I donated a little somethingtoday just to send over that to

.
Biden, he did send out what hesaid.
He announced that he's going tobe sending out $770 checks for

(02:53):

Now it may not sound like a lot, but in hindsight, when you
have nothing, literally havenothing, it's a whole lot, all
right, so all right.
So just sending the love andthe prayers.
California, everyone inCalifornia, listen.

(03:14):
Okay, next week, on MartinLuther King's birthday,
president elect, trump, electedTrump, will take the office.
Okay, so that's enough of thatright there, let's move on.
Okay, congratulations go out toSandeia and Tom Holland.

(03:34):
Listen, I am a big Tom Hollandfan.
I love Sandeia too, but I loveSpider-Man.
I love anything Marvel.
I'm telling you anything Marvel.
I have watched Avengers like athousand times already on Disney
.
I'm telling you anything Marvel.
I have watched Avengers like athousand times already on Disney
.
I would never get rid of Disneybecause I watch all of them,
all.
Captain America, you know, they're bringing back what's the

(03:55):
guy named that played in Ironman?
They're bringing him back.
I am loving him.
He's playing a differentcharacter.
He's supposed to be a meanie.
Okay, congratulations to Zunzeaand Tom Holland.
They are officially engaged.
Okay, they got engaged.
What?
Last week or over the holidays,or something like that.
And then the rumors are thatCommon and Jennifer Hudson are

(04:18):
engaged.
Now.
I have not heard it come out ofhis mouth.
I have not heard it come out ofher mouth Now.
I do remember him saying thatJennifer Hudson is the marrying
type and I do remember hersaying that they are taking
their time.
But I think they are so cutetogether.
Yes, they are, and I want to beon Jennifer Hudson's show.

(04:39):
So y'all may hear me say hername a whole lot during my shows
.
Right, because I want to walkdown that little hallway where
they be doing a little my shows.
Right, because I want to walkdown that little hallway where
they be doing a little dancingand they singing.
So I want my own song.
I want to walk down that aisle.
That's what I want to do, allright.
And if I was in the studio, msDominique would be walking down
the aisle dancing to my song.

(04:59):
That's right.
All right, all right.
So let's get on with get on, geton, get off.
Listen, if you're looking tostart a business for 2025, get
up off your butt and go do it.
All right.
Don't let next year, at thesame time saying I'm going to do
it this year, just do it.
It's just like doing a YouTubeor starting your video.

(05:20):
Like me, right, I wouldn't gota backdrop.
I'm using my phone and I'm like, hey, listen, just get up and
go and do it.
All right, cause if you don't,you never will.
All right, I have some ideasthat you can actually do.
Um, some of the ideas is healthand wellness seem to be popular.

(05:41):
I actually do some of thehealth.
I now put some of the linksdown on YouTube or Facebook or
wherever you're watchingInstagram later.
But you can do health andwellness.
I do the CTFO, changing thefuture of outcome, and they have
all natural products.
I really love it.
One of the ones that theyactually have is the Exhilarate

(06:04):
If you drink those energy drinks.
This one is so much betterbecause you don't have the crash
afterwards.
Yeah, no, you don't have thecrash.
You can also do digitalmarketing.
You could do the eBooks.
You can do the instructionsheet and sell them for a dollar
.
To do the eBooks, five, $10.
I have my own book that I do,the power of words.

(06:26):
Okay, um, and I and I love abook, so you can get my book on
Amazon.
All right, um, the power ofwords, alice Boswell and I got
some other books on there andjournals as well, um.
And then the third thing thatyou can add to do that I love to
do, um is drop shipping.
Yeah, now, the one that I usefor drop shipping for t-shirts.

(06:46):
I use Printful.
Yeah, I love Printful and itworks well for me and my website
.
So those are some of the ideasthat you can, and if you want to
start your own channel, justget up and do it.
One follower, two followersthey're going to constantly grow
.
I was at 135, 135 followersabout a month ago.

(07:07):
Now I'm like at 270.
So, be consistent and do whatyou have to do.
Listen, you can dream all youwant to, all right, listen to me
, you could dream all you wantto, but dreams do not work
unless you do.
You got to get up off your buttand you got to go and do it,
and that goes for me too, allright.
So, with that being said, dang,I went through my little speech

(07:31):
a little fast, didn't I?
Yeah, I did.
I did my whole monologue in aquick, quick second, all right.
So, listen, we are going tobring on Dominique.
Dominique, are you ready?
Give me a thumbs up, dominique,if you're ready.
Look, this is the most happiestgirl I have ever met in my life

(07:53):
.
I wish she was my daughter.
She's just happy, happy, happy.
But we're going to bring MissDominique on up and hey, how you
doing Miss Lane, hey, alice, how you doing, girl, how you
doing Great.
So do that little hair forUnbecoming.
Go ahead, do it for me One time.

(08:13):
Unbecoming, yes, listen, we gotso much to talk about.
Thank you for joining me.
I know we have done this beforeand thanks for having us come
back, no problem, no problem.
Um, I saw that you were at thecity winery.
I got questions for you.

(08:34):
But that is a young lady.
Look at you, you are steppingup.
How was that experience?
It was a good experience.
I was crazy, as I was the firstact, so I had to set the tone
for the rest of the show.
It was a showcase that I didwith a good friend of mine.
That helped me get on the show.

(08:54):
I auditioned and everythingthey liked liked it and it was
like, hey, come to the showcase.
So that's what happened.
Look at you, look at you, justyou just getting on.
I said we are happy, all right,so let's go into your album,
all right.
Um, well, let's start off withyou.
What inspired you to make aswitch?
Because most of you all whodon't know miss dominique was a

(09:17):
gospel singer in a group.
So what made you do the switchto an indie pop singer?
Yeah, so I made the switchbecause I feel like that.
Why do we have to be in a boxIf we have multi-genre music and
God is a multifaceted God, whycan't we be multifaceted?

(09:38):
So let's be out of the box, okay.
So I feel like I I can do eachgenre and I'm trying each genre
as I go along and I'm findingout like, okay, yeah, this is
kind of fun.
So, yeah, I want to test mylimits and go beyond that.
So, yeah, that's why I made theswitch.
Nothing bad or anything.
God is still my god.

(09:58):
Okay, let's get that straight,he's still in my but I wanted to
do more than that.
so, yeah, oh, very good.
And what is your favorite genreright now?
Because I know you rap and Iknow you sing and you can
believe me, I went to her umrelease party.
Yeah, so the girl can sing andshe can, she can rap, she can do

(10:19):
both.
She's she's multi-titled it.

Speaker 2 (10:22):
So what's your favorite?

Speaker 1 (10:23):
My favorite right now is the R&B side.
The R&B side.
I'm in between R&B and pop, butright now it's R&B.
And who do you want to workwith?
Ooh, r&b.
And who do you want to workwith, oh, uh, r&b.
Uh, maybe number one could belike brandy.

(10:44):
Second, fantasia, third, um,chris brown, like it's a long
list.
So nothing, you have to say it,you have to speak it, you have
to put it out there into theabsolutely the universe got to
hear what you want for sure, forsure, right, all right.
So, um, how is it different frombeing a gospel singer to pop
singer?

(11:04):
Now, how, how's it different?
The difference because you werein a group, right, yes, yeah,
yeah, I was with in a, uh,crystal group.
It was called for short atdl, but it was called after the due
order.
Um, the difference between thatand being a pop singer, I feel
like when it comes to likeChristian contemporary and

(11:24):
gospel, you have to stay in thatand it's hard to break out of
that when people see youestablished with that per se and
because I'm not yet mainstream.
Um, yeah, you may have known mefrom a Christian contemporary
background, but, um, I'm movingforward.
I want to be established asmultifaceted, so I want to go

(11:47):
ahead and break the differenceand and and be pop beap.
You know anything else afterthat?
Edm, indian, like I, will learndifferent languages.
I'm all for it.
Like Spanish, I'm here, I'mcoming for it, all OK, what?

(12:09):
What theme messages?
What theme or messages canlisteners expect from Unbecoming
?
All right, so this is yourfirst solo album.
So you wrote pretty much thewhole album yourself, right?
Pretty much, yeah, me and myhusband and another artist,
terrell Rayshon, as well as JDonnell Jamari Parrish for his

(12:29):
government name.
But yeah, I had help, butmostly, yes me, okay, and what
kind of theme can we expect fromyour, from Unbecoming, when
they go and listen to it?
So, overall, as far asUnbecoming is concerned, the
theme is like happy-go-luckyit's okay to be weird and just

(12:49):
happy and bubbly, just happybubbly, and I love it.
I love it.
I'm actually going to play yourvideo, which I have to edit it
in, at the end of Unbecoming.
I love it.
I like that song, I really do.
Thank you, it grows on you.
You're like yeah, yeah, itcomes out the gate like pew,
yeah, definitely.
In what ways do you hope yourmusic will resonate with your

(13:15):
previous gospel music audienceor to your new audience?
Oh for sure, um, I hope itresonates with people that, like
I said before, it's okay to beyourself it's okay to
authentically be yourself.
Uh, if you want to be weird, beweird.
Everybody is weird.
First of all, in in in thebible it said god made us.

(13:35):
We were fearfully andwonderfully made.
He didn't say we were all madethe same, right.
So it's okay to be yourself.
You don't have to copy anybody.
It's okay to be yourself, that.
But that's what I want to haveresonate with everybody, because
we live in a world where theytell you what you need to, what
to be, how to dress, what to do,things of that sort.
Have your own mind, speak foryourself and create and be

(14:00):
whoever it is that you desire tobe hands down, and so that
tells me that I'm becoming.
You can't come up with thattitle man, because I'm becoming.
This is your song is definitelyabout being yourself.
Yeah, yes, I'm.
Even though it's looked at froma negative light, I'm switching

(14:23):
it and making it a positive, because all the things that
people may have told you, thethings that you may have
accepted or being negative,we're going to unbecome that.
We're going to unravel thatcoil that was made and unravel

(14:44):
that and just become somethingnew.
You're going to be that worm, that caterpillar, going to that
cocoon and come out as somethingtotally brand new, a butterfly.
What can we look forward to inthe future?
Oh yeah, so yeah, I have, actually, I have about maybe two

(15:05):
to three songs that's comingout real, real soon, real real
soon.
So look out for that on my pageI'll share that very soon.
So I have that coming up.
I'm getting ready Actually Ihave a rehearsal right after
this to record a show, whetherit's a show or a movie, but I'm
into acting, so I do that, andthen I'll be doing some covers,

(15:31):
some sheet mixes and I'll becoming up with that.
So look out for that, all right, all right.
Well, talking about your album, you said got some more music
coming up.
What's your favorite on thealbum?
That's hard to say, because Ilike them all, they're all.
I think the, the one thatresonates the most, is

(15:51):
unbecoming, and then, um,supposed to be, and that's only
an interlude, that's, that's noteven a full song.
It's supposed to be, I think,uh, resonates more as far as me
is concerned, okay, and whatdoes what, what, what, what do
you want your legacy to looklike?
Creative?

(16:11):
I know we associate, um,everything as far as the rainbow
like.
I like colors, rainbow colors.
I know that's associated sortof with the LGBTQ plus and I QI
plus, but I want people to thinkof me as multifaceted and

(16:33):
multicolored, because I likecolors and it's okay to be
yourself.
So that's my legacy Be yourself, be you, be you, be you.
You have to be you and that isthe truth.
Listen, I'm becoming okay, Ilove that, I really do.
I love that title.
You have no idea, I love thattitle, but I'm becoming has

(16:55):
become described as the anthemof liberation and transformation
.
Can you talk about the personalstories behind um, um, the
standout track, unbecoming, andmy hair?
Because y'all have to, oh, mygod, you all have to listen to

(17:15):
my hair, okay, yeah, yes, yes, yes, that is a staple.
My hair, for sure, because, listen, I just had a bob last
week and now I got stitch braids.
Look, listen, okay, all right, but yeah, um, I'm becoming,
let's get into it.
So I went through some things asfar as in my past that I feel
like that I no longer desire togo through, because one of the

(17:39):
things was when you grow up in aworld, in a society, where they
say, oh, you can't be amusician, you're not going to
make money doing that, oh, youcan't be a musician.
You're not gonna make moneydoing that.
Yes, you can if you work at it.
Yes, you can if you meet theright people.
Yes, you can.
And, and I feel like my dreamswere put on hold because, uh, uh

(18:01):
, people thought that I shouldjust make sure that I get a
career that's gonna pay thebills.
We don't grow up in life justworking.
You know, um, like, like slaves, like that's that's going to
pay the bills.
We don't grow up in life justworking, you know, like slaves,
like that's not our purpose inlife.
We were not here, we were notput in this earth to be slaves
and just work a nine to five, day to day.

(18:22):
We have a purpose in life andthat's what I'm trying to do.
So that's what I'm purposing todo.
First of all, let's change mywords.
That's what I'm purposing to do.
First of all, let's change mywords.
Um, but I'm becoming.
I went through that Um and Iaccepted that Um, and then
people would try growing up.
People try to um shelter or puta uh, uh, you know the candle

(18:42):
where you put a bushel over itand the light goes dim.
Try to put a dim on my light.
And as far as singing.
So I will tell you right nowlike I don't think that I'm 100%
confident as far as singing isconcerned, but I can sing.
But I feel like I'm moremultifaceted in my rapping and I

(19:02):
can be more creative in thatvein.
So it's kind of my singing islike but other people's like,
why do do it?
Why Do it, do it, do it, don'tbe afraid to do it.
So I'm like, okay, I'm going tostep out and unbecome all those
things that people said that Icouldn't, could not do, and go
for it.
And you know what I like.
What you said about dreams andyou out there working I think I

(19:23):
mentioned it in my monologue inthe beginning you can dream all
you want to, but if you don'tget out there and work those
dreams, they're just going toalways be dreams.
You have to get out, you haveto want to do it and be
consistent in what you do.
Learn your craft.
That's what you're supposed todo, for sure.

(19:43):
So what do you have coming upnext and before we start that
part, what do you have coming upnext and before we start that
part?
But if you just joining in, I amAlice Boswell and this is jam
with Alice on intellectualradiocom and I have my guest in
the pop singer, dominiqueBorshay, and she's going to

(20:04):
answer a question for me.
She know I'm going to take herthrough the ringer about this
name.
All right, she knows it.
All right, she knows it Allright.
So now, what do you have comingup next?
Yes, so I have about two tothree songs that's getting ready
to drop very, very soon.
I'm looking to drop one, possibly this week.

Speaker 2 (20:23):
I believe.

Speaker 1 (20:23):
And then another one right before Valentine's Day to
get everybody in the mood oflove, and that's the next thing
that's on the agenda.
And then, right after that, I'mgoing to be doing some cover
songs that I'm going to flipOkay, some oldies and turn them
into newbies.
I can't wait.

(20:44):
I cannot wait Now.
Everybody know that I am soexcited about your name.
So it's Dominique.
I say Dominique Borochet.
She told me that's how I'msupposed to pronounce it.
That's the American way, that'sthe.
American way.
That's the American way.
Y'all we about to get fancy upin here.
So I'm ready.
I'm ready for my lesson.
Okay, let's talk about yourname.
Okay, the, the last name.

(21:06):
We already know what Dominiqueis.
No, boroshe, where does it comefrom and how do you pronounce
it?
Okay, so it's Boroshe.
So it's my husband's last name.
It's Nigerian and it's French, and what it means is because I

(21:27):
had to look it up last time youasked me crown like crown of
glory, because with my name andthat name, that's what it means.
So I was like oh yes, someroyalty.
Hello, Wear it.
Yeah, borisha Day.
So yes, borisha Day, borishaDay, see, look at y'all, I'm all

(21:47):
fancy.
Borisha Day, borisha Day, yougot.
See, look at y'all, I'm allfancy.
You got to do a song on thatone, honey.
You have any events coming up?
Not at the moment, not yet, see, but you have to tell them
where they can find you and Iwill make sure the information

(22:08):
is down in the description, youall.
As you can see my page onfacebook, instagram, tiktok, if
it's still here, um, it's atofficial official dominique.
You can see it right here undermy name, um, as well, as I have
a website, officialdominiquecom, and you can reach me there as

(22:29):
well.
Uh, fill out the form and bookme and you can get in contact
with me like that.
So, either way, send me a directmessage, however you want.
And, okay, we're winding down.
So we're getting to the partwhere you actually going to
mentor to other people and youcould mentor to someone else
who's getting in the business.
What would you?
What advice would you give them?
Ooh, tough skin, because themusic industry is no joke.

(23:00):
So, uh, you definitely gottahave tough skin.
That's one.
Um.
Second, stay consistent.
Um.
Third, know your worth.
Um.
Fourth, be you.
I'll leave it at that, allright.
Well, I'm surprised you didn't,you didn't, you didn't say have
a good support team.
Definitely, have a support team, like family, whether it's

(23:22):
family or friends support team.
For sure.
You need the support becauseit's going to be moments where
you like oh, what do you mean?
I'm tired, it's not working.
These, these facebook andinstagram posts, it's not
gaining what I needed to gain,it's not doing what I needed to
do.
You need that support system.
Keep going, keep going, keeppushing.

(23:42):
You gotta keep going.
Yes, you need support yes.
Listen, I want to thank you forjoining me again.
Alright, you have the mostbubbly personality and I wish
you the most success in thewhole wide world.
Look at her.

I know for one.
He's everywhere with her period, right, I have a video you all
going to see it up.
When she did the city winery andher cousin I think that was

(24:24):
your cousin he like yeah, yeah,so, yeah, all right, look so
what we learned from here.
If you have dreams, he's likeyeah, yeah, yeah, so, yeah, all
right, look so what we learnedfrom here.
If you have dreams, you'regoing to have to be like
Dominique and you're going tohave to work them.
You're going to have to beconsistent and get you a nice,
steady group of people that canhug you when you're thinking you
can't do it.
You can do it.
Yes, ma'am, yes, lawyer, that'sit, that's it, that's it.
