In this episode, co-founders Lisa Phillips and Crystal Whitaker, a seasoned educator with a rich patriotic background and a passion for history, unpack the core values of America's founding principles and how they've been obscured in our modern framework.

The discussion traverses from the origins of America's foundations as seen through its historical documents, to the meaning and implications of living as a republic, as originally intended by the country's founders.

(00:00):
Welcome. This is your invitation to freedom.
The podcast that challenges the traditional left right paradigm
and explores a narrative centered on unity and reclaiming
our rights. Each episode will explore topics from how
we got where we are to what a peaceful journey looks like to get back
to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. If

(00:22):
you could, articulate
what the podcast should be focused on
Mhmm. As you were starting to tell me when we began
the study guide, what invitation to freedom really
needs to be about. So invitation really has kind invitation
of freedom has kind of stepped into the place of what the study

(00:45):
guide originally started as as a learning platform
to discuss how our country was founded,
what the framers intended for our country,
versus the government or the the the the
framework that we have now as a corporation of the United States,

(01:06):
and, you know, how to really get back to living on the
republic. The republic isn't gone. The republic is being
held in trust. And there there needs to there
needs to be foundational principles of how we get back
to the republic and live as the framers and the
founding fathers designed for us to live.

(01:29):
And that's what the study guide was basically
founded on, is learning those principles and how we could
go into taking that back, not
realizing at that point that it's already
here. We just need to know how to live upon it.
And the study guide has progressed so far in our

(01:52):
knowledge, because we didn't stay stagnant. We
didn't stay still. We continue to grow on our journey.
And so now we have expanded our
knowledge so much that when we get new people that come in, they're
Lisa. Because we it's really hard to go
back and to continue to have those beginning conversations

(02:15):
in the platform that we currently have in the study guide. I two
f is replacing that study guide in
in the frame of we can start hosting all of
these beginning meetings again, and people can
continue to learn in a
smaller setting with more concise Taylor.

(02:38):
And that's where the podcast comes in because that's where it'll draw
those people who are generally in the public to
know something's wrong. They can feel it in their bones.
They see it in our in their newspaper or in their, you
know, daily programs, and they know something's wrong, but they don't know
where to begin. I two f is that place

(03:00):
where they can begin. Hey. What does the declaration say?
Do you even know that that declaration is a trust?
If it's a trust, then who is who are the parties to this
trust? Every trust has a has has parties and they're
defined. Do you know who they are, and do you know where you fall into
that? And so now that you know what that is, how

(03:23):
does the constitution fit into that? And the bill of rights,
who is the bill of rights for? And how did the 14th amendment take those
bill of rights away from us and made
us citizens to the corporation? How does the corporation fit
in? Most people go, oh, the United States isn't a
corporation because they have no idea of the organic law of 18/71.

(03:46):
They have no clue that that even exists and that that set up
the framework
for Rome, England to come in and
assert our god given right to establish our
own free government and our own free country
and take it back again. It we didn't hold it for long.

(04:09):
And the founding fathers even told us, we've established a republic
for you. It is up to you to hold it and keep it.
Right. So tell me
how we are going about that in invitation to freedom. Let's share
with our listeners what is it that we
have put together that invites them to

(04:32):
discover this knowledge? So in
I two f, we have some beginning courses. We
have, the founding documents,
which detail, you know, what they are and how they
have set up the country as its own nation.

(04:52):
What were the rules governing that nation and why?
Every every nation needs to have rules. No matter where you
are, there has to be a governing body of rules
somewhere. But those rules can't be so
restrictive that it strips away our ability to have
free will and to do the things that we feel are necessary for

(05:14):
ourselves. And so the founders knew that.
They had already been living here long enough out of
the arms reach of the king. Right?
They were born here on this land. They had been
able to self govern, and
the founding papers really kind of share

(05:38):
their life's history in what
they were not willing to give up
and defying a king. And so it's really important
to understand that when you defy
somebody, doesn't mean that you're treasonous.
Right? It's that you have identified that

(06:02):
I know best for my life. See, we think we've gotten
to a place where we think that others might have the
answers for us, and we stop self governing.
And they were not willing
to give that up. They were willing to give up their lives, their
fortunes, and their sacred honor to keep it. And what what we hear so

(06:24):
often from our members is that level of chaos and
confusion. And they they didn't have that
fundamental knowledge, that education.
And tell us about you, your background, and how you are equipped
to deliver these lessons. K. I'm,
32 years of education. I started out as

(06:47):
a special education in the special education department. I was an
instructional aid for many, many years, and then I decided I
wanted to teach. I actually wanted to be a kindergarten
teacher and but I fell in love with the high schoolers and,
got my teaching credential and my master's degree,
in education. I also have a bachelor's in

(07:10):
history. I'm a history teacher.
And so I chose history
because I love history. I'm very much come from a
very patriotic family. And after doing some,
you know,
deep diving into our genealogy, we've

(07:33):
had members in every major
battle, whether here or abroad in this family,
and and it it attests to why we are so patriotic
in our in our family. But it
it it something that resonates with me, it's and I wanted
to teach it. I wanted to see that moment for my high

(07:55):
schoolers for them to go, oh, I get
that. Right? And so and history is a really tough
subject for students with learning disabilities because
sometimes it's really hard, and it's boring. And so, you know,
I found a way to make the boring fun. And I've
done the same thing with my journey,

(08:18):
into discovering how
free I am not. Right? And
then how to regain that freedom.
And the founding the founding papers are
are essential. They're essential in knowing
who we are and how we can

(08:41):
survive and thrive within the current system that we are
living in. So for adults that you
now are teaching. Mhmm.
How difficult challenging is it for them
to come in and take these classes? I you have
done beautiful decks slides and you go

(09:04):
through and you present this information and it's a stealth
self guided course. So they can come in, they can do each one
of them on each of the 5 different founding documents actually starting
with the Magna Carta. Right.
But then you do these sessions where everybody comes together
and discusses it. Mhmm. How difficult what's

(09:27):
the difficulty level for someone who's considering doing this?
Like, how did how's it
going? It's it's it's great because, you
know, you get the opportunity to, you know, look at the
material and and decipher it for yourself and then be
able to come into a smaller group setting and actually have

(09:49):
the conversation. And I think that's where the learning comes in is
having those smaller groups and having those
conversations instead of instead of me preaching and
teaching. Right? You've already done the learning. Now we're gonna come and
discuss it. And that's where the expanding of the mind comes
in because now you're not just taking notes

(10:11):
or trying to remember or recite
something. Right? Most of us who are in high school, we had a test that
was due at the end of the week. We needed to recite dates and major
battles and, you know, significant points on a map and, you
know, yada yada yada yada. Here, it's none of
that. It's none of that having to recite anything. There are no quizzes. There are

(10:33):
no exams. There's no it's coming together and gaining
knowledge for our own selves
and comprehending why,
1, it was done, 2,
how they were successful, and 3, how do we keep it?
How do we take it back? How do we how do we

(10:56):
reignite that fire inside of us?
Most of us are patriot, god loving,
god fearing, country loving, you know, support
our veterans. We stand for the pledge of allegiance. We
salute the flag. We sing the star spangled banner.
We love the 4th July. That's our holiday. That's our that's

(11:20):
the people's holiday. There is so much love for this
country, but because of all the things that
we deal with on a daily basis, we forget about that. And this
brings that back to the forefront. It brings us back to why it is
that we're patriotic, why we stand for the flag, why we say the pledge of
allegiance, why we sing the star spangled banner, why

(11:42):
we salute our men and women who are in the armed forces,
Why we love and care for them? You know, the the
founding the tenants that we built this nation
upon bring meaning and purpose to our lives. Yeah.
It it it really does. And when you look at it and you can do
it in bite sized Lisa, doing these lessons, there are 5 of them,

(12:05):
and you go through it and it takes you less than an hour as opposed
to sitting through like the preaching and teaching and then come together. It
really, it changed me. I remember the first time I went through it and it
brought tears to my eyes and I was so joyous of
what you were able to deliver in plain
English and and just

(12:27):
non convoluted. Right? And it's it's
fantastically important. Like you said, it's foundational. You start
there. And then from there, you can go
into the trust classes. And, again,
like you said, people don't realize that we were built upon a trust
and that we're supposed to be stewarding this trust. Yeah.

(12:49):
And and most of us don't know anything about trust.
Like, I tell this story all the time, but my knowledge about
trust 3 years ago was that rich people had them
and rich kids lived off of them. That's what I know about trust.
My knowledge interest has grown so much
in the last 3 years of teaching this

(13:12):
course that now I know how to operate using
I remember when we were doing 17/76 live and prepping for it, and I
said, I think you're the one to do the trust. You go, what are you
talking about? You want me to deliver the
trust? I'm like, yeah. You're the one. And and you just you
really it's all about trust, and you just about trust.

(13:34):
And what a credible class, and that goes into
deep trust issues in in our sister
platform, American study guide. But you have the foundational
lessons over an invitation to freedom. And then from
there, we have, the law classes, land, air, and
water. You're standing in law comprehending that. So

(13:56):
there's an entire, I would say,
like, college level Yeah.
Curriculum for people to come in and whether or not they choose
to participate in the live classes or just do the stealth self
study. If you wanna come to the live classes, there's an
additional subscription, but you can start with just the

(14:19):
4.99 a year to to get the lessons that
knowledge. Right. It's about gaining knowledge. And and
if if you are serious about, you
know, wanting to change the direction
that this country is headed, you have to invest in your
own education. But that education investment,

(14:42):
it's not gonna take years. It's not like you gotta get a graduate's degree. You
could do it 1 hour a day, 1 hour a week,
and you're gonna make significant strides. Yeah.
And it comes back to
really owning what We The People is. I don't think Showing
up. We gotta show up. We use it as a cliche. We The

(15:05):
People, we're gonna stand, and and we think that we're
being patriotic. But we truly
do not comprehend what that
phrase means of we the people, for
the people, by the people. Who are the

(15:25):
people? If you don't know who the people is,
then you can't claim that you're we the people.
And you don't really comprehend who you are. And you don't care yes.
And that's the important thing. You have to know who you are. If you don't
know who you are, then you will be whatever they let they label you to
be. Exactly. If you don't defend your rights, you don't have them. And it

(15:48):
doesn't mean you have to take up the fist. It doesn't mean that you have
to do it out of peace and honor. Right.
I love that. And we advise people and
invite people to start by watching the reigniting the American spirit.
Very short three piece video when you've come in and watch
that. Love it. It's what? This first one's 15, 16 minutes, and then

(16:11):
9 minutes and 9 minutes. So easy. Sarah did
a brilliant job in in creating that for us,
and, it's very down
to earth, very basic to comprehend, and
probably one of the best, you know,

(16:31):
descriptors out there of what really is going on
with our country and what we can do about it. And like you said,
doing a piece and doing it in honor, those are
key parts of this entire process is to learning
to be in peace and being in honor. And those,

(16:52):
I think, are 2 words that are elusive right now
in this particular climate that we live in.
Yeah. And it's, it's been incredible for me to be on this journey with
you. Yeah. Oh, so I can never do it without you. We started
this together. We started together, and we had to divide to
conquer. So our focuses, you know, have gone, and we've

(17:15):
been able to trust each other. Talking about it's all about trust. To be able
to trust this endeavor that I could focus where I needed to focus, and you
could focus where you needed to focus. And we have we almost don't even have
to speak that much to comprehend what's going on.
So this was great to frame this and give people a good
idea of, what invitation Freedom is all

(17:37):
about. So thank you. Thank you
so much for tuning in to this episode. If our podcast
resonates with you, know that you're not alone. There's a private
