Kelsey Redd (00:09):

(00:33):

find ultimate joy in family, marriage, and parenthood. And

And while you're there, go aheadand rate the show, leave a
review, or send this episode toa friend. Better yet, share it
on social media. Last week, Igave you a very spontaneous last

(01:20):
minute episode recorded on theevening of September 10, when I
was just processing the news ofthe assassination of Charlie
Kirk. Well, I've had more timeto think and reflect and
process. And I keep having somethoughts come to me that I
really want to share with all ofyou American moms who maybe like

(01:45):
me are feeling a little inspiredto step it up a little bit.
Maybe like me, you felt likelast week was a wake up call for
the world, for our country, andfor each of us individually. As
Governor Cox said, history willdictate if this is a turning

(02:09):
point for our country, but eachof us gets to decide right now
if this will be a turning pointfor us. And I know this will be
a turning point for me. As Ihave reflected and tried to gain
clarity and peace over theevents of the last week, I have

(02:31):
turned to scripture. I haveturned to God.
And I know that it's time for meto step up in my family and be
the mom that will raise thefuture leaders of our country.
The time for complacency haspassed. Lukewarm Christianity is

(02:52):
no longer enough in the world welive in. It's time to stand up
and to speak out. Because if wedon't, then who will?
We are the mothers who areforming the future generation,
the next generation of businessleaders, of political leaders.

(03:15):
And we are at a turning point inour history where there has to
be a shift. And I don't thinkthere's any one group of people
more equipped to make this shiftthan us. The mothers who are
teaching and educating andinstilling values and principles

(03:37):
into our children who will growup putting into practice what
they have learned and hopefullycreating a different America
than the one we're living innow. Throughout this week, I
just have had this quote keepcoming to my mind over and over
again.
It's a quote I've always loved. And it says, The only thing

(03:58):
necessary for the triumph ofevil is for good men and women
to do nothing. Andunfortunately, I feel like it's
really easy to slip into thisidea that I don't make a big
difference anyways, or nothing Ido is going to really change the
world, so I don't need to doanything. But that is the exact

(04:21):
danger of complacency or apathy,is the fact that everyone says
the same thing. So then nobodyis stepping up.
We've had an amazing example inCharlie Kirk of someone who
decided to step up and speakout, who made a difference and
one voice made a difference. Andthat voice inspired hundreds and

(04:45):
thousands more voices to speakup. And I anticipate in the near
future, we are going to see somany youth who were inspired by
Charlie Kirk continue to step upand hopefully fill those shoes.
But I think we all have to getto a place of personal
responsibility where we feelmotivated and empowered to do

(05:11):
something In whatever littlecorner of the universe that
looks like for you, it's time tostep up and do something. Maybe
our sphere of influence issmall, but it is important.
We have the opportunity and theability and the responsibility
to take the four walls of ourhome and create a safe haven, to

(05:36):
create educationalopportunities, to create value
based learning, so that we candevelop children who are then
empowered and educated enough tostep up as they grow up. So yes,
our sphere might be small, butwe are shaping a generation. And

(05:57):
the impact that we have throughour children and their children
and their children ripples somuch farther than you can
imagine. And that's just as ourrole as mothers, not to even
speak of civic involvement ororganizational opportunities

(06:17):
that we can and should belooking for to extend that
sphere of influence. Over thislast week, as I have really
taken to heart Charlie Kirk'sown advice to turn off the phone
and stay grounded in scripture,When I was just feeling so

(06:39):
overwhelmed and so confused andso much grief and anger and
frustration and sadness, I justkept wondering, where do I go?
What do I do? I don't know howto deal with all of this. And I
just kept coming back to go tothe Bible, go to the Bible, go
to scripture, go to prayer, goto God. And so I've been really
reading in my Bible a lot latelyand the story of the early

(07:04):
apostles right after Christ'sdeath and resurrection has stood
out to me as being so relevantto the world we live in. Just
after Christ was crucified andthen rose again, the apostles
were charged with going andwitnessing of Christ throughout

(07:26):
all the world, all the world asthey knew it.
And they were persecutedheavily. They were threatened.
They were stoned. They werepunished. They were put in jail.
And they were commanded by therulers of the country to not
speak and to not teach at all inthe name of Jesus. And in Acts
chapter four, verse nineteen andtwenty, it says, But Peter and

(07:49):
John answered them and said, whether it is right in the sight
of God to listen to you ratherthan to God, you must judge. But
we cannot but speak of what wehave seen and heard. And they
were continued to be threatenedand to put in jail and to be
punished for this. And later, again, Peter answered them and

(08:13):
said, We must obey God ratherthan men.
It feels like the world we'reliving in is telling us, Don't
talk about God. Don't testify ofJesus. There's this culture of
subjective truth where everyonewants to have their own truth.
What's true for me? But there isone truth.

(08:36):
God is truth. God's laws areirrevocable. In Acts chapter
four, verse 29, Peter said, Andnow, Lord, look upon their
threats and grant to yourservants to continue to speak
your word with all boldness. Ilove this verse. It reminds us

(09:01):
that even while the threats arecontinuing to be made, even
while we are being persecuted orthreatened punishment for
continuing to speak about Godand about Christ and testifying
of Christ.
The apostles are praying thatthey can continue to speak the
word with all boldness. And ifyou can't tell, that's very

(09:26):
inspiring to me this week. And Ifeel like it is time to speak up
with boldness about the world welive in, about the state of our
country. In Erica Kirk's firstremarks after the assassination,
she reminded us that the warthat we are fighting is not just
political, it's spiritual. Weare fighting a spiritual war and

(09:53):
the attacks are so much morethan on an individual.
They are on the beliefs, theChristian beliefs, the truths of
God that our country was foundedon. And that is a serious
concern that every American momshould take very seriously.
Because we all want a betterfuture for our children than the

(10:17):
path that we can see we areheaded down if there's not a
major shift. Right now, the bestway I know how to fight this
spiritual war is within thewalls of my own home, is with my
own family and my own children. We need to take the phrase just

(10:38):
a stay at home mom out of ourvocabulary.
There's no more just. It is themost important thing we can be
doing right now. Charlie Kirkwould have based his political
campaign on the revival of theAmerican family, according to
Erica. And I think that's whatwe need to focus on. We need to

(11:03):
revive the American family withwholesome Christian values being
taught to our children.
And to recognize that the familyis the fundamental unit of
society. We need to get off ourphones, we need to turn off the
screens, we need to log out ofsocial media, and we need to

(11:24):
focus on the Word of God, onChrist, on being out in nature,
on slowing down and focusing onwhat really matters. I have such
strong desires to make adifference and to do something.
And what God has called me to dois to focus on the moms, To

(11:44):
focus on how I can help moms bethe happiest they can be in
their role as the keeper of thehome. To help moms be empowered
with information and education,to allow them to raise kids in a
way that's enjoyable.
To keep themselves and theirchildren emotionally regulated

(12:06):
so that they can truly enjoymotherhood and raise amazing
kids. I'm so glad you're hereexperiencing this with me and
being a part of this littlecommunity that I'm trying to
build. I just want to end thisepisode with a little manifesto
I put together that I'm callingthe battle cry of the American

(12:30):
mom. We are the mothers calledof God. We are the backbone of
the nation.
We do not apologize for lovingGod, family and country. We
refuse to be silent whileculture whispers lies that
distorts truth, degrades thefamily and denies God. We

(12:57):
believe in the home as the firstsanctuary, in marriage as a
covenant under heaven, and inraising children who know both
freedom and duty. We believechildren are blessings, not
burdens. We believe homes arethe first classrooms and mothers
are the first teachers.

(13:20):
We believe faith is the anchor, freedom is the gift and truth is
non negotiable. We reject thelie that motherhood is small. We
reject the culture that mocksdiscipline, devalues fathers and
dismantles families. We rejectfear, passivity and the silence

(13:46):
of complacency. We are notvictims of rage.
We are vessels of wisdom. We arenot lost in the noise of the
world. We are grounded in theWord of God. We are not mere
consumers of culture. We are thecultivators of connection.

(14:09):
Our battle is not against fleshand blood, but against the
powers that seek to tear apartwhat God has designed. We will
not hand our children over tomen's philosophies, nor
surrender our homes to apathy. We will raise up a generation
who walks in truth, who honorsthe land we've been given, and

(14:32):
who knows that liberty is a giftworth protecting. We fight with
prayer as our weapon, withScripture as our shield, and
with love as our legacy. We willraise sons who are strong in
conviction, and daughters whoare steadfast in identity.

(14:55):
We will raise a generation whoknows that freedom was bought at
a price and must be kept withcourage. We are not waiting for
permission. We are not shrinkingback. And we are not handing our
children over to a godlesssystem. We are the American

(15:15):
moms.
We are the mothers of a nation. We declare with one voice that
we are anchored in Christ. Wechoose faith over fear and truth
over lies. And we put God andfamily over everything. This is
our call.

(15:37):
This is our stand. This is ourbattle cry. If you're ready to
