One of the things going around in our society today is the infectious “Being Offended” Energy.

While the root cause of this is up for debate and somewhat controversial where everyone takes things so seriously, there is proof that being offended is low level emotional intelligence, and the end result is staying stuck in your ideas.

Staying stuck in your ideas is not servicing your joy or the world at large. When we stay stuck to our ideas our growth screeches to a halt. Ideas can change, people can change their mind. I know the things I believed when I was 21 are a heck of a lot different now. Remember when we believed there was a Santa Claus?

All kidding aside, your ideas need to change over time. That’s how we mature. That’s how we grow. And one way to do this is to listen and try to understand other’s opinions. The magic in this relies in something simple….Asking Questions.

Jordan Peterson’s concept is “Have a conversation assuming the other person knows something you may not.” What an amazing place to start. And if that conversation leads to being offended, ask yourself why. What inside of you is going to your reactive brain. Your Lizard Brain? Is there something there for you to explore?

This Podcast is about that. Being offended is an invitation to look inward. We do that, we may learn something, or we may just come to terms with the fact what we believed is in true alignment with our current self. Both equal growth.
