As our podcasts guests said a few weeks ago, housing is health care. This week, Cal and Cathy talk with Dan Berger and Tara Wenger, Service Coordinators and hosts of The Service Coordinator Podcast, about their work with the residents of affordable housing. Service Coordinators are like a multiplex knife -- able to adapt to multiple situations and address a variety of problems.
About Our Guests:
Dan Berger graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in Communications. He has worked for National Church Residences in the Department of Support Services for 15 years. For the majority of those years Dan operated Service Coordinator Programs for more than 35 clients in over 200 Affordable Housing communities. Currently Dan is the Executive Director of Client Relations for the Support Services Department. He lives in Columbus, OH with his wife and 4 kids.
Tara Wenger holds a Masters of Social Work degree, and is a Licensed Social Worker with approximately 10 years of social work experience. Tara has worked for National Church Residences in the department of Support Services for 6 years, serving first in a quality assurance role, then as a database administrator. In her current role as Senior Director of Support Services, Tara oversees administrative supports for service coordination: Quality Assurance, Service Coordination Staffing, and the Care Guide documentation system.
