In our series "Who Is Jesus?: The Distraction Dilemma", we look at the moment Jesus visits Mary and Martha. Martha is overwhelmed with busyness, while Mary sits at Jesus’ feet, simply listening. Jesus gently corrects Martha, not because serving is wrong, but because she let it take priority over being with Him. Distraction isn’t just about activity, it’s about what captures our hearts. We often get so caught up in responsibilities, even good ones, that we miss what we need most: intimacy with Jesus. True peace doesn’t come from finishing our to-do lists, it comes from resting in His presence. Jesus reminds us that before we serve, we must sit. Before we work, we must worship. He invites us into a life where time with Him fuels everything else we do.
