Tiêu chí 2: HÌNH DÁNG
Hình dáng quyết định rất lớn đến hình khối, hình khối đẹp là viên đá có hình khối cân đối, đầy đặn đủ đáy, đủ mặt đúng tỉ lệ. Đúng tiêu chuẩn của từng kiểu cắt mài. Hình khối méo lệch, vẹo mỏng và thiếu đáy được coi là hình khối xấu không đạt tiêu chuẩn.
Tiêu chí 3: CHẤT LƯỢNG
Với đá cắt giác Facet thì đạt độ lành sạch, độ tinh khiết cao, bề mặt đạt độ bóng độ chiếu tốt. Với đá mài trơn Cabachon thì chất lượng có độ trong Ngọc có chân lửa, có độ sáng, độ lành cao, liên kết tốt ko rạn vỡ thô. Chịu được va chạm độ bền vĩnh Cửu.
