It’s Not Supposed To Be This Way - Week 2

Have you ever looked at your life and thought, “This isn’t how it’s supposed to be”? Maybe you’re overwhelmed by the outcome of your circumstances, but the good news is: In Christ, you can overcome the outcome.

In a world full of grief, trauma, and pain, it’s easy to feel stuck or lost. But the first step toward healing is understanding where our pain really comes from. Misplacing blame—on God, others, or even ourselves—can trap us in unnecessary shame or blind us to the lessons God wants to teach. Today, we begin to unpack the three main “perpetrators” of pain, starting with the brokenness of the fallen world we live in.

In John 11, Mary and Martha were overwhelmed by the death of their brother Lazarus—just like many of us are overwhelmed by the things we’ve lost. But Jesus shows us that even when it feels like He’s late, He is still working for God’s glory. He doesn’t offer cheap relief—He offers resurrection.

This week, discover how the overwhelming burden of spiritual sickness—sin—points us to our desperate need for a Savior. Even when we feel abandoned or confused, Jesus steps into our pain. He weeps with us. He calls us by name. And if we’ll let Him, He’ll roll the stone away and call us out of the grave into new life.

You may be in the tomb today—but Jesus is still in the resurrection business.
