between dreams and I just wantto remind you that your current

Listen, and I like that movieit's just really been playing on
repeat in my spirit lately thatsometimes the hardest place to
(01:35):
be is actually not rock bottom,it's not the mountaintop.
They all come with their owndisturbances, their own lessons,
their own feels right.
But if that space in between, where the dream is close enough
to see but it feels just farenough away, you're questioning
everything.
(01:56):
Guys, tell me I'm not alone, right, you're questioning your
whole life, but you know thatwhat God has prepared for you is
so close.
It is so close.
This episode is for you.
If you're sitting in betweenthat in-between space, like guys
, know that this one's going toget deep.
It's going to get deep, deep, right.
(02:17):
If it's your first time tuninginto the podcast, I want to make
sure you scroll up to the topand hit that follow button.
You share the podcast with thepeople that you know need to
hear this message.
You realize that you are notalone on the journey.
And, guys, yes, we're in thevideo era, but let me tell you,
every time God gives me adownload, something strong in my
(02:39):
spirit, I'm going to pause thetypical cadence and setup that I
already have set up for you andmake sure we are growing
together.
You're getting the information,as he puts it in my spirit, to
share.
The reality is I've experiencedthis so many times within my
journey my journey for personaldevelopment, my journey in my
(02:59):
career, my journey in mybusiness, my journey as a mom,
my journey with my husband, myjourney through relationships
and friendships.
We all go through so manydifferent lessons while we're
growing.
The reality is a temptation topause, to sleep the dream away,
feel safer than trying.
That is a normal thoughtprocess.
(03:20):
But you have to decide, youhave to choose.
You have to know that you can'tgo to sleep on your dream just
because it feels quiet right now.
You can't go to sleep on yourdream because you know it's
going to be a lot of work.
You just got to understand thatsometimes the vision that you
see doesn't match the lifeyou're living, and it doesn't
(03:42):
mean you're faking it till youmake it.
It just means you have to workthe dream.
Something that rings true forme, that I had to recognize is
that sometimes the valley is theassignment when you are right
now, at the peak, at the dip orsomewhere in between.
That is the assignment.
Where are you?
(04:03):
Write it down.
Feel the feels, know that.
You Write it down, feel thefeels, know that it's okay and
you're going to be okay.
I know, for me, the valley guys, the valley has been interesting
in so many ways.
I've learned who shows up forme in the valley.
Some people that I thought wasgoing to be there for me in the
(04:26):
valley they were nowhere to befound.
People that I didn't expect tobe there in the valley were
right there cheering me on, notbecause they even knew I was in
the valley, just because theycared about me.
No matter what, the valley ismeant to teach you so many
things, and I don't think wetalk a lot about that.
I think for me, I was justreally reflecting on just a
dream, to dream right.
(04:48):
I realized that many people inthe dream of the vision that God
gives them let's be clear aboutwhat the dream is their purpose
.
They see the light, they seethe thing and then they see
other people and they think man,how do people just push through
despite the problems, thethings that are happening around
(05:10):
the world, the things that arehappening in their life?
And I've recognized that itreally has a lot to do with
rethinking fake it till you makeit.
I used to hate that saying.
To me it felt like pretending, performing being something I
wasn't, and what I had torealize that what it really
means is, I guess, a layeredperspective.
(05:33):
Right, it means like embodimentover pretending, sometimes
stepping into what you'rebecoming before the world sees
it is fake.
It's not faking it, it's, yousee, what God has shown you, but
you're not there yet becauseyou see it right.
But you actually have to buildup the muscle and the courage to
(05:55):
make it your reality.
See, you could be going on aroad trip.
You bought the hotel, you'veseen it online, but you're not
there yet.
You still got to get in theplane.
You still got to pack your bag.
You still need money for thistrip.
You may be taking a road trip,it may take you hours to get
there, but guess what?
(06:15):
Initially it was a vision thatyou had to put in the muscle to
get there.
What if you were like I'mafraid of heights, I don't want
to go alone, I don't want todrive.
My tire might got flat on theway, I ran out of gas, somebody
called me complaining aboutsomething, somebody died on the
way, but I still got to makesure I enjoy my trip.
(06:36):
It's no different.
Why can we put in the work andmuster up the courage to enjoy a
vacation, but we can't musterup the muscle and the courage to
enjoy our life, to make thedream actually become a reality?
It's not fake, it's faith untilyou can actually see it.
(06:56):
It's faith it till you make it.
Faking it isn't lying aboutwhere you are.
It's aligning with who you'rebecoming and trusting God to
catch you on the way.
You can't wait till you'reready.
You can't wait till you feelready.
You have got to shift and knowthat you deserve to live the
(07:16):
dream and you have to trust whatGod put in your spirit.
Guys, I got to go a littledeeper because I feel like so
many times you have peoplearound you that will talk you
out of what God has for you.
They'll say things to you topush you off, not because they
don't want to see you win, butthey cannot see what God showed
(07:38):
you Like.
In the process of going afterthe goal, going after the job,
going after the friendship, going after the move, going
after the business, going afterwhatever you're going after, you
are going to hear people tellyou to stay where you are
because it's more comfortable.
And guess what?
The part of you that's scaredto put in the work, the scared
(08:01):
to go around the bend where it'sdark, might agree, but you got
to trust God more than you trusttheir opinion.
You got to trust God more thanyou trust fear.
You got to trust that youdeserve to live that life.
Something else that I wasthinking about in my download
from God listen, he be talkingto me and I'm like let's go,
let's share it with the people.
(08:23):
Something else that I reallywant to talk to you about is
pouring versus protecting.
I feel like this is soimportant because, let's be real
, there's so much trends andtalk about.
You know, don't pour from anempty cup, but the truth is it's
more complicated than that.
It's way more complicated thanthat.
(08:43):
The reality is, sometimes, whenyou're giving from not enough,
it deepens your well.
It gives you more supply thenext time you replenish.
It helps you stretch your faith.
It helps you to understand whatyou're capable of.
I know for me.
Earlier this year I was in aspace of just pure depletion,
(09:07):
but I still poured into thelives of others.
I still showed up and made surethat the support that I needed
to provide in the people and thethings that I was putting in my
life, they still got what theyneeded.
Where there are other timeswhere I straight ghost
everything I'm doing because I'mnot going to pour from a
(09:29):
negative place, I'm not going topour from a place that doesn't
add value.
So you have to discern foryourself whether you're in a
space that you're little andyou're not enough.
That you have to give is realfilthy.
It needs some like bleach,right.
It needs to be sanitized anddesensitized and all the ties,
(09:53):
right.
We need to disinfect it in thelittle you have left.
But if the little you have leftis clean, is filtered, is pure,
but it's just a littlesometimes, you could give it.
You just have to decide who isworth you giving it to.
You have to decide where you'reat in a space of growth.
(10:13):
It's that knowing when you'reserving versus when you're
self-sabotaging, when you'rehurting yourself because these
people wouldn't pour from a fullcup, no matter what's in that
cup, and I think that's where wemessed up.
Sometimes we pour from a placefor people that wouldn't do it
for us, and sometimes it's okayto do it.
(10:34):
If God gave you that test andhe told you the thing, then it
really doesn't matter whether ornot they receive.
All that matters is that yousurrender.
In my personal journey, I justknow when it felt impossible.
The things you discover aboutyourself and God is just amazing
(10:54):
, and sometimes pouring from anempty cup reminds you that God
is your source.
You're not your source.
It's really just a rollercoaster of becoming.
We celebrate the highs, but thelows, where we're being
stretched, refined and madeready.
Yeah, those viral moments arenot on social media, right?
You just see, they took a breakand now they're back.
(11:16):
What you was doing on yourbreak, though?
Was it a vacation?
Was it a sabbatical?
What was it Like?
What did you do?
Because the reality is thebreaks, too child.
Sometimes they're at theirbreaking point, but they're not
sharing it, and I feel like it'sokay.
Sometimes, when you're in yourseason, it's okay to isolate, it
(11:36):
is okay to just be one withself and God, but you got to
know that everybody that you seeout here is going through
things from time to time, sometimes on a daily, depending
on the season they're in.
But you have to know that thedream, that purpose, what God is
(11:56):
sharing for you to do, to beall the things is needed, is
necessary, and I want to makesure that you show up for you.
Sometimes God slows you down toteach you, to teach you who you
can trust, to teach you whatyou're made of.
And the process is needed forthe preparation.
The valley isn't punishment, itis truly preparation.
(12:19):
Becoming feels, lonely becausenot everybody is invited to the
next chapter.
You lose so many people in thevalley because not everybody
wants invited to the nextchapter.
You lose so many people in thevalley because not everybody
wants to work in the valley.
Not everybody could handle thevalley.
Heck, we don't even want to bein the valley half the time.
Why can't we just stop rushingGod's process?
I feel like that's where I'm at, with me, like I'm talking to
(12:41):
me and you too, like why can'twe just stop rushing the process
, like what we see afterwards isalways bigger and better?
So we just stop rushing it andknow it's intentional, know it's
going to be so much better.
Like guys, I am so excited aboutmy next chapter.
I am so excited for the workthat I'm going to be doing in my
(13:03):
career.
Like I could feel it, I couldsee it.
I could see it.
I've been intentional.
I've been intentional aboutwhat it is that I'm doing.
I've been so intentionalbecause I want meaningful work,
both in my career, in mybusiness, in everything that I
do, the value in myrelationships, the way that I'm
(13:24):
raising my children, the thingsthat are happening in my life.
Meaningful is the word in thisseason and I want it to all
provide fulfillment.
So sometimes that low, thatstretch on that life
rollercoaster helps you realizewhat's really important and I
(13:45):
hope that you know it's you.
I hope that you know the seasonis teaching you that becoming
is not glamorous, it's sacred.
I don't know where you areright now, whether you're in
your mountain, your valley oryou're in between, but I do want
you to know right now thatyou're exactly where you are
meant to be.
(14:06):
Like.
God is building you, he'sbuilding in you, and I really
want to make sure you're stayingconnected to knowing that
everything is happening for you,not to you, like there's just
so much in faith in it till youmake it, and there's so much in
(14:28):
just real, transparent,reflective conversations, and
that's what we do with workplacetherapy or human AF.
Yes, I haven't started talkingabout that much.
We are redefining what it meansto be human, because the
reality is you are human and wegot to remove these masks and we
got to stop performing andstart understanding that being
(14:52):
who we are truly matters.
Being who we are is what reallytakes us to the next level.
Allowing the process to processis really what's going to make
you stand up strong in your nextchapter.
Child, I'm gonna stop preachingand I just want y'all to know
that in the process, I told youguys, I've been working with
(15:14):
clients doing the things, orwhat have you right?
And so one of my clients Ihelped her with her podcast.
I'm the executive producer andcreative director for her
podcast.
It's called Real, raw and RealEstate.
It's my high school friend andI don't call a lot of people my
friends my high school friend, tanisha Williams and her husband
, daryl Williams.
They started a podcast calledReal, raw and Real Estate.
(15:36):
So I need y'all to go on Apple, spotify, youtube, search Real
Raw, real Estate and follow them.
Listen, it's going to beamazing, genuine person doing
all the things.
Her and her husband really goodpeople.
They actually own the largestminority owned or largest black
owned real estate brokerage inthe state of Florida.
They've expanded to Atlanta andthey're going to continue
(15:57):
expanding, right, and they'regoing to continue taking up
space and all the things, and soI'm so excited for them, just
like I'm so excited for you, like I want to make sure we are
all growing together.
And so, if this episode met youwhere you are, share it with
someone who's living in betweendreams too, because we are going
