You are now tuned in

podcast.
I'm your host, hazel Brown.
Welcome to the podcast.
This is a podcast where we'regoing to explore the heart of
personal growth, self-worth andliving a true life that's
(01:33):
aligned with your purpose.
If you've been looking for asign to step into the next
version of yourself, this is it.
This is the sign.
Now let's go ahead and diveinto the episode.
I want to start by asking youone question when was the last
time you felt afraid?
I'm not talking about likespiders, because Lord knows I've
seen my share of just bigspiders.
(01:55):
Listen, I'm not talking aboutbeing scared in a scary movie.
I mean that fear that creeps upon you when you're thinking
about doing something new, betting on yourself, getting to
the next level, applying forthat dream job, starting your
own business, making a big life.
(02:17):
Change that fear.
That's a sign that you're onthe edge of growth.
That's a sign that you'reheaded in the right direction.
That's a sign that you'reheaded in the right direction.
That is a sign that you aregoing to be stretched, and I
just really want to talk aboutit because, listen, fear is not
your enemy.
It's really proof that you'repushing your boundaries, out of
(02:39):
your comfort zone and guess what?
Everything you want.
You hear it all the time.
It's on the other side of fear.
So I want to unpack thattogether.
What I've learned is our brainreally is wired to keep us safe,
but safety really doesn't allowus to transform.
(03:00):
It really doesn't help usbecome the highest version of
ourselves.
It's so important that weunderstand that getting to the
next level or the highestversion of ourselves truly is
not a destination.
I saw something recently thatI'm going to paraphrase.
That spoke about how becomingyour highest self is every time
(03:24):
you make a decision that isaligned with the highest version
of yourself.
So every time you choose you, every time that you honor
self-respect, every time you goafter the thing, regardless if
you're fearful, that is honoringyour highest self, and I just
wanted to make sure that Ishared that with you because it
(03:47):
really resonated and it wasreally necessary when I saw it,
and I don't wanna keep the gemsto myself.
I wanna share them with you too,but just know that safety is
not where transformation happens, and I want you to take a
moment to really think about atime where fear was in your
thoughts and you weresafeguarding your next step,
(04:09):
like a guard at a gate.
Essentially, that treasure isyour potential, your dreams,
your next level, and you owe itto yourself to open that gate.
You open that gate and see whathappens.
You walk down the path eventhough there's unknown, even
(04:29):
though it's possible it mightnot work out, even though it's
not easy, because you're gonnalearn something in the process.
I know it feels uncomfortable.
Believe me, I've been there.
I'm probably there right now.
I'm actually in a stretchingseason as I record this episode.
(04:52):
When I started, this podcast, Iliterally doubted whether or not
it was something I should do.
What if no one listens?
What if I fail?
What if I'm like the statisticswhere they say that after five
episodes most people stop allthe things?
But I decided to feel the fearand take a leap anyways.
(05:15):
And here we are, 70 plusepisodes later well over my
initial goals in terms ofdownloads.
Don't get me wrong.
My long-term goals are probably100,000 downloads per episode
per week and all the things.
But we're going to get there.
The thing is, your dreams don'twait for that perfect moment.
(05:38):
They wait for you to decide togo after the goal.
They wait for you to take theaction.
They wait for you to bet onyourself and believe in yourself
, to take the action.
They wait for you to bet onyourself and believe in yourself
.
And here's what I want you todo Take one small step, one
scary step, like today, as soonas you're done listening to the
(06:05):
episode Maybe it's emailingsomeone about something you
wanted to ask and see if itworks out in your favor.
Booking a class to learnsomething new, saying yes to
yourself for once and notputting everyone else before you
.
Applying for that job, startingthat business, writing that
business plan, writing realgoals for yourself, to where
you're not capping yourpotential in terms of creating
(06:28):
your glass ceiling for yourself.
And then, within that, I wantyou to remember that every step
is going to build that momentum, those small wins.
They add up to massive change.
I share that and I'm going toshare a little bit more open in
how I share, because even inmoving to another state, I knew
(06:52):
there was a calling over my lifeto move here.
I knew this was where I neededto be.
In the process I have not lovedthe move, let's talk about that.
I have not loved it.
I've had moments where I'vewanted to move back.
I've had moments where I'm likeGod, moments where I've wanted
to move back.
I've had moments where I'm likeGod, why me?
What are you doing?
I was fine where I was.
I continue to have thosemoments because I'm human, right
(07:14):
, and so you're human.
So you're going to have momentsthat, even when you make
decisions that you know arealigned to your higher self and
what it is that you're trying todo, you're going to question if
you're on the right path, notnecessarily because of fear, but
because it doesn't feelcomfortable, it doesn't feel
good.
It doesn't feel safe.
It's not what comes with ease.
(07:37):
Your stretch won't always comewith ease.
Your stretch will come with theripple effect.
It's going to come with thefact that in that stretch you
have a learning curve.
You have to get to know thethings, the people, the how, the
why, all the things right.
You have to be able to fullyunderstand your next level and
(08:01):
since you're just getting toyour next level, you won't know
all the things.
So there is definitely a levelof uncertainty that comes within
that space and trying to figureout what, within the next
process of your journey, you aregoing to accomplish, who you're
going to become, what's goingto really happen in terms of the
(08:22):
realms and experiences thatwill occur in this new level.
But you have to trust theprocess.
You have to let it unfold infront of you by taking one small
step and understanding thatthose small steps really do add
up.
Let me tell you a quick storyabout someone who inspires me,
(08:44):
my mom.
Even though she's not hereanymore, and if you listen to
episode two from the podcast, you already know that when she
came to the US from Jamaica, shehad nothing but determination
and faith.
She could have let fear of theunknown stop her, but instead
she pushed through.
She built a life for her kids.
She showed us the power ofresilience and I know you have
(09:07):
people like that in your familythat, in spite of her kids, she
showed us the power ofresilience, and I know you have
people like that in your familythat, in spite of their
circumstances, they stillcontinue to bet on themselves.
Though they were single moms, single fathers, didn't have all
of the silver spoons and all thehandouts that they would have
loved to actually have, theystill persevered and made it
through.
And that courage teaches youthat fear is temporary but
(09:31):
regret lasts forever.
How many people do you knowthat you hear them say they wish
they would have?
Don't be a starter, be afinisher.
I want you to know that you canstart betting on yourself any
day of the week, but if you foldbecause the going gets rough,
you won't get to see how greatit could get.
You won't get to see how strongyou are.
(09:53):
You won't get to see what's onthe other side of that potential
.
So let's not just unlock thepotential, but let's keep going.
I don't want you to look backat your life wondering what if I
would have tried.
I want you to try and see whathappens, because you tried what
happens, what you learn and whoyou become as a result of you
(10:17):
having that self-respect tohonor your highest self and
choose you every single time.
So we can go back.
What's one thing you can dotoday, even if you're scared?
I want you to write it down, make it real and bingo, take
action.
(10:38):
I want you to take action.
I want you to figure out whatyour real goals are.
I'm going to circle back tothat.
Recently, I decided to writedown my goals, make them clear
and make them big and then, fromthat, take action.
For me, I've always said Iwanted to make a lot of impact
on the lives of others.
(10:58):
Guess what.
I'm doing that with the podcast, with my events, with what I do
in my nine to five, with theway that I show up in the world,
just being my authentic self.
I am doing that.
But now I realize that I'mplaying small.
I want to make millions.
I want to be able to live thelife that I'm deserving of.
(11:19):
But let's be real.
Many of us have been brainwashedand programmed into thinking
that wanting more money comesacross as being greedy or being
materialistic or just reallybeing vain, and everyone won't
agree with me, but I'm justgonna let you know where I am in
my life.
I'm a yes for abundance.
(11:42):
I'm a yes for showing up formyself and living a life where I
feel that I am free to dowhatever it is I want to do,
help whoever it is that I wantto help in, however God calls me
to do it, and within that, Ihave to make decisions about how
I take action and how clear Iget in the work that I do in
(12:02):
order to be able to actualizethose goals, not just by taking
action, but simply stating whatit is you truly want.
So I'll share 3.0.
Hazel no longer just wants tomake impact.
She wants to make impact andshe wants to create generational
wealth for herself, for herchildren, for her children's,
(12:25):
children's children, and make animpact on many lives all across
the world.
That is what I currently wantand that can change two, three
years from now, but I share thatto say openly that now I have
to take action and do the workfor the things it is that I need
(12:45):
to do in order to actualizethat reality for myself.
I really try to share as openlyas possible, because I want you
to know that when you ask andtake action, create a plan, get
out your way and do the work, you can live the life that
you're deserving of living.
(13:06):
But sometimes we don't ask forenough, sometimes we don't
really ask for exactly what wewant, because we still tend to
dim our light, even when wethink we're not dimming our
light.
I thought I just wanted to makeimpact Child, I do and I have
(13:26):
people in terms of sharing whatan impact I've made on their
lives and things that they'vebeen able to do this year alone,
last year, and how beautifultheir lives have turned around
because they put themselvesfirst.
Now they understand they'redeserving and they're able to
see the fruits of making surethat they take action and bet on
(13:47):
themselves and believe inthemselves.
I am so thankful for everylistener.
I am so thankful for everyonewhose lives I've touched.
Definitely, be sure to sharethe podcast with all your

it stop them, and neither shouldyou.
