Goodnight standing by. You're listening to the Ion
Cannon Podcast. Laugh it up, fuzzball.
Your source for entertainment reviews from a Galaxy far, far
away? This is it.
Hey, laser clickers. Welcome to the Iron Canon
(00:25):
podcast. I'm one of your hosts, Steven,
and I'm joined by my friends andCo host Tom and William.
Yes, we were in fact able to getTom through all of his
technology issues. Sorry, technology just makes it
sound way more like just, you know, it's been like what, 30
minutes of Tom troubleshooting microphones and yeah.
Yeah. Audio.
(00:45):
That's really what I'm trying tomatch.
It was a say. I'm happy to be here.
Thanks for having me on guys, took me a while.
It's good. Good for you being here, Tom.
We missed you. I missed you guys too.
It's been a while since we've done this.
It has, it has. I know there's we've been on our
a little bit of our break, right.
It's been, it's been nice to have a little bit of a time off
(01:06):
in between shows, but I missed you guys.
There's some big news, there's some cool trailers.
So I am excited to I'm excited to talk Star Wars.
It's been a little bit a little bit too long too, longer than I
would have liked. Let's see.
So I guess it's probably just diving in.
(01:28):
It's hard to believe the 20th anniversary of Revenge of the
Sith is coming up in May, May 19th.
And so, yeah, they're, they're bringing it back to theaters or
they did this for some of the other films too.
I some had to, I fortunately missed a couple of them just
because of trips and stuff. But this year, April 25th, it's
(01:49):
going to come back in theaters. I, I cannot wait to go.
Steven. We should, we should make sure
we go together because it's. I'm yeah, I'm looking forward to
that, that is. And Tom, you're of course
welcome as well. But you know.
Yeah, well, A. Little bit longer trip for you.
I, I, I appreciate that and and I wish I could get up there, but
(02:09):
there was another month I'll be travelling.
I'm not. Worried about?
It we'll catch up at some point. We are.
We are, yeah. So I don't know.
I'm very excited that they're Revenge of Sith is coming back
to theaters. It's one of my one of my
favorites of the definitely my favorite of the prequels.
I, I mean, I have a soft spot for all of them, but I love
Revenge of Sith. So that is super exciting.
(02:32):
And even bigger news, there was a rumor, say 2 weeks ago, maybe
at this point that started making the rounds that Kathleen
Kennedy would be stepping down at the end of the year.
So it actually built up to such a, a, a degree that Kathleen
Kennedy actually sat down for aninterview in deadline and after
(02:54):
the rumors broke and she tried to clarify a few things.
And Long story short, definitelyread the whole interview if
you're curious. She confirms she is indeed
looking for a successor and the announcement is quote, months or
a year down the road. End Quote.
Which is really interesting phrasing, right?
(03:16):
What do you guys think about this?
It certainly sounds like it's, it's true.
It's her, her decision. She's stepping down of her own
accord. But it doesn't seem too far off
and it doesn't invalidate the rumors that it might be by end
of the year. I can't say I'm overly
surprised. I guess, like I, I mean, we're
about to talk about season 2 forAndor, which looks phenomenal,
(03:37):
but like generally I wouldn't say Star Wars is done like the
most amazing over the last, you know, decade or two,
particularly thinking about likemovie production and the like.
So I'm, I, I'm not overly surprised if she is, you know,
stepping down someone else stepping in.
I'm not convinced that will change anything either.
But. Well, and she's been in the role
(03:58):
for a decade now, so it's also possible.
She just wants. A change, right?
Exactly. Yeah.
I I just hope whoever is going into that understands the
property and really does care about it and tells great
stories. That's it.
Couldn't agree more. I think, you know, I, I would
hope that there's a lot of, and again, you can't, it's, you
(04:20):
know, there's a, there's a lot, there's a lot said about the,
the struggles to get films out and, and, and what not.
They've been more successful in the this just the show side of
things on Disney plus. But you know, it's, it's hard to
say whether it's all, you know, her, her fault or, or others,
right? They're, they're part of a large
company, obviously, and there's a lot of other stuff that goes
(04:44):
on behind the scenes. But you know, I think there's,
we, we talked about even our Disney Plus recap, right, last
November, a lot of the highs andthe, and the lows even just from
the last five years, let alone the last 10.
But yeah, I, I, I do hope that whoever, whoever takes over and,
(05:04):
and just going forward as they look at making these films,
they, they have a bit more of a plan in place going in rather
than kind of somewhat winging itas they go.
I mean, to be fair, even George Lucas did a little bit of
winging it, but he at least had kind of a little bit more of an
end goal in in place. He had a plan when he when he
did the, I'm going to say it, winging aspect of telling a
(05:26):
story, but at least he knew whatthe beginning, middle and end
was. That's true.
He was able to keep it consistent.
Exactly. Interestingly, it sounds like
they might have the successor lined up.
She does say at one point interview quote.
I can't say who it is, End Quote, which could mean, oh, I
(05:48):
can't see it is because we haven't picked them yet and
we're still going through interviews.
But normally I think someone would typically you would say
we're we're searching for the right candidate or whatever it
is. But this is it sounds more
definitive. How are you guys reading this?
Do you think they have someone it?
It definitely sounds like it. And if this is one of those
(06:08):
cases where I have to imagine, especially if they're looking to
do it all within the next 6 months, I just would assume that
they're already kind of like maybe it's not finalized, but
they've got someone in mind, they're working on finalizing
the details, whatever it might be.
Like it's, it's a pretty big, pretty big change, I guess.
Yeah, for sure. And I I know there's a lot of
(06:30):
like, like could Dave Filoni be it, right.
There's a lot of rumors and speculation and I think I'd love
to see Dave Filoni take charge. I think it, it is an
interesting, it's a big company,right?
And it's, it's a lot more than just the creative side.
There's a ton you have to deal with just from like personnel
and licensing and all this stuffand dealing with, you know, I'm
(06:54):
sure there's like any big company, there's all that
internal politics and dealing with the, you know, higher ups
at Disney and, and whatnot. That probably takes up a good
percentage of, of her time. And, and so is that something
Dave would want to deal with or stay more in the chief creative
officer space where you can focus just on the storytelling?
Either way, I hope they give Dave more of a continue to give
(07:15):
Dave more of a say on what's going on.
And it's possible he could take over.
And I mean, hey, George Lucas ran the whole company and he,
he, he ran all the creative decisions.
But you know, it's, it's somewhat of a different time
within Lucasfilm, so. The main thing is I really don't
want to see one of the possibilities is Kevin Feige.
I do not. Want to.
(07:36):
I can't see him. He's the Marvel guy.
I cannot. See him, I know he's the Marvel
guy, but I just, I know the namewas thrown out there.
I just, I don't see it #1 he's going to have too much on his
plate. The Marvel movies really haven't
been doing that well anyway. I'd like to see Dave do it.
But I also agree with you, William, that I think he's
better there. He's better there creatively.
(07:57):
Favro I'd like to see do it, butalso I think he's also better as
creative. As well.
I think, yeah, I think he wants to stay in film making and not
necessarily be 100% attached to Star Wars.
But maybe not, maybe not. Who knows?
Favro would be would be my guessof like the no names I.
I can't see Dave doing it, and Ican't see Faggy doing.
It do you think Favro want to belike?
I mean I guess he has been pretty immersed in Star Wars.
I'm trying to think has he done anything not Star Wars since
(08:19):
Mandalorian cause like he did. A lot.
Like. He, I want to say he's done
something. Yeah, now I should look it up
and see, but that would come into mind.
Like, what do you want to be? I mean, I guess you're running
Lucasfilm. It's not a bad gig, but.
Remember, he did he did the liveaction Jungle Book.
Exactly. Got another thing, another thing
that was just announced recentlythat he's going to be working on
(08:42):
or Disney Plus, but whatever it is.
Yeah, that prehistoric planet Immersive.
That was last year, yeah. He's got stuff though.
I just, I just hope whoever it is really understands the
property and doesn't try. I like their cadence right now
when they're doing shows, not really trying to force stuff out
(09:03):
there. You know, one after another
after another. And when it comes to the movies,
like them to go back to the event film out where you had
Episodes 789 where they're just like right after each other.
It's like making an event again.Make Star Wars Star Wars again.
Whoever becomes that person really looks at that and and and
embraces that. So I couldn't agree more there.
(09:26):
Like I, as much as I love the content, give it, make it more
of an event, you know, slow it down enough that people can
really look forward to it and wecan go back and just spend so
much time re watching existing content too.
Where as I feel like, you know, when, when's the last time you
get to re watch the Mandalorian or Ahsoka or even skeleton crew,
(09:47):
right. It's like, you know, you, you,
the films we used to watch 100 times over and now it's like,
yeah, I mean, maybe you have time to watch it, re watch it
once every couple of years, maybe if you're if you're lucky.
But yeah, it's, it's definitely a different time.
Yeah. Speaking of the films, though,
there were a couple quick updates that I'll run through on
(10:08):
the movies that are in production.
Simon Kinberg's trilogy, she says they are absolutely rolling
fast and furiously. It's gone exceptionally well,
and he's literally going to script as we speak, She says
we'll probably see something around June.
And of course, you know, praisedall of his work on Rebels as
(10:30):
well. So they're excited.
She's excited. And Lucas, I'm excited to see
what he does there. And she also says that it this
trilogy will be the next iteration and the new saga that
moves them into the future. So it certainly sounds like
Simon Kinberg is kind of drivingthe next big trilogy.
(10:51):
So that's exciting. Of course, Sean Levy's also
working on a movie that's in thefuture post Episode 9, and it'll
be me about 5 or 6 years after The Rise of Skywalker.
Let's see, she said. They have all the development
going on, you know, that time period right now as well.
(11:14):
And that's really what they're focused on with Mandalorian and
everything else. And they may bring some
characters back from the sequel trilogy, but mostly new
characters in Sean Levy's movie.James Mangold is continuing to
work on his. You know, she didn't call these
My words, Not hers. Dawn of the Jedi movie, right?
He's working on the script. And let's see, Sean's been,
(11:41):
they've been working for him by a year and a half, and he got a
little bit delayed because of some movies and awards.
And so they really try to accommodate him.
And so that movie has gotten pushed out a bit more.
Taika Waititi is apparently still working on the film as
well, but he's super busy. And, you know, Kathleen Kennedy,
she says she loves him. And if we ever do get a script
(12:02):
from Tyka, it's going to be fantastic.
But trying to tie him down, it'stricky.
So it certainly sounds like there's like, yeah, they want to
do get a movie from him, but there's really no timeline
whatsoever. She says ultimately she has
about 3:00 to 4:00 projects thatshe feels confident about right
(12:22):
now, at least on the film side. So.
I'm a little sceptical, but yeah, yeah, that's not new I.
Mean, I think what also just. Say also the she did not mention
the Rogue, the Rogue Squadron movie from this.
Yeah, yeah. Because that was supposed to be
back in development as well. Yeah, I, yeah, I didn't see, I
(12:44):
don't think she mentioned that. You're right in the, in the, in
the interview. I, I think, you know, she
mentions those three to four projects.
I my guess. Well, obviously Mandalorian
Grogu is one of them. Another one is has got to be
Dave Filoni's movie probably andmaybe the Ray movie as well.
That's like 3. And then it sounds like maybe
(13:08):
Sean Levy's movie, but that seems early.
I don't know. I'm not sure what that maybe
that is the 4th 1. I should sing 3:00 to 4:00.
But yeah, anyway, so that's that's the update on the films.
It's nice to hear an update on the films right from Kathleen
Kennedy as opposed to a bunch ofrumors.
And so at least we know that formovies in production, that will
(13:32):
almost seem to be likely to happen.
And the rest are kind of up in the air right now.
And then lastly, Jon Favreau didan interview with A with French
B FM TV Inside, and he announcedthat The Mandalorian Season 4
has already been written. And that's great to hear, 'cause
(13:53):
we didn't actually know for surethat they were going to get A,
we're going to get a Season 4, right?
We knew there was a movie. Yeah, that.
I'm so curious what that means in the context of the
Mandalorian Grogu movie. Yeah.
Like we kind of assumed I think season 4 got turned into the
movie or kind of vice versa. But maybe the movie will kick
something off and the season will continue it.
(14:14):
I don't know. That could be a jumping off
point for something new. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I, I mean, I suspect it'll it'lltake place after the movie for
sure. Kind of like The Book of Boba
Fett. It's going to be one of those
got to make sure you go watch this other thing and then come
back and continue the season. Although at least that's still
(14:35):
the Mandalorian branded. So it's a little, it's a little
better. Very true.
Yeah, Yeah, but no, I'm excited.I mean, he said the the full
quote is we, you know, he's written season.
Well, he says quote season 4. Yeah, I've written it already.
We have to know where we're going to go to tell a fully
formed story. I think in the movie it's in
(14:57):
post production. So we had to map it all out,
Dave Filoni and I, and then slowly you just write each
episode. So I was writing it during post
production on the film, I believe, because all of it has
to feel like a continuation in one full story.
So yeah, really nice to hear it's it's happening.
Mandalorian Season 4 is going tohappen.
They're not done with the story, are just ending it with the
(15:18):
movie, so that's really nice to hear.
Well, I'm going to throw something in on this because
it's not on the notes, but yeah, how do you think they're going
to be tying in Smugglers run now, since it's going to be part
of Galaxy's Edge. They're putting Mando and Grogu.
They are. Sounds like in the Millennium
Falcon. Yeah, that's sounds awesome.
(15:41):
I mean, or, or it could just be kind of like Star Tours, right?
I don't know, Like I, I do wonder.
What do you think now it could be, do you think?
I just. I find it fascinating because
now they're going to have to develop a full story around this
because are they going to be keeping a Hondo?
Hondo's got to stay in there. It doesn't sound like they're
taking them out. Yeah, it's possible.
(16:02):
It does not sound like it's going to be a full.
When you've heard Disney, whenever they try and redo a
ride, they normally shut down, do some refurb and then reopen
it. This just sounds like, like you
mentioned Star Tours, they're putting in a new film.
Yeah. So in this case, is this going
to be a new film? Ando's going to be part of it.
(16:23):
How are they going to explain Mando being part of the
Millennium Falcon with Rogue? That's true.
That's true. I don't know.
I don't know. I'm excited though.
Speaking of excited though, I think the the main reason why
we're here is to talk about Andor Season 2 and the trailer.
(16:45):
Yes please. OK, so.
Let's get into. This we did get a trailer and we
got some details. We're diving into the trailers.
Just quickly talk about the details and or season 2 they
rated will launch on April 22nd with not one, not 2, but three
episodes just like and or season1 did, which I thought was a
(17:05):
really smart choice. We talked about this at the
time, really smart choice for and or season one.
However, that's where things getinteresting.
Not only are they doing 3 episodes on the premiere on
April 22nd, but they're going todo 3 episodes a week for the
rest of the season for a total of 4 episode drops for trilogy's
(17:28):
of episodes. Steven, what was your thoughts
when you heard this announcement?
Yeah. I mean, I'm, I'm going to
repeat, I think what you and I kind of were getting back and
forth about, which is I'm, I'm kind of not surprised.
You know, season 1 Evandor very much had these three, or was it
3 or 4 kind of three episode arcs?
They did that with the the first3 and then they released weekly,
(17:50):
you know, there was the basically the, oh, I can't
remember. Is it Ferox?
Is that the name of the planet? Yeah, Ferox.
Yeah. Ferox.
Wow. Yeah, Ferox.
There was the Ferox arc, there was the arc on the planet where
they stole all the gold, there was the arc in the prison.
And then there was kind of the the finale arc, whatever you
want to call it, that wasn't really in a single location.
(18:11):
And I, I would bet money that they were looking at this, the
stats, the numbers, the viewer numbers for the first season and
they were seeing that people were dropping off after the
first or second episode of each arc.
And so we're, I am not surprised.
I think that they're kind of basically going arc by arc or
release. Like that's the, the pod
(18:33):
character that the reviewer in me gets a little concerned
because. Oh, that is a lot of content for
us to review, but I I suspect this makes sense.
Like, I think this is probably the best way to watch the show,
and especially if they're doing the same sort of thing as they
did in the first season, which at this point seems all but
confirmed. Yeah, no, I'm, I'm super
excited, Tom. I think this totally works
(18:55):
because if it's supposed to be 3years before you get to Rogue
One, basically this is going to be your 4 is going to be
episodes of one and three. Your 3 is going to need it.
Episode 4/6 it was going to be 7-9 and right up to Rogue One is
going to be 1012. So they are jumping those years
for a reason to get to Rogue One.
(19:16):
And I think if they did it any other way, they would possibly
lose their audience. And this way they can tell their
story as that year in those three arcs, I mean those 3
episodes. Yeah, yeah, I agree.
I agree. Yeah, I am very, very
(19:38):
interested. I'm excited because you know,
as, as you said, they're going to be 4 arcs and each arc is
going to take a place, you know, over a different year, right?
There's there's we have 4 years told Rogue One, each of the arcs
first arc will be 4 years away from Rogue One.
The second arc will be 321 year away.
And as we kind of lead our way into into Rogue One.
(20:00):
And so I am. Very much excited about, very
excited about this. And yeah, it's going to be a lot
to record. We're going to we're going to
have three episodes a week on April 22nd, April 29th, May 6th
and May 13th. But we're not recording 3
episodes, we're going to record 1 episode.
(20:21):
Yes, exactly. Yeah, we will.
Yeah, we will probably do 1 episode covering the entire arc.
But if you think about it, we'rebasically getting a new movie
every week for four weeks, right?
You got that is. Perfect.
That's right. Yeah, it's like it's a distinct
arc. These are not like 30 minutes
long typically, right? And or tends to run a little bit
(20:42):
more, anywhere from 30 to 50 minutes.
And so it's going to be, yeah, it's going to be really, it's
going to be really cool. I'm excited.
I'm very excited about a mini movie every week.
(21:03):
Yeah. So OK, so let's let's dive into
the trailer itself. Yeah, so I guess there were
actually 2, right? There was the initial trailer.
And then we had a busy weekend last weekend and couldn't
record. And you released a special look
just a couple days ago as we're recording this now.
(21:23):
Tom, what was your first thoughtabout the trailer?
I I think this is going to be divisive with somebody on this.
I loved, I'm sorry, I love the music for this trailer.
I completely understand how I said this earlier.
I loved how they did skeleton crew.
They used major Tom. They used in universal language
(21:46):
for the song. OK, I get it.
I get why they did that one for this one.
I love it because I thought it was so fresh.
I thought because of I love the song and how they edited it to
the song I worked. It completely worked for me.
(22:11):
I watched that trailer 4 times within 1/2 hour time frame
back-to-back because I just thought how it worked with the
visuals was just perfect. I loved the music so and staking
my ground on that one right now. That's fair, and as a surprise
(22:33):
to no one, I'll say I didn't even notice the music really.
I thought it was fine but like oh.
My gosh. Does that mean you're the you're
the one, William. OK.
William yeah, no, I I mean, I I'm a big, you know, I'm a big
fan of of of the Star Wars musicand I did not love the use of
the revolution starts now in a Star Wars trailer.
(22:53):
It was like very, it was real world, more rocket, you know,
like it is. It's not star Weezy Star Warsy
whatsoever. I know like yes, it fit and it
worked. Taking a step back as a trailer
was fine. Not my cup of tea as much for
from the music side of things. And I skeleton crew dip their
(23:16):
toes in the water with this typeof thing with a, a tease version
of a major Tom or monkey one go.And I thought it worked better
because it was a tease and you're like, Oh yeah, it's like
a real song, but it's, you know, alien enough.
This was a little too far in my opinion, but the trailer itself
was, was awesome. I, I, I loved seeing everything
(23:38):
we got to see in the in the trailer, you know, like the man,
like K2. SO and we got to see Director
Chronic back and the Death Star, you know, obviously really cool.
Some of my favorite characters from from Rogue One.
So it's awesome to see them. When you brought up Chronic, the
(24:02):
one scene that I just love wherehe's standing by the window and
he does that chuckle. Yes.
OK. And I, I love that scene because
how it works. And I, I, I love that scene.
I, I cannot wait to see him in this show.
I really cannot. Yeah, no.
(24:25):
And did you guys catch Chronic talking with Mon Mothma and
Davos Golden, which is really interesting?
I did not, but yeah, that makes me very curious.
Like remember 'cause remember Mon did the deal with Davo and
his son and her movie, her daughter potentially getting
(24:46):
married and there's like a party.
OK, I wonder. It could be their wedding.
This is where I think. It's the wedding.
I think that's the wedding. You think it's the wedding?
OK, I was thinking the same thing I think.
I think it's the wedding becauseif you watch, it's really quick
cuts. I think it's the third time you
kind of see the party, see Davo and I believe his wife with this
big what looks like camera. So.
(25:09):
I I literally think it's one of it.
It is literally the wedding. Interesting.
I honestly would not be surprised.
Yeah, that may be within the first three.
The first 3 episodes we see thatthere.
That would not make sense depending on the time jump from
when and or season 1 ended to now.
(25:31):
Seems like it wouldn't make sense to have it.
OK unless it's a baby shower, which I doubt.
I believe it's a wedding. I mean, it is it we're going to
see over four years. So it's possible, right?
The wedding is like 2-3 four years after and or season 1 or
(25:52):
it could be sooner. I don't know.
I'm I'm very just to see what happens with Mon Mothma and the
the kind of the Pickles she got themselves her she herself and
the the family in trying to hidethe money that was is going to
the rebellion. So yeah, I, I love that that
storyline in Season 1 and I'm super excited to see what the
(26:13):
way they take it in Season 2. I think what's going to be
fascinating is what happens to her husband because she set him
up. Yeah.
So that's, that is what I'm going to, I'm going to be
fascinated to see is the falloutfrom that 'cause you want to
talk about watching her set him up.
(26:33):
Yeah, we also see Lutheran Rail meeting with Mon Mothma.
We see. What are the other Mon Mothma
moments? I'm trying to think We talked
about the the wedding. Well, I guess there's let's.
Take off top of my head. Steven, you mentioned Ferrick's
right there is the the this planet with the fields and I'm
(26:56):
not sure what planet it is. I almost wonder if it's like a
almost reminded me of Lathal at first or, or, or maybe even
Dantwine from the Knightsville Republic games.
Oh, actually. I bet you it is Dantwine.
I would. I would put money on that, Yeah.
I mean, we know Dantean was usedby the Rebellion 3 episode 4.
(27:19):
That would put the timing about right.
I Yeah. And you're right, it does look
right out of Knights of Guild Republic.
So. Yep.
And there's like a farm and there we see, we see everyone
from Ferrex, we see B2 EMO, we see Brazo, we see what?
(27:42):
Who else? So we see who I think he's.
Oh yeah, bras. Was that kids running through
the field? Yeah, he was attacking.
Exactly. We see Dicks clean there.
It's yeah, who knows? I mean, Cassie does tell him to
go hide on the Ganji moon at theend of season 1, but I don't
know, I feel like it's enough time has passed.
Maybe they would have moved somewhere else.
(28:05):
Yeah. But yeah, it's, it's cool to
see, you know, all these the, I'm glad everyone from Ferrix is
back. They're not just out of the
show, right? Because it's, they could have
moved on and, and, and been donewith their storyline.
But there's clearly, clearly not.
(28:25):
Would that make sense? Just even go ahead head.
Another thing that's really standing out for me as well, the
costume design across the board looks phenomenal.
Absolutely. In particular, it it feels more
varied to me than I think the first season did.
Like the first season very much had I maybe not more varied, but
(28:47):
it's they're using more of it like Cassian in the first season
almost always kind of I felt like was kind of dingy or dirty
or was in jail here, like the trailer ends kind of on almost
like a James Bond S Stinger, it feels like to me where he's got
that kind of very slicked back formal sort of look just yeah,
really doing. I don't know.
(29:08):
It looks phenomenal. I'm so curious see what the four
arcs are going to be right. I feel like, I mean, season 1
still told Mon Mothma's story throughout everything, so her
story doesn't necessarily have to be tied to a very specific
arc. I feel like maybe you know, the
ferrets crew on it. Let's just say it's Dantooine
(29:29):
because I, I, I suspect it mightbe Dantooine might be an arc.
There is there's a a bunch of shots of some sort of like.
I just realized it may not be Dantooine 'cause we see
stormtroopers on it and if stormtroopers were on Dantooine.
That's true. That's true.
I would imply that they'd found the base.
Maybe. I mean like there's obviously
(29:50):
ways. Unless they killed the
stormtroopers and they never gota message out or something.
Yeah, it's a little more Kenobi and Vader face off, you know, in
between the, you know, pre A&H type of like, yeah, you can work
around it, but it's a little more.
You know what it's going to be, It's going to be whatever it is
(30:11):
until we actually see the episode when they actually name
the planet. Yeah, I am hoping it's not going
to be lethal. That's my yeah, I, I not.
So I'm done with it. I mean, we saw it live action in
Minnesota, so I feel like probably not.
But you're right. Like Steven there, you know,
Cyril car and had a really cool, interesting suit as well.
(30:31):
And yeah, suit and tie. Where could I get that tie?
I'm I, I, I, I'm not a guy that likes ties, but how that thing
works on it, I mean, it's not really around his neck.
It's a little bit lower I can deal with.
That yeah, it's pretty cool space TIE.
It's, I mean, Speaking of ties, we also see, we also see an
(30:53):
actual TIE Avenger for the firsttime.
Pretty sure it's a TIE Avenger. That's surprising, but it looks
phenomenal. And I, I think Cassian is, I
think Cassian is a TIE pilot because we, there's an action
figure that says he'll, he's a sign our test pilot.
(31:15):
And so I think. That's what they're hinting at
when you're watching the trailer.
Yeah. And so I don't know, I feel like
some sort of like undercover at sign our fleet systems would be
a really cool plot for one of the trilogies.
Oh man, I'm trying to remember. I mean, this was this is very
specific to me. I would love to see a subplot
around like the Rebellion infiltrating and using income
(31:40):
and getting the X wings and you know, various.
That'd be so cool tips out of itthat.
Would be great. Very specific to the type of
Star Wars that I enjoy, like the'cause I believe it was a, a
team of income engineers were actually kind of like the B wing
plot from Rebels, I guess. But yeah, they were working for
the Rebellion in secret while being paid by the Empire and
(32:02):
then funneling ships out to the Rebellion like that.
All that type of stuff. That would be phenomenal.
I can see it though, Steven, because especially, you know,
Andor, Season 1 was really abouthow you get Cassian Andor from
being this random guy to fighting for the rebellion.
But Season 2 is really more about him being an active member
of the Rebellion and going on these, you know, missions, being
(32:25):
a spy and this type, that type of stuff.
Remember the trailer? Lutheran does sit here and call
him out on it because he's sitting there.
Oh God, he sits there and says one thing.
Then Andor comes back saying I'mthinking like a soldier.
And Luther comes back saying youneed to think like a leader.
Exactly. Yeah, Yeah.
Lutheran's so good. I can't wait to see him back on
(32:47):
screen again. And so me too.
And, and so like I could see them saying, yeah, we're going
to we're going to go deep in because they had some deep cuts
in Andor season 1. We're going to just do the the
income sign our plot right and how the rebellion gets the X
wings and that'd be cool. I can see it.
(33:09):
Another one I think we might get.
There's a bunch of scenes of like a protest on this planet
that I'll say it looks a lot like the Museum of Science in
Valencia, Spain. And we were there and we went
there like they we kind of randomly were walking around the
(33:29):
city and just stumbled upon like, this is really cool.
Looks like Westworld. We're like, oh, actually was
where they filmed parts of Westworld.
And it looks like they may have filmed the indoor season 2 there
as well. It's digitally edited, of
course, but looks very similar, like that planet with the
location with all the white pillars and glass and
everything. But it might be that plan, It
(33:53):
might be another one. There's definitely seems to be
like the Empire getting rid of fire on a crowd of civilians.
And if you guys remember from Rogue, from Rebels, there was
the whole Gorman massacre that triggered.
That's why Mon Mothma kind of decided to rise up and fight
against the the Empire more obviously, right?
(34:15):
I think we might see the Gorman massacre.
I might be Gorman and I wonder if we're going to see the Gorman
massacre in in season 2 as well. And so I can see that being.
What would be interesting? Yeah, and there's a whole bunch
of people there, right? We see Cyril Karne there.
We see. Shoot who else?
There's a You don't see Deirdre there?
(34:36):
No, Dee. She she is Deirdre is there,
seemingly ordering the the stormtroopers to open fire.
I I may have misunderstood that May misunderstood mistook that
scene because I thought she may have been like, let's say on a
ship and then orders it. I didn't get the feeling she.
Was yeah, it was possible, yeah.Daryl, I thought, was definitely
there. Yeah, you know, yeah, there was,
(34:58):
there was definitely Deidre there.
I was so great. I'm excited to see more of her.
So yeah, I don't know, I think maybe that's three arcs we said,
right? Sinar arc, the Gorman arc, the
Ferrex Friends arc. The thing I'm most curious about
is just this season is spread over what, four years?
(35:19):
I think they've said that is. That's a lot of time.
I'm really curious where and howthat ends up working.
Yeah. I mean, does each arc, I think
each arc will just be a moment in time and then they'll
probably Fast forward. They may have it span a whole
year as well potentially. I don't know, it seems like
they're taking milestones withinthose four years.
(35:43):
They're hitting those they're going to be they're they are the
milestones that are really startpushing the rebellion forward.
Because let's say there is thereis that rebellion that is
literally, you know that everybody's just pushed down,
OK. And they sat there and executed
all these these innocent civilians.
That's one now, and that leads to the rebellion actually
(36:06):
getting weapons because you do see Monmatma's sister be getting
weapons. And they even talk about that a
bit, that now they're starting that the rebellion's starting to
get weapons. So that may be another arc
because the catalyst was this massacre and now there's
weapons. And then you saw Saag Guerrera
sitting there freaking out over a guy saying you're here, you're
right here, you know, get ready to fight.
(36:27):
So. I would think Saag Guerrera
could be another arc to potentially because it's not
like a dark and stormy planet ofsome sort.
There's a lot of shots on this dark, stormy planet.
I don't know, like we could see even 4.
That was cool. And another one which is
(36:51):
interesting was was that Dakar. It looked like there were, you
know, some ships taking off froma Rebel base.
And it certainly looks like Dakar from Force Force Awakens.
Yeah. Or.
That as well. I was a little perplexed by
that. Like it's a very distinctive.
(37:13):
Like the green rolling hills? Yeah, exactly.
And we do know. We do know the Rebel.
That rebel base on Dakar, though, was established during
the Galactic Civil War and then abandoned afterward.
So it's possible to see that onetoo?
That's probably what it is then, yeah.
Like it? Yeah.
Super cool. Cheryl's mom.
(37:35):
Mom is back as well. Edie Karn.
It's it's great. I just, I am so excited to see
where they take this story. Seeing so many KX droids and how
Cassian meets K2. SO K2.
SO just knocking people off of the ledges is great.
(37:57):
So good. I'm waiting for the insults from
Cyril's mom. That's what I'm waiting.
For yes. Yeah, exactly.
I am just so ready for this. This looks so cool.
The the first trailer was great I already got me excited even
though I didn't love the music. The second trailer more of a
special look because there's interviews with cast and crew
intermixed but looks amazing as well and even better music and
(38:24):
it just got me so hyped. I as if I wasn't already for AND
or season 2 but now I'm like extra extra hyped.
I know the visuals look phenomenal.
Like I said, the costumes look phenomenal.
There's nothing in this that I'mnot looking forward to.
And it's they like they've got atrack record, you know, of
success here. And it just makes me all the
(38:45):
more excited for it. Yes, indeed, indeed.
They put a lot of time and effort into all this, and you
can tell just by watching, even in that little special luck, the
amount of extras, the amount of care they put into like aliens.
We're getting more aliens in this episode, from the look of
it. There's that shot of Von Mothma
walking down a hallway, and there's that big towering alien
(39:08):
next to her, and then next to him there's another alien.
I mean, that's Star Wars. Yeah, yeah, so cool.
I am very excited. I can't wait.
Any anything else from the trailers?
I think we covered it fairly exhaustively.
If you haven't seen it, go watchthe trailer.
(39:28):
What are you doing listening to this?
Go watch the trailers and come back because they're they're
awesome. Yeah.
Anything else? You guys, I cannot wait.
Can't wait. I'm.
I'm good, yeah. Well, I think that might wrap it
up for us then. We still have a little bit of
time about a month and 1/2 untilAndorra Season 2 drops.
(39:50):
So I'm probably I'm sure we'll be back with another episode.
In the meantime, we also have Star Wars Celebration that will
be running just before and or season 2 starts.
Celebration Japan is April 18th through 20th and and OR starts
two days later. So I suspect folks in that
(40:11):
celebration might get to see sell and OR.
Early, if I, if I had to to guess, unfortunately we will not
be there would have loved to butit just didn't work out this
year. But we will be of course
covering celebration Japan. We have lots of our reviews of
course of Andor coming out. So there's lots of lots of
exciting stuff to to talk about between starting in I mean
(40:35):
April's going to be a very, verybusy month April, May, but so
we'll give you guys a little bitmore of a break.
You know, we may do another episode in between now and then,
but definitely excited to talk all about and or once that drops
and see what happens in celebration.
Do we get news about Kathleen Kennedy's replacement, her
successor? Do we get news about more films,
(40:58):
more shows? We don't really know aside from,
you know, we know there's now a Mandalorian season 4.
We know there's Ahsoka season 2.We know there's another visions
coming out at some point. That's kind of.
I hope they announced another animated series.
We have to, I'm sure that has tobe a celebration, right?
Yeah, that would have to be. If there's any kind of
announcement for an animated series other than Visions, it
(41:22):
would have to come out celebration.
I think so. I think so so.
Not a kids show. Yeah, I know.
Anyway, well, I think that aboutwraps it up for this week.
Thank you guys for listening as always, and we'll be back soon
(41:42):
with more great Star Wars stuff to talk about.
