Today's episode features Laura Westman, an executive/leadership coach with a different take on building connections, who also considers play and fantasy as pillars for true creative leadership. And that leadership style supports team, passion, and cohesion in a workforce. OK, OK, are you asking yourself, "What does that mean?"

Laura Westman brings her unique approach to coaching today's creative business leaders. Whether they're leading in a boardroom, mentoring and leading a staff, or running their own business, Laura believes that stepping back and opening your creative heart to the challenge in front of you provides a new perspective, one that is rooted in our hearts, and our inner child.

What does that do? It brings about a way to lead that expands beyond the expected, to results you couldn't have imagined... without that inner child helping you.

Ever look at the challenge ahead of you and think the hobbits' journey to Mordor was easier? Or perhaps if you had just a drop of Felix Felicis for an employee struggling with a problem, they'd succeed? But like the hero in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, you know it isn't needed, it's belief in oneself that gets those challenges solved. Yes, this is the type of magic and imagination Laura uses to inspire her clients. After all, she built her own business plans and direction using a map of Disneyworld, and it works!

Laura is also a singer/songwriter who overcame a diagnosis of Hashimoto's Disease. Initially devastating, she found that seeing her sensitivities from the disease as something to honor and care for, brought her singing back, and helped her to grow while honoring her unique reality.

Our conversation explores personal stories, funny stories, dreams, all in the spirit of finding your true self, that deep blue jewel of spirit hidden inside each of us.

I hope you find inspiration and are given pause to think about what is truly valued by you. What are the things that make your inner creative child sing, dance, and look at the world filled with hope and happiness?
