Today's meanderings is related to a question I got on a podcast where I was a guest and was asked about my podcast. It spurred my thinking towards the whole idea of creativity and the arts having nothing to do with science, technology, etc. I have friends who say, "oh, I'm not into that fluffy stuff. I'm more a numbers person, or I like technology better." Or as my cousin Joann used to say, "none of that artsy fartsy stuff for me!" But in my opinion, the arts IS science, technology. engineering, and math... Things that are supported in our school systems via the STEM programs. At a number of schools that's also known as STEAM (with the A in there for the arts), but we're hearing daily about schools cutting the arts to balance budgets and provide "real" education. Sadly, for many students, the STEM portion of school doesn't connect, EXCEPT through ART.

As you'll hear, I see science and technology in a lot of the creativity I'm involved with. And after listening, I think you may have a more expanded view of what it takes to be creative, and where creativity meets math, science, engineering, and technology. I hope you enjoy today's episode. I've included links to the various companies and facts I've talked about. I encourage you to check them out and maybe start a little science experiment, creatively speaking, of your own!
