Standing by, you're listening tothe Ion Cannon podcast.
Laugh it up, fuzzball. Your source for entertainment
reviews from a Galaxy far, far away?
This is it. Hey, laser clickers.

(00:24):
Welcome to the Iron Canon podcast.
I'm one of your hosts, Steven. I'm joined by my friends and Co
host Tom and William and we are back here again.
I was going to try and come up with a pun for that but I'm
failing now. I'm glad you didn't say we were
not friends anymore. So.
Yeah, I that would how? Could you say that, William?
That would be. Fun reviewing season 1 episode 6

(00:45):
of Skeleton Crew titled Zero Friends again.
I would never think to make a pun about us not being friends.
That just seems heartless. Oh yes.
But did I? Why?
Yes, but yeah, we got another episode of Skeleton crew to, to,
to discuss. We are now 6 episodes into the
season. We are 75% done with season 1,

(01:06):
which is kind of hard to believe, but you know, I, it's,
it's another fun one. So, Tom, shall we, should we
dive in? Yes, we are going to dive into
Skeleton Crew Season 1 Episode 6Zero Friends again written by
Star Wars alum and or still StarWars director who's been right
before Bryce Dallas Howard written by Myung Joe Wesner.

(01:30):
In this episode, relationships spray under the pressures of a
difficult journey. Now, do you guys get the feeling
that this was a bit of like a Dave Filoni episode where it was
kind of quiet for a bit, a little bit of a breather until
it got to the end? Yeah, it's, it's, it's, I hadn't

(01:50):
thought about about it that way,but that's a really interesting
analogy. And of course, Bryce Dallas
Howard is, is great. She's directed some phenomenal
episodes of Mandalorian and stuff.
So yeah, no, I, I, I could, I hadn't thought it that way, but
I, I could see it. Yeah, I could.
I I thought of it. We all know how she's done with
The Mandalorian and other episodes within the universe,

(02:11):
and she's always had the really good action episodes, a lot of
stuff. This one, this one didn't really
feel like her episode until it got toward the end of it.
It was definitely a transitional.
It was important for the character development, bringing
the kids back together again, moving all the chess pieces into
the right place. And it was still very
entertaining, I will say. But yeah, it felt like it was

(02:35):
setting things up and. And now by the end of the
episode, everyone is officially on their way to Adatan.
And I think given that we have two different groups heading to
Adaton, I think they have to allarrive at the beginning of next
week, you know, most likely. And so I think we're finally
heading back to Adaton. Haven't seen the parents in a

(02:55):
little bit. So there's definitely some
something going on there. I think that we have to resolve
probably next week and start getting into, but at least it's
it seems like we are well positioned for what will come
next. Yep.
I'm putting my money on the kidsfirst.
They're going to get there just before the Pirates.

(03:18):
That would that would make sense.
Well, and, and like you said it,it, it this episode is really
split into two distinct parts and they don't the the they
never really crossover at all throughout this episode.
We kind of see them like you seethe ships briefly, but for the
most part, these these storylines are, are very
separate, right. We've got jobs captured by the
pirates and the kids attempting to escape Lanupa.

(03:42):
Should we start with Jod and thepirates first?
I think that was a that was a very entertaining plot.
We've got it was. Entertaining because I have one
question that I'm going to have to ask the Pirates, but can
first. We'll get to that, but go ahead
and kick us off. So you know Jod, right, He he
has a lightsaber in the last episode, never addressed in this

(04:05):
one, which I was a little surprised by and but I was very
thankful that they didn't quickly resolve the conflict
with Jod, unlike with SM33, where the next episode this it
started in Oh, he's he's totallyfine.
He's relatively good. Again, Jod and the kids are

(04:25):
still set up this entire split up this entire episode and they
do not resolve the conflict, so I was glad they didn't act too
quickly there. But instead Jod he, he, he tries
to exit tack Renaud's secret lair via a manhole in the
landing pad, and I just love that he's completely covered in
gold and other spoils draped around him.

(04:47):
It's pretty funny at 7:30 3/2. And this is where I have the
issue. He's coming out of a manhole
cover with all the stuff around him.
They're not even going to take alook to see what's inside that
manhole cover and all the treasures that were down there.
That that's my one thing about the whole thing.
Yeah, like, why wouldn't the pirates be like, wait, where'd
you get that? Or, or the staff or or

(05:07):
something? Yeah, it's true.
Also it's. And it also on top of that, when
it goes later, when they're justlike, you know, God mentions
that he saw pack or nod. It's like, well, there was a
hologram. It's like I, I, I saw him in the
in the hologram. I mean, it's anyway.
Yeah, there was a few moments like that.
I, I, I agree, Like there was the most noticeable, right?

(05:30):
He gets out. He, he pulls himself out of that
manhole And you know, the staff is there, the hotel staff is
there first kind of looking at him askance.
And there's, you know, some funny jokes about, oh, I'm ready
to check out. And then the pirates show up,
which was a big surprise to me because I thought they all died
in the acid last week. I was thinking about that.

(05:54):
I don't. I took it as like kid show logic
where the acid started bubbling in and then that's when the
pirates all left at that moment ran out and we hear the
screaming. But it's intentionally maybe
not, you know, them all dying horribly.
Right. I mean, it sounded like they're
all dying horribly. I think you're right, Steven.
It was a bit of a disappointment, though, because

(06:14):
they're not. They don't seem to be hurt
whatsoever, even like pockets there.
Every single one of the pirates.Yeah, yes, So I was, that was I
guess the the only disappointingpart in that it was it seemed
to, I guess they're they did kind of take the easy path again

(06:35):
and kind of undo stuff. Maybe going back to your your
point, Tom around this is a, youknow, maybe it's a kid retelling
the episode and so maybe that explains it.
I I think it's an interesting theory.
But I, I, I think it is I We'll see how it all plays out.
It's easy. Easy way to explain it, yeah.

(06:56):
Yeah, also what happened to SM 33?
I loved how he pops out and John's like attack and they just
stun him and he's it's it's overalmost indie esque, right or you
know, with like the the whip, the gun, but we never see him
again. Like what happened to SM 33?
Is he? I don't think he the pirates
took him, right? Yes, they did.
Oh, they did. Yeah, they did carry him.

(07:17):
Do we see him later? I didn't see him on the pirate
ship, I I thought. You're correct in that respect.
OK, I did not see him on the pirate ship, but they did drag
him away. Yeah, when they were dragging
away JOD. So maybe he's somewhere on their
ship, just in a yeah cargo hold or something.
Yeah. Yeah, the X Wings also returned,

(07:38):
which is nice as they, you know,as the pirates are leaving, the
X Wings arrive and we get a. It felt a lot like the Taco
Donna right in episode 7 with the X wings flying overhead,
like the way Bryce Downs Howard shot.
The moment was like when when like Finn is looking at the X

(07:59):
wings arriving on Taco Donna. It's not like, you know,
spinning camera angle and we'll talk more about the kids in a
moment. But it was, I appreciate how the
kids noticed the X wings in the sky and actually called out how
and they kind of made that connection.
Oh, wait, they're the, they're the good guys.
We thought they were the bad guys, but they're actually the

(08:20):
good guys. So that's really nice because,
you know, they don't want to know what X wings are.
They only had Jod's word to go on.
I mean, it helps at this point, you know, it's become pretty
clear that JOD is not not the most trustworthy, perhaps
correct, correct that we say. And also they were warned or she
was warned or the kids were warned when they were on the

(08:42):
planet trying to get the coordinates.
Brett Atten from the I forgot her name, but let's say sorry,
the librarian. What?
Was that Tom I? I can't remember.
Oh, wait a minute. Good.
Yeah, that's right. I don't remember that.
I'll. Be here all day.
Thank you, I know you will, God.That was too funny.

(09:03):
Friend of the show Bruce was wasjoking that this should be a
drinking game. Every time you they say at aten
you take a drink and that would people would not do well.
Yeah, I don't. Remember it?
Sorry, pirates. OK, so Speaking of pirates, Tom,
what did you think of the piratebase?
Because they they take jaw to see Captain Brutus and.

(09:25):
I liked it. I also kind of like, I think
somewhere there was a nice little musical sting that was
there that had a good pirate feel to it.
Almost I, I almost want to say Pirates of the Caribbean feel to
it, but I liked it. I the one thing I really
appreciate about this, you got to see aliens.

(09:47):
I mean, they really, really madethat place look like there were
a boatload of pirates in there. And not just humans, but you saw
all species throughout the Galaxy in there.
And that's what I think really is making this because they put
the time and effort to make it look like you're in a great
universe with all these characters.
Do you feel like you're in Star Wars?
It's not just, you know, let's go to and or when you're on

(10:10):
chorus on and you're basically seeing a lot of humans which are
in the upper Crest of the political system.
There are a few aliens, but in this place, when it comes to the
pirates, there's aliens everywhere.
That makes it feel so lived in and so though in universe really
world building. Yeah, Steven, you're trying to
say something, I think. Nope.

(10:32):
Not on this one at least, sorry. You were going to say something
Surprise. Yeah.
You were. Yeah.
No, I, I, I, sorry. I agree with you, Tom.
It's cool to see all the all thealiens.
Some look a little a little weird, like I thought, I don't
know, something. They look a little off, a little
TV showy sometimes. But I guess I can't fault them

(10:55):
too much. It's a.
You can. You can.
You can make it. You can make it work.
Yeah, because of the. Environment it's in, yeah.
Exactly. Exactly, So you know, Brutus
orders John's execution, but oneof the pirates Chelt does.
She feels sympathetic and says no, he needs he deserves equal

(11:16):
time to at least plead his case. And and instead of pleading his
case for why he shouldn't be executed, he instead pivots and
and and tells everyone about howhe's found Captain Reynolds lair
and and he knows, you know, thathe's discovered at Aten and you

(11:37):
guys can have infinite wealth. And he starts playing on all of
the pirates emotions, you know, calling out, Hey, I know you
wanted to glow weed farm or I know you wanted a fleet of your
own. And if you come with me, you'll
get everything. And I also just loved how he how
he back did a backhanded compliment to to Brutus.

(12:01):
He's a great first mate, but you'll just get, you know,
scraps continuing if you if you just.
And they agreed with him. They they agreed.
With him, it's so good and it itshows just how much he knows
right, because he used to leave them right.
He knows all of the pirates and what they want and their their
motivations and he plays around all their their heartstrings and

(12:23):
he gets his way. Like even Brutus is like, OK,
we're going to adapt and but if you lie, you're going out this
airlock. And that's basically the end of
Jod storyline in this episode. Yeah, it's a pretty
straightforward one. I'm a little a little surprised

(12:44):
there the crew is willing to trust him again since this seems
to be kind of a pattern for him.But I guess they've got the
airlock right there. So, you know, well, they got
they. Got the airlock, but I would
almost make that argument if he came out of a let's say manhole
with all this jewels and treasure around him.
At least he's got something to say.

(13:04):
Look, I found this and he could say if we don't find that at and
hey, we can go back and pillage here because you saw all the
treasures that were around me and SM 33.
You can have all that. Sure, you got to get rid of the
SPA above, but look at what's below, hey?
Yeah, no, you're, you're, you'reright.
I think that probably lended some credence to his, his story

(13:27):
about discovering at AT and and we got a little sea part, sea
shanty almost. So it was kind.
Of yeah, that was kind of cool, yeah.
So the the other big part of theepisode is the kids escaping
from Lanupa. And again, it's somewhat
straightforward, but we get somemore character moments.

(13:48):
This episode is, I'd say more focused on KB in particular.
It looks like the booby trap chair just leads down a series
of tunnels that spit you out below the spa go.
Ahead, Steven. Sorry this more than anything
else I think cracked me up just cause like we've already

(14:09):
established, there's the the anti gravity spike trap in the
tunnels, there's the acid bath. I feel like there might have
been a. Was there a laser bolt trap as
well? Well, there was the one there,
the decapitation one. Yeah, that's.
Right. The laser that goes above the
heads. Yeah.
So the this entire layer is filled with instant death trap,

(14:33):
except for this one, which is kind of just like a nice slide,
you know? Yeah.
A nice a nice slide. Takes you outside.
It takes you outside, but it puts you in an environment that
ended up to possibly be very hostile.
Well, I mean not. It did make me wonder, maybe
this is a a time thing where like maybe this used to drop you

(14:55):
into, you know, the giant acid bath that was the sea or
something like that. OK, OK.
That's fair. That that's my working theory.
Because I have the same thought as you, Steven.
I was like, that's the least deadly of all the traps.
Like, oh, here's a nice fun slide and you're fine.
And you know, like you've discovered the lair, you've
gotten as far as you can go. You almost got to the but we're

(15:18):
going to let you live. You're good.
But who knows, maybe also Tac just thought he'd accidentally
sit on the chair and just didn'twant to die every single time.
And so could be that too. Yeah, good point.
But technically, if you look at where they landed and they had
the little land crabs that was basically follow, follow,
follow, follow, follow where thekids almost became food.

(15:40):
It could be it could be looked at.
It's like a very I know it's a kids show.
OK, a very slow death. I feel like possible, yeah.
Pirate probably would not have ended up in the same situation
as the kids. Yeah, I know.
I'm stretching here. I really AM.
Yeah, yeah, but yeah, no, I guess so, you know, it starts

(16:02):
off KB is not moving right when they when they go down the the
the slide, I guess for for lack of a better word.
And her occipital acceptable link is apparently needs to be
reset. And and throughout this episode
we discovered that she's actually basically dying, but
she doesn't really tell anyone about it.
She's too almost embarrassed or doesn't want to worry them that

(16:24):
she just kind of just keeps going along.
And part of that is her dynamic with Fern where she's worried
Fern doesn't care kind of lives in her own world.
But even with whim, she doesn't tell him that she's dying until
after he saves her. And I thought that was a kind of
a a surprising and yet kind of makes sense.

(16:46):
You know how she just didn't want to share her her.
Struggles when she even talks about how she's she only has you
know 1 friend Fern and he's afraid that by you know, being
needy effectively even though I don't know if I don't think you
can classify like hey I'm about to die I need help.
Right, exactly. Right.

(17:09):
Yeah, like I, I thought this episode, particularly Fern and
Wim had some of the best like character development we've seen
out of the show thus far, which even more impressive again, out
of, you know, 2 super young actors.
But maybe realizing that it's OKto ask for help whim being whim
including I'm like, no, why would I not help you?

(17:30):
You know, this is this is what Ido.
I don't know. It was kind of a heart warming
sort of authority and development here.
It was. The the, the other thing that I
found fascinating was he talked about an accident.
Ever since the accident, I've realized that I can't do or keep
up with Fern the way that Fern normally is, or basically just

(17:51):
be a real kid again. OK, So if there was an accident,
then my idea of her being a Cyborg is out the window.
But what kind of accident that had to have this happen to her?
Yeah, that's. Fascinating.
Oh, I'd missed, I'd missed that line.
Yeah, 'cause it's, it's pretty serious, it seems like.
It was very serious because she had basically, let's say, a

(18:14):
computer, computer memory chip in her head or, you know,
computer circuits in her head. So it's again, it's like the
night. The fascinating thing about the
show is they're dropping little seeds to keep you interested, to
keep going with the show, and you want to see explanation and

(18:34):
they're wrapping up some as theygo.
So it's great. Yeah, I mean, that's a.
Fascinating thing I want to know.
Yeah, I know we talked about it in a couple of episodes ago.
What what what what happened to her?
Was it by design? Was it an exit?
And now we now we get that answer.
I, I wonder since it's because it's the kids show, we probably
will not they probably will not tell us exactly what happened.

(18:55):
Maybe we they will. But you know, it it, it is nice
to get more character development for her.
And, and he was for Fern right as she was climbing the the side
of the mountain, trying to get up to the Onyx sender because
she really wanted to climb up the side and, and whim decided
he wanted to follow the trash crabs.

(19:17):
And you know, KB went with with whim and Neil kind of ended up
just with Fern. I don't feel like he I feel like
he felt maybe bad that Fern was going by herself, but in the
process, he was really struggling to get up that the
climb up the, the side of this mountain.
And kind of like how KB had shared that she was worried Fern

(19:37):
may not stop to help her. It was nice to see Fern take a
moment and realize, no, Neil needs some help.
And she located a rope for him and, and kind of jury rigged a
support system so that he could make it all the way up to the
top. And that was really nice to see
and shows that, yeah, she's, shedoesn't, she's not selfish,

(19:57):
right? She she does care about others
too, even if sometimes she can be a little bit.
Focused on the task at hand or in her own world as as KB says.
It's a really great playoff of the first episode, I think,
where we see her really not taking into consideration, you
know, KB in particular. Yeah, like, just sorry, I really

(20:21):
enjoyed this episode. Like, I'm kind of sad.
It's it's a little bit of a quieter episode in a lot of
ways, but it really does pay offon a lot of the character themes
throughout. And we'll, you know, let our
heroes return to at at transformed, if you will.
You know, I don't remember an atat.
Tom, that's true I don't I don'teither at least at least KB does

(20:44):
because she has the coordinates in her head.
So that's that's KB definitely remembers at at now yeah.
Then we have the the trash crabssequence and those are kind of
cool. They the the creatures almost
reminded me of the I, I I even had it written down from Ahsoka

(21:05):
the. Oh yes, I know what you're
talking about. The naughty, naughty.
That's what it is. The naughty.
Yeah, But it's a nice twist. Where we in in Ahsoka, right?
And in most Star Wars things, the little creatures are they're
helpful. They follow.
They look a little creepy at first.
You follow them and turns out they help you out.

(21:26):
And in this case, they turn thaton its head and the trash crabs
are actually just as bad as theysound, if not worse.
And you know, these trash crabs lead Wim and KB to this.
Well, first actually lead them to, you know, the edges of a

(21:48):
junkyard where they find the parts for KB.
We talked about how we repaired KBI did find a little funny that
he just melted a bunch of wires and poured it into the sand.
And it makes a perfect micro fuse.
Which, well, she did. She did take the old microfuse,
put it in the sand to make the mold.
Right, but. That was it's a very.
Sandy part I guess. I get it, I I get it.

(22:09):
But it's a suspension of disbelief.
But I totally get it, yes. Right, right.
But that was that was a good thing because she was like a
seconds from death and she played it really well too,
right. And how she just slowly started
shutting down and, and whatnot. But then we, they, you know,

(22:33):
the, they continue following these crabs up to the top of
this big junkyard and they see this giant that's called the
officially, I guess, the Mama crab climbing over the debris.
And it is terrifying. I wasn't expecting the Moana
crossover. Oh my God, thank you, thank you.
I almost, I almost myself started singing Shiny.

(22:56):
Yep, almost. Yes.
Oh yeah, but there. Was one large.
Crab. Lots of tiny junk on its back,
basically, you know, 1 to one. Yeah.
But this crab, this crab, if yousaw the behind the scenes thing,
had at least AC 3 POK 2, SO and an R2D2 that was fully

(23:17):
functional on there, that was. Pretty cool.
And which? Parts of the X wings, parts of
the Falcon. Yeah, it's it's really cool.
I also love the nickname the Crab Tetanus, which is just
great. It's a great name for.
Yeah. It's a great name for the crab.
I actually like it better than Mama crab.
TET apostrophe NISS. That's the name they nickname

(23:38):
they gave it. Yeah, and I think this one, this
one outshine, shiny in a heartbeat, period.
I don't care. So good.
Yeah. And I did like how Wim even
admits like I'm always wrong about who the good guy is.
It's it's great. It's great.
Yeah. And that's when, you know, Fern
and Neil, who are climbing the side of the Cliff, they see

(24:00):
these industrial crane ships pick up the Onyx sender and they
luckily are able to jump on board and kind of steer it a
little bit so they can try to get back to their ship.
And it takes them, they're able to go straight.
You know, they kind of takes them toward women KB and they
see them and they're able to. It's very convenient, but it

(24:20):
works out, right. It's a great moment.
They're able to fly the these, like, crane ships down past
women. Sorry.
Yeah, women KB and rescue them. And they all crashed into the
ground, safe from the trash crabs.
But, you know, they all make up and everyone's happy.
But then something even more dangerous appears, and that's

(24:43):
the giant scrapper barge. Basically enormous incinerator.
Tom, your thoughts when you saw this incinerator?
Well, as with the kids, didn't think they were going to get the
Onyx Ender out of there because that was basically taking
everything that was in this trash wasteland and smelting it

(25:05):
down. But it did set up a really nice
thing to where, as I've always said, if you're going to call
attention to something in an episode, you better use it
later. Though it did set that up
nicely. Yeah, and it it's the cool
design, right? This giant incinerator that just
sucks up junk and just emulates it.

(25:27):
It's it's really cool. Yeah.
And it's a, you know, it's a, it's a great moment when they're
they're they're rushing into theOnyx sender and the ship is
taking too long to start up. And they try to, you know, jump
start the engines but end up overheating them.
And it's completely impervious to gunfire.
The turbolasers aren't doing anything.
And then and, you know, I thought, OK, they're going to,

(25:50):
it's going to almost capture them and they're going to fly
away and everything's going to be fine.
And then it starts to like grab onto the Onyxinder.
I'm like, OK, And then it startsto consume the ship and like,
things are breaking and falling apart and crumbling like a
crunching. And like, I was kind of reminded

(26:11):
me of almost sad, like, like when the the Razor Crest gets
destroyed. Steven, you, your thoughts?
No, I, I just, the visuals for this section were phenomenal.
Like I said, like you, you're watching the the hole get
really, really crunched up throughout and it's like I said,
yeah, it's heartbreaking. As if you you don't know how

(26:35):
it's going to go, how they're going to get out.
Yeah, 'cause the whole thing looked like there was no way
they were going to get themselves out of this because
they were pulling away as much as possible.
But because those little teeth were coming in and grabbing it
and pulling it in, yeah, it set up a really good, a really good
way for them to escape. Yeah, Yep, yeah, it's it's

(26:57):
really cool because then they, you know, it looks like all hope
is lost and they remember the emergency hole demolition
sequence, the button SN 33 told them never to press and Fern.
Normally the rule follows. Oh.
Is that I do appreciate emergency hole demolition
definitely does sounds like a self destruct and not yes it

(27:18):
does anything else. Where it demolishes purely the
hole, yeah. Yeah, I, I, I agree with you
Steven, because when you hear something like that, it does
sound like a self destruct. So as our resident ship expert,
Steven, I would love to get yourtake on this whole sequence.
I mean, it's phenomenal. Like, you know, they they hit

(27:39):
the button, it ejects. It's hard to tell if it ejects
the full the just like an outer plating or outer layer of the
hole or if it's actually like, Idon't know, a second ship
within. But the ship, I don't even know
how to describe it. Like it separates, it pulls an
Enterprise. That's not quite right, but you

(27:59):
know. You're almost right.
Almost and like it's. The the episode got I hope you.
Learn more about this but like they have a smaller sleeker like
it looks phenomenal ship that they are able to escape out of
which I is. Was that the real on extender
all along or is it an escape pod?

(28:20):
I don't know, got all the engines so maybe.
No, it only had it didn't have the front engines because
remember the Onyx Cinder had theback engine but true to pivot
plus there were the two pivot upfront.
It's the same as an and or like you give me a cool looking ship
that has unique features and I'm100% sold, which may be why I
like the episode as much as I did, but it was just phenomenal,

(28:41):
Yeah. Yeah, the episode guy.
Sorry, the audio descriptions for the episode had a really
interesting analogy. They, they, they said it was
almost like a, a snake shedding its skin.
And I was like, yeah, that's exactly kind of what it looked
like. And I'm so curious what it's
used for. Is it like for escaping tractor
beams? Or is it 'cause it destroys the

(29:02):
entire outside of the ship and it looks like the ship is
significantly smaller. Like does it, do you lose parts
of the the like are, are cabins within the ship loss like
segments of the ship loss or is it just the outside?
I I don't know because it looks much smaller and almost newer
within. It definitely it at least has
still some of the gun ports, right?

(29:24):
Because, you know, obviously William is N1.
Yeah. But yeah, I I'm also curious
that we'll see more of the inside of the ship and see how
it, you know, I don't. Know how it works, You know,
that's different. Yeah, that is an interesting
thing because part of me kind ofreasoned it away to where you
are talking. A pirate ship and maybe the

(29:46):
original Onyx Ender is what we saw escape and everything around
it, let's say, was the plundering of treasures from
ships that they ended up pillaging during the centuries
or however long the Onyx Ender was around under the original
captain. So maybe the outer part of the
hull was his bounty from the other ships he captured.

(30:11):
And then when you hit that button because of a way to make
it an escape. Odd.
It discards all that and gets back to the original Onyx
Cinder. Yeah.
Yeah, I I definitely could see it as you described, William,
like it's a pirate truck to get out of a tractor beam or, you
know, otherwise distract or, youknow, make an escape, whatever,

(30:34):
however you want to describe it.But.
Yeah, I'm so curious. I hope we learn more.
The other thing I I don't reallyknow much about is like when at
the very beginning of the, the, the second episode of the, of
the series, you know, we start to explore, I guess the end of
the first, mostly the second episode, we explore the Onyx

(30:54):
Cinder and it, it feels like a massive ship.
It's kind of hard to tell the true scale of the ship, but I
got the sense that we hadn't actually seen the entire thing.
You know, like even a ship like the Millennium Falcon, it's
fairly large, but it's, I feel like you, you, you see most of
it pretty quickly. The Onyx sender always felt like
it was maybe we'd maybe explored10/20/30 percent of the ship,

(31:17):
maybe if that. And it's even after it sheds,
it's hard to know how much of that is left right.
And is it, is it still kind of its own?
I feel like it was more of a character early on.
It's kind of become less of a character or they haven't really
explored it. They just kind of use it to get
from point A to point B. So I hope we learn a little bit
more about the ship and maybe there's more to uncover.

(31:39):
I don't know but. Yeah, yeah.
It's it's it's such a cool ship.It really is.
Yeah. Honestly, this, I think the
sequence probably bumped it up for me as well.
Yeah, like I, it was fine before.
I thought this made it, you know, exceptional.
Well, how exceptional would you say it is, Steven, if you had

(31:59):
to? I don't know.
I mean, are we? Talking about going to ratings.
Or are we talking about the episode?
Because those are very, those could be very different ratings,
you know? You could do both.
Well, you can always do 2. You can always do 2.
It's our show. I mean, I'll give the ship a
solid like, I don't know, 9 out of 10 at this point.
Does that seem seem reasonable? I think that's fair.

(32:23):
Actually, here this may be controversial.
I'd rank it above the Razor Crest.
Whoa, OK, tell tell me more. I mean, I like the Razor Crest
refined ship. I just, I think this is a more
interesting ship. I like the design of it better.
I don't know. It's fair.
Yeah. Interesting.
So I don't think I have AI, don't have facts to back up that

(32:46):
take, just a meh. OK, so.
What would you give the episode? This episode as a whole, I I
this may I this feels a little bit high.
I think I wanna give it a nine. Honestly, I really enjoyed the
episode. I enjoyed the character
development we got out of all the kids.

(33:07):
This stuff with Jod I found a little bit less entertaining.
Like it was good, but it was very much a like, why, why are
you listening to him? But also, I guess you're gonna
space him anyway, depending on how this goes.
So it's not really that big of adeal like, you know, that kind
of like back and forth, but I don't know.
I enjoyed it. It was a great episode, probably
one of my favorites of this the show thus far.

(33:29):
High praise. And I mean with my womp rats.
They are obviously the secret pilots of the inner Onyxinder, a
ship within. I love it.
I love those womp rats secretly piloting.
It does Tom now. That this Onyxinder 2 actually
has an another one inside of it that is even smaller.

(33:52):
It just it keeps going. Love it.
Yeah. Tom, what would you give the
episode? Well, I'm going to give the
episode an 8.5. I'm, you know, Steven, I'm going
to change it. I am going to give it a nine.
I really did enjoy the episode and it's not because the
influence of talking to you about the episode and I, I, it's

(34:12):
a good episode. I thought character development
for KB was very well done. Still leaves the question of
what was the accident and and hopefully that'll be resolved.
I did appreciate Job coming out of the manhole all with the
treasure. I find it confusing why they

(34:33):
didn't go look in the pirates golook inside.
I can forgive the pirates not being acided from the last
episode and all those pirates still there but just the episode
in and of itself I really enjoyed it.
I did feel like, as I mentioned at the start of this, it started
out like a Dave Filoni esque episode where there is a
breather but you could tell it built toward the end.

(34:54):
That really made it move toward the end to move the story
forward. So great episode.
I'm giving it a nine womp rat and my 9 womp rats.
They were the guys that actuallysat here and made those tunnels
the kids fell down in and they did realize that if you look at

(35:14):
the tunnels, one of them had a grate on them.
I believe it was the higher one.The womp rats made sure that the
kids went down the greats. That wouldn't hurt them because
if they went down that one with the great, you don't know what
could have happened though. That's my 9 womp rats.
William, you're up. Yeah, I guess I'll I'll bring it
home. I again, I agree with you guys.

(35:36):
This was a really fun episode. Like it doesn't, you know, move
things along in a big way, but Ilove the little character
moments and, you know, even if things didn't necessarily make
sense 100% of the time, I'm willing to to roll with it.
It's a, you know, it's a kids show.
It's beautifully shot, really well acted.
I think this shows the kids werea phenomenal choice for their

(35:58):
parts. You know, they they just are
really, they're they're really great actors and they bring a
lot of heart to the show. And I appreciate, I appreciate
that. So, you know, overall I, I
thought it was really good. I'm excited to see what they do
next and and how they, they bring it home.
But for now, I think I'm going to give it 8 womp rats out of

(36:21):
10. Still really, really good.
And my 8 womp rats they are, they're taking care of SM 33
and, and making sure, you know, he's, he's not completely dead
or whatnot. You know, make sure snowball's
OK. So yeah, that's that's I think
what is I'll give the episode 8 womp rats out of 10.

(36:48):
And with that, I think that about wraps things up.
We are just two episodes away from the end of the season.
Hard to believe how quickly it'sgone.
I'm excited to see how they wrapthings up, how they arrive on
Adatin next week, 'cause they have to arrive on Adam next

(37:09):
week, right? Come on.
I think they have to at. At this point, yes for sure.
It's, it's, it's got to, it's got to happen.
It's got to happen. The race is going to be who gets
there first. Exactly.
So yeah, I am excited to see what happens next.
And, you know, we'll, we'll be back.
We'll we'll be here to review itwith you all.
Break it down. Let us know what you think of

(37:31):
the episode. Right.
We want to hear from you, as always, but until next week, I'm
William, Tom and Steven, and maythe Force be with you.
