In this episode, we explore how subtle soul whispers and life’s quiet nudges can become turning points in your spiritual journey - if you know how to recognise and trust them.

Most people imagine spiritual awakenings as lightning bolts: sudden, ecstatic, undeniable. But for most of us, it doesn’t happen that way. It begins quietly. With a whisper.

That subtle tug in your chest. The ache that says this isn’t working anymore. The beauty that cracks you open when you least expect it. These moments are not coincidences, they are the soul’s earliest invitations to awaken.

In this episode, Tatiana shares a deeply personal story about how an unexpected dog became the mirror that revealed a lifetime of self-abandonment, and how listening to the whisper became the first step in transforming her life.

Blending grounded psychology with spiritual insight, she explores:

  • Why the “whisper” is often the first language of spiritual growth
  • What’s actually happening in your mind and body when these moments arrive (interoception + spiritual pull)
  • Why ignoring the whisper often keeps us stuck - and how to listen without needing a clear map
  •  How these threshold moments grow your spiritual capacity and reshape your life from the inside out

Whether you’ve been walking a spiritual path for years or just feeling the first flickers of something stirring inside you, this episode is an invitation to stop waiting for clarity and start listening to the quiet.

Tatiana (00:00):
Welcome to the Integrated Wisdom Podcast.

(00:03):
I am your host, Tatiana DaSilva, psychologist, spiritual
educator, and founder of a bodyof work devoted to lead others
to remembering what we nevertruly forgot, that science and
spirit were never separate.
They are each in their own way, expressions of the same sacred

(00:23):
architecture.
This podcast is for the quietrevolutionaries, the therapists,
the seekers, the spirituallydiscerning and scientifically
curious who know that we arebeing called into a new paradigm
for personal and collectivetransformation.

(00:45):
Together we explore what itmeans to live a coherent, soul
led life drawing frompsychology, neuroscience,
epigenetics, energy medicine,and spiritual remembrance.
These aren't just conversations.
They are transmissions for thoseready to return to what's true,

(01:07):
to what's quietly waitingbeneath it.
Hello and welcome to theIntegrated Wisdom Podcast.
Thank you so much for joiningme.
I'm Tatiana.
There is a moment that happensin almost every person's life,
though most people don't reallyname it.

(01:29):
It's quiet, it's unremarkable,even just a small, almost
imperceptible pull, somewheredeep inside.
It might arrive as a sentencethat you can't quite shake or a
subtle ache that tells yousomething in your life no longer
fits.
Sometimes it comes in the formof beauty, so unexpected, it

(01:52):
takes your breath away, andOther times it's that heaviness
of pretending that everything'sfine when it's not.
Now we don't talk enough aboutthose moments, but it's often
the moment before everythingchanges.
This episode isn't about peakspiritual experiences or

(02:13):
enlightenment necessarily.
It's about something much moreordinary and far more powerful.
The whisper.
That whisper, that subtle pull, that ache in our chest, that
sentence that we can't unhear, that is often the first language
of spiritual growth.

(02:36):
And I want to begin by tellingyou a story that changed my
life, even though at the time Ididn't really see just how much
things were going to change.
Last year, my ex-husband broughthome a dog as a surprise gift to

(02:57):
me.
There was no conversation.
There was no preparation.
I was away on a work trip, andwhen I got home there, he was
this beautiful little puppy.
And in that moment, somethingvery old in me quietly just took
over.

(03:19):
I did what I have always done.
I adapted.
I organized my life aroundsomeone else's decision.
I made myself small to makespace for someone else's choice.
And I told myself that it wasfine, it was hard, but I
thought, I can get through this.
Um, this is what love lookslike.

(03:43):
And of course I did fall in lovewith that beautiful puppy
straight away.
I walked him, I fed him.
I rearranged my routine and daysto make sure that he had
everything that he needed.
But as the weeks went on, Ibegan to notice something that I
hadn't seen before.

(04:04):
Definitely not this clearly.
I was waking up early to makesure that he had his walk every
day, but before he came into mylife, I hadn't moved my body in
weeks, maybe even months, and Iplanned his meals carefully.

(04:26):
I would come home and cook forhim sometimes, but again, it had
become normal practice for me tocome home feeling too depleted
to cook for myself and justeating whatever was convenient.
I gave to him without question, but I started to see that for
myself.

(04:48):
I wasn't doing that.
I rationed everything, and so asI started to have these
recognitions, there was thisquiet whisper that I just
couldn't ignore.
You just keep abandoningyourself.

(05:10):
I didn't want to hear it, but itgot louder in its own quiet way,
until eventually it forced me tolook at the truth that I had
been avoiding for years.
I, that whisper became the firstthread that I started to pull
on, and as I followed it.

(05:33):
Unsurprisingly, from, based onthe start of this, this podcast,
my marriage unraveled not out ofcruelty or anger, but just out
of clarity.
You know, this was the momentthat I saw very clearly I, that
I had been sacrificing myself.

(05:54):
I, I wasn't being true to myselfand, and that couldn't continue.
And this is the part ofspiritual growth that no one
romanticizes, right?
It's those quiet, unglamorousmoments that rearrange our life,
but put us on the righttrajectory.

(06:19):
We talk a lot about spiritualgrowth as if it's something that
happens in retreats orceremonies or, you know,
beautiful serene mountaintops,meditating.
But real spiritual growth, thekind that changes how you live,
how you understand yourself, howyou show up usually starts with

(06:42):
something so much lessglamorous, a crack in the
ordinary, a moment where lifestops being comfortable enough
to keep you asleep.
And almost always it begins, notwith clarity.
But with something felt, it'ssubtle, a nudge, an inner

(07:06):
knowing that isn't fully formedyet.
That's the whisper that I'mtalking about.
And psychologically, this makesperfect sense.
Long before we can consciouslyname something, our brains and
body register incongruence.
Research on interception.

(07:27):
So our ability to sense internalstates shows that the body often
perceives change or the need forit long before the conscious
mind catches up.
And spiritually, it's yourdeeper self, your soul, if you
will, tugging at the fabric ofthe life you've outgrown.

(07:53):
The whisper isn't justdiscomfort, it's an invitation.
It's life saying there's more ofyou wanting to be lived.
Something old is asking to end,so something new can begin.
And for those of you who whobelieve in or understand the
concept of soul contracts, usually Either when we're

(08:17):
entering a period or we'reexiting a period of a contract,
these whispers are the bookendsthat that signal, that
transition.
The end of my marriage wasn'tjust the end of my marriage, it
was the end of a contract that Ihad with this other soul, and my

(08:38):
dog was the catalyst forbringing to the forefront.
That this chapter needed toconclude for me to be able to
move into the next chapter of mylife, which is part of the path
for why I'm here.
You know, in order for me to, tobe able to continue to pursue my
life's purpose, I needed totransition into this new state

(09:02):
and.
This experience was the catalystthat started to echo through,
through my inner, um, innerlandscape to show me, okay, now
you've ignored this long enough, you need to acknowledge this if
you're going to move on, ifyou're going to move forward to
what you need to get to.

(09:25):
And so here's why this matters.
Spiritual growth is not aboutescaping our humanity.
It's about becoming more fullyawake within it.
It's understanding that thepurpose of having our human
lives is for our spiritualgrowth.

(09:45):
And every major expansion beginswith some sort of threshold.
A place where what's familiarstarts to feel too small.
That threshold moment, thewhisper that I'm talking about.
It grows your spiritual capacityin at least three ways.
One, it wakes you up.

(10:07):
It breaks the trance of livingon autopilot.
Two, it grows your self-honesty.
You can't grow spiritually whileyou're lying to yourself about
where you are.
Self-awareness is an integralpiece of spiritual growth.
And thirdly, it activatesagency.

(10:30):
It reminds you that spiritualgrowth isn't something that
happens to you.
It's something that you areresponsible for.
You and your alone are thesteward of your own spiritual
growth and spiritual journey onthis planet.
So the whisper isn't the endpoint of your spiritual journey.

(10:53):
It's the beginning.
Of a conversation between yoursoul and your life.
And so if this whisper is soimportant, why do we so often
ignore it?
And it's usually because thesetypes of whispers are
inconvenient.

(11:13):
They don't show up on ourschedule or when it suits us.
They often threaten thecomfortable structures that we
have built, and they rarelyoffer a 10 step plan, right?
They say, this isn't it, orthere is more, but they don't
fill in the gaps.
That's up to us.

(11:34):
And so most people mistake thatdiscomfort for confusion or
weakness.
And they miss it because they'vebeen taught to silence
discomfort.
We've been conditioned to trustexternal authority over in the
knowing, so when this whisperarrives, it feels unsafe to

(11:56):
follow it.
Particularly though for those ofus who have, you know, slight
control freaks and we need toknow in advance before we can
take steps, it feels reallydaunting.
Um, but ignoring the whispersdoesn't make it go away.
It just buries it a little bitdeeper until life eventually
gets louder and forces you tosee it.

(12:21):
Right.
It feels threatening.
It feels like things can becompletely unraveled and lead to
chaos.
But what if the whisper isactually the beginning of
alignment?
In my own life, that whisperdidn't give me an instant

(12:42):
roadmap.
It just pointed me away fromeverything that wasn't true
anymore.
And ignoring it delayed what wasinevitable, but listening to it
as terrifying as it was, becamethe biggest act of self-trust
that I have ever made.
And through listening to myself, through trusting myself, that's
how I then strengthened my ownintuition, my own sense of

(13:08):
agency and sovereignty innavigating my life, in taking
charge of my spiritual growthand my purpose while I'm here.
And of course, by extension, living authentically.
So here's what I want to offeryou today.
Wherever you are in your life,if there is a whisper somewhere

(13:31):
inside you, even when you don'tfully understand yet, you don't
have to have the answers, juststart listening.
Spiritual awakenings rarelybegin with great visions.
They begin in quiet kitchens.
On late night walks.
In tears that we can't quiteexplain.

(13:53):
That's where the real workstarts.
And so I would just wanna sharewith you a few simple, gentle
ways that you can start tuningin.
Notice the moments that keeptugging at you, the ones that
don't go away when you distractyourself.
And then pay attention to thebody.

(14:14):
That tightness, the aches, theflutter.
This is all part of theconversation.
They are signposts pointing youtowards something that you need
to see.
And lastly, stop demandingcertainty from this whisper.
It's not here to give you allthe answers.
It's only here to open the doorfor you.

(14:39):
And maybe if you've been waitingfor a sign to begin your
spiritual journey, this isprobably it.
So not because I'm saying so,but because something in you
already knows that discomfort, that quiet pull, that sense that
there's something more that'snot you being lost, that's you
being called.
You don't have to know where itleads.

(15:02):
Spiritual growth rarely comeswith a map.
And so remember that yourspiritual journey doesn't begin
at the perfect moment or withthe perfect ritual.
It begins right here in thequiet, in the ordinary, with
that whisper.

(15:23):
If you're listening to this andsomething in your stirred.
If you're thinking of that onething that keeps brushing aside,
that might be your whisper, andmaybe today's the day that you
don't turn away.
I'd love to hear your storytruly.
