Welcome to this week’s Indie Artist Music Hustle with Blonde Intelligence. I am your host Ms. Roni, and I always seek to give you exquisite cranial repertoire. Have you ever wondered what really drives celebrity feuds in the music industry? The recent clash between Nicki Minaj and SZA offers a fascinating case study of how seemingly minor comments can trigger major conflicts when underlying tensions exist.

This episode peels back the layers of the headline-making Twitter tirade, examining not just what happened, but why it happened. Drawing on insights about Sagittarius personality traits, I explore how Nicki's emotional reactions likely stem from feelings of rejection and disrespect after reportedly having a feature request ignored by SZA's team. The subsequent collaboration between SZA and artists Nicki has conflicts with added fuel to an already smoldering situation.

Beyond the immediate drama, we tackle the important question of accountability in the music industry. When artists with massive platforms engage in body-shaming, insults, and degrading comments toward colleagues, where are the repercussions? As the music world watches what some are calling "the fall of Cash Money" with both Nicki and Drake facing parallel controversies, it's worth considering how the industry enables and sometimes rewards toxic behavior rather than professional communication. Even stars in their 30s and 40s can revert to high-school level insults when they feel slighted – but should they be given a pass simply because of their status?

Whether you're fascinated by celebrity culture, interested in how astrology influences behavior (Mercury retrograde, anyone?), or concerned about the broader implications for industry standards, this deep dive offers fresh perspectives on a controversy that reveals much more than meets the eye. Speaker 1 (00:23):
Music.
Welcome to this week's IndieArtist Music Hustle with Blonde
Intelligence.
I'm your host, ms Ronnie, and Ialways seek to give you
exquisite cranial repertoire.
This week I am going toprobably talk about what a lot
of people are talking about theNicki Minaj scissor situation.

(00:44):
People are talking about thenikki minaj scissor situation.
Um, I saw a long tweet thatnikki had wrote and she called
scissor so many bitches, I swear.
I thought that she was tooshort.
She probably needed to pay tooshort for her tweet.
But I listened to severaldifferent commentators give

(01:07):
their opinion on her behaviorand they showed like mashups of
things that people had to sayand some of the words that
described nikki's behavior wasunhinged, delusional, inebriated

(01:28):
, she's not well, she's bodyshaming, that she's violent
towards women, that she'sprojecting, that she has lack of
respect.
And it was some people thatsaid, um, that it was a response

(01:50):
to scissor, saying that it wasmercury retrograde and that a
lot of her fans were saying thatscissor shouldn't have said
anything.
Well, I kind of think that I'mobjective because, you know, I
don't get too involved in whodoes what, because I don't know
these people, but I would say atwhat point?

(02:15):
Because because a lot of fanswas talking about uh, it's time
to start calling out her badbehavior.
Fans been calling out her badbehavior and I am going to say
that it's bad behavior because,um, that's what it is, but

(02:36):
there's like now, there has tobe some type of repercussion for
the bad behavior.
So scissZA said something tothe effect of is Mercury
retrograde?
Basically, because this is notverbatim, don't get pulled into
the foolishness is what she wassaying.

(02:57):
And then somebody posted thatGoogle said no, it's not Mercury
retrograde, that it don't startuntil March, the 17th.
Now, anybody who studies theesoteric or believe in any parts
of it knows that it's a periodleading up into the retrograde

(03:20):
and then a certain amount oftime after the retrograde.
Now, retrogrades are not allbad.
So I'm going to say that andmaybe an ex might come back, or

(03:40):
a project that you have shelved, you might think about it and
how you can make revisions to it, or you may mend past
relationships, but it's kind oflike a period of retrospection
of things that were not resolvedin the past.
I'm going to leave it like that.
So anybody who understands howretrogrades work and it can be a

(04:08):
quarrel sometime too Don't getpulled into it.
Keep your distance, let it fly,let it ride, you know, because
it can lead to bigger blow ups.
So then it brings me to.
I watched another commentatorsay something about when Nikki

(04:30):
have these outbursts.
That is just not from thin air.
It's always based on something.
So I have a brother that is aSagittarius.
I know several Sagittariuspeople and Nikki is a
Sagittarius.
They are very reckless withtheir mouths but their feelings

(04:55):
are very easy to hurt.
They may not cry in front ofyou, but they're easy to shed
those tears.
So I think when Nikki has thoseoutbreaks, outbreaks, outbursts,
that her feelings is hurt aboutsomething.
And I know they were sayingsomething on the breakfast club

(05:15):
about how she had got done inthe industry before.
I'm not saying that what she'ssaying is not true, but when
you're hurt or you have want toexpress it, you cannot go and
call people ugly and they seemlike dogs and they fat and
chubby and skinny at the sametime and that you don't have any

(05:40):
accolades and don't nobody knowwho you are and I'm this and
I'm that.
That right there takes awayfrom the argument.
So when she say that, because Iwas listening to I cannot
remember his name.
I am so terrible with names, but the guy from TDE that was

(06:03):
previously CISAZA's manager Icannot remember his name.
I'm sorry, but said that, um,nikki asked for a feature and
they never got back to her.
Okay, well, get back to her, even if it's to say no, um, but

(06:24):
then she goes on to do featureswith other people that I would
say Nikki don't necessarily getalong with, but which in
business you don't have to.
The timer might have been right.
So I think that Nikki may havegotten emotional about the fact

(06:45):
that I asked you this questionand you wouldn't even answer me,
but the next time I look up,you're with x, y and z.
Okay, in that situation it'slike I won't ask you again.
I don't have nothing for youagain.
Bye, instead of going on thislong rant and then throwing

(07:10):
other people in.
And it's like a lot of thingsthat she said about SZA is, in
actuality, about herself.
So when they say the projection, I can see that, and then I
don't understand the comment.

(07:31):
That, excuse me.
What does it mean?
When she said the scissorwanted to fit in in school?
You're in your late 30s and 40sand we have graduated from high
school 20, 25, 30 years ago.

(07:52):
Where the hell is that comingfrom?
And you cannot make somebodythat's that age feel bad about,
even if they did feel that wayin high school.
You're grown now.
You grow from that, so I justfeel like that came from some
immaturity.
She called the woman stupid andI don't even know your music,

(08:18):
but she's credited as a writeron one of the songs you did.
So you know, at some point youcan separate the person from the
artist and love Nicki Minaj.

(08:40):
But this Onika person is verysensitive and like to go off on
people and I think a lot of itis unwarranted.

(09:10):
And the thing is that if aperson is telling you don't have
to lift a finger For a lot offingers to point back at you.
And a lot of people have beencomparing Drake and Nicki Minaj

(09:31):
and they call it as the fall ofcash money.
I don't know about the fall ofcash money, but I do feel like
that Drake and Nicki are havinga lot of parallelism in their
actions toward people and theyalways say that you catch more

(09:52):
flies with what is it?
Honey?
Honey, that means be sweet.
Your attitude can change awhole lot of things.
And, yeah, maybe the, the, thebroken barbie song.
These people from td are smart.
Nobody can say that they'reunintelligent.

(10:13):
So I don't know where Nikki gotthat sizzle was stupid from,
but collectively I would say isa set of brilliant minds.
So it had to have crossed TDE'smind that because because you
cannot just tell me oh, she hasa problem and I didn't even know

(10:34):
it.
Because if Nikki has a problemand I didn't even know it,
because if Nikki has a problem, you know it okay.
So when you heard the song andyou knew that there was no maid
could be misconstrued in sometype of way and maybe you
thought it was just gonna flyand just let the fans talk and
maybe you wasn't expecting forher to say something.

(10:55):
But she did and it's okay.
And it's okay for SZA to saysomething too.
But my question is when is there?
When are the repercussions forthe bad behavior?
Because I do think that Nikkishows a lack of respect for
other artists.

(11:15):
I don't know what went on withher and Jay-Z and the reason why
she's stomping on Roc Nation, but Jay-Z, his ass is a
Sagittarius too.
I know that much.
I know that much.
And if y'all are into it, twoSagittarius into it, it can be
very fiery.

(11:36):
It's going to be fiery and I'mjust going to be watching.
But I don't like for people tohave these moments and then
you're not.
What is wrong?
Tell me what is wrong.
Is it that you're mad Becauseit don't have to be, that you're
hurt that you're mad becauseyou asked her a question and she

(11:58):
didn't answer you?
Let's just stop her right there.
Sza, y'all wrong.
If somebody asks you a question, no, you don't have to answer.
But if it's in business and youwant to keep good business
relations, hit her back.
Sorry, she's not going to beavailable during this time.
These are the time slots's.
Um, not going to be availableduring this time.
These are the time slots.
You're going to be available.

(12:19):
If you can't do it, you have tomove on with your project,
whatever, and it might just be acoincidence that she worked
with the next person, but if youkeep doing it, then you know, I
don't think it's a coincidence.
Sometimes, you know, actionsspeak louder than words and you
can slap a person real hardsilently without ever touching
them, and I think that's whatSZA is doing.

(12:40):
So that's all that I have fornow.
It always be other informationthat comes out and other people
that joins the conversation andother people that have different
perspectives.
So I'm going to keep watchingand remember.
