I'm feeling all right, buddy. You know, trying to just make it
through the week, but I had a bright spot today when, in the
middle of a very busy day, I gotthe bat signal from the leader

know we had a draft this evening.
It's time to draft, time to fireup the cameras, the mics, get
everything plugged in properly. In my case, do about a minute
and a half of research. So you know, I, I know
historically I probably have theedge from a draft standpoint.

So this is going to be a real opportunity, man, for you to
kind of make up some ground. I don't know what you mean.
I feel like I win every draft wedo.
All right. Well, I, I, yeah, I suppose.

You know, and this is where the,the, the personal part of the
ITC personal record book, you know, really hurts me because
nothing's published. It's just sitting behind me on

Anyway, where do I get started man?
In our in our pre show discussion, I think we discussed
two things. One is that there's a match that
we might as well both have on our big board as number one.
And two, maybe we didn't mentionthis over over text, but let's

just get started with the brewski before we talk about
that first match. Let's go.

You know, I'm not quite ready for our full mega preview, which
definitely make sure you subscribe because that's
definitely coming down the Pike fast and furious.
But I am ready for this very impromptu shotgun style draft.
I think you alluded to it. There's a big one, the defending
champions, Arsenal taking on another show favorite, Leon and

I, I mean, what a way to to kickoff the tournament.
So this one is excluded from thedraft.
We're going to kind of put this one off to the side.
There's nine matches, so this allows us to go four and four,
you know, with the remainder. But what was your initial take
when you saw that this one is going to kick things off?
I mean that October 7th slate isa banger, but this obviously

feels like the centerpiece. And you know, in an array of
four great matches, obviously, you mentioned you have the
holders Arsenal versus the most dominant team in the history of
the tournament. Lyon won this tournament 8
times. Arsenal cut that lead down to
six historically. So only six more to match Lyon.

But I don't know if they got Chloe Kelly.
So they might they might get there.
Who knows by the time she retires.
I will say little wrinkle here and everybody take a take a
drink because I'm going to do it.
Arsenal has to play Manchester City Football Club 3 days before
they play Lyon. And obviously I'm going to
mention Manchester City as many times as I can because they're

not appearing in the tournament.So I'm going to find a way to to
to squeeze them in. But I say all that to say
Arsenal just rest everybody versus City in the WSL match,
especially Chloe Kelly. You can't be too careful.
You know that that that Chloe Kelly revenge match.
I mean, I don't. Want to if she.
If there's anything left in the tank, if there's any, if there's

anywhere that you can dig down deep and and pull out a little
some extra things that that thatcan definitely get ugly.
But for your sake, for my Co host sake, I don't want to see
that, even though I I do root for, you know, that team in red
versus that team in the Carolinablue.
Let's kick off the draft. So I think we'll just go well,
we didn't decide on who was going to go first.

anticipated matchups draft. So make a call and I'll flip

Little bit of a curveball. I'm going to go, damn, I'm going
to betray my board. I'm going to go with the the the
third match up that I have on myboard just because I love this
match up. Give me Real Madrid versus Roma.

I'm not sure when this one happens, but I love these two
teams. I love Real Madrid.
I wasn't sure about Roman qualifying.
And I was like, I'm not sure if like, you know, these teams, you
know, once you've tasted a little bit of like,
disappointment, you know, like, do you really want to kind of
fight through the qualify, do the whole thing again?
But to Roma's credit, they came back and, you know, fought their
way in. And Real Madrid, I think they

continue to ascend. So I think this is going to be a
very, very juicy matchup. I'm I'm super excited for this
one. I had this one ranked three on
my board. I love it.
Yeah, Las Blancas, they bounced back nicely after their early
league loss to Atletico Madrid, who we'll discuss later.
They bounced back with two wins over on track Frankfurt and the
qualifiers, and then two league wins.
Alba Redondo has a goal and an assists in their last three

appearances, which included two starts.
I am very excited to see them take on Roma.
Roma opens up the Syriaf and McNeil season at home versus
Parma on October 4th, then takeson Real Madrid four days later.
That match is October 8th. Sorry.

draft. I'm just going to go ahead and
take Barcelona versus Bayern Munich.
Ever heard of them? So Barcelona.
Barcelona has played four Liga Fmatches.

She has played 199 minutes. She leads the team with six

Munich. Bayern is currently level on

are old pal Vanessa Giel and Lena Oberdaw.

tournament plays out. We've already seen her do some

international Momoka Tanakawa take her full star turn in this
tournament? I'll be very interested to see
it. Oh my gosh, what a moment that
could be. Just like opening up in the
tournament against against Barcelona, we had MLS architect
pocket pop to the comments on our last episode and we were got

to chatting a little bit about this potential revenge season
for Barcelona. You know, like, you know, upset.
There's something about like, you know, this happens to in the
NBA when the MVP doesn't win thechampionship and they may come
back the next year. Like really, really salty
because they had to raise the trophy knowing that they didn't
their teammates didn't didn't reach that same finish line

outside of the F, but could makefor a really, really, I don't
know like motivated extra motivated Barcelona.
I'd be really excited to see that.
But 4th pick in the draft, I gotto go with this 1-2
heavyweights. Give me Wolfsburg, PSG.

prior. So these are two teams that
probably feel a little bit flat about how they each exited the
last couple of Champions League tournaments.
And these are teams with big, you know, big brands, you know,
big aspirations. So it's going to be really cool
to see them go at it in the first matchup.
I feel like this is a sort of a true toss up.

Germany's second second best, right against France's second
best. One of these, one of the matches
I think we're going to not quite.
Is it too early for this to be ameasuring stick match?
I think it sort of could be maybe?
It could be. I have my questions about PSG.
I mean, our pal, the great intrepid reporter, the
trailblazer herself, a seal to Filey who covers French football
as well as anybody in the history of the planet Earth, has

pointed out that Perry's Angerman often treats their
women's team as a money making machine where they develop good
players and immediately sell them off.
I mean, we've seen them lose it just in the past two seasons,
Sandy Baltimore, Tabitha Chuengaand Marie Antoinette Katoto.
So I'll be interested to see what their attack looks like.
I mean, they still have Rome Luchter, they have Nigerian

attacker Jennifer Echiqueni. And of course, in goal between
the post the legend herself, Mary fucking Herbs.

I had Wolfsburg, PSG 6th on my board, so I think we're all over

Regular season again for Siria Femenil in Italy, that starts on
October 4th. For who?
Juventus, who then has to turn around and play on October 7th

versus Benfica. Disappointing Champions League
last year for for who? Ventus.
They only beat Valarenga on the bookends of the group stage and
then kind of got clocked in the other four matches.
I think they were pretty competitive against your Gunners
in one of those matches, I thinkit was a one nil loss if I
remember correctly, but they lost all four matches.

They had to play against Byron and Arsenal and I'm just very,
very pleased to see our Portuguese pals Benfica back in
this tournament and make anotherrun in the in the UEFA Women's
Champions League. But it'll be a very different
squad from the one we saw in the2324 Champions League.
No Kika of Nazareth, no Mimi Aladou, no Jessica Silva.
You know, I'm looking forward toto making some new friends.

I am as. Well, because I think the, the
read that we've had on Benfica the last couple years is like,
OK, this team, you could a lot of raw talent.
And I think over the last coupleyears, whether it's watching
Benfica or Sporting CP or Portugal, you know, like we've
seen some evolution just since we've been covering the sport
the last two, 2 1/2 years. So I'm really excited to see

Benfica, you know, making makinga return appearance here.
My next pick, give me FC Twente and Chelsea.
I think excited to see Chelsea. We talked about it last episode.
A great representation of American players to be excited
about Germa Macario and the newly signed Alyssa Thompson and

just Chelsea's just, you know, bit essentially the cream, the
cream of the crop in the WSL. And they're very, you know,
they're on the upper upper echelon of of European football.
Then they must be Speaking of salty.
They must be extremely salty that it was that team in North
London that got to raise that Champions Trophy before before
Chelsea did. And, you know, between the

roster, the talent, both pastor,you know, like the elusive
champion, it's going to be really interesting to see if
that pressure builds to a point where it becomes a hindrance or
if it just starts to feel like, hey, this team is kind of
destined to reach at least a semifinal, maybe the final.
And then on the other side, FC Twente, I thought really good

showing last year. They played tough.
You know, they got rocked in a couple matches.
But you know, they showed up andphysically they looked, you
know, the part like they can hold up.
So I I don't know, another year of kind of seasoning and, you
know, growing and evolution of that club and and that roster.
It could be a really fun match. But I think we're, you know,
we're in the bottom half of the draft.
So these these matchups aren't aren't perfect, but that one I I

did have circled. That's one I'm absolutely going
to watch. I'm absolutely excited to see
what transpires there. I like.
It we're totally aligned here. Twente is sitting atop area to
Busy Brown FC-20. Chelsea FC was fifth on my big
board. Also 20 is level on points, but
they're one goal ahead of Ajax on goal differential in league

play. 20 is a bunch of Dutch talent on the squad, Jamie
Ravensburg and has three goals in two league matches.
And what do you know, everybody take another drink because
former Manchester City Football Club player Jill Roared is on
the squad and in league play, she has she has three assists
already on the young year. So good job, Jill.
You managed to leave Manchester City in order to play Champions

So they have Ellie Carpenter. And who's this?

I'll be interested to see how she ramps up.
But so they have Carpenter and Kerr from Australia, they have
Livia Peng from Switzerland. She's obviously not going to
going to play much in goal. But then they have Nuskin from
Germany. Then they have all the English
talent, Charles Walsh, Hampton Bright, Beaver Jones.

They have Jean Francois and Baltimore from France, They have
Himano from Japan, They have Vika Kaptine from the
Netherlands, They have girl writing from Norway, Aaron
Cuthbert from Scotland, Johanna Written Kannerud and Nathalie

Katarina Macario and Naomi Germafrom the US of A.

big board. What I like about this matchup,
you get the big club, probably bigger budget probably coming
from, you know, I don't know, maybe who I'm not.
Maybe I should stay on the economics conversation.
I don't know. But.
A club from a bigger league, let's say against a club that's

got a lot of champions experience, you know, they
they've clocked a lot of minutes, they faced a lot of
huge clubs. You know, I think probably, you
know, you stack them up. I mean, I think SC PS faced
tougher, bigger clubs over theirlast few years just from the
Champions League exposure. Then I'd let the ass.
So you know, I think it's reallyit's going to be really
interesting what what this matchup looks like.

If you know league FS third third best versus STP with all
that experience, I think I thinkit could be some fireworks.
I love it. No, it's great take by you,
Atleti, you know, getting there,you know, getting their
experience versus Barcelona and Real Madrid.
But then it's a great point by St. you know, by you that STP is
has just actual Champions Leagueexperience.

I do want to say, you know, I mentioned lewd Mila Madhav Kova
earlier. The Slovakian midfielder Atleti
does have a talented actual Brazilian 22 year old forward
Luani, who had four goals and four assists in 1000 minutes
played last year in League of F,but already has three goals and
two assists in 196 minutes this season.

And I think we talked about it afew weeks ago.
I liked the look of Atleti. Now, obviously I saw them beat
Real Madrid early in the season.I, I watched that match on the
zone, but I, I like they play physical, they run up and down
the wings. I'm just I'm too excited to see
that how they look in the Champions League format.

you know, these matchups where there's like a great distance,
you know, and there's just a lotof differences between the two.
You know, the countries are different, the languages like
you know, like even the the physical profiles and the play

tournament is like when we get to see like a real mix up here.

that that has some fresh Champions League experience, can

by this Manchester United side. I think I think it represents an
interesting matchup, But on the same token, it is a little tough
to be like, all right, well, howmuch different?

It does kind of feel like it could take on the same kind of

figured, well, I could probably be a little more efficient and
then had a brace in 3 minutes versus London City.

scratch out a draw versus your Arsenal.
So a good start to the seat to the league season.
You know, I realized I just kindof listed off a bunch of the
roster for Chelsea. But so they have Melvin Millard,
they have my Aleticia, Ella Tune, Jess Park, J Rivier,
Elizabeth Turlin and not a Miyazawa, Fallon, Telus, Joyce
and goal. A lot of good players on the
team, Frieda, Lena, Rolfo, they got they got players over there.

I mean it, this is just, I'm calling this the salt in the
wound match because not only is it Manchester United where it
should have been Braun, but they're playing a Norwegian team
that should be Braun. So it's all just it's all just a
big kicking dirt in my eye. But that's fine.
The the wrong Norwegian team is led by their two goal scorers,

Oleg Tevenden and Karina Shevik,who we got to watch in last
year's Champions League. They have a combined players we
really like though. Yeah, players we.
Like, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. No disrespect to the Volleringa
supporters out there, but this is an SK Brown podcast.
They have a combined sixteen goals and six assists in top
Syrian. So yeah, I'm interested to see
it. I'll be rooting for Manchester

United to lose because I'm a Manchester City supporter.
But they're they're good, man. So you got you got me.

you're doing well in WSLII, concede that you are very good.
They're in their spot. For sure no doubt didn't have an

Please close us out, Perry. FC versus oh Luvin Perry FC,
another French squad that just looks very different from when
we saw them in the 2324 Woman's Champions League.
They're led by 24 year old forward Lorena Azzaro, who has

two goals and two matches in theyoung Premier League season.
She came over from Strasbourg. But I'm, I'm, I'm very anxious
to see Louvin. They are debutantes.
I believe they might be the onlydebutantes in this league phase.
If I remember my, my reading correctly, they're also the
first Belgian team to qualify for this tournament.
They stunned Rosengaard in the second qualifying round.

And here they are. You know, they're mostly Belgian
players. And I just think this is another
opportunity. Like I always say, this is
another opportunity to learn a lot.
And that is why the UEFA Women'sChampions League is a
celebration of life. Yeah, no doubt.
And. Belgium, kind of, you know, I
think they exceeded expectationsin the EUR.
They were scrappy. Yeah, I think I had.

Them like way way down, but theywere fun to watch interesting
you know playing style unique playing style so I think this
one could be fun I I I was excited to see you know Louvin
in the qualifying I wasn't able to track down their match but a
Perry FC matchup I think is going to be pretty tasty yeah
it. Should be interesting to say the
least. And, you know, you just, I just

want to see like what these, youknow what Perry Zaman and Perry
FC, I just want to see what they, what they look like, like,
you know, they, they play these Premier League matches on the
zone and I and I watch them, I watch them when I can.
I'm not going to act like I'm, I'm locked in watching every
single match, but the zone knowswhere the bread is buttered and
they're showing Lyon matches andlet's just say we also have a

rooting interest in Lyon. So I'm watching those matches.
So when Perry FC and PSG play Lyon, I'll definitely be locked
in watching those. But this gives us more
opportunities to kind of watch them in in a great European
competition, the greatest European competition, Pardon me,
absolutely. Yeah, I think I'm excited.
Clara Matteo, I was I was screwing through the roster.

Clara Matteo still active, 27 years old, I think with some
stuff to prove, you know, talking about the EUR I think
had a little bit of like an underwhelming EUR And I think
another show favorite Selena Uhho seen defender who's now 24.
I think she was she was a young 23.
She was a young 21 back where you know, we were watching very

the first time around. But we'll see her evolution of
her game. And they play a really tough,
fun brand of football. It's like they're sort of not
PSG. So they've got to play, you
know, not like PSG. It's like it's it's always a
fun, you know, not quite paper, rock, scissors, but a clash of
styles whenever it is PSG, PerryFC or or Leon and, you know,

four great matches, obviously, you mentioned you have the
holders Arsenal versus the most dominant team in the history of
the tournament. Lyon won this tournament 8
times. Arsenal cut that lead down to
six historically. So only six more to match Lyon.

But I don't know if they got Chloe Kelly.
So they might they might get there.
Who knows by the time she retires.
I will say little wrinkle here and everybody take a take a

Arsenal has to play Manchester City Football Club 3 days before
they play Lyon. And obviously I'm going to
mention Manchester City as many times as I can because they're

Arsenal just rest everybody versus City in the WSL match,
especially Chloe Kelly. You can't be too careful.

Yeah, Las Blancas, they bounced back nicely after their early
league loss to Atletico Madrid, who we'll discuss later.
They bounced back with two wins over on track Frankfurt and the
qualifiers, and then two league wins.
Alba Redondo has a goal and an assists in their last three

I am very excited to see them take on Roma.
Roma opens up the Syriaf and McNeil season at home versus

very pleased to see our Portuguese pals Benfica back in

Champions League. But it'll be a very different

read that we've had on Benfica the last couple years is like,

they're on the upper upper echelon of of European football.

roster, the talent, both pastor,you know, like the elusive
champion, it's going to be really interesting to see if
that pressure builds to a point where it becomes a hindrance or
if it just starts to feel like, hey, this team is kind of

And then on the other side, FC Twente, I thought really good

showing last year. They played tough.
You know, they got rocked in a couple matches.
But you know, they showed up andphysically they looked, you
know, the part like they can hold up.
So I I don't know, another year of kind of seasoning and, you
know, growing and evolution of that club and and that roster.
It could be a really fun match. But I think we're, you know,
we're in the bottom half of the draft.
So these these matchups aren't aren't perfect, but that one I I

did have circled. That's one I'm absolutely going
to watch. I'm absolutely excited to see
what transpires there. I like.
It we're totally aligned here. Twente is sitting atop area to
Busy Brown FC-20. Chelsea FC was fifth on my big
board. Also 20 is level on points, but
they're one goal ahead of Ajax on goal differential in league

play. 20 is a bunch of Dutch talent on the squad, Jamie
Ravensburg and has three goals in two league matches.

former Manchester City Football Club player Jill Roared is on
