What if your Bible stopped feeling like homework and started sounding like God’s voice? In this conversation with Kim and Amber, we walk through a transformative shift: reading Scripture not just for information, but for encounter. Kim shares the turning point—a simple Saturday class—that taught her to ask better questions, slow down to a passage, and respond to what God was saying. That practice didn’t just change her quiet time; it rebuilt her prayer life, renewed her mind, and opened doors to obedience she never anticipated.

We explore practical, repeatable rhythms anyone can try today: silencing distractions, choosing a paper Bible for depth, journaling with purpose, reading the Word aloud, and using brief, focused time to create real traction. For those who feel overwhelmed, Kim offers a clear starting point in the Gospel of John and a short, honest prayer for understanding. The result is intimacy with Jesus that grows month by month, and a confidence in praying Scripture that aligns your heart with God’s will.

Along the way, we talk about healing from chronic worry through steady time in the Word, the courage it takes to obey when God calls you to transition, and the power of community that sharpens and multiplies. Kim’s Abide classes, a growing prayer movement, and plans for a revival conference all trace back to daily engagement with a living, active Word that still speaks. If you’re hungry for depth, wanting to love prayer again, or ready to say yes to the next faithful step, this story will give you tools and hope.

Listen, share with a friend who needs renewed faith, and tell us: what passage will you sit with this week? If the conversation helped you, subscribe, leave a review, and pass it on so more people can learn to abide.

Welcome back to the studio,Amber Samson.
It's good to be here.
My ministry partner, my friend.
Here for part two.

(00:48):
You're the host?
Okay.

Amber Sampson (00:50):
We're reversing the mic.
Yeah, and so it's been fun tobe on this side of uh of the
microphone.
So um, yes, this is part two ofour host, Kim McIntire's story.
And so um I want to, if you aretuning into part two, but you
haven't listened to part one, stop what you're doing, go back

(01:11):
to part one because um you mightbe kind of lost in Kim's story
into you just need to heareverything that she has shared
to this point.
So um up until this point, Kimhas shared about her childhood
and how she had her daughter umas a teenage um mom out of

(01:31):
wedlock, and and then how herhusband Everett has come into
her life, and then how theirmarriage was transformed by the
work God did in Everett's lifeat a Promise Keepers Conference.
So um so incredible.
So I'm excited to pick it up umfor um at this point and hear
more because Kim and I have beenfriends for a while and I've

(01:52):
heard parts of her story, butI'm getting to hear so much
more, and it's been so good.
And it's so interesting becauseI think it doesn't really
matter, you know.
People see when people see Kim,they see a prayer warrior, they
see somebody who's faithful tothe Lord, they see somebody who
is fervently um, you know, praying and walking with the
Lord and dedicated and all thesewonderful things, and it didn't

(02:17):
happen.
It didn't just happen, itdidn't come without hardship.
And so I think it's easy to seesomebody in ministry or
somebody um, you know, elevatedand on a platform and think,
well, they've just had it easy.
But Kim is a testimony rightnow to say, no, that's not true.
Maybe had a storybookchildhood, but my own personal

(02:38):
decisions led me into somemesses and God rus God rescued
me and um and so but you've seenthe Lord show up in those
times.
So Oh my goodness.
All right, thank you.
So tell us a little bit tell usa little bit more of your
story.
I'm excited to hear some more.
Okay, I will.

Kim McIntire (02:55):
I want to read a scripture um from Psalm
sixty-six, verse sixteen throughtwenty.
Come and listen, all you whofear God, let me tell you what
he has done for me.
I cried out to him with mymouth.
His praise was on my tongue.

(03:15):
If I had cherished sin in myheart, the Lord would not have
listened, but God has surelylistened and heard my voice in
prayer.
Praise be to God, who has notrejected my prayer or withheld
his love from me.
So I don't know, that's justone another scripture that I
consider to be like a life versepassage, or it's really more of

(03:38):
a passage than a verse.
But I want to tell people whatthe Lord has done because he's
done it for me and he can do itfor anyone.
Yeah, that's power oftestimony.
So I'm gonna pick up with umEverett and just that change,
that shift that happened in him,and how that in turn impacted
me.

Amber Sampson (03:58):
Um so for our listeners, kind of at what
point, like are you 25?
Are you 21?
Are you 30?
Kind of where are you at inyour life?

Kim McIntire (04:07):
Would have been close to 30.
Okay.
Yeah, would have been gettingclose to 30, yeah.
Um, late 20s.
Um, so we had been going to achurch, um, the really a family
church.
Um, wonderful people, one of mydearest friends, Jo Beth, who's

(04:29):
one of the by teachers, she Imet her there, and we are still
dear dear friends after 30years.
We're still dear friends.
Um, but Everett just reallysensed that it was time to
transition, and we transitionedto another church, and this
church was very strong inbiblical teaching.

(04:53):
Um I had been I had read theBible really from teenagers
through my 20s as a practice foryou know preparing for Sunday
school because I actuallystarted teaching Sunday school
really young.
Even when I was living alifestyle that didn't match, you
know, I had we were in a smallchurch, they needed Sunday
school teachers, and I waswilling.

(05:15):
So I read the Bible to prepare.
I read the Bible to know in mymind how to teach the story.
I'm just kind of a teacher bynature, so I love to read for
knowledge, and that's how I readthe Bible.
I read it for knowledge.
We're in a service at our newchurch, um, and the the lead
minister says, I'm gonna beleading a class called How to

(05:38):
Read the Bible for PersonalDevotion.
It's gonna be a Saturday class,and I thought, hmm, I should
really take that class.
So Everett and I took the classtogether.
And it was really a marker inmy life because in that class,

(05:59):
Randy Garris taught us to readthe Bible asking ourselves
questions to engage our mind andour heart with God's word.

Amber Sampson (06:12):
Wow.

Kim McIntire (06:13):
And we had taken a notebook and our Bibles and a
pen, and he just walked usthrough some really significant
questions.
Um I left that class, and itwas several hours long, but I
left that class with thisburning in my heart to be in
God's Word, and I can't tell youthe change that happened in my

(06:37):
life as a result of openingGod's word to connect it with my
heart and my mind, not just mymind.
It's it's unbelievable, and ittook time, but over time I just
grew a deeper, deeper, deeperpassion to hear from the Lord.

(06:59):
And I I had never reallythought before, this is God's
voice to me.
That sounds crazy.
But if you're reading the Bibleand you're not clear on that,
the Lord is speaking to you.
It's living, it's breathing.
It's living, it's breathing,it's active, it changes things,
it makes impact.
Um, and that became real to me.

(07:21):
And I just have been on thisjourney ever since.
I was 32 years old when I tookthat class.
It was 2003.
I have been on a journey sincethen of just passionately
pursuing God's word.
And as I have passionatelypursued God's word, I I know now
that I know Jesus because Jesusis the word.

(07:43):
And Jesus is so real to me now.
I don't just know about Jesus,I know him.
And it I believe it's becauseI'm a lover of the word.
I know him in ways I neverthought I could know him.
Just his voice.
I feel like I know God'sthoughts because his thoughts
are in the word.

(08:03):
Um, his heart.
The Bible reveals God's heart.
His plans are in the word, hispromises are in the word.
And so this passion has grownme in intimacy with the Lord.
And it's also grown this desirein me to not just read but to
respond to the Lord.

Amber Sampson (08:24):
Oh wow.
So so I I want to interrupt.
So for our listeners who arewho are feel stagnant in their
relationship with God, soundslike you would say, read the
word with your with an openmind, with like read it as
though God is speaking to youbecause He is.

(08:45):
That's right.
He is.
He's it's not just like yourfavorite novel that you're
reading.
This is a living, breathingword, and this is God is so kind
to give us a book where thattells us all about it.
That's so personal.
Yeah.
And uh one thing my grandmaalways says, my grandma's 80,

(09:07):
you know, in her mid-80s at thispoint, she always says it, even
to this day, you can always getshe's like, I still learn new
things out of the Bible.
She said, I've read the Bibleso many times, but I've I still
get new things.
So just because you've readJohn chapter three 17 times,
there's still more.
It really is.
And still more things to know.

(09:27):
Yeah.
And so, wow.
Um and so I'm gonna put ashameless plug in real fast that
if you're like, oh, oh, I if ifthat's kind of hitting a nerve
with you, it's resonating withyou.
Our podcast, it's Time to RiseUp Podcast, we have several
episodes, our Abide seriesepisodes, that kind of that
teach you how to read the Bible, not just with your mind, but

(09:49):
with your heart and with somepractical steps and questions.
So I would encourage you tocheck out those episodes.
They're really um easy to findum in in the show.
So yeah, go back and listen tothose because I think it'll um
well, I know it'll change yourBible reading because I practice
those steps often too, andyeah, it's just a totally

(10:12):
different way, like you'resaying.

Kim McIntire (10:13):
Yeah, and I'm just gonna say here, just take a
pause and say, you know, stepone is when you open the word,
you're asking the Lord, Lord, what do you want me to know?

Amber Sampson (10:24):
Yeah, because he does.
He wants to show us.

Kim McIntire (10:26):
He wants us to know something.

Amber Sampson (10:28):
Yeah.

Kim McIntire (10:28):
And it's it's for our benefit to know it.

Amber Sampson (10:31):
Yeah.

Kim McIntire (10:32):
Um, so yeah, please check out the Abide
Podcast um series.

Amber Sampson (10:37):
Those simple episodes are good.
Okay.
So your walk with God'schanging and shifting, and the
word of God is fresh and new.

Kim McIntire (10:46):
It's true.
It also, you know, deepened mydesire to pray.
So the more I read the word, because my prayer life actually
wasn't strong in my 30s, but asI, you know, I would say a
decade into this reallyintentional pursuit of God's
word on a daily basis, and it ithas nothing to do with

(11:08):
legalism.
I literally can't wait to openmy Bible every single day.
Like it is the thing I cannotdo without.

Amber Sampson (11:16):
And so taking it from just reading it as a book,
a storybook, yeah.
It's you know, this is what Ihave to do because my preacher
says so.
Everybody I know reads theBible.
This is just what I know as adiscipline I should do.
This changing the way you readthe Bible has just stirred a

(11:38):
love for the word.

Kim McIntire (11:39):
It really has.
And and as I'm reading it, I'mresponding to the Lord and what
he's speaking, even in the OldTestament.
I have a real love for the OldTestament now that I didn't have
before because I finallyrecognized Jesus is in every Old
Testament book.
He was there in Genesis and allthe way through.

(12:02):
So um, I just I I feel likethat responding to him grew
conversation with the Lord thatshifted how I prayed.
So my prayer life before wouldmostly be asking God to do
things, and then it was moreasking God, Lord, like what's on

(12:25):
your heart?
Yeah, what do you want to do inmy heart?
Search me.
Um, and and then listening, because he will respond if you
listen, and that takes time andit takes practice.
Yeah, it's it is it is adiscipline.

Amber Sampson (12:45):
Yeah.

Kim McIntire (12:46):
Um I I intentionally sit quietly and I
give space for that.
My phone is silenced.
I try to not have my phone, andI know a lot of people use
their Bible app, and I thinkthat's fine.
But if you're gettingnotifications on your phone
while you're reading your Bibleapp, I would suggest to you to

(13:07):
change that that rhythm to whereyou can actually have time
that's undistracted because theLord really wants to speak.

Amber Sampson (13:16):
Well, I think there's something too about
being able to open your paperBible in front of you and be
able to highlight something, orum, or maybe sometimes I'll date
certain things and then I cansee, oh yeah, this time last
year I was, you know, this wasgoing on and that, and I can

(13:37):
remember, oh God gave me thatscripture or God gave me that
passage.
Um and so or I can see whereI've highlighted and underlined
and because it's it's areminder.
Yeah, those things have come tomean something to me in that
season and now this season.
And so I think I think there'ssomething uh to that of of

(13:57):
opening up your paper Bible.
Um that there's just and that'sI don't know, there's just it's
just such a personal it becomespersonal, I think.
Like this is, you know, my mythere's something about my
Bible.
Yeah.
I don't it that's differentthan my Bible app.
I use my Bible app too.
Sure.
Um one you're talking aboutsetting your phone, you know,

(14:19):
changing the way you do that.
One thing that helps me um is Iquite uh I have to delete my
Facebook and Instagram apps uhpretty much all uh often.
Yeah.
Because you know, there's justyou it's become such a habit to
just grab your phone and what'shappening on social media and

(14:39):
you don't and then before youknow, you're like, why am I
doing that?
I I want to spend time with theLord, but something about
habits kick in.
And so um I thought I wouldslide that in there in case
somebody is like that's good.
In case that helps somebodyelse, because that's a that's a
tip that helps me.
So that's good.
Um so yeah, and so this is ahabit that's been going on for

(14:59):
twenty, thirty years.
Twenty-two, almost twenty-threeyears.

Kim McIntire (15:02):
And you yeah.

Amber Sampson (15:03):
I I would say even in the time I've known you,
I feel like I've seen you growto love the word of God more.

Kim McIntire (15:10):
I have than it's becoming deeper and you did when
I first met you, even.
Yeah, it's becoming deeper anddeeper, and I think part of that
is you know, the Lord put on myheart um a couple years ago to
reach out to some young womenthat I didn't really know, and
I've talked about this before onthe podcast.
So for you if you've heardthis, sorry about the repeat.

(15:32):
But when um God reallyimpressed upon me, you need to
be teaching what I've taughtyou.
And you need to be teachingwhat Randy taught you.
And you know what Randy taughtme, it's what I teach isn't
identical to what he taught.
You know how things grow andchange and shift.
So he used key words or keyquestions.

(15:52):
I I lean into keywords thatwill just prompt a question.
Yeah.
Um, but there it's the sameidea, you're just wanting to
engage in the word.
And so I started teaching thisclass I call Abide, and these
four women just took hold of it.
And then I opened anotherclass, and those ten women took

(16:12):
hold of it, and it just startedmultiplying into a leadership
class, and now abide leadteachers.
So when you're teaching otherswhat that causes you to do, if
you're wise, which I try, seekto be wise, is you you go deeper
and you spend more time, andyou're like, I want to grow, I
want to learn, I want to becomethe master of what God's given

(16:37):
me.
So when I say master, I want tomaster that craft.
We master all kinds of crafts, right?
I know people that makebeautiful quilts, right?
I know people who paintbeautiful paintings.
My sister-in-law is an amazingartist, my friend is a great
quilter.
Um, so they master their craft.

Amber Sampson (16:54):
Right.

Kim McIntire (16:54):
And my passion is to master the craft of knowing
God's Word and having it on mytongue, and being able, like if
someone calls me or texts me foradvice, not just giving them my
thoughts or perspectives, butokay, Lord, remind me of what
you taught me.
And He will.
And just draw it out of thewell because if you take it in,
this living water, it becomes awell that other people can drink

(17:18):
from.

Amber Sampson (17:18):
Yeah.

Kim McIntire (17:19):
And it's not me.

Amber Sampson (17:20):
Yeah.

Kim McIntire (17:20):
I can assure you it's not me.
He's doing it, but I'm allowingit.
Yeah.

Amber Sampson (17:25):
So what are some um so you're reading the Bible
and you're going deeper?
So what are what are somepractical things that our
listeners could take hold oftoday um to deepen their um time
in the word?
Should they get a journal?
Should they um, you know, gettheir computer out?

(17:48):
Like what would you so what aresome things that have helped
you, I guess, to know the wordand um you know, keep the water
flowing in that well, you know?

Kim McIntire (17:59):
Yeah, one thing I do is I I I told you I silence
my phone.
I try to not have my phone byme unless someone's in the
hospital or there's a familysituation going on, or my
daughter's traveling, then Ikeep my phone closer.
Yeah.
Um, but one thing I do is I tryto eliminate distractions.
I am a writer, so I record mymy thoughts about God's word and

(18:21):
what I believe God's speaking.
I record it in a journal.
I have hundreds of journals.
I mean hundreds.
My poor daughter, one of thesedays, she's gonna have to figure
out what to do with them.
But um, then I also use myvoice audio on my phone.
So sometimes I just want tospeak God's word or the things
he's taught me so later I canlisten to it when I don't have
my paper Bible in front of me.

(18:41):
So that tons, dozens anddozens, probably I don't know,
50 or so on my phone of passagesthat I'm reading out loud.
That's really a powerful thingto do too, is to read God's word
out loud because the enemy canhear our voice, and that's a
weapon.
Um so journaling, getting ridof distractions, use your voice
audio.
I have a friend at church thatjournals into her phone.

(19:04):
So there's journal apps thatyou can download into your
phone.
Yeah.
And you can journal into yourphone.
But again, I would put my phoneon airplane mode if I'm doing
that.
I don't want notificationspopping up while I'm with the
Lord.
If I'm with you, Amber, andwe're having lunch, my
attention's on you, right?
Right.
And vice versa.
You're listening to me, I'mlistening to you.
Why should it be different withGod?

(19:25):
Yeah.
And when I'm with someone, Itry most of the time to put my
phone away.
Yeah, you do.
And I do that because I wantthe person I'm with to know you
have my attention.
And we should show God thatmuch respect or more.
Oh, really more.
Yeah, absolutely.
You know?

Amber Sampson (19:41):
So, like do you meet with the Lord the same time
every day?
Do you just meet with the Lord?
That's really changing.
It used to only be morning.

Kim McIntire (19:51):
Do you meet with them um you know, when you can,
or it's always in the morning, but I've actually begun reading
at night as well, and I didn'tused to do that, but because I'm
this passion, it's like whenyou develop a passion for
anything, you try to find timeto do it more whenever you can.
And I'm tired at night, so Idon't enjoy reading at night as

(20:12):
much.
But I I just find myselfpicking up the word more.
So when my husband's showering,I mute the TV and I just open
the word and pray and read, andyou know, I listen to audio
Bible, like there's times whenI'm walking, I'll listen to my
audio Bible.
I just try to take in the wordas much as I can as often as I
can.
Because the more you takesomething in, whatever it is, if

(20:33):
you're eating healthy food, youbecome healthier.
If you take in the word, you'regonna become stronger
spiritually.

Amber Sampson (20:38):
So, what would you say to the listener who is
like, the Bible reallyoverwhelms me?
There's some of it doesn't makesense, there's language I don't
understand, or I just gave myheart to the Lord a few months
ago and I don't even know whereto start.
What would you say to some sayto listeners who are maybe um

(21:01):
wanting to get started readingthe word and understand it and
grow in their you know walk withthe Lord through Bible reading,
but kind of don't know where toeven really begin.
Where would you what would yourrecommendations be?

Kim McIntire (21:14):
I would recommend that you go to the book of John
and don't feel like you have toread an entire chapter.
So chapters are divided intopassages, and when I'm first
teaching someone how to read theword, we take passages rather
than chapters and break downthat first passage.

(21:35):
Hopefully, well, my Bible hasmy Bibles all have passages
because I prefer it that way.
Yeah.
But not all Bibles read thatway.
Some of them it's just astraight-through chapter, it's
not broken down.
Yeah, a Bible that breaks itdown into titles.
And if you have a pure heartand your intention is to read

(21:56):
God's word and to learn, if youpray this prayer and make it
honest, Lord, I'm overwhelmed.
I don't understand it, I don'tknow what I'm doing, but I need
you to help me.
I need you to help me read yourword and to understand it and
to grow from it and to love it.
That's a prayer God willanswer.

(22:17):
Yeah.
But you really have to, and youknow, I would say, and I some
people, I have had peopledisagree with me about this, but
I would say, if you could reada passage and take five minutes
to read that one passage, andthen to just think about that
one passage, even if you're notjournaling, because so many

(22:39):
people do not like to write, butlet that roll in your mind.
Like, what is the one thing Ican leave?
I can leave knowing that mytime with God, even if it's five
minutes, it's something that Iknow I can put in my heart for
today.
Yeah.
I I can just tell you he'sgoing to do it.

(23:00):
Because what we don't alwaysknow is God wants that more than
we do.
Yeah, he does.
It's true.
I mean, he's so when the wordsays, abide in me and I will
abide in you, what he's sayingis draw close.
To live in Christ, to abide inhim, to remain in him means we

(23:21):
are taking part of who he is,and and there's no better way to
do that than to be in the word.
Yeah.
I mean, the word became flesh.
Right, right.
He made his dwelling among us.
And I've been, I'm gonna referto Mark Mark 4 really quick, and
I know I've already read like ascripture, but I want to just

(23:42):
say this parable, I feel like isa word that we need to really
take hold of.
And when I think about this, you know, I think about I've
been all of those things.
So let the listener hear.
The farmer sows the word.
This is Mark 4, verse 14through 20.

(24:03):
The farmer sows the word.
Some people are like seed alongthe path where the word is
sown.
As soon as they hear it, Satancomes and takes away the word
that was sown in them.
Others like seeds sown on rockyplaces, hear the word and at
once receive it with joy.
But since they have no root, they last only a short time.

(24:25):
When trouble or persecutioncomes because of the word, they
quickly fall away.
Still others, like seeds sownamong the thorns, hear the word,
but the worries of life and thedeceitfulness of wealth, and
the desires for other thingscome in and choke out the word,

(24:46):
making it unfruitful.
Okay, Amber, that all of thosehave been me at some point in my
life, right?
Where I had the word and I knewI should be reading it, and I
knew it should be planted in myheart, but the worries of life,
the deceitfulness of wealth, theshallow soil that won't take

(25:08):
root, the enemy comes and stealsit away.
You know, I'm not doing thosein the right order, but you you
get the idea, right?
For sure.
But verse 20.
Others, like seeds sown on goodsoil, hear the word, accept it,
and produce a crop 30, 60, 100times what was sown.

(25:29):
That is basically saying if youtake in God's word and you
meditate on it, and you let itreally take root in your heart
by connecting to it, because youcan't just read it for your
mind, you have to connect it toyour heart.
Your life is going to be afruitful life, and people will
take notice because you can'tdeny when someone is full of

(25:53):
Jesus.
And to be full of the word isto be full of Jesus.
And not in a legalistic way atall.

Amber Sampson (26:00):
Yeah, but in an intimate relationship way.
Yeah, and like when you lovefellowship.
Yeah, when you love somebody, you want to be with them.
You want to spend time withthem.
You do, you want to know them, you know.
You do.
And you and I've been friendsfor years, but uh there's so
much I don't know about you.
Right.
You know, ha there's stillthings about my husband of how
many every year.
I still don't know.
I'm still know I'm stilllearning.

(26:22):
And so that's the fun thing tooabout the Lord is that there's
so many facets to him that we'llnever know.
Oh my goodness.
Like no matter how many years,no matter how seasoned we think
we are or how far down the roadwe are, because you've been
reading the word for this thisway for 20 plus years now, and
you love it more now than youdid a few years ago when I met

(26:42):
you.

Kim McIntire (26:42):
Yeah, and it's really grown because you know
when I first started reading theword, I spent 15 minutes a day
in the word in prayer.
That's really what it began tobe, and then it grew and grew,
and now I can't seem to findenough time.
No matter how much time I have,I just don't ever seem to have
enough time.
But that's a great problem.
I'll take that problem any day.
But God's word healed my mind,Amber.

(27:04):
Wow.
I in my early 30s, I was at20s, 30s, really just a cycle of
worry, a cycle of dread, um,some irrational fears, and
little by little by little, because it is a process.
The Lord has healed my mind, and I have struggles just like
everyone.
There are times I might worry, but it's not common.

(27:26):
It's not my normal to worry,it's not my normal to dread.
It's not my normal to fear, andthere's no explanation but
God's word, because I can't dothat for myself.
Yeah, you know, no one can fixthat.
Right.
Um, you can go to goodcounseling, and I think
Christian counseling is awonderful thing, but I'm telling
you, nothing will heal yourmind, your heart, your body, and

(27:49):
your spirit.
I believe even reading God'sword has a healing effect on our
body.
Yeah, absolutely.
Absolutely on our heart, absolutely on our mind, but
there's nothing like it.
There's nothing like it.
Wow.
We had a transition a few yearsago where again, Everett, you
know, he seems to hear the Lordspecifically when it's time to

(28:09):
make a shift.
And he just felt like we neededto make a shift and change
where we were attending church, and that was a really hard
thing, really, really hard.
Um, oh man, 18 years in achurch I loved and the people,
oh my goodness, the best peopleyou could ever meet in your
life.
Um, and so much rich teaching, biblical teaching that I mean my

(28:32):
roots were just going deep, really going deep in that in
that church.
Um, and we left, it was duringCOVID, you know, everything was
chaotic during that season ofCOVID.
And when we came to this otherchurch where you were attending
at the time, like we becamefriends.
I became friends with Holly, some other women on our team,

(28:54):
and that's when we all startedpraying together, and then the
Lord put this vision about Thatwas where you that's where we
met.
Yeah, we met Yes, that's right,in Cindy's house when we were
praying together.
So I just kind of want to bringit full circle as as we became
as I became part of this newcommunity of believers.
I feel like God, you know, there's never there's never a
point where you hit the ceilingwith the Lord.

(29:15):
And so then I meet these womenthat are new to my life, and you
guys were just iron thatsharpens iron and challenging
me, pushing me out of my comfortzone, asking me to do things
I'd never thought about doing.
I never in my life thought Iwould be hosting a podcast, I
never in my life thought I wouldbe part of a conference, and
you know, it is in baby stages, but God's done so much, it's

(29:36):
just blowing me away.
And then to think, okay, Ididn't know I would be leading
abide classes, you know, fiveyears ago.
I didn't know I would lead aprayer team, and none of this is
because of me, it's because ofhim.
Yeah, like the Lord, he willconnect you to who you need to
be connected to, he will moveyou when you need to move, he
will transition you, he willchallenge you.

(29:59):
Yeah.
Has he ever challenged me?
Because I feel like I'm moreout of my comfort zone now than
I've ever been in my life.

Amber Sampson (30:05):
So is so are you saying um are you saying like
it's important to be pliable,it's important to be flexible.
And when he says go, go, it'simportant to be obedient.
Oh for sure.
Yeah.
Yeah, and that's gonna changethat's a big that's gonna change
your life.
Oh it is working in obedience.
Yeah, and it's not easy.
No, i yeah, and that's thething.

(30:26):
It's it's really not inobedience to the outsider may
look easy, but boy, can it be itcan be really painful.

Kim McIntire (30:35):
Yeah, and it and we've had battles, you know, I
think you would you would agreelike being part of of Rise Up
and just everything the Lord'sdoing and getting ready for this
revival conference and knowingthat we're all praying for
revival.
You know, I mean I startedpraying for revival during the
COVID season season.
The Lord spoke to me on mypatio one day and said, invite

(30:55):
women to pray for revival.
And I'm like, Lord, nobody'seven going to church.
Who's gonna show up at my houseto pray for revival?
And five women showed up, andpretty soon 15 women showed up,
and pretty soon 20, and then 25,and over a three-year period,
60 women came in and out of myliving room to pray for revival.
And now we're hosting a revivalconference with Rise Up.

(31:16):
You know, and look what theLord has done.
Look what he is all Him.
Oh, it's all Him.
We cannot produce this.
Not a chance.

Amber Sampson (31:24):
Not a chance.
None of us know enough aboutwhat we're doing.
We yeah, even on our best day,we're so ill-equipped, but it's
just and that's what makes it sospecial, I think, is that it
all is a reflection of his gloryand his goodness.
And but I also we do play apart in it, and so I think it's
okay it's i we we all said yes.

(31:47):
We all said yes.
And sometimes we had to um pushpeople to say yes.
I remember Kim was like, Idon't know, and you felt it.
I was a hard self.
You were hard, you were hardersell.
You felt it, but I don't thinkyou you know, I don't know, but
it's uh it's been a journey, umthe whole everything uh the last

(32:08):
few years.
And so I don't know, we'llprobably have some conversation
about that in the future.
We will the journey of of RiseUp because boy it's been a
journey and we've all grown inthese few years of in
friendship.
We've grown with the Lord.
Yeah.
And we've grown in prayer.
Have we grown in prayer?

(32:29):
One thing I want to say, and Idon't is that uh one thing I've
really learned from you is thatwhen you're like in a you're not
knowing what to pray for asituation, maybe it maybe it's
for a friend or maybe it'spersonal, is going back to the
word.
Pray the word.
Pray the word.
Pray the word.
In this day and age we've gotwe've got Google at our

(32:51):
fingertips.
Yeah.
What are some scriptures um topray for my husband?
What are some scriptures topray for my friend who's
grieving?
And Google is gonna just pop itright up.
Now there's other ways to doit, but if you're like me, you
know, it's pretty fast.
It's but there's nothing wrongwith that.
There's faster than finding mystrongest concordance and

(33:12):
digging through that.
So um, but that's somethingthat I've learned from Kim is uh
one of the many things.
But uh is that when you don'tknow how to pray for something,
you know, pray the word.
And and and the other thing Iwould say too is when Kim prays,

(33:32):
her prayers get answered.
And you might think, well, Idon't want why should I pray?
My prayers don't get answeredfor like I'm talking to the
wall.
Pray the word.
Because then you're prayingGod's will.
And I I mean it's so simple.
It won't fail.
It won't fail, but that is hiswill.
And so um, you know, whenyou're praying for your, you
know, your family, you'repraying for a situation, pray

(33:53):
the word and watch what Goddoes.
Um that's um, anyways, I don'twe we can't make this a
three-part because we couldeasily go into three parts
talking about the things I'velearned from Kim.
But oh you're sweet.
Well that learned so much forme a friend.
Well, but it's it's just youknow, and that's you know,
that's a thing I would say ifever if you're like, I want a

(34:14):
friend like Kim, I want a friendlike Kim, one thing I would say
is pray that God brings peopleinto your life that are running
hard and fast towards the Lordand watch him answer it.
Because that's that's onethat's a part of my testimony.
And and so I can sit acrossthis table right now and look at
you and think that's Godanswered that prayer by bringing

(34:34):
you into my life among other uhladies in my life.
So um and that's mutual.
Yeah, so it's that's mutual.
It's been so fun to hear allthe things about you, Kim.
Well, thank you for asking ifyou could interview me.
Yeah, it's you did a great jobpodcasting.
You know, it's uh it's beenit's been fun and you know.
And I hope you don't still likeit.

(34:55):
That will not happen.
I love it.
I'm not fault to this, but it'sit is fun.
And uh, but again, talkingabout saying yes, you know, God
will bless you.
It's true.
Um, anyways, but it's been sofun.
I hope you listeners haveenjoyed getting to hear more
about Kim, and I hope it stirs apassion in you to read your

(35:19):
Bible and to pray and to setaside your phone.
Amen.
You know, in your prayer time,or to just get off your phone
Bible app, which is great, butget into your paper Bible, get
your pen out, your journal.

Kim McIntire (35:33):
It's a legacy too.
Someone's gonna have that whenyou pass to heaven, yeah.
Right?
So it's a legacy.
Yeah, I mean, I know it's gonnaencourage my daughter when she
opens my Bible and I'm inheaven, and my granddaughter or
my grandson, yeah.
Yeah, for sure.
So think about it that way too.
Thank you, Amber, so much.
Yeah, it's been fun.
Thank you all for listening.
