Inmate Charged with Murder in Jacksonville Jail Attack

In Jacksonville, Florida, a shocking murder charge is filed against Virginia Hampton, 58, for the brutal beating of her cellmate, Jema Schunke, 47, at the Duval County jail. Schunke was found injured on August 15th and passed away a week later. Hampton allegedly attacked Schunke on the top bunk, punching her and continuing the assault as they moved towards the cell bars. Hampton was initially arrested for battery but was later charged with second-degree murder after Schunkes death was ruled a homicide. Hampton reportedly viewed Schunke as fragile and someone she could bully. She is scheduled to be arraigned on November 13th.
