S1 (00:01):
The social contagion of transgenderism is spreading like wildfire throughout
our nation, leaving emotionally, physically and spiritually wounded people in
its wake. America needs to eradicate this disease.
S2 (00:12):
Here to unpack present day issues from a biblical perspective
is Janet Parshall.
S1 (00:19):
For far too long, parents whose children struggle with how
they sexually identify have been told that if they don't
allow their child to transition to their desired sex, their
child could kill themselves. A study now underscores that lie
has been nothing but a cudgel to force parents to
comply with a deadly ideology. A study published by the
Oxford School of Sexual Medicine found that undergoing so-called sex
change surgery, far from reducing depression rates among the gender dysphoric,
(00:43):
substantially increased the rates not only of depression, but of anxiety,
suicidal ideation, and substance use disorders. The study, which analyzed
over 107,000 patients, revealed that males who underwent surgery had
a 25.4% depression rate, more than double the 11.5% in
those who didn't have the surgery. Anxiety rates among males
(01:03):
were 12.8% for those who had the surgery, compared to 2.6%
who didn't have the surgery. Females who underwent surgery had
a depression rate of 22.9%, compared to 14.6% in those
who didn't. Females who underwent the surgery also had anxiety
rates of 10.5%, compared to 7.1% without surgery. The study
(01:23):
found that males undergoing feminizing surgeries demonstrated a particularly high
risk for depression and substance abuse disorders, up to two
years after the procedures. Doctor Hilary Cass was commissioned by
the National Health Services of England to examine gender identity
services for children and young people. The report, nearly 400
pages long, found remarkably weak evidence to support the use
(01:45):
of puberty blockers and hormone treatments for gender distressed children.
The report also includes 32 specific recommendations on how gender
services should operate in England. The Cass report made numerous
suggestions for moving towards safer practices, including reviewing and scrutinizing
the use of hormones in puberty blockers on young people.
Evaluating the standards for gender services to the same standards
(02:06):
that other medical procedures must abide by. Taking a holistic
approach to any gender related interventions, including a mental health
assessment and autism screening, and encouraging workplace supports to foster
candid engagements by health professionals on the clinical treatment of
gender questioning children. The Cass report moves the UK in
the direction of other countries like Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Ireland
(02:27):
and Italy where imposed restrictions are in place or there
is current debate on the topic. The United States is
quickly becoming an outlier in this area, with its radically
aggressive programs on transitioning children without notification or consent from parents.
Recognizing transgenderism is an ideology and gender dysphoria is a diagnosis.
It's time for the radical activists to follow the science.
(02:50):
Those are my thoughts. I'm Janet Parshall.
