Yeti Nano (2- Yeti Nano) (00:33):
Hey friend, welcome to my shower
sprinkles.
Wait, did I just say showersprinkles?
Yes, I sure did.
Let me tell you what showersprinkles are.
You'll be hearing a showersprinkle every other week in
between my guests and I doingdeep dives.
Shower sprinkles are actuallywhat they sound like.
To me, it's a spot where I getthose creative thoughts and

(00:56):
ideas.
It's a moment when I'm in theshower, letting the water hit
me, and these thoughts, theseideas, fully just come to me.
Today, actually, when I was inthe shower, I had the thought
of, like, weird.
I wonder why I did this.
Besides the fact that I love thelake, when did this start

(01:17):
happening?
I was just standing therethinking.
and letting my brain wonder.
And then it came to me.
A mentor of mine, RachelJackson, she actually does this
meditation, and it's called cordcutting.
And I do it every single night.
It's about five minutes long, and it helps me go to sleep.
And when she walks you throughthis process, it's a process of

(01:39):
like the water, you're standingin the water, it's flowing over
you, and it's just like washingaway.
Everything from the day Ibelieve that I connected to.
When I first started doing apodcast, I joked with my friends
that if I could record in theshower, I would.

(02:01):
When I get in the shower, it'slike everything from the day.
Like all those thoughts, anyworries from the day.
It's like they're just washing.
I can feel them just likewashing off my body and just
like watching them swirl away.
And if you know me, you knowthat my head goes a lot and I go

(02:22):
a lot.
So it's actually a time where Iget out of my head.
My head becomes clear.
It's like I'm opening my heart.
And if you could see me rightnow.
My hand is on my heart when I'mtalking to you.
It's just like it expands widerand wider and wider and I just

(02:42):
feel like my body, it getsfilled up with all this new
creative energy.
I feel so grounded and it truly, these thoughts truly just drop
in.
Sometimes I get in the showerand I'm listening to a podcast.
So sometimes it may be someonesays a word and then my head

(03:03):
just takes, that word or thosethoughts.
And the ideas just come fromthere.
Today, I want to ask you, whatdoes coming home to you mean?
I think it's really important.
And one of the very first thingsI learned is how to turn my
brain off, how to connectmyself, and how to come home to

(03:25):
myself.
So that can have severalmeanings, and you can do it
several ways.
But to me, when I come home tomyself, It's like dropping into
my body dropping into my heartlike truly filling whatever
needs to be felt Letting thingsgo and then letting the good

(03:47):
flow in It's like we're all thecreativity just starts to flow
in my body all these really coolideas pop up in my head, and it
actually really excites me.
whether you meditate, do breathwork, however you ground
yourself, it may be likewalking, putting your feet in

(04:10):
the grass, you know the feelingof like fresh cut grass on your
feet, walking through it.
I mean, I know you can probablyeven smell it as I'm talking
about it.
Or maybe you're standing on somewarm concrete.
Putting your toes in the sand?
Maybe it's standing on top of amountain.

(04:31):
Whatever your thing is, I wantyou to think today, how do you
come home to yourself?
And when you do, how do you letthat creativity flow in?
How do you drop into your ownbody?
How do you drop into your ownmind?

(04:51):
I'm super curious.
I challenge you to go dosomething today.
Even if it's just taking a walk,go do something where you can
turn your brain off.
By the way, I'm here to tell youthat it didn't come easy for me,
and I'm still a work inprogress, but I'm growing every

(05:14):
single day, and that's whattruly matters.
I hope you continue to listen tomy shower sprinkles, now that
you know what they are.
I'm gonna encourage you today gofind some place where you can
allow yourself to drop in andLet the creativity flow and
while you're at it.

(05:34):
Let those sparks fly, too

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
