The UFO report is out. The reviews, mixed.
The “preliminary assessment,” delivered to Congress from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, landed like a Rorschach test.
On one hand, skeptics felt it confirmed there was nothing to the UAP phenomena. Just a bunch of fuzzy blurs.
On the other, believers heralded the report as the leading edge of an official change in UFO policy — seventy years in the making.
One thing’s for certain, questions remain, as the report essentially states the same thing as declassified military memos from 1947 — UFOs are real, frequent, but we do not know what they are.
Might there be something more elusive, more distant about the UFO phenomenon?
Perhaps something less material and more psychological, even spiritual?
On this 11th episode of Intention, we explore these more ephemeral aspects of the UFO subject.
Helping us on this journey is Reverend Doctor John Denker, author of The Quantum God. John has a Ph.D in range ecology and a master’s degree from the Iliff School of Theology at Denver University.
He has been a minister with specialty in theology and philosophy in the United Methodist Tradition and now is an observant Jew in the reform tradition.
Undoubtedly, following any revelation concerning the presence of non-human intelligences, many human systems would be thrown into upheaval.
What religious traditions would survive this Copernican shift?
...and will our understanding of reality itself change if we find we’re not alone?
