Hello and welcome to Iron Sheep Ministries. Our goal, in everything we do, is to Equip, Build and Strengthen the body of Christ (Based on Eph 4:12). That said, despite our best efforts, we acknowledge that we are all weak, helpless, lost sheep in daily need of our shepherd, Jesus Christ (Isa 53:6). Together we are seeking to learn more about God day by day and to be changed by Him from the inside out. Join founder Dave Bigler in his weekly, through the Bible teachings, or simply partake in one of our topical interviews or testimonies.

Leviticus 18 continues the “holiness code,” talking about sexual immorality. The holiness code is a series of chapters in Leviticus (chapters 17-26) that call the Israelites to be holy and set apart for the Lord. In verse 3, God calls the Israelites not to be like the Egyptians (where they had been) and not to be like the people in the land they are going to (the Canaanites). The Israelites are not to engage in unlawful sexual rel...
In this teaching, Dave Bigler quest teaches at Adirondack Christian Fellowship. He goes through Matthew 8.23-27 talking about Jesus calming the storm on the Sea of Galilee. Dave talks about the historical context of the Sea of Galilee and how quickly storms can rage on that water. We see Jesus, not worried at all, quickly calm the story and ask the disciples why they doubted. We see this applicable in our lives today as we face ...
In this Bible Study, we unpack Leviticus chapter 17 in which we do a deep dive into Blood, from both a physical side as well as the spiritual side (as the instrument of atonement for our sins). In Leviticus 17.11 we get the entire point of the Gospel message, “the life is in the blood… I have given it to you to make atonement…”Outline:00:19 - Steel Wool Men’s retreat. In this Bible Study we walk through all of Leviticus 16 in which we study the Day of Atonement, also known as Yom Kippur (יום כיפור). The Day of Atonement was (and still is) the most holy day for all of Israel, although it was celebrated differently in Moses’ day from how it is today. We will talk about the foundation of this Holy Day, as well as what a scapegoat is (and who/what is Azazel).

In Matthew 8:1-4 we see a man who had leprosy approach Jesus and ask to be cleansed. Jesus heals the man and instructs him not only not to tell anyone what he did but also to go to the priests and give the offerings commanded by Moses. In this Bible study we will unpack the context of what this meant for the leper in that day. We will look at Leprosy (Hansen's disease) as it was in the days of Moses, the days of Jesus and for ...
Life can be very stressful; there are many things we face that can cause anxiety. The Apostle Paul calls us not to be anxious about anything, but rather, to submit it to God and let his peace guard our hearts and our minds. In this study, we break down Philippians 4.4-7 looking at Paul’s words of encouragement in times of trouble.
Outline:
01:05 - Background on Philippians
04:10 - Philippians 4.4. “Rejoice in the Lord always. I wi...
In this Bible Study, we cover Leviticus chapter 15, which talks all about bodily discharges; both regularly occurring discharges as well as irregular ones. We will look at these in the context of being “clean” as it relates to the Israelites' ability to worship in the Tabernacle. We will also look at modern applications as we look at our filthy rags and our need to be cleansed.
Outline:
01:39 - Introduction
02:14 - What does clea...
Leprosy is a picture (a metaphor for sin). We see in Leviticus 13-14 a description of leprosy (defiling skin diseases) that paints a picture of what sin is like and what has been done for us as a result of it.We see in Leviticus 13 that Sin Spreads (Lev 13.5-8), and that Sin Defiles & Isolates us (Lev 13.44-46). Sin desensatises us, it deadens our nerves (just like leprosy does). We see in Leviticus 14 the process that the sick...
There is great symbolism in the Old Testament. In Leviticus 14.3-7 we see a cleansing ceremony to a person healed of leprosy (or a defiling skin disease). In that ceremony, there are two birds, a clay pot with fresh water as well as cedar wood, scarlet yarn and hyssop. One can quickly read over these elements and their potential symbolism, pointing to the gospel narrative. Dave breaks down each of these elements and their potential...
In this Bible Study, we look at Leviticus chapter 14 as we continue our “clean and unclean” segment of Leviticus. In chapter 13, we saw the ways that a person would be labeled “unclean” - due to a defiling skin disease. In Chapter 14, we see how a person can be declared “clean” after having a defiling skin disease.
Outline:
00:15 - Outline of Leviticus 13 & 14 and recap.
03:00 - What did it mean to be considered “unclean?” Was...
In this Bible study, we look at Leviticus chapter 13 and the process that the priest would go through to diagnose defiling skin diseases (or “Leprosy” as labeled in some Bible translations). We look at Leprosy (known today as Hansen’s disease) and walk through each of the “defiling skin diseases” outlined in the chapter. We also talk about why a person with Leprosy had to call out “unclean-unclean” as they walked down the street.

We are continuing our way through the clean and unclean segment of Leviticus (chapters 11-15). In this Bible study we look at the purification rites associated with giving birth to a child. Dave talks again about what it means to be “clean” and “unclean.” Dave does spend a good deal of time talking about circumcision, as it is solidified in the law as a requirement of all Jewish boys on the 8th day. What does Paul mean when he spea...
We start a new segment of Leviticus, looking at what is “clean” and “unclean” for the Israelites. We must remember that “unclean” is not necessarily bad, it just means that it is not holy or fit for use in worship of God in the tabernacle. Being “clean” or “unclean” was a designation related to someone’s ability to participate in the worship at the tabernacle. If you were “unclean,” you had to go through the cleansing process to be...
