I Know You’d Be Proud” is a song written by Jimmy Thrasher, Corinne McKnight, and Tim Pastor and produced by Jimmy Thrasher.
After losing his late wife Tammy to cancer some three years earlier, Jimmy Thrasher noticed a building being torn down on Woodward Avenue in Muscle Shoals, Al. He then began to think of how much things had changed since losing his wife. He then began to think of how much his life had changed since losing her, and a nagging question arose. What would she think about all of the changes, what would she think about me? As he continued to drive, the answer wrapped him up like a warm blanket – “She would be proud.”
That experience weighed on Jimmy’s mind and heart until action was required. Fast forward six years later, the song is released digitally through CDX Records/Sony Orchard on Thrasher Sound Records, is now the soul of Silent Witness, Inc's current project; the “I Know You’d Be Proud Project," and is the subject for this Podcast. It’s a message of hope and encouragement in Christ; if you have loved ones in Heaven, live on earth in such a manner as you know they would be proud of how you are living for Christ. Make em’ Proud!
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” – Hebrews 12:1-2 NIV
