(00:03):
I do love that solo. Thesolo is part of our intro and outro
music. Hello, and welcome toepisode eleven of the Bonus episodes. So
I get twice to say this onegoes to eleven. Got to see it
in the main episodes and also herein the bonus episode. So once again
I welcome myself and Kyle along withno chance. She has a body part
(00:33):
of the size of grapefruits. It'sMichelle and she is here to help us
with the deciphering. Hey, Ijust am leaving it out there. Holy
cow, we are into our thirdweek. Yeah this is We are one
one minute and six seconds and we'realready out the rails. This is the
(00:56):
third week of new matchups in thenew format, and the new winners are
now decided by the Facebook page.Last week was Metallica versus led Zeppelin.
Metallica the Black album, which cameout in nineteen ninety one versus led Zeppelin's
fourth record, which came up innineteen seventy one. What's weird about this
is led Zeppeland won that round, which like buy a landslide, well,
(01:17):
buy a landslide, but not reallyin the If you just look at the
polls, it was like twenty eightto four or something like that, but
if you look at everybody's comments,it was like everybody felt the same way
that I did it. I thinkif I would have chose a different Metallica
album, it would have won.We actually got feedback like that, so
but I don't, well, we'vewe've already beat this to death. But
(01:38):
I don't have any problem with theBlack Album myself. So me personally,
I think the Black Album has thebest chance against the led Zeppeland four,
but we've already gone over though,I'll agree with us. So having said
that, we are going to gointo what we heard back from everybody on
Facebook about it with our new segment. Leave that, Joe, Why about
(02:01):
that? Right? Roll be withoutfaith backs? What would rock and roll
be without feedback? David gilmore. So, we are going to have Michelle
and Kyle read off some of thefeedback that we got from everybody regarding this
week's matchup. And this is wherewhat I was talking about. You're gonna
find out that this wasn't as closeas the numbers would show you. I
(02:23):
don't even know who to go tofirst. Kyle has his page ready,
so we'll go to Kyle. Whatkind of feedback did you have over there?
Kyle? This is a long onefrom Mike Dee, but I'm gonna
shorten it up a little bit.Mike Dee self proclaimed biggas Fleetwood macfan in
the world, but he also talkedto Stevie Nicks once one on one for
like an hour and a half,so I might give him that throne.
So but the dude loves his rock, that's for sure. Dude loves his
(02:45):
rock. What do you got,Kyle? He did say that LEDs Up
in four is one of his leastfavorite ledds Up albums, but it still
comes out on top because Mettegola's Blackalbum was a letdown for him when it
came out. Like we were sayingbefore, is everyone I think if I
would have chose a differenttil album, they would have won, because he's all
for you and just this for all. I ve eminently disagree with my con
(03:07):
as far as this tournament goes, because Justice, I'll tell you right now,
Justice, if we put that inthis tournament, that wouldn't have made
it out of the first round withMichelle, There's no way. I mean,
it's full of nine minute speed metalsocks Dark side of the Moon.
It was up against dark side ofthe moon. It was up against the
dark side of the moon. Whymust you twist the blade? Go on,
(03:29):
Kyle? What else does this say? Oh? He also mentions about
how, like how I always saywhen I vote for something that good memories
can be triggered by something well soakenbad memories. So and I feel like
led Zeppelin four has that so muchin its favor, Like nobody has a
bad memory associated with led Zeppelin four, Like nobody, it's usually led Zeppelin
four stories are I got high end? Yeah, I would say, like
(03:51):
a lot of Metago stories are likewe broke up and I went and blasted
this album. It's probably yeah,yeah, you're really you're You're corrected by
the lads up and let's see whatelse we got. Joe h So it
was not an easy call for himbecause he likes both albums. He'd be
more likely to listen to the blackalbum if both we're sitting there, I
agree, Yes, yeah, he'sone. I think he ends up voting
(04:13):
for the platform. Yeah, yep, so it says, but that's mostly
because it's been so long since I'velistened to the whole led Zeppelin album,
you and I both it's been atleast four weeks. Yes, he did
say he would take Metaelica, butit's based on bias, bias more than
anything else. Yeah, just thathe hasn't listened forever. But also and
somewhere in here there's some feedback beinglike, well I own one and not
(04:33):
the other. Yeah, And that'sthe same thing like if you haven't if
you haven't listened to led Zeppelin fourso long, and you've listened to the
Black album more recently than you probablyliked the Black Album more. You know.
I have Jamie p who gives anovel here, which I love because
I'd love to hear reasoning behind people'sboots, his feedback, his bed stellar
(04:54):
I know so far. He's agreat guy and he goes on he just
from top to bottom. If youget a chance to go look at it
on our Facebook page. But hegives a very good analysis of the way
the album is put out for LEDsUplin, the song choices and where the
sides turnover and the whole thing isjust amazing. But he does say that
in the end that the reason he'svoting for LEDs Uplin for it's because he
in addition to all the other things, is because that's the album he ultimately
(05:16):
owns on vinyl, and he doesnot own the Black Album. But he
also says that there's too many stinkerson the Black Album. So and I
and I'm not at all try I'mstill not trying to insult the Black Album.
But there are stinkers on the BlackAlbum, and I gave, and
I gave what I think is thereason for that, though, I think
it's a victim of the time.Yeah, Yeah, Like I think when
(05:38):
when Bob Rock and Electra, Ithink they were on Electra at the time
record label, they were probably like, no, see he holds seventy four
minutes and give us as close tothat as possible. You know, you're
sometimes you're gonna get some stinkers outof that. Friend of the Show Joe
actually referenced that post by Jamie andhis post, which yeah, he totally
did. Yeah, he shows LEDsup when over Metallica, but not by
(06:00):
much, he said. Jimmy Portersummed it up my thoughts almost exactly.
Although I would disagree that the filleron the Black Album is far from there.
The worst Metallica has to offer, and he says, see Death Magnetic
and I couldn't agree more. SeeDeath Magnetic and or sat Anger. Yes,
both of those. What else yougot, Michelf I have Dara Dara
dr Dara knows her way around somemusic, so sounds like it. She
(06:24):
definitely votes for a LEDs upland aswell, but she said that if it
was a choice between led Zeplan fourand Kill Them All Master Puppets or in
Justice for All, should be verytorn. But if it's since it's the
Black album, she votes for LEDwell. And the thing I would say
to Dara is that we have toremember that we had to play to our
audience to a senate with this likeno and being totally serious. For example,
(06:48):
myself, I would have entered bador history way before Thriller in a
in an album trend right, okay, But because I know that you love
want to be starting something Billy JeanNature Pyt like Pyt is one of my
least favorite Michael Jackson tracks, butI know you love it. So I
(07:09):
also assume that most people, outof all the Metallic albums, have heard
the Black Album. It's like theone that they would recognize songs off of
so yeah, for sure. ButI'll tell you this, if we would,
I think in Justice Falls single greatestmetal record ever made in the history
of the world. And she wouldhave made it through part of Blackened and
been like, I'm not listening tothe rest of this. He made it
(07:29):
through the one we made her listento. Yeah, the whole rest of
the tournament would have been like, well, it's just me and Kyle because
Michelle isn't going to be here forit, so I don't know who's up,
Michelle. You've got some more feedback. I have Alex, who says
that he's the resident Metallica fan onGNR forums. He was even finding himself
in a difficult situation. He doescall the Black album a masterpiece, but
(07:50):
he does think that LEDs upland pavedthe way, so he's going with I
was really surprised by that, andI think not to out him, but
I think his musing him is likeMetallics, like, yeah, I think
on the farms if I remember right, So, like, he's coming from
the heart and I've known this kidsince a kid. I've known him since
at least two thousand and four orso. On the farms, and no
(08:11):
matter what, he's always like,uh, you know, if you're like,
hey, G and R did thisperformance, He's like, yeah,
but Metallica wouldn't done it better. So he's you know, things like that,
though, are what I was talkingabout about how razor thin this margin
really was. The Black album isa masterpiece. I agree, he said,
raising the people's eyebrow at Michelle.Let's see what else we got.
(08:33):
Chris A said he went back andforth with this since Friday. It's a
tough call, but I feel likehaving Stairway to Heaven on this album is
a slight edge I needed to comeout on top. It is also on
his top five list of best rocksongs ever. Yeah, so that's Chris
A is a really learned guy asfar as music goes like he's a student
(08:54):
of music. He's a guy whereyou know, Michelle and I will talk
to anybody who will listen to usabout The Long Bellow and that's not his
type of music at all. Thathe doesn't like indie folk or anything,
but the dude listen to their discographyjust to be like, Okay, well
this means that much to you.So I'm going to listen to it,
you know, and so for himto say, hey, this is this
is really close as you know, and I also agree, I cannot disagree
(09:20):
with that. I didn't say thison the on the episode, but I
would argue that Stairway kind of brokethe mold open the door for the power
ballot, like you know what Imean, like for for bands to be
like, oh we can we cando that, like we can be known
for raucus and do that. Youknow. Now, it wasn't followed up
on a great deal for you untillike the late eighties is when the power
(09:43):
ballot became a thing. But Iwould argue that Stairway opened that door.
Maybe maybe we get dream On becauseof Stairway. Maybe we get some of
the hard tracks, you know, you know, maybe well we know we
got the hard tracks because of Zepplinbecause they were Zepplin cover band before they
were a band. But what elsedo we got? I have one more?
Jeffrey Dee says that he hearts theBlack album, but LEDs up and
four is literally as he's got anactual heart. Did that's how much heat?
(10:09):
That's how much he loves that record. Thank you, But hold real
quick, you didn't write or recordthe Black Album. Correct, I did
not. I did not have ahand in that. I wish I did
that. Well, Lars, thanksyou, I guess he got up on
a step stool. He said thatLad's Up and four is literally a masterpiece
of rock and roll. So manybands were influenced by the one album and
(10:31):
he can listen to it front toback all day and it's definitely in his
top five, if not his topDesert Island pick. Wow, that's and
you know what's funny is I didn'tinclude it, but one of Jeff's follow
up several hours later, he commentedon his own comment and he was like,
I'm listening to the Black Album rightnow. And I said, you
can still change your vote, youknow, and he was like, no,
I'm gonna stick with LEDs Up,you know. So, but I
(10:52):
thought it was funny that, like, you know, his instant thing was
LEDs Uplin four. But then listento the Black Album again. Going into
this, I would have never thoughtthat they were so close together like people
were. Wouldn't be sure they're bothbecause I'm Hotster Records. As far as
sales, yeah, they're both enormous. Yeah, it's just yeah me,
(11:13):
because I'm so like automatically like Metallica, like over it. Just I didn't
know that everything yet. That's interest, That's that's news to me. What
do you have any more done?I'm fresh out? Oh are you fresh?
Though? Well? We cannot stressenough how much we love the feedback.
I think it's fantastic to hear thistype of stuff, and to say
(11:33):
that we edited down some of thosecomments would be an understatement. Like it
was like a lot, a lotput into this, and I honestly I
think this current week matchup that wehave as a whole different animal, and
I think going forward we're going tosee more of that where people are like,
oh crap, this is a hardchoice and I need to I should
say we did have a whole bunchof I don't want to leave anybody out.
(11:54):
We had a whole lot of commentsthat were what what I said up
more than acceptable just a comment blackalbum, We appreciate you too. We
actually had someone leave a gift thatwas a person screaming black, like just
the word black, and I waslike, got it. You know.
We had another person to leave agift that was that cycles through all the
(12:16):
Metallica cover album covers to their albumsrather, and I was like, well,
that person's I always like going toMetallica. So but these, like
Michelle said, even if you youdon't think at this level about these records,
just reading through this, yeah, you know, there was one thing
in Jamie Porter's comment where he wastalking about vinyl as a format. Yeah,
(12:37):
where I've never thought about that beforein my lifetime. If I was
tracking led Zeppelin for digital release orfor a CD, I would never follow
Stairway with Misty Mountain hope. Butif you're going to end up on and
she's buying a Stairway to Heaven, fade out, flip over the record light
whatever, make mix or whatever, drop the needle, dude, dude,
(12:58):
do do Like that's perfect, youknow so, And I could be wrong,
but I think there was something inthere about like this is why you
should listen to vinyl. Oh,yeah for sure. Yeah, yeah,
And I love that, like Ilove that. I love that level of
it. And again that goes moretoward what I was talking about with Metallica.
Metallica very much came out in thecdge you listen to that straight through
(13:20):
the way it was, you know, I forget what's at the midpoint.
I feel like the guy that failedis somewhere in the midpoint of the record.
Yeah, maybe after where I'm aroom. Like if I was tracking
that for vinyl, I probably wouldhave done it way different than it is
on the CD. You know.So anyways, we greatly appreciate all of
that feedback and it is very verycool for us to get it and read
(13:41):
it, and it helps us understandeven more about the records, I think
for sure. So this week's matchup, if you if you go to the
internet and you type, it's awhole thing going forward, this episode of
this show is gonna is gonna comeup. Yeah, So this week's matchup
(14:01):
is Dermott Kennedy with his debut record, right, Dermott Kennedy with his debut
record Without Fear, which knocked outthis completely terrible record by the Beach Boys
called pet Sounds Versus p Peril Jamten, which knocked out the Weekend Trilogy.
Which is interesting because we have fourrecords involved here and only one of
(14:22):
them is not a debut album theother the other three were. But Dermott
Kennedy apparently pulled out the world's Greatestdebut record in the history of the game
since he knocked out pet Sounds. So we are going to take a quick
break and we will be back totalk about our thoughts on Dermott Kennedy without
Fear. Probably the greatest record everrecorded, I would assume, yeah,
(14:45):
definitely better than Pet Sounds. We'llbe back in a minute. Hey,
I'm Pancel Sarin. This is Stevieand I'm Aggie and we are bfy tw
podcast all about playing games and havingfun. Our games are usually based on
British panel shows and game shows, but we'll play anything that captures our attention
(15:05):
and imagination. Why it's right therein the title. You'll never guess what
the F stands for. Once upona time boring. It was the best
of times, it was the worst. You got that right, what's your
problem? We want new stories?Hi, it's Frankie and Garrett and we
(15:26):
host The Ever Trending Story, aweekly podcast where we bring to life a
fictional story created by our own mindsand some of the hottest, craziest trends
from the Internet. Find us whereveryou download podcast, and be sure to
join the fun on social media atever Trending pot we're back. We had
(15:48):
a whole bunch of cool feedback toshare with everybody and discuss in the first
half. We cannot thank you enoughfor that. We are going to need
a lot of it going forward becausethis is going to get harder and as
the tournament goes on, I thinkwe've only got three or four episodes left
to week. Crown the first championof the Infection Screw Podcast Tournament. Just
as a reminder, this is thiswas thrown together very haphazardly when the health
(16:11):
crisis came about. We kind ofreached out to a couple of people and
said what do we do and gota couple ideas and throw this together.
We have received a lot of feedback, people saying, you know, oh,
you should have done it this wayor that way, and in the
future we'll work that out. Thedecisions, yeah, I said, I'm
still going to make the decisions.I don't think so. I'm gonna doubt
(16:33):
that. But in any case,do you know what the internet is?
Have you read it recently? Whaton the internet? Yeah? Where there's
a reason why we just discussed everyone'sthoughts on records because no one liked yours
at all. Speaking of no oneliking your opinions on records. This week's
(16:56):
matchup is Dermott Kennedy's debut record WithoutFear versus Pearl jams debut record ten.
And this is another one where Imight have entered. No I know for
sure I would have entered Pearl jamsbest record in arguably yield their fifth record
in the tournament. But I didn'tbecause I figured ten would fare better with
(17:17):
our judge, and it ended upfaring better with our judge. And we
know that Without Fear definitely fared wellwith our judge because it mapped out that
pos record that I had the nerveto put into a tournament. I don't
know. I have no idea whyI entered that record that in Dark Side
of the Moon and appetite for destruction? What was I even thinking? And
(17:41):
again with appetite for destruction, Iwould have entered Chinese democracy. Oh I
bet I would have passed just onbetter alone. Damn it. Anyways,
hindsight my bad dog. Damn anyway. So let's go to our votes.
Apparently somebody's got somewhere to be We'llgo to our votes. Now. This
one I said this week I thoughtwould be interesting for you because you very
(18:03):
much like Pearl jam Ten Kyle.I just realized I'm gesturing and no one
can see that. So I'm gonnasay, Kyle, something episodes in it.
You're just not realizing. No,no, no, I say I.
When I do the eniting, Iknow that I'm I know I say
Michelle or Kyle, And just nowI was absolutely not saying, just gesturing
towards you. But for me,I thought that this would be interesting for
(18:26):
you. I might be about tobe proved completely wrong, but for you,
if you're picking if again, bothalbums are laying on the table Without
Fear and Pearl jam Ten, whichone are you picking up? I have
an explanation it is so it's withoutFear, but go on, no no,
so okay, I very very veryback up. See what happ happened
(18:51):
was I very very very very veryvery very much love without Fear, and
I become that crazy person in thecar you see at the stop plate,
like seeing along with the songs ifI played that in my car. But
I absolutely cannot disrespect any better likethat. You just can't. But damn
it, I'm gonna try so hardto get over this. But Brian Wilson,
No, Like I have more ofa connection to Eddie better than I
(19:15):
do Brian Wilson No. And thenthis is why I said I thought this
was gonna be HARV. Ten isa freaking masterpiece. First album, tenth
album. It's a freaking masterpiece.Yeah, it really is. Now,
what what is it that makes onebetter for you than the other? Is
it a memory thing? Or Yeah, as much as great of a record
(19:36):
without as without fear is I havemore of a more of a connection to
ten because of my past listening toit over and over again. In the
end, if they were both layingon the table right now, we could
blast either one. Your first choiceis going to be yeah, yeah,
without fear. It's very much mylike singing at the top of my lungs
in my car jam CD. Butlike, if you had both records like
(19:56):
on the table right now, I'dprobably picked the program. But Pearl James
the say way though, yeah, well you know what I mean, Like,
who amongst us can't scream out toalmost every song, even the ones
you don't understand what hell and he'stalking about? You're just like, like,
I think it's the second verse toeven flow back seat living on Saturday
morning. It's once actually, butlike, as soon as he gets back
(20:17):
out of backseat lover on a Saturdaymorning, I'm like, but like,
I'm enjoying the hell out of almostsinging it along with it. Michelle,
why don't you screw this up forall of us? We were having a
moment just now, And what isyour choice between the two? Kennedy,
You are going to get your hopesand dreams so dashed this week. For
(20:37):
me, here's here's why I willpick Pearl jam Ten over Dermott Kennedy every
day of the night and twice onSunday. And I made notes about this.
Okay, I'm gonna say songs fromPearl jam Ten right now. Oceans
Deep Garden once one of the bestopening tracks of all time and release and
(20:59):
release arguably one of the best closingtracks of all time. Do you know
what all five of those songs havein common outside of the fact that they're
amazing? What they're one word titles? None of them are even singles.
I don't know any of those songs, of course you don't just kidding,
of course you don't. All ofthose songs that every that I just named
that. Every listener was just like, oh what a jam Jam? None
(21:22):
of those are even singles alive, even flow Jeremy Black. I mean,
come on the records fully loaded,But do you have power over me?
Or what have I done? Boomor yeah lost? No, you don't
have those on the Pearl Jam,right. I have better songs so that
I scream in the car. Youknow what also has better songs than what
(21:48):
it's from nineteen sixty sicks. It'sa record by the Beach Boys and it's
called pet Song. But no butcommon and I don't mind. I go
back to what I said about thisalbum on the episode because I re listened
to our episode to be like whatexactly, because I had a lot of
points that I liked about Dremott Kennedyrecord and what Pearl Jam is doing on
(22:10):
ten no one had really done beforeand what well, if that's what we
were judging, then yeah, wellof course that's what we're judging. We're
judging the strength of the record. No, you're saying, if you put
them both on the table, whichone did you listen to? You're telling
me that you absolutely would pick upDremott Kennedy before Pearl jam to insane.
That is insane, is it?Because once it's a terrible open. That's
(22:33):
it. It's not what it's said. Oh really, hold on real quick.
Did you listen back to the episodeto do research or no? So
I know what I said. Iwas there. You can't confirm what you
said. Don't listen to myself talk. So it's fine. So I just
like I just between these two records, man, And I'm still not discounting
(22:56):
Dremott Kennedy's record. It's a goodsound. I'm not though it wasn't.
I wasn't in the pet Zunes episodeeither, Like I really really love that.
They're my candy record. But there'sjust like when we were in Seattle
and we went to the MoPOP Museumthere and they had the whole big spread
of all the pearl Jam stuff.I was just like staring at the like
his lyric books, just staring like, oh my god, Like Eddie Vetter
wrote that right there, and Iwas like, I just watched, of
(23:18):
course you were, I just watched. We've talked about this before. Rick
Piatto has a series of videos onYouTube called what makes This Song Great?
And like two days ago he putone out about the song Black on Pearl
Jam ten Monster Monster Cut Right, and Eddie Vetter wrote the lyrics. I
learned this in the Rick Pyatto video. He wrote the lyrics of that song
while he was still working as agas station attendant in San Diego, and
(23:42):
they got hold of him and sentthe demo tracks to him, and he
was driving up from San Diego toSeattle and wrote the lyrics to Black on
the way, like just every sooften something would cross his mind. And
if ten was an instrumental record andonly had the line at the end of
Black, I know someday you'll havea beautiful life. I know you'll be
a star and somebody else's sky,why can't it be mine? The whole
(24:04):
record would be on fire lyrically. That lyric is like soul touching and there,
and both albums are completely different,Like I wouldn't be listening to them
at the same times, like youknow, like I put on like Kennedy
for like I don't know, likeemotional release maybe, but I'm very much
like did rock out to Pearl Jams, So it's like that I would be
(24:25):
listening. Well, I would saythat there's elements on ten that are on
the Dermot Kennedy record though, Yeah, and they're mostly found on side too
Oceans, Yeah, Garden. Idon't even think I mentioned Garden. Oh
I did mention her Oceans Garden release. I feel like those songs have that
same vein to them. But sideone is very rocking affair and when ten
came out, the biggest problem inmy head with when Ted came out was
(24:48):
people were instantly referring to it asa grunge record, and it's not at
all. I'm the same guy thatclaims that never Mind is not a grunch
record either. I just don't.I think in Utero is a grunge record.
I think Ptology is it grunge record. But if you look at what
grunge is supposed to be sound Garden, you know, Alison Chains, that
(25:10):
is not what you find when youlisten to ten. Ten is a very
like straightforward rock record. I wouldn'tsay God bless Mike McCready and Stone Gossard.
Their guitar work on this record isjust stunning. Yeah, absolutely,
Yeah, Well, I mean Iwant to cut that part out, yeah,
(25:30):
to the trailer for next week.I mean, I'll put it in
the trailer next week. Just forlike the whole uh you know, like
Cliffhanger esk it will be like that'sinsane. He didn't say that, So
I mean, I, like Isaid last week, I felt that coming
(25:52):
into this you were going to feelthat way. I mean, that's it's
a hard choice to me. Itis because I enjoy both of them very
much, and it doesn't surprise me. And I don't mean that, like
it doesn't surprise me that you saidthat, but like you very much like
Mumford, and you very much likeDavid Gray, and that's what Dermott Kennedy
is doing. But for me,no one had done what Pearl Jam did
(26:15):
before on ten. No one haddone that. Alison Chains had done Facelift,
you know, like they had donethe introduction to grunge. Soundgarden had
done Bad motor Finger, the introductionto grudge was laid out there. Everybody
from Eddie Ford had done a hugesolo, right. Pearl Jam literally did
it all on one record, andit was their debut record. Yeah.
(26:37):
So, and there's a lot offirsts on there too, Like there's a
lot like Pearl Jam has their soundand it's founded on that record, and
then it builds from there up tilltheir fifth record and everything after the fifth
record of Scarbage and their fourth fourthrecord of Scarbage too. I'm talking to
you, friend of the so Joel. Oh yeah, we have a listener,
(26:59):
friend of the show, Joe,who is under the impression that Pearl
Jam's fourth album No Code is good. He's wrong, doesn't He also like
Relapse? Yeah? He likes Relapse, so you know, yeah, I
for Reel, was just about tomake a joke about like we're going to
(27:22):
set up a gofund me for likeJoe's family, and then you laid that
down, and I was like,I can't pile on that joke. I'm
certain I'll get a text from himafter I say this to him. There
is a Weezer record that he playedfor me that I like, and I
can never remember what it is,but it's no it's good enough to where
I keep being like, I'm goingto buy that Weezer record, and then
(27:45):
I don't ever buy the Weezer record. Tell me again, Okay, So
well, okay, let me letme put it this way. You both
like John Mayer, continue them fantasticJohn May record. Right. I was
also in that area with friends ofthe show Joe where I kept being like,
keep me needing to buy continue andthen he bought it for me for
my birthday, So problem solved. So I need to come up with a
reason why he should buy me,uh the Weeezel record for he does just
(28:10):
like gifting records, so I know, yeah, what do you give you?
Recently, No Way Out has hasheard about on the show. Yes,
talking about it on the show.So that's where we're at. Now
we have from from us Holy Cow. We have two votes for Sanity with
Pearl Jam, with two votes forPearl Jam ten and one vote from Michelle
(28:33):
for Dermott Kennedy. I feel likeat this point, this is your stubborn
nests kicking in, like you're justdigging your heels. You're telling me that
Black Buy Pearl Jam is not anybetter than every song on that record,
just that I will put that onesong up against that hole. It's not
she she had no emotion once whateverwe went and saw that Pearl Jam stuff,
(28:55):
so I believe her. She didn'tcare at all. I mean,
yeah, but she doesn't. Shedidn't have any Like Brian Wilson had a
mental breakdown and recovery and wrote aboutit in luscious harmonies and orchestrations and putting
his soul out there. And shewas like, Nope, So I'm not
(29:17):
surprised at all by the lack ofemotion shown. It doesn't do anything for
me. What emotion too? Andprojam Yeah. So this episode will come
out on Friday as always, andthen we'll do our usual social media posting
and it'll be up to the listenersto provide their votes. One thing I
want to make clear, and we'vemade a whole lot of jokes on this
(29:40):
episode about the whole pet Sounds dermocny thing. I have had people send
me posts via Twitter and text andmusic forums saying I'm going to vote for
pet sounds to be funny. Don'tvote for pet sounds to be funny.
And this is me making this roule. This is not Michelle and Kyle making
this rule. If you vote forpet Sounds, your vote will count.
That's already lost, man. Yeah, so god damn it. Please make
(30:06):
sure that when you cast your vote, you cast your vote for Pearl jam
Ten versus Dermott Kennedy without fear, and please do what Jamie Porter does,
do what Joe does, do whatChris Adams does give both of these records,
I'll listen. Don't just go,oh, well, I know Pearl
jam ten and that's great. Andso I'm gonna I am actually excited about
that because I feel like before wedid this whole thing, like maybe a
(30:27):
lot of people that are listeners wouldnot have listened to that Dermot Kennedy record.
Yeah, so I want to knowother people think about it, because
I find it to be fantastic. But no, God damn it, I
do too. No, you donot I do. When it's not going
against the greatest record ever made.I find it to be fantastic. The
greatest record ever made. It absolutelyis. And come forward to you,
(30:48):
Mike when you're gonna I'm gonna yellat you. Yes, please come forward
to you, Mike when you're gonnayell at me. So anyways, I
know we've we've all had a lotof fun, myself included. I.
I've had as much fun as Ican have with pets getting knocked out of
a tournament. And so please makesure that you leave the reasons why and
if you don't have time to listento both records, I'm sure that if
(31:11):
you were gonna vote for ten thatyou've heard it a million times, you
know, give the Dermot Kennedy record. I'll listen and then just you know,
leave your thoughts. And you don'thave to be like Chris Adams or
Jamie Porter. You don't have toleave us you know, a big list
of why, but you know,at least give me both of these records
a shot. That's one of thebig reasons why I wanted to start a
(31:33):
music podcast is to get people listeningto music more and maybe listen to things
they normally wouldn't. So if nothingelse for me, that's like I personally
never would have found this record, and I like it a lot. So
please, by all means, makesure that you listen to both and then
leave us your thoughts on both, and then after that this record. After
we get all of that feedback, the record, the winning record from this
(31:56):
tournament will move on and next week. I don't envy anybody outside of myself
in this one, because I alreadyhave my winner. Between these two and
the next week's matchup, Holy Cowis Michael Jackson's thriller Versus Prince and The
Revolution's Purple Rain, I have toassume we're going to get like, yeah,
we're gonna get like novels people becauseyou can't. It's at that point
(32:22):
it's like picking children. I thinkyou know what I mean, Like,
I think it really is. Everyonehas a favorite child. Yeah, I
know between these two, I havea favorite child. So we greatly appreciate
all the feedback. Make sure thatyou listen to Dermott Kennedy without fear of
Pearl jam Ten and then get readyfor next week after you leave your feedback
(32:42):
on facebook page. We greatly appreciatelistening by
