe some.
Speaker 3 (01:11:51):
I would have Brown above de Grom at this point.
That's yeah, and we're close to that. Yeah, I think
that's his spot.
Speaker 2 (01:11:59):
If if, like in two weeks from now, Hunter Brown
just keeps doing what he's doing, like, I think he's
right under for me, he's like above de Grom, under Strider.
Speaker 3 (01:12:06):
I got him all over the place, love Hunter Brown.
Speaker 2 (01:12:08):
All right, twenty let's go twenty one. I got Pablo,
which probably needs to come down a little bit, Peralta Freed,
Ryan Nola, Chris Sanchez jumped up, Bryce Miller, Tanner Bibby,
Bryan Brian Wu and Sandel Contra is down at thirty one.
Speaker 3 (01:12:22):
He's been me Yeah, I got him on my list.
He's been miserable. It's tough, dude, hey man, Bibby Bibby
has been pretty bad too.
Speaker 2 (01:12:29):
And they're close, I mean moving him down, they're close
to to kind of keep going. And you know who.
The next two guys who would jump in is code
I Singa and Mackenzie Gore. I think Mackenzie Gore is.
Speaker 3 (01:12:40):
That guy that probably needs to come up already.
Speaker 2 (01:12:42):
Well I did a three and a half ra and
stuff like that, But.
Speaker 3 (01:12:44):
Like I think Bryce Miller's dicey six strikeout.
Speaker 2 (01:12:47):
No, I totally, but I think Pablo Lopez, Aaron Nola,
Bryce Miller, Tanner, Bibby al Contra. Five of those guys
a little icy right now, like they could move, and
you got guys that are ready to jump up, and
that would be like Sanga, McKenzie Gore. And then there's
after the thirties. I think things will come into a
picture much better as the a couple more weeks.
Speaker 3 (01:13:10):
You don't want to make too many huge adjustments down there,
I can I.
Speaker 2 (01:13:14):
And That'saldi, Lozardo, boz Meyer. That's who those guys are.
Speaker 3 (01:13:17):
But yeah, so I have Lozardo on my list. Here's
a couple other rapid fire ones. Paveta. Where's Pavetta. I
don't know if you said his name yet.
Speaker 2 (01:13:25):
He's inside the top fifty. He's been really, really good,
probably deserves to go, and I'm gonna even bump, give
him a tiny bit more of a bump here. But
he's right around the forty thirty marker.
Speaker 3 (01:13:35):
Casey Mize eighty second over sixty second overall top twenty
SP so far.
Speaker 2 (01:13:40):
I have him at SP fifty right now and might
deserve so he's a top fifty guy.
Speaker 3 (01:13:45):
And the last one. I mean only because our boy
John has been hounding me about this guy. Gusto for
Houston has been pretty damn good. No, so far, we're
not doing it. We're not buying it yet.
Speaker 2 (01:13:57):
Okay, No, we're not doing I mean, like even on
your put him on the list, though, But I would
rather Tyler McGill. I think Tyler McGill I would rather
have with the Mets.
Speaker 3 (01:14:05):
Do you have at the bottom of that list? You
wouldn't rather have Gusto over the bottom guy on your list?
Speaker 2 (01:14:10):
Okay? Like I'm not, okay, but this is my point,
even out of arguing about the points. I would rather
have Tyler McGill than him, Brady Singer than him, Dustin
may Severino, Jose Soriano, Andrew Abbott, Tyler Molly. I'd rather
have those guys than Gusta right now.
Speaker 3 (01:14:26):
Maybe I'm wrong, I'd agree with like everybody but Abbot
so sure, Okay, all right, I'm with you.
Speaker 2 (01:14:32):
Final relief pictures here, a little bit of a shakeup.
I still have Class A at one. I'm not gonna overreact.
I put Mason Miller at two, and my boet Andris
Jimenez at three, who was all in on this season,
uh haters at four and is right as I was
about Munos, as wrong as I was about Robert Swarez,
(01:14:52):
who I have at number five. Robert sware has been incredible.
So that's my top five. So Devin Williams got the boot.
I put him down we'll talk in a second at seven.
But I did it because I am very worried that
Luke Weaver really holds on to this and that's why
we moved him for I didn't, like, I guess, destroy him.
But Edwin Diaz is at six and Devin Williams is
at seven. So what does that like? What's that mixture
(01:15:14):
look like for you?
Speaker 3 (01:15:15):
I mean, you have one thing incredibly wrong here. It's
Mason Miller has to be one over class A.
Speaker 2 (01:15:23):
Yeah, I mean I have him at two. I put
him at number two.
Speaker 3 (01:15:26):
I know, I know, but Class A is like on
the verge of maybe losing this job. Like I think,
I think Miller is just so much more solid than
Class A. That's all.
Speaker 2 (01:15:34):
It's just A's ballpark. I mean, he's been incredible, but
there's like that that's floating out there.
Speaker 3 (01:15:39):
Listen.
Speaker 2 (01:15:40):
I put him at too, I put him above Hater,
I put him above Edwin Diaz. I don't think I'm
I might be wrong, but I'm not super wrong. Like
I listen, number two closer.
Speaker 3 (01:15:47):
The closers this year are gonna knock me out of
top ten rankings again for this season. I have been
awful this year on my closer calls, so I didn't
want any of mun Yo's. I have a bunch of
Devin Williams. You know, I have a decent amount of
Ryan Walker, right like I just the the closers I
(01:16:09):
have been off lat So take my anything I say
with a grain of salt here. So, uh, you know,
because I like even Alvarado, I was probably right about
that he has a decent amount of saves, but his
e RA is up over five right now. Tanner Scott
hasn't been any good so well, I actually.
Speaker 2 (01:16:27):
It's funny you say that it feels like he hasn't.
He's got a two four e RA and eight saves
right now. So Tanner Scott has actually been.
Speaker 3 (01:16:33):
Yeah, okay, better than I thought. I guess but okay,
keep going on, because I got a cup well Iglesias.
Where did we put a Glaciers? Did we say his
name yet?
Speaker 2 (01:16:43):
I got him at No, he didn't. I got him
at nine. So I've got ds at six, Devin Williams
at seven, Tanner Scott at eight, I got a Glacius
at nine, and Hellsley at ten. I'm a little bit
lost in that range of closer. Glacias has not been good.
He's got a five v R. Ryan Helsley could get traded,
presumably it would be to a closer spot. So I
will fully admit I'm a little bit lost in that
(01:17:05):
area because then around them it's like Fairbanks doron a
rold As Chapman. And then obviously there's this just huge
mixture of closers that are floating around, like where does
Elvorado go? And Felix Batista, and then even further down,
I know Ryan Walker versus Deval like Deva, Yeah, I
move Pegone Like here's the other thing that's a little
(01:17:26):
bit of a problem. We have sps in here. So
if we're purely talking closers, I gotta eliminate like multiple players.
When I do the numerical stuff. But Pagne would be
a top thirty reliever, you know, because he is saving
and he can. But do you want Pegone over Trevor
McGill with the Brewers right now? I mean he's been dicey.
(01:17:48):
I don't know Ryan Presley over Pegone like I think
Pegne is at the bottom of the list. He's in
the Finnigan will Vesty type of range.
Speaker 3 (01:18:00):
How high did we have Weaver?
Speaker 4 (01:18:01):
Now?
Speaker 3 (01:18:02):
Did you say so?
Speaker 2 (01:18:03):
I put Weaver? I guess if you get rid of SPS,
he's eighteen eighteen okay, and if he holds a job
even lot.
Speaker 3 (01:18:11):
Like I mean, the Yankee closer is a good spot.
Speaker 2 (01:18:15):
You can see this here. I put Weaver above Ryan
Walker right now? I might yeah, I don't hate that
on that. I mean, so Vall keeps getting save opportunities.
Last one, Kate Smith, did you move him up because
of the Class eight troubles at all? Or is it
just Look I'll make that move when it's official, and
until then, he's just a guy kind of. I think
he's one of the better speculative guys. I think he's
(01:18:37):
a good speculative closer like I would rather Now I'm
looking at this. I gotta change it. I'd rather him
than Jordan Romano or even Porter Hodge at this point,
or Alexis Diez. But you know, he's like, he's like
in the top, like thirty five, so he's in general space.
So that's a that's a look. That's a look at
my rest of season ranks. Some interesting questions I would
(01:18:57):
imploy you guys if you guys want, jump into either
the mailbox or the live chats. I'm doing another live
chat on Friday at one thirty pm Eastern and then
I should hopefully be back normal next week. But you
guys can come in those live chats ask questions about
some of the rest of season ranks. It's actually really
good to talk about this and help with some of
that process. Boggs. We don't have an official mail bag,
(01:19:20):
but we do have two things that have come through,
so let's give them a little bit love. How about
that our boy Grim Reaper. So this is very funny.
First time I've got to share these. Well, I'll share
it after. So Grim Raper got a lot of guff
because he wrote a novel novel that really was just
(01:19:40):
not there's no ability for me to give anything out
of it.
Speaker 3 (01:19:43):
Well, he's not an audio book here.
Speaker 2 (01:19:45):
Yeah, yeah, well, funny that you say, because it looks
like he has a new structure. Grim Raper is determined
to hide himself. He is shameful and fearful to let
us know who he is. And he's decided to change
his voice. Yeah you'll see those in a second. He's
decided to give us a voicemail. I think he's taken
(01:20:07):
a different approach.
Speaker 4 (01:20:08):
All right, boys, let's try this again. This past week,
the Grim Reaper visited Minnesota. Sorry, Lukeki show fans headed
out west to see Logan Gilbert and then visited my
best bud Tyler Glasnow and just for fun to mess
with fam, I went to see a Knicks game Tuesday
and took out Hart and Brunson. I do not always
know who gets injured in advance, so don't blame me.
(01:20:30):
But if you pay attention to things like Welsh's weekly
hot target lists, you likely already picked up Kurtz or
Simpson or four this week. If you pay attention to
rehab assignments, you might find replacements such as Lucas Giolito,
Tony Gonsolin, or even Lance mccullors. Finally, while I don't
believe in Ouiji boards or voodoo dolls. Here's something for
(01:20:51):
the two of you to enjoy. See attached toodles. The
Grim Reaper.
Speaker 2 (01:20:56):
I may or may not have been like, why don't
you use AI? Why don't you write your novel and
put it into AI.
Speaker 3 (01:21:01):
For a and the fake ass English accent?
Speaker 2 (01:21:04):
I love it. Yeah. By the way, I also said
it went to a Knicks game. So where were the
Knicks last Tuesday? Was it in New York or somewhere else?
Maybe Chicago? I don't know whether we're trying to figure
out Guthrie, Chicago. Where the Knicks playing the I'm probably
not playing the Bulls. But who lives in New York?
(01:21:24):
We're gonna figure this out. He decided to make action.
Speaker 3 (01:21:27):
Faint the Pistons Detroit. By the way, so who's in
Detroit now? Couch?
Speaker 2 (01:21:36):
Did you get got couch? That might be. He decided
to make toys of us. I hate this one, Boggs.
You can see it. It is a Welsh and it
says John Lackey, toy of the Welsh. I'll share this
in the group means with a Diamondbacks hat on and
apparently a number twenty two jersey. Very interesting. That's my birthday,
so maybe they really know me. And then Bogman here.
(01:21:57):
I love this. Yours is like a bobble head and
it comes with Steelers jersey, a Diamondbacks hat, a Texas flag,
a Steelers pendant. The only thing missing is a prominent
red shirt under your jersey.
Speaker 3 (01:22:10):
Yeah, I need a red polo, of course.
Speaker 2 (01:22:12):
I like this toy. These are good toys.
Speaker 3 (01:22:15):
These are outstanding.
Speaker 2 (01:22:17):
These are great. I wish we could sell those.
Speaker 3 (01:22:19):
I'm not sure AI audio file is outstanding as well.
I love this Grim Reaper.
Speaker 2 (01:22:23):
But I don't know what Grim Reaper accomplished there? What
what was the did they?
Speaker 4 (01:22:27):
Did?
Speaker 2 (01:22:27):
They heck somebody with you?
Speaker 3 (01:22:30):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:22:30):
I guess so. It's pretty good, but very good job.
That's the way to do it.
Speaker 3 (01:22:33):
You did so promoted all of your stuff. I like that.
Speaker 2 (01:22:35):
I know it was pretty good. That's that's a great promotion.
There got three? Got three? Yeah, all right, let's finish out.
We got the barrel rapport, barrel bars back. I think
it's in it late. What's up, barrel?
Speaker 5 (01:22:48):
It's time for the barrel report.
Speaker 4 (01:22:50):
No.
Speaker 5 (01:22:50):
I don't like to admit this, but I am not
good in in season rural leagues. I just like the
Bogman League fourth place right now, and I just don't
know what little things I can do to move myself
up the ladder into first place. The Road League is
(01:23:11):
only half season long, so what are your suggestions? And
now Cam Smith, I have him in my home league.
He's been fairly disappointing. Well you have a bounce back
second half like Jackson Cheerio did last year, or should
I start thinking about dropping them in a week or two?
(01:23:34):
All right, thanks for all the help.
Speaker 3 (01:23:36):
Guys.
Speaker 5 (01:23:37):
Sorry I missed you last week. Have a great day
and enjoy Thunderbolts, Welsh Later Taters Invaders.
Speaker 2 (01:23:47):
It's very uncertain of himself, is everything? Okay? Baryl, you're
muted Bogs, we can't hear you.
Speaker 3 (01:23:53):
Right, You're right, my bad. I'm also going to see
Thunderbolts this weekend.
Speaker 2 (01:23:58):
I'm going to see it tomorrow. I win you do.
Speaker 3 (01:24:00):
First, Yep, I'm gonna go on. You know what. I'm
gonna go see it tonight.
Speaker 2 (01:24:04):
No, you will beat me. I think I do that today.
I know you can. Damn.
Speaker 3 (01:24:07):
I'm a single man. I can do whatever I want.
You can do it well.
Speaker 2 (01:24:13):
Coming in as the resident number one in the Bogman
Roto League. Since I am first place and the greatest person,
I would say the best piece of advice I can
give you is to be more like me and construct
your teams like me, and listen to me. Like when
Horey Planco is sitting out on the wire and I
picked him up. Do things that are more like me.
(01:24:36):
Do you think that's good advice?
Speaker 3 (01:24:38):
Wow?
Speaker 2 (01:24:38):
I mean not if you wrapped like I did.
Speaker 3 (01:24:42):
Not if you want to be a sane person, if
you would like to be sane, do things less like
the Welsh.
Speaker 2 (01:24:47):
I should also have Devin Williams in that league's.
Speaker 3 (01:24:51):
I'm in seventh, So I don't know you're doing better
than me. Barrow, I'm I've been awful in my own leagues, uh,
pretty recently, so I can't help.
Speaker 2 (01:25:00):
Yeah, wish Yeah, I mean, I think honestly, like the
thing that you've got to do, though, is you've got
to go and you've got to have a hyper focus.
I think positionally or categorically you got to see like, okay,
where can you improve from a point standpoint if you
are if you are like ninth in batting average, but
or let's do about runs. But there's like six runs
(01:25:22):
that different are a difference between you and third place.
Then start going paying attention to guys hiring the lineups
that are scoring a lot of runs, and you might
need to be a little bit more active. I would
tell you this in the Bogman League, this one because
we very smartly only play one first half, so by
the All Star Game, this league is over. You got
burn and churn, baby, you got like, like my trout
(01:25:42):
just got hurt. I have him in that league. If
he is going to be out for an extended period
of time, I might need to make some hard decisions,
like you got to burn and churn, because there's only
so much time. So I would say, hyper focus on
some positional stuff. Then he asked about what cam Smith?
What was the I was looking at our toys.
Speaker 3 (01:25:56):
I you just want to know, frustrated by cam Smith,
what are we doing with them?
Speaker 2 (01:26:01):
Yeah, I would say bench. I would say in a
Bogman League, he's probably not ownable in the first half,
like a lot of rookie guys like that are not ownable.
So I think you can move on from him. I
think things will improve, but I think it's probably at
best a corner infield at this point, so if there's
any good hot guys, he can make a move. Big
gol friends. That is it, Positional ranks news and a
(01:26:26):
couple of our boys dropping and thank you to the
ITL Grim Reaper and our boy Barrow Barrow also shout
out Barrow's always hanging in the live streams Friday one
pm one thirty pm Eastern. I should be live on
the twitch Twitch dot tv slash in this League as
well as the YouTube. You want to come hang out
next week all the normal stuff. We should have a
guest episode Bogman and I. We're kind of back into
(01:26:47):
a little bit of a normal schedule, which is kind
of thank God to be honest with you. And Rookie
ball is starting out, so I'll have a new Prospect
one episode this week and previewing some rookie balls, So
make sure you're locked into all the stuff. Go to
in this League dot com if you would like to
support us, and that's all we got. Follow up Bogwin
Sports on Twitter and at is it the Well, you
guys have a fantastic day and we'll talk to you
(01:27:08):
next time after we've all seen Thunderbolts next week.
Speaker 3 (01:27:11):
That's it so
