What if the next mayor of New York is more interested in ideology than actually showing up for work? In the latest episode of The Rant Network, we tear into Zoran Mamdani’s record, questioning his absences, his push for massive pay raises, and his radical proposals on policing, housing, and education. We argue that beneath the polished smile lies a dangerous agenda that could reshape New York City in ways voters may regret. Whether you agree or not, this is unfiltered, unapologetic commentary you won’t want to miss.

SPEAKER_01 (00:02):
Oh, it's a Yodel.
And I got under David skin inthe green room maybe a bit.
But there's nothing new aboutthat.
I've been doing that for about45 years.
Oh, we haven't been in the greenroom for 45 years, though.
But you know what's reallyfunny?
I don't think Zora Mandami is 45years old either.

(00:24):
But he wants to be the mayor ofthe biggest city in the world.
Ladies and gentlemen, if youhaven't followed any election
politics, there is a clown.
I call him a clown.
His name is Zora Mandami.
And Zora Mandami wants to be thefirst socialist to run the

(00:47):
largest city in the world.
I mean, in Canada or in theUnited States, not Canada.
But I can honestly tell you, people in New York are just
starting to feel disenfranchisedabout going to the election
poll, feeling that he may justtake it and my vote won't count.

(01:09):
Hey everybody, my name's StuartBrisgell.
That's David Solomon.
This is the Rand Network, ago-to podcast, unfiltered,
unapologetic discussion, hostedby us every Monday, Wednesday,
Friday, noon Eastern over thelast five years.
We tackle a diverse range oftopics with candid conversation,
bold opinions, whether it'sbreaking down the latest
headlines, exploring popculture, debating politics, or

(01:31):
delving into complexities ofmodern life.
This is a platform for everypercent perspective.
Grab a seat, settle in.
We're gonna come for you, ZoraMandani in the word wingle.
All right.
This guy, you know, I keepseeing his smile, I keep hearing

(01:51):
his voice, and all I want to dois throw up.
You know, there's somepoliticians that just bring the
best out of me.
And you know what, David?
The best out of me is me gettinga little vicious and a little
fun.
But, you know, for this topic,I'm gonna opine and send them
over to you because if we talkabout affordable housing, cost

(02:14):
of living, public safety, healthcare, climate justice,
education, and economic justice,I think I'm gonna just sort of
smack my head against themicrophone.
All right, David.

SPEAKER_00 (02:25):
Oh, wow.
Okay.
Well, look, ladies andgentlemen, here is the situation
at hand.
I'm gonna ask you all aquestion.
If you had an employee whodidn't show up to work on a
regular basis, what would you dowith that employee?
And what if your employeedemanded that same one came to

(02:47):
you and demanded, demanded a payraise, a significant pay raise,
because he believes that that'swhat he's worth.
What would you say?
On both occasions, what theheck?
That's Soren Mamdani.
Sorin Mamdani did not show towork in the legislature.
He's absent, didn't present anybills.

(03:08):
Sound familiar?
AOC?
He, you know, and then he whatdoes he do?
He he votes for the biggest payraise any representative has
ever gotten.
And this week during the great, the last debate before the
election, former governor Cuomowent after him and asked him,
like, what the heck?

(03:30):
It's amazing how the man wantsto represent the poor, but then
demands a serious pay raise.
Hmm, but cut with caught caughtwith the fingers in the cookie
jar, right?
So where does he stand?
He present he constantly talksabout being a progressive, and
he's gonna help the people, buthe cozies up with the people who

(03:53):
actually are anti-gay.
He calls himself a progressive, and he's gonna support those
rights.
But his best buddies hate andare anti-gay.
They're also the kind of peoplewho support terrorism, folks.
Remember?
They're the kind of people whotried to destroy New York City

(04:15):
in 1993.
We talked about this the otherday, I know.
But after the debate, thequestion becomes why does this
guy think he's right for thejob?
And folks, I I I it what Stuartsaid at the beginning is what
what's what's appalling.
We looked at the surface of thisguy, young, good-looking fellow,

(04:37):
talks well, says the rightwords.
But folks, take off the sh takeoff the beautiful shine, and
what you find underneath isrotten in hell.
The man has really, what is hetrying to do?
Is he really care about does hereally care about New York?
If he did, show us a trackrecord.

(05:01):
Stuart, I have a friend whosebrother is in the Albany
legislature.
He's one of the, you know, andand when I asked him years ago,
what is the responsibility?
You know, and he said, look, hisresponsibilities, he's gotta
show up, he's gotta presentbills, and he's gotta vote.
He's gotta represent hisconstituents.

SPEAKER_01 (05:23):
Yep.

SPEAKER_00 (05:24):
What was Zoran Mamdani doing?
Zoran Mamdani is incredible.
You know, they talk about DonaldTrump being a used car salesman
in the way he acts and the wayhe carries himself.
Zoran Mamdani is a luxury usedcar salesman.

(05:45):
He says the right thing and he'strying to sell you a Mercedes at
the cost of a you know of afiat.
He's trying to tell you thathe's gonna bring growth, you
know, government-controlledgrocery stores, he's gonna bring
in rent control, he's gonna doall these things, but he's not
telling you how it's gonna workor how he's gonna pay for it.

(06:06):
His plan is shoddy and full ofholes like Swiss cheese, but it
sounds good, and he has a lot ofsupport from people, young
people, who weren't alive atSeptember 11th, 2001, or for
that matter, for the 1993 WorldTrade Center bombing.

(06:27):
These are people that he'sappealed to.
He's gone to the teachers'unions that are staunchly
anti-Semite, other unions thatare staunchly anti-Semite, and
has the goal to ask that he willwant to keep the current police
chief in place.
But oh, by the way, I'm lookingto cut funding to the police.

(06:48):
That's exactly what New Yorkneeds.

SPEAKER_01 (06:50):
Oh no, he he wants to change the 911 to be the
decision maker whether or not wehave to send a policeman or a
social worker.

SPEAKER_00 (07:02):
A social worker.
Yeah.

SPEAKER_01 (07:04):
Okay.
Yeah.
I listen, I've I've met a lot oflaw enforcement.
One of the most dangerous callsto ever go to is a domestic
dispute.
And you can't identify domesticdispute from Swiss cheese
either.
And yet, this guy thinks that heis going to be able to manage a
system that's going to controlthat.

(07:26):
Now, again, this is a guy who'sbeen anti-police from the very
beginning.
He's been very much anti-Israel,wants to arrest Netanyahu.
He wants to take the money fromthe rich, wants to take white
neighborhoods, make them paymore.
He is like against America overand over and over again.
I have not heard a singleAmerican or even Western

(07:49):
philosophy.
Everything is right out of afrigging socialist communist
book or out of the Middle Eastfrom a seventh-century religion.
He won't even condemn the actionof October the 7th that we spoke
about for like almost two years.
It's atrocious.
This guy is on a level wherethey talk about Nazi, and the

(08:15):
Democrats like to call theRepublicans Nazis and about how
they promoted hate.
This guy is the definition of itin the extreme socialist party.
I mean, I can't, I mean, I can'teven smile as much as this guy
does.
And I'm a happy guy.
David, if a New Yorker doesn'tgo and vote for anyone else

(08:40):
other than him and decides tostay home, they casted a vote
for him.

SPEAKER_00 (08:45):
Oh, it's what's basically scary, Stuart, is that
like a lot of other municipalelections, there's not a big
huge turnout.
And that's the problem.
And in this election, in whichyou have a very controversial
individual, and you know whatthis guy loves to do?
What and here's here's histhing: when you go after him,

(09:07):
what does he do?
You're going after me onlybecause I'm Muslim.
Let's play the race card, let'sdo that again.
Because that's what young peoplehear.
The young people are like, oh,he's a racist, Islamophobic.
That's the word they like touse.
Islamophobic, fear of Muslims.

(09:31):
It's bullshit.
It's not about a fear ofMuslims, it's a fear of what
this guy, particularly ZoranMamdani, wants to do in New York
City.

SPEAKER_01 (09:42):
Yep.

SPEAKER_00 (09:43):
Did he call for the arrest of Vladimir Putin?
No.
Did he call for the arrest ofany African leader
assassinating, you know, youknow, mur massacring Christians?
Nope.

SPEAKER_01 (09:58):
How about Assad?
How about Assyrian?
How about the Ayatollah Hume?
Let's get an arrest for theAyatollah.

SPEAKER_00 (10:06):
No, Stuart, Stuart.
Why would you want to arrestyour brothers and sisters?
These are, you know, but I'mtalking about other war
criminals.
I guess it doesn't make adifference because the only one
that matters and the only onethat keeps reappearing in the
election is Israel.
If you haven't figured it out,the man accuses you of

(10:29):
everything that he is.
He's a racist.
He hates, he is anti-gay, he isanti-capitalism, he's
anti-American.
He hates what you stand for.
And that smile smuggle.
That smug smile, that Stuartwants to correct me, simply put,

(10:52):
guys, is his way of saying,Gotcha.
You've been caught up with thewoke ideology.
You've been caught up in thissocialist love affair that
doesn't exist.
The sad part, Stuart, is placeslike Columbia University, he
wants to encourage more campusaction, not discourage what has

(11:15):
gone on for the last two years.
He loves the idea of anarchy.
And he is going to do what'sexactly going on right now in
many parts of the UK, France,Belgium, Spain, and other
countries.
He wants to bring you towardsSharia law.

(11:36):
It's not there today, but it'scoming.
And it's going to affect you.
Now, yes, the New York City hasa two-term limit.
Thank God, because you've hadsuch crazy mayors that it's not
a bad idea to only have atwo-term limit.
Hey, Congresspeople, you shouldalso have a limit, but let's not
go there.
But Zoran Mamdani can doexcessive damage over the next

(12:00):
eight years.
And someone asked me, Stuart, like what?
And I said, I'll tell you what.
Could you imagine the New YorkStock Exchange picking up and
leaving New York City?
Could you imagine all of thesefinancial institutions with
their heads' offices?
Many still left, a lot of themleft New York City already, but
many are gone away.

(12:22):
Look, you already have a massexodus of people who are living
in New Jersey and Connecticutbecause they don't want to live
in New York City.
They don't like what they seeand where this is going.
It's not about money.
Yes, there is a cost of livingthat is higher.
There's no doubt about it.
But these people are commutinghours to go into Manhattan for

(12:42):
work and into New York City toavoid the lifestyle that New
York City promotes.
It's not, look, as a touriststeward, you and I, we go there,
we'll go to Broadway, we'llcheck out Manhattan, we'll go to
the Statue of Liberty.
We see the beauty of New YorkCity.
But when you live there and yougo into the subway and you're

(13:04):
scared that you might be killed, maybe pushed in front of a car,
or you're gonna be mugged.
But now that's not good enough.
You've already had people likeLeticia James doing stupid shit,
and you've had other people dostupid shit in this city.
How much worse do you want thisto get?

(13:25):
Because I think Zorhan Mamdaniis taking New York City into an
abyss.
He's gonna take New York Cityand he's gonna like I mean I
mean, I saw this, and it's a sadthing.
He's gonna put a hijab on theStatue of Liberty.
If that's what you want to turn, this and this is not
Islamophobia, and and don'tthrow that at me right now.

(13:47):
He wants to change the New YorkCity culture.
It doesn't work in the US, andit shouldn't work in New York
City, and he's gonna try to makeit work and he's gonna break
you.
Is that what you want?
So on November 4th, people, ifyou think it's not imperative to

(14:09):
go vote, oh big time.
It's huge.
And not like the othercandidates are gold, believe you
me.
But of the alternatives, I havea you your choice is Zorhan
Mamdani, a guy who's about toruin your city in the way in a
way you will never recover from,or the other two candidates.

(14:32):
Stuart, I don't know about you,but I don't think I want to call
New York City anymore El NewYork City, like all right, you
know, guys, on that note, it'sFriday.

SPEAKER_01 (14:44):
