This is the chilling story of the murder of fifty-nine year old Jill Atchison. On August 31st, 2019, in the small town of Levelland, Texas, thirty-six year old Jeremy Atchison arrived at his mother Jill's house, looking for money. He ended up murdering his mother, and then fleeing the scene. Jill, who was described as "a soul that was worth more than gold", was a beloved dance instructor in Levelland for over 30 years, so this loss cut deep within the community. This story is just more proof that this country needs easier access to mental health resources, and more focus on rehabilitation.
