Jesus Gets Our Struggles - Week 4

In Philippians 2, the apostle Paul challenges us to have the same mindset as Christ—a mindset of humility, simplicity, and obedience. Though Jesus was fully God, He did not cling to His divine privileges. Instead, He humbled Himself, stepping into our world to live a life of struggle, hardship, and service. He was born in a manger, raised in a humble home, and lived among the poor and outcast. He chose to experience the full weight of human suffering—not because He had to, but because of His deep love for us.

Jesus understands our struggles because He lived them. He knew exhaustion from hard labor, the sting of rejection, and the pain of grief. He had no home of His own, no earthly riches, and faced constant opposition. Yet, through it all, He remained obedient to God’s will. His greatest act of humility was found on the cross. Though He could have saved Himself, He chose to endure suffering and humiliation so that we could be reconciled to God.

Because Jesus walked this path, we can take comfort in knowing He truly gets our pain, our fears, and our burdens. When life feels overwhelming, we can look to Him for strength. His humility shows us that true greatness is found in serving others. He doesn’t promise an easy road, but He does promise to walk with us through every trial. In Him, we find the ultimate example of love, sacrifice, and hope.
