Another fantastic interview for the Riding Instructor Interview Series, with Bethany Tuskey.
She emphasizes creating thinking riders, staying away from extreme thinking in the horse world, and learning to communicate effectively with your horse.
Bethany’s love of horses began at an early age, and she has dedicated her life to learning the art of horsemanship from master horse trainers. She has studied the arts of classical dressage, liberty work, work in hand, and long reining. Bethany has taken what she has learned from other trainers as well the horses, and combined it with her spiritual beliefs to create a unique style of training based on love for the horse.
She says: "Our horse is treated as our partner and our relationship with the horses always takes priority over anything we may want to achieve with them. Through relationships built on mutual trust and understanding, we are able to train our horses without any use of force."
Bethany enjoys teaching lessons and clinics as well as performing with her Andalusians at various shows and exhibitions. It is her goal to share her unique training style and show people how they too can take their relationship with their horse to a whole new level.
