At the time of releasing this episode, many would say we live in Uncertain Times. If one takes a moment for reflection, the signs are all there. The headlines showcase them each day; random violence, lawlessness, wars, anxiety, depression, mental health challenges, suicide, technology that is eliminating jobs, persecution of people of faith, raging inflation, housing cost beyond many's reach, entrainment that is becoming increasingly dark, a raging drug epidemic, all time low Church attendance, and many are seeking peace in these uncertain times.
Uncertainty in one's life can lead to mental health symptoms such as stress, poor sleep quality, mental fatigue, fear of loosing control, anxiety, and depression. Physical health symptoms of uncertainty include forgetfulness, elevated heart rate, sweating, appetite changes, nausea, body pain, irritability, and fatigue.
If given the proper spiritual attention, uncertainty can be replaced with peace in one’s life. The uncertain aspects which are out of one’s control may not change, but how one approaches these uncertainties and deals with them can be. The areas of life we talk about in this episode are the temporal needs, life purpose, and eternal security. Trusting God with these areas of life can lead to peace in uncertainty.
