For this special episode of Inner Space, Dr. Barbara discusses a subject that is difficult and challenging – but one that is very important for us to talk about. She sits down with Dr. Jennifer Ashton, who you may recognize from her appearances on "Good Morning America” as the Chief Medical Officer for ABC News. Sadly, in 2017, Jennifer lost someone very close to her to suicide. As a result, she has written a very powerful book, Life After Suicide, that is helping families heal after an unthinkable loss. Next, Dr. Barbara catches up with another good friend and colleague, Dr. Keita Franklin, the National Director of Suicide Prevention for the US Department of Veterans Affairs. Dr. Franklin’s career – first with the Department of Defense and now at the VA – has been devoted to saving the lives of those who serve our country. Each of these guests are helping us change the way we think about, talk about and address the mental health challenges that lead to emotional pain and suffering.  Host Dr Barbara Van Dahlen Executive Producer Adell Coleman Producer Jackie Garofano Associate Producer Brandon Tagoe Technical Producer Greg Schweizer Talent and Booking Team: A Lopez Media Distributor: DCP Entertainment (edited)  See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.
