Are we sacrificing public safety for political games?

Chicago’s streets are gripped by violence, with 58 people shot over Labor Day weekend alone. Yet, our leaders are still more concerned with politics than protecting lives. This week’s podcast dives deep into why city officials reject real help—like National Guard support—while communities, especially Black neighborhoods, bear the brunt of tragedy. Even organizations once vocal about racial justice remain silent when the crisis is internal, and the media often looks away.

With elections looming, we can’t afford to ignore leadership failures any longer. Listen in, share, and let’s demand change before more lives are lost.

Speaker 1 (00:10):
You know what jingle I don't like to hear?
It's the jingle of an ambulancerushing down the street Because
we have to save a life.
Someone's been shot.
When I used to live in Torontopeople didn't believe it, but
they were not that far away frommy house, several blocks away.
It was gang wars and it wasscary.

(00:31):
People wanted nothing of it andwe were begging the police to
come and save people and keeppeople safe and so on and so
forth.
But apparently the DemocraticParty doesn't believe in safety.
The Democratic police takes, you know, when it comes up to
the nanny state.
We're going to tell you what todo, how to do, why to do, when
to get a COVID shot, when totake a piss, when to do all

(00:52):
kinds of things, but when itcomes to your safety, as long as
a Republican is involved, itdoesn't hold muster.
Hey everybody, welcome back tothe Rant Network.
My name is David Solomon, he isStuart Prisgill.
We are the Rant Network whereevery Monday, wednesday, friday,
noon Eastern, we just do allthese crazy things called the
ranting, where we do unedited, uncensored, unfiltered and
unapologetic opinions on allkinds of stories.

(01:14):
It's all about news, thecraziness that is society and
what you and I live through.
These are conversations thatusually we're seeing now in
hushed tones, because people areafraid to express themselves.
We are not, so sit back Onceagain.
Today, we just peel off anotherlayer of your Democratic Party

(01:35):
in 2025.
See to me, stuart, the way yourcountry works.
My country, a lot of thesecountries that are so-called
democracies, are trying to proveto you my way is better than
the other guy's way.
It's got nothing to do.
If I'm right, it's got to dothat they're wrong, that no

(01:56):
matter what they do, they'rewrong.
Don't question my methods.
Question theirs, becausethey're wrong.
And that's exactly what's goingon in the state of illinois.
You have a governor who saysthere's nothing wrong in the
streets of chicago, as peopleare getting murdered, attacked,
you know, raped, it doesn'tmatter.
The mayor of the city says theexact same thing.

(02:16):
Don't do that.
Don't do that.
And then points the finger outat donald trump.
You're an autocrat, you're abad person.
You see why you can't vote forhim.
He's bad, he's bad, he's bad.
But what are you going to tellthe families the people who were
killed over the weekend?
What are you going to tell thepeople who want to visit the
city of Chicago who know it isnot safe.

(02:37):
Stuart, to me this is freakinginsane.

Speaker 2 (02:41):
You know, david, let's face it, the left likes to
play with the numbers and theydo so in ways that no other
party other than the CommunistRepublic of the Soviet Union or
China or North Korea has everdone before.
Fifty eight people were shotover labor day weekend and, by

(03:08):
the way, guys that's reportedshot and next thing is that's
just labor day in the city ofchicago.
It's not the state.
Eight people got shot andkilled overnight in Chicago.
Didn't report it.
You know the mayor is trying tosay that 603 homicides and 773

(03:34):
homicides in Cook County is notso bad.
It's 2024.
Because in 2025, we're onlyreporting 192.
That's 32 better 192 dead now.
By the way, ironically, thedead are majority black

(03:57):
african-americans.
You know the types of blacksthat are.
You know Floyd wanting toworship people, people that took
a knee kind of people.
But the party that wanted totake a knee for Floyd doesn't
want to take a knee for Chicagoand Chicago people, chicago
residents, black Americans.

(04:18):
It doesn't matter the violenceand, by the way, how
disingenuous is a almost whiteguy saying the black community
should be burning in the streetsover this matter?
You know what?
In Chicago, they destroyed theeducation system.
They've destroyed theinfrastructure.

(04:38):
They've kind of made it like acommunist city almost Don't
educate the population.
They don't know what's good orbad.
It's political meandering atbest, and the likes of which
have not been duplicated in anyothers.
No-transcript.

(04:59):
The mayor doesn't want DonaldTrump.
I don't need you.
You're an autocrat.
You know what?
I'm sick and tired of theseleft-wing screwballs calling the
kettle black.
It's just annoying as hell.
It's like the Parti Quebecoiswhen we were kids, david, saying
language law, language law,language law.
Preserve the French heritage.

(05:21):
It's all about language law.
Or was it about torturinganother group of people?
The Democrats are torturing itsown people.
It has no identity, it has noface, it has no representation
of any kind that represents forthe people, by the people.

(05:41):
It's their pocketbook.
You know, recently Ilhan Omar isnow out in the press about.
She's a multi-zillionaire.
Press doesn't want to coverthat.
Nothing over here, abc, nbc, cbs, lots of black people
working there.
Why aren't those blackreporters from the View chomping

(06:02):
at the bit at this?
The View remains silent on atthe bit at this.
The View remains silent onTrump derangement syndrome.
Chicago is burning, ladies andgentlemen, chicago is burning.
Listen to my words If you thinkthe riots that stem from Floyd,
which was a wrongful death, andyou know what was wrong.

(06:25):
Where are those people?
Where's Black Lives Matter?
Besides spending their money onmillions of dollars on homes
and laundry items, where are thepeople that claim that they
represent black Americans inChicago?
They should be writing andburning the political offices to

(06:45):
the ground.
They are moms, there's dads,there's children's, there's
babies all being murdered andmassacred and shot, beaten,
robbed, and no one gives a shit.
How, you know what?
How do these people even getelected?
Is what?
Beyond me, how does the machinein this corrupt environment get

(07:09):
elected and reelected, andreelected?
When will this end, you know?
Is the National Guard, david, the solution?
Probably not, but what else isa person to do?
I mean, I can't believe thatwe're here talking about this

(07:29):
today when there's so much othernews in the media that I just
can't get off of this, david.
This is disgusting.

Speaker 1 (07:38):
You know in true democratic ways of doing things.
Should you be a Democrat or aformer Democrat politician or
whatever?
How dare you criticize thegreat religion of the Democratic
Party?
And it is like a religion whorun around, whether it's a King

(08:07):
Jeffries or whether it's NancyPelosi, or now they're deifying
AOC.
The party on the left shall notbe criticized, doesn't matter
what they do, stuart.
What's interesting is LoriLightfoot, the former mayor of
Chicago, who turned Chicago intoa shit show and a half during
her reign of disaster.
Look at her city, look at hercity, and she has the audacity

(08:29):
to criticize Donald Trump thathe is.
It's mental, like that.
He's got a mental issue.
The current mayor, mayor BrandonJohnson, warned the president,
him and Governor Jamie Pritzker.
They warned the president notto interfere.
Imagine, imagine, imagine.
Imagine.
You tell your boss, the CEO ofa company you don't come into my

(08:51):
department, you have no rightin my department.
That's what they did.
They told the CEO of the UnitedStates you can't come here,
don't interfere.
It's not for you to do it, youhave no rights.
Now the thing is is that I don'tknow the Constitution well
enough, but listening to themessaging is don't touch our

(09:12):
city, we are OK, and every daysomeone dies of a murder, and
every day someone is, you know, mugged, and every day.
I mean, for God's sakes, isthere any sense, common sense?
No, because the media in thatarea has done a wonderful job of

(09:34):
painting the Republicans asthese extreme racist, anti-black
, anti-democracy kind of folksand, as a result, within the
communities there that arevoting, they're being told,
they're being brainwashed, thatthe only solution is the
solution they've been going with.

(09:54):
It's their groundhog day.
We've talked about this.
It's just ongoing, god forbid, god forbid.
You should look at analternative Right Now.
What's crazy is that thingshave evolved.
I would have told you, maybe 20years ago, maybe, but you've
had two straight mayors who areAfrican American, who should

(10:17):
have done nothing but save theircommunities worse.
They made life worse in thosecommunities for their own people
, and yet they blame you and mebecause we're Republicans,
conservatives, call it whateveryou want.
Point the finger.
Don't look at me, don't blameme.

(10:38):
Always blame the other guy.
That's the policy beingimplemented by this party, by
this group of people.
So every day when someone goesto the morgue for being shot,
it's not.
Don't ever blame the Democrats.
They're never wrong.
And so now you have one city.
You have a city in WashingtonDC that has been safer, cleaner,

(11:03):
better, but you don't want tosee the National Guard.
Then do something about it.
You have a police force.
Do something about it, but no,what you'd rather do is nothing.
And, by the way, stuart, itisn't limited to cities like
Chicago.
You have a lot of other bluecities.
We have cities in Canada thatare falling in the same pattern
as in the United Statesleft-leaning cities telling

(11:25):
police officers don't do yourjob, don't do your job.
Leading cities telling policeofficers don't do your job,
don't do your job.
It's highly politicized, because those are the people who
are going to vote in that mayor.
Don't arrest more people.
I'm afraid to lose a vote.
This is the mindset of thepeople.
These are the people thatyou've elected and they're
telling you trust me.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
Yeah, you know.
When the government says we'rehere to help, we have a cliche
we've been using that existedbefore we stole it.
When the government comes tosay we're here to help run, run
run.

Speaker 1 (12:02):
Obama slammed Trump for using the National Guard.
He says it's a dangerous trend.
What are you afraid of,president Obama?
What are you afraid of?
Are you afraid of law and order?
Are you afraid that we're goingto uncover, that people are
going to uncover the truth, justlike Doge?
Like Doge uncovered all of your, like so many of the skeletons

(12:23):
in your closet.
What are you afraid of?
Are you afraid that suddenlythere's going to be a discovery
that you know what we canactually make the streets safe
in our cities?
What are you afraid of, mrPresident, you had eight years
in government.
You did nothing to save cities.
You did nothing to do anything.

(12:44):
You, mr Biden, for four years.
None of you are doing anything.
Now there are Republicangovernments too, too, that
didn't do anything.
They sat there and they watchedas well.
But here's a president who saysI don't care about anything.
I care about law and order, Icare about safety of the people,
and what he's exposing is thatthe Democratic Party has no

(13:04):
interest in your safety.
They'd rather run around andtalk about all these fringe
issues and not about your safety.
When I heard that thisso-called crime thing in the
United States is a made-uppolicy by the Republicans.
That's what the Republicanswould be like Like a made-up.
Seriously, what is wrong withthe Democrats?

(13:28):
You guys forgot what you wereelected to do.
You were elected to protect thepeople.
You know that vow, that oathyou took.
You're neglecting it.
I think you should go to jail.

Speaker 2 (13:40):
If you can't keep the oath, you should go to jail I
you know what, david, and inaddition to that, we have all
these federal judges trying tointervene and stop and supersede
.
I think that their emails andtheir phone records should be
turned over to the public, because if, in fact, they are

(14:02):
being ordered by a party to dothis, they're no longer doing
the job on the bench and theyshould be removed.
But that's for another day, david, and another rant, because
I have a way on resolving thejudicial issue in the united
states okay.

Speaker 1 (14:19):
Well, we'll hold off on that for another day, but in
the meantime, ladies andgentlemen, we're done, we're fed
up and we'll continue to bitchand complain until people
actually wake up and dosomething.
Folks, there's an electioncoming up in November which is
going to change and rattle you.
If you don't vote right, and Idon't mean right wing or left

(14:39):
wing, if you don't vote in theright way, your city can end up
being in flames.

Speaker 2 (14:46):
David wrap it up.
