S1 (00:01):
In the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical carousel, there is a
memorable number called June Is Bustin Out All Over. The
song goes in part, the feeling is getting so intense
that the young Virginia creepers have been hugging the bejeepers
out of all the morning glories on the fence. The
message is, the glorious days of summer are about to start,
along with all the fun that defines the joys of
the season. But somewhere along the line, the month of

(00:23):
June has been hijacked.

S2 (00:24):
Here to unpack present day issues from a biblical perspective
is Janet Parshall.

S1 (00:30):
In June 1999, a proclamation by then-President Bill Clinton identified
June as Gay Pride Month. Since then, two other presidents,
Barack Obama in 2011 and Joe Biden in 2024, have
issued declarations stating the same thing. The month was selected
because on June 28th, 1969, New York City police raided
a gay bar that turned into five days of rioting.

(00:51):
Homosexual activists deemed the rioting to be the start of
what they believe is a civil rights movement for LGBTQ people.
The national website for that group states it's June again,
which means it's pride Month for many. It's a busy
month full of raucous bar parties and parades in the
summer heat, it's easy to think pride is simply what
you see posted on social media, but that is far
from the reality. Pride is more than just a party.

(01:13):
It's a political catalyst that's been building social change for years. Sadly,
many have bought into the idea that sexual sin is
a cause for celebration. The WNBA, the NBA, the MLB,
the Washington Capitals, commanders and Nationals have all posted their
support along with the New York Giants, the Houston Texans,
the green Bay Packers, the Chicago Bears, the Atlanta Falcons,

(01:36):
the New York Mets, the San Francisco Giants, and many more.
Sports teams have all waved the rainbow flag. But it's
not just the sports world that has bought into this.
Sesame Street is celebrating this year with a transsexual human guest.
In 2023, Sesame Street featured a homosexual actress promoting the
month alongside Elmo. This year, a major cosmetics company is

(01:56):
teaming up with a trans pop star to promote a
new lip gloss. Abercrombie and Fitch have created a pride
2025 collection for their clothesline, and Disneyland is declaring their
support again. But this year, there's also a dramatic shift
away from support. Corporate America has heard the pushback from
consumers who have had enough of wokeness, and as a result,
many corporations are no longer sponsoring gay pride events. Aquafina,

(02:20):
Captain Crunch, Cheetos, Doritos, Gatorade, Lay's, Lipton Mountain Dew, Tostitos
that's just a few of the brands that have pulled back.
The month of June has truly been hijacked, and we
have turned sexual sin into something to be proud of
in this country. The mandate to be kind and compassionate
to those who struggle with same sex attraction is always
before us. But when a nation celebrates sin of any kind,

(02:43):
the decline of that country is imminent. Those are my thoughts.
I'm Janet Parshall.
