(00:03):
OK. Welcome to Into the Channel
podcast part mail about one supply.
I'm your host, Dean of the suspicious and as always, I'm
joined by my coast Mr. Grant Angle.
What is up man? I'm feeling fantastic buddy.
It's almost time to kick off thesecond leg.
Very important second leg. Let's go.
(00:24):
I mean, come on, man, we're here.
I can. I can feel the tournament right
around the corner. Let's just get there with the
right teams making it to the league phase.
So we're talking Champions League today.
I think this is the third round, second leg for those scoring at
home. And we've basically got it's 18
teams fighting for 9 spots, nineteams already in, so 9 big
(00:46):
matchups. We're not going to cover all
nine. Some of them I couldn't even
catch highlights for. We'll talk about that later.
I mean, the the the zone sized hole in my heart is just growing
by the day. I can't wait for for the
coverage to kick back out. I hope they're still covering
it. But there was one big match up,
a monster match up. I want to talk about it and
(01:08):
we'll hit we'll hit some of the other the highlights from from
qualifying. But Mr. Grant angle lot of
places we can start 9 to be specific.
Where? Where do you want to get
started? I mean, there's really only one
place we can get started in our hearts, my good man.
Let's start with a beverage. That's right.
I think we're synced up there. Cheers.
(01:29):
Those cheers to you, cheers to the football, but most
importantly, cheers to Braun andthe Braun Battalion getting it
done. One nil victory over Manchester
United Football Club. I mean, I want to say, OK,
there's so many different placesI can start.
(01:51):
Obviously they get the big win. That's that's first and foremost
the one that really knocked me on my heels.
I'm not sure if you saw this. They opened up that that part of
the telecast with an interview with Mark Skinner, skipper from
Manchester United, who had this to say, quote, I still think you
have to win both legs. I think you have to win both
legs because that obviously guarantees you're through.
(02:13):
And he goes on to say we'll be respecting our opponent, but not
too much. End Quote.
And I listened to both of those that I said, first of all, we
need to win both legs. I was like, excuse me, like,
let's try to score, kind of stayin this match because they're
they're staring down a juggernaut that's First off.
(02:34):
And then second one, we're goingto respect our opponent.
First of all, when you tell yourteam we're going to respect our
opponent, that already sets the stage that there's already like
maybe the players are looking ahead and like you should even
have to say that that's First off.
But then so then do the okey doke and come like pull the rug
out from under yourself and be like, but not too much.
(02:54):
It's like what Kind of like you're, you're sending 2
messages, also sending no messages and then you went out
there and you didn't get it done.
Skinner. I yeah, what is this guy Yogi
Berra over there? What kind of quotes are these?
What are you, what are you talking about?
You got to like, I sort of understand the yeah, we want to
win both legs, Like, I get that. But saying like we got to win
(03:17):
both legs, Like, no, actually, that's not how the rules dictate
it. And you're totally right when
you feel compelled to say we're going to respect our opponent,
that means that you and your players have been walking around
saying something to the effect of we know we should beat this
team, but we have to play our best.
Like you see, coaches, managers, athletes say that kind of stuff
(03:40):
all the time. Well, you know, unfortunately
for you, Manchester United, we've been watching the
Champions League the past coupleyears.
I'm like, act like we're long time historians.
You know, your absence has been noted.
So you haven't been around in this tournament for the last two
years. And in our maiden voyage
covering this tournament, we sawBraun in it two years ago making
(04:01):
the knockout stage. So where you been?
Red Devils? You haven't been around these
last two years and you might notmake it through this year
either. You know, United, they came out
pretty tough. Obviously they they've got a ton
of talent. They got chances.
I think you know, I was joking earlier, but most of them did go
through Ella tune and it was it was it's funny.
(04:21):
I I I like the players. I like a lot of the players.
You know, united just park. It must have been.
I don't know what was the just just park experience seeing park
in that in that red jersey that stung me.
I can't imagine what you went through.
I. Didn't like it.
I don't. I don't like it at all.
I don't, I don't want to see herplay for them.
You know, some of the moves she was making, I was like, yeah,
(04:42):
OK, that's the player I remember.
But then also there were long spurts where I didn't have to
worry about her wearing that shirt because there's just times
where she's kind of invisible out there.
So you know why I thought they were?
I thought they were fine. I mean watching it on MUTV.
You got, you know, once. The yeah, once, once the
(05:05):
frustration started to set in with them, they're like crying
for fouls and all this stuff. And it's just like, you guys are
just, you know, they, they created some chances, but it
wasn't like super overwhelming. So what it was 99 shots to 5
total, six shots on target to three shots on target, both of
those in favor of United and eight corners to three corners
(05:28):
in favor of United. But all three of bronze corners
were pretty dangerous, Gallup said, serving him in there.
And like, even in in the first minute when Braun was able to
get the ball immediately down the field, PTJ needed to have a
double fisted punch like right on her post.
Like it was it was sketch. There were sketchy moments in
(05:50):
there for United. And so I, I do think that
people, you know, pointing to the time of possession and
looking at that shot disparity might think that Braun got away
with 1 here. United didn't really ever look
like finishing in this one. But next one played well.
She did have one moment where she kind of spilled one that I
(06:11):
that I would have liked to see her hold.
But you know, this, this was notlike some kind of weird tragedy
where where United was way the better team and and ended up
losing. They deserved to lose the match.
And what the flip side of that? Braun deserved to win it.
Totally agree with that. Yeah, I think even the 4th, 4th
(06:31):
minute, right. My first note was a senior
Gaupset splits the double team and out of Miyazawa Mila Tisier,
just like their traffic cones. And I think like I start just
cackling maniacally. I was just like, Oh my God, this
is incredible. And then I went right back to
the Skinner quote. I was like, yeah, we're going to
respect them, but not too much like Gaupset like I mean, is
(06:52):
just like carving, carving up, you know, that that defensive
midfield. But yeah, I agree with you late
United got chances. But the thing that I liked about
Braun defensively is the chancesoutside of 1 Ella tune chance.
I think late in the match, like in the 70s or 80s, they got
worse and worse. You know, like it it once once
(07:13):
you got past the 1st 1520 and United didn't score, you're just
kind of I'm not sure we're goingto crack it.
So you got make it happen at anypoint.
But it got less and less likely as the match went on.
And then there was one other moment right before halftime
when I'm not sure if it was a corner.
I think it was maybe a short corner that ended in a cross
(07:35):
into Stenovich, who had a free header, puts it wide.
But I think that was the first one.
I was like, oh, OK, there's something there that looked
really good. And that ends up being a very
close reflection of of the play that they end up scoring on
later down the road. Yeah, man, and I, and I think
it's a great point by you on United's chances not being
overly dangerous. Says the match went on.
(07:57):
You know, I, I mentioned Bron's keeper Penangstwen, she made
some good saves and then a lot of the other saves she made were
pretty routine because United was just not getting around on
it. They weren't placing it very
well. They're just kind of handing the
ball back over to our side. On the on the flip side, Bron,
they had to be strategic with their chances, but I didn't feel
(08:20):
like them playing out from the back was overly sketchy.
Like there's not enough of a talent disparity here.
Even from AWSL side to a top Syrian side.
There's not there's not nearly the talent difference that you
would see. Like, you know, teams look like
they have when they play againstChelsea or Arsenal.
So bronze able to play out of the back.
(08:40):
They're able to get out of trouble in some of those moments
where like, you know, maybe they, they turn the ball over,
they're able to win it back relatively quickly in some spots
and then they're able to get forward.
So I, I thought Brown looked really good and they looked good
at home. And I think they can do this,
man. I mean, obviously like, you
know, you already know, like what I'm rooting for, but just
(09:03):
watching the football, I think they have better than a 50%
chance of taking of going to Manchester and just closing this
thing out. Well, you know what, I I think
you have to win both legs. I mean, you have to win both
legs because that obviously guarantees you.
Insightful. Thank you.
Yeah, yeah. No thanks, Mark.
Put that one together myself. I love the some, you know, as a
(09:28):
as a copywriter or as some somebody with some, some
copywriting reps in in my background.
I love the signage quote, your Trafford is getting old and
quote that was just flashing in the middle of the game.
Red runs deeper and brown also excellent.
I just I just loved all of the vibe and I think I mean what a
freaking shocker. United's not ready.
(09:49):
You know, this is this is the same team that forced their
team, their their players to buyflights home from Hammerby in
Sweden or force them to take, you know, I think a multi leg
flight, you know, from a place not very far away and then on
the way to Braun, you know, the team just forgets their boots.
(10:10):
Just no boots, just that we needthose.
Sure. So that'll actually let let
let's rephrase it. If you want to get through,
you've got to win both matches. You've also got to win both
matches and you got to bring your bag of boots.
That's right. And you know, maybe that was,
maybe that was part of the issue.
Maybe the boots that were lost, those were the finishing boots.
(10:32):
And so they didn't bring those. And now all they had was the
easy shot on goal boots that were easy to save by Penang
Stewart. I'm not exactly sure what
happened. I do want to reserve because I
guess I think the reporting was they did charter to Norway for
this match. The only thing that I wonder is
how do you lose? I think it was like 13 of their
(10:55):
players match boots. How does that happen?
And I just, I want to believe with no evidence, no testimony
to prove this. So this is just wild, reckless
of speculation by me is maybe somebody even in the private
airport, maybe a bronze supporter.
Just thought I'll just throw these on the other conveyor
(11:17):
belt. We'll just see how the team see
how the team does, you know, a little home, home pitch
advantage. No consider gets united I could
have seen the the bag just beinglike Manchester United boots.
Please do not lose. Very important for game versus
SK broad. Please do not lose.
And then that one just going missing or, you know, maybe I
had some some questionable, you know, contraband in there and
(11:40):
they had to flag it and they hadto go either way.
Manchester United don't get it done.
Huge surprise. We'll see these two teams lock
up again on Thursday, September 18th for a spot in that group
stage. I'm going to put you a little
bit on the spot. Oh, yeah.
Please go. Well, I'm not sure how you're
going to put me on the spot, butI will tell you, unlike Mark
(12:01):
Skinner, I truly have the key for how Braun can advance.
So I'm not sure if that's how you're going to put me on the
spot or not, but I'll tell you this.
And it's just as insightful as what old Skinner had to say for
himself. We just got to score one goal.
I think if we score our goal, I think we get through.
(12:22):
Yeah. Because you know, obviously
unlike Skin Dog, we can, we can go through with A11 draw and I
and I think the defense can hold.
And so if we just get one, I think we'll be all right.
Yeah, it doesn't it it goes it runs counter to my got to win
both legs. But you know, I I suppose that
(12:44):
that that would make it make it work last quick couple funny
notes. You mentioned the MUTV
announcers. I do get a chance to grab their
name. But the funniest moment to me
was on on the rewatch, you know, knowing what was going to happen
in the 68th minute, you know, sirs were saying that Manchester
United were turning the screw. Like it was like a minute later.
(13:06):
It's like they they, you know, just tossed it away.
And those are the funny moment where they were, you know, I
think play by play was asking the color commentators like, oh,
you know, well, was that a foul? She's like, Nah, I like to let
them play, you know, and then like I think a minute later was
when when they, they went into awhole diatribe about no, that's
a huge foul that could have beencalled.
They they pined for Vara few times like 3 or 4 times and and
(13:29):
they really were cranking up thethey were turning the screw on
on calling for VAR as the second-half were on for sure.
Dude, you know that's one way toget under my skin.
There is no, there is no reason for us to ever call for VARI
mean, you know, NWSL this weekend.
There were a couple situations where I just had to be like, get
(13:50):
this out of my life. I just, I can't do it anymore
with this VARI. I'll, I'll cut the tangent off
there. I'm sure the, the MUTV
announcers are very nice people and knowledgeable football
minds. But when you find yourself
calling for more VAR, you got toget out of here with that
you're, you're, you're desperateand at the end of your rope at
(14:12):
that point. So that's what that's what Bron
obviously did to the folks at Manchester United.
And I look forward to them doingit again. 11 last, you know,
kick to the Manchester United shin as we as we get out of
here, your boy plunked down 10 bucks for the MUTV membership.
I was sold a false bill of goods.
(14:32):
I was told that I'd be able to get to watch this match on MUTV.
It's quite possible that if I were in the UKI would be able to
do this but paid the 10 bucks, wasn't able to watch the match,
wasn't able to watch the match replay.
So I went ahead and did what it's supposed to do.
Emailed customer service last week and their reply, they
(14:52):
haven't replied. So I'm just sitting here they've
got my 10 bucks and fuck those guys.
And even if they do show it, I'mnot going to watch it on their
platform. But what are you going to do?
I mean it like not surprised. Wow.
Yeah, you're brave. You know, you got more
dedication than me because I, I honestly do not know what the
scenario would have to be for meto give my money to Manchester
(15:16):
United. I understand yeah, total dodo
moved by me. I mean, I I just I guess I had
to watch the broad any any way Iwas going to be able to watch
the broad match. I was just going to turn over
every leaf just so happy to turnover that one.
But you know, I'm not too big toto to admit that I maybe went
down the wrong path. But again, you know, no refund,
no response from customer service.
So we move on. Hopefully Braun moves on as
(15:40):
well. Let's let's move on.
I I went and hit a couple matches.
That's fair. Where we at?
20 minutes? That's here.
We got it. That's probably enough.
Yeah, we did it. I want to talk a little.
This one was a big one, man. The second one on the list.
I track Frankfurt one Real Madrid. 2.
Real Madrid, the road team comesin, handles business.
(16:01):
What'd you think when you saw this swirling?
They looked fast. I mean, the Madrid was able to
put a decent amount of pressure on.
I tracked Frankfurt had him under duress relatively early,
within the 1st 10 minutes. The the Angledahl goal comes at
at 13 minute. In the 13th minute, pardon me,
it really ends up being created by just a rocket of a shot by
(16:23):
Linda Kaiseto that hits the crossbar.
Hell yeah. And then Angledahl was able to
collect a, what was ended up being a bad clearance by
Frankfurt. Angledahl collects it and gets
it past their German goalkeeper Lena Altenberg.
I, I liked the look of Madrid. They had a league loss to
Atletico Madrid like 2 weeks agothat I think we'll we'll end up
(16:46):
talking about because we're going to talk about Atleti.
But I thought Rail was able to kind of bounce back first.
Frankfurt, I think they're goingto have something to say in this
tournament. I agree with you.
I think something about the league of F isn't that just
league F, You know, like Copa arena, Like there's the battling
with Barcelona, I think has kindof like really hardened this
(17:06):
team. You know, obviously Real Madrid
remember a couple years back thebig flame out and then a real
kind of like real retribution last year, kind of like getting
through and just really showing up for the tournament.
And now I think this this Frankfurt matchup felt like a
match that the old Real Madrid would have just kind of shown up
and maybe no showed or hung on to a draw, you know, but like to
(17:28):
go in there and really like, go ahead 2 nil, you know, and kind
of hold off. You know, a Frankfurt side
that's got the Fry gang and Yomilike, like real threatening
players and had a great season last year.
Bundesliga to go there and get it done, I think was huge.
And, you know, it is Real Madrid.
So it it does always stick in myhead like, well, yeah, they're
(17:52):
going back home and yeah, they're in the driver's seat.
But you know, we've seen this team kind of fumble the bag a
little bit. I don't think that's not what
I'm expecting here. But it it it does still linger
in the back of my. Head I think that's fair.
I mean, they made some importantchanges.
You know, they bring on Merla Frums, who, you know, Once Upon
a time played for Frankfurt before she had that run with
(18:12):
Wolfsburg. I love that addition for them.
I've seen her make some acrobatic saves already early in
League of F, I think they got a look at last year as OK, we're
we're turning the page on the onthe 2324 Champions League flame
out. They had a couple matches last
year where they just got battered by Barcelona.
We're like, are they ever going to come come back from this?
(18:35):
Then they get that the controversial win over Barcelona
late in the league season with some controversial calls.
But it felt like they a little bit of the monkey off their back
in in that sense. So if they truly want to talk
about turning a corner, then they have to take care of
business at home. And as much as I like as much as
I like entre, I interact Frankfurt, pardon me, it's a
(18:57):
it's a real uphill battle for them to get this done in Spain.
And they got a they had a littlebit of luck because senior Brune
had a chance in like the 87th minute on a header that hit off
the post. That could have put them in
pretty much night, night mode. Yeah, yeah, for sure.
And I think at the NAN, this onewasn't wasn't heard from in in
(19:20):
too big a way. So I think, you know, they they
are still looming, you know, that Real Madrid side.
But I wouldn't close the door onthis one in any way, shape or
form. I think Frankfurt's still super
dangerous. It's only one goal.
You know, we've we've seen much, much crazier happen.
But this is, you know, right up there in terms of matches that
will be locked in on come Thursday.
I want to scoot ahead though. Somewhat of a heartbreaker here,
(19:43):
An ITC favorite Roma 1 Sporting CP2 in this one.
Lucia de Guliomo opens score in 23rd minute to put Roma up one
and then stoppage time. We got to get all the way to
stoppage time, to get to the collapse and then basically
having this game flipped completely on its head.
Gutsy performance from Sporting.I thought, you know, even even
(20:07):
with Roma kind of having the chances early, I liked that
Sporting was able to kind of tryto push them away from the goal.
Roma had their chances to extendthe lead after they got that
Digiuliano goal on the 23rd, butthey they could barely get
anything on target, let alone punch it in that Roma had
(20:29):
eighteen shots and only three ontarget.
And I thought Sporting did a nice job kind of forcing them
into some of those and some of them were just bad misses.
And and Karna Chau, I think I'm pronounced Thelma.
Probably just go with Thelma. I, I think, you know, she looked
dangerous out there and you know, she ends up getting
getting the dagger at 90 + 7 andand they win it in Rome.
(20:53):
So now you get to go back to Portugal.
And this is another one where I think it's super live that Roma
could obviously win on the road, but you're going to.
What I really want to see more than anything is Sporting's
absolute best punch versus Roma's best punch.
(21:14):
And then you kind of see where it goes from there.
Yeah, I, I, I obviously you hateto see a team like Roma finish a
match like that, but I think it was much, much more sport ECP
going grabbing this result more so than Roma fumbling it away.
Even on that last goal, they game planned that that free kick
(21:34):
for it. It looked like it was like a
kick from like 21 yards out, youknow, like, you know, in a World
Cup final, like they and this was a a like a dead bowl, like
near the the halfway line way out to the left sideline.
So not usually a situation whereyou see a lot of strategizing
and, you know, putting heads together and they ran a sick
(21:55):
play. It was like a give and go that
went away and then went back andthen looped, you know, like a
like a just a ball up the sideline genius.
You know, and and like Leanne, Iwas like to say, oh, you hate to
get, you know, beat with one or two passes.
I mean, they went the half the field in one or two passes and
the ball's in the back of the net.
So shout out to Sporting. I totally agree with you.
(22:15):
They didn't give up and tactically they had stuff for
Roma and AS Roma started to fadedown the stretch, they were
there to kind of grab that result.
Yeah, man. So I mean, you know, we
obviously enjoyed cheering for Ben Figa Sporting comes out
there in the 352 typical Portuguese style of football.
I just love to see it. And you know, we we've talked
(22:36):
about Portugal with their footballing history and their
footballing culture. You just need to overlay that on
top of some real investment intotheir clubs.
And you could you got to think that they'll have something to
say in these tournaments. I mean, they they tip, they tend
to punch above their weight class on the men's side of the
Champions League or the Europa League, those kind of European
(22:58):
competitions. So I look, I look forward to it,
man. I mean, I could only get my
mitts on the highlights of this one, but hopefully able to watch
the full match because I think the second leg could be an
absolute banger. Yeah, no doubt.
I can't wait for this one as well.
Any other matches you want to hit?
I know we've we've had, we've got some familiar names on the
on the list that we've got some teams that I think we feel
(23:20):
pretty good are probably going to advance.
So Valarenga, they hang 3 on Fedand Kvatos they had Hungarian
side I believe. So they got a goal from Karina
Shevik and then FC Twente they go to Katowice.
I think GKS team out of Poland, they went four nil.
We probably expect them to advance.
Same. I think Bolton got a three one
win. And anything else caught your
(23:41):
eye? You know from from this first
leg of the third round of Women's Chevis qualifying.
So I mentioned Atletico Madrid earlier Luani is on one right
now. She's playing with a ton of
confidence. They ended up drawing BK hack
and this was another one that I could not find the full match,
which is just a tragedy and a travesty.
(24:03):
It's a it's a, it's a crime against humanity.
This is that I'm not able to watch this entire match because
I, I, I, I really want to see itbecause Madrid looks good in
Liga F right now. I mentioned earlier they have
that win, that 21 win over Real Madrid just a short time ago.
They're at three wins, 0 draw, 0losses and a + 10 goal
differential sit on 2nd in the Liga F table.
(24:26):
Luani is tied for third with three goals.
On the young season, she is behind Aitana Bone Mati, Eva
Payor, she's tied with Claudia Pina and just ahead of Kika
Nazareth and CGH. So a lot of Barcelona goal
scorers in that top five Ish region there, but there's Luani
(24:47):
sitting tied for third. So I was able to watch the full
match between Atletico and Real because that was on our pals
over at The Zone on their streaming platform and they just
look confident, man. They're able to get the ball
down the wings played into the middle, pretty scrappy on
defense. So as much as we like BK hack
(25:08):
and I, you know, they're able togo into Sweden and get that
draw. Now the match goes to Spain.
I think it's I think that's going to be another one that
hopefully we're able to get our eyeballs on for the full match,
because I think it's going to bea knock down drag out.
I mean, that could be another one that's either A1 nil or a
nil, nil or a 11. And when we're looking at extra
(25:30):
time? Yeah, I think, you know, for
any, for any new audience members or any kind of anybody
kind of going on their on their initial Champions League
journey, I think it's important to kind of note that it, it
could be a little disorienting to kind of hear us be like, oh,
Manchester United, yeah, SK Brown's got them, you know, OK,
BBK hacking Atletico Madrid. Can this team keep up?
(25:50):
Of course they can keep up. You know, like we've seen this
team go to Stamford Bridge and get a draw.
We've seen this team go to Real Madrid and, you know, beat them,
you know, and I think sweep themmaybe a couple couple seasons
ago. So and we've seen this team make
the quarterfinals, you know, so I think like anything's on the
table. Hakkin gets a goal in this one
from 18 year old Felicia Schroeder, who feels like she's
(26:12):
been playing forever, is alreadykind of like a pro's pro.
The stakes are so high to be able to get into the group
stage. And you know, we saw Arsenal
last season have to earn their way into the group stage.
You know, not nothing too nervy, but they had to they had to
scrap to get through. They had they had work to do
just to get to the group stage. So these are good teams going at
(26:34):
it, even though they're they're competing.
This is another not quite a coinflip match.
I think I'd let the should advance, but I will be, I'll
I'll say I'll be 0%, but surprised if Hakkin comes out of
this because again, they've got the tournament experience.
They they've been in this tournament, they've been through
this tournament, they've faced and they've beaten bigger teams
(26:57):
than this, you know, So they're not gonna go into this match,
you know, with any kind of wide eyes or or, you know, like that.
They're gonna be fully ready andthis is absolutely going to be a
battle. No doubt, and I don't know, I
can't remember. I think during the last sleepy
Boy Champions League podcast that we did, I don't think we
got into hacking. I just want to say a quick note
(27:17):
about Felicia. Felicia Schroeder, BK Hackin has
competed in 17 matches in Domel's Fenskin League play.
Felicia Schroeder has 24 goals. Needless to say, that's leading
the league. She is 10 goals ahead of our old
pal Ellen Vongerheim from from Hammerbee.
(27:37):
I mean, just an absolute monsterseason.
And if you think she's just scoring out there, she's tied
for third with another 8 assists.
She's just been a machine out there in in Thomas Fenske.
I'll I'll do it for you. Hey, Felicia.
You know, Seattle's kind of nicethis time of year.
I don't know if there you go. There it is.
Thank you, my good man. Yeah, it was somebody like if we
(28:01):
could just, yeah, if, if SeattleRain FC could start getting some
goals, that would be that would be good, I think.
But this is a Champions League show.
Absolutely right. One, one other couple.
What are the result here? Real quick, Perry FC nil and
they were home against Austria. Veen, I'm going to go with Veen
nil, nil on that one. So now Perry FC has got to go to
(28:23):
Austria, put something on the board if they if they want any
chance of getting through again, nothing is give me in this
tournament. And you know, these, these
venues are tricky. You know, it's off schedule,
you're playing on a Thursday. It's weird.
You don't know anybody. These pitches are weird.
I mean, I, I, I don't think Perry FCS ever logged a single
(28:43):
minute on Austria Veen's home pitch.
I, I got to imagine none of those pairs I have.
So it, it gets funky, man. And, and if you can catch any of
this action on Thursday, do yourself a favor.
I don't think you can go wrong with any any of these nine
matches. Yeah, I mean, you know, this is,
this is the joy of the ChampionsLeague.
I mean, and if you could watch our our pals over at Sank
Poulton STP, if you will. I mean, they play a pretty
(29:08):
entertaining brand of football. I think especially compared to
like 2 years ago. We've kind of seen some of their
some of their growth. So yeah, this is the the UEFA
Women's Champions League is is acelebration of life no matter
what match you're going to watch.
But I mean, preferably you're going to watch Bron beat
Manchester United, but you can'tgo wrong with any of the
matches, as you said. We're back, man.
(29:29):
Year three, you know, again, we're not, we're not Ogs, but
we're not, we're not debutantes either.
I mean, I think, I think we've earned our place here and I
think we did it, man. I think we're ready for Leg 2.
Anything else you want to hit before you get out here?
I think that's it. I'd say that's comprehensive
enough. Once we get into the league
phase, me and Dino, we're going to probably go through.
I mean, not probably. Me and Dino will go through way
(29:49):
more matches, dig more into likewho's on each team, their
history, all that fun stuff. All the great kind of stories
that you get with all of these big rosters across across the
world or all across Europe, but stories from players from across
the world. It's one of the joys of covering
this this wonderful tournament that I in, in my view is just
(30:10):
the best tournament slash leaguein all the sports.
Let's go. Yeah.
I mean, you're you're on record multiple times.
What that take for sure. And you mentioned players.
We're going to try to hear from as many players as we can,
coaches as we can. You already know that you hear
from the voices of the game whenyou rock with the ITC Chris
Sharples, Leanne Sanderson, JackChiatley, Mike Watts, you know,
(30:32):
to take your pick. We love talking to the voice of
the game for sure, but we're doing a thing.
We launched Patreon link is in the the description of our bio
and basically any player coach voice interview that we run,
you'll have early access as a Patreon member.
Head over to Patreon, get signedup and as we start to roll out
these player coach voice interviews, like I said, get
(30:55):
them a few days early and reallyjust like you said, revel in in
this tournament. Enjoy it with us.
Go on this journey because I think it it runs all the way
from now through May and it's just the best.
I agree with man, it's the best time of the football year.
It truly is. I mean, there's there's drama,
there are surprises, there are twists.
There are some things that are obvious that you're like, oh,
that should have like I should have seen that coming.
(31:17):
Or the occasional run where me and Dino predict exact scores
for like a week straight. I mean, the ITC, we offer a lot,
but it is obviously all because of you guys and and we
appreciate you falling along with us, yeah.
Arsenal 1 Barcelona nil still still up in the rafters for your
boys. It's off camera, but it's up
(31:37):
there. It's up there.
All right, man, I think we did it.
This has been another episode into the channel.

(32:00):
as well. Mr. Granting, go for Debutante
no more. It's year three, my guy.
We're here, we're ready. The strength and conditioning is
up. The sleepy boys, maybe slightly
less sleepy. We'll see.
You know, it's still early, but I mean, again, the copilot of
this Champions League coverage and, and it just feels like the
engine's humming and we're we'rewe're just getting ready for
(32:22):
takeoff and I'm excited and I appreciate you, bro.
Likewise, buddy. Yeah, Debbie, Tons.
No more. We're crafty veterans, even if
we are still relatively young. And I might as well just do it
in this outro. Don't, don't think, I don't
know. Dino celebrated what I believe
is his 22nd birthday. So you know, everybody, make
(32:42):
sure you wish the host of the show a happy birthday and keep
dropping knowledge in the comments.
We appreciate you and we will see you all next time.
