Today, we’re tackling a disturbing trend that’s becoming harder and harder to ignore: the selective silence of the media and political establishment when the facts don’t fit their narrative. Specifically, we’re diving into a recent and horrific incident out of Minnesota — where two children tragically lost their lives at the hands of a shooter who identified as transgender.

While the details are clear and heartbreaking, what’s even more shocking is the way this story has been treated — or rather, ignored — by major outlets and political figures, especially those on the left. The same media that rushes to frame certain events with headlines that fit a pre-approved agenda is suddenly silent. Why?

Speaker 1 (00:03):
Oh, david, you know, the only thing I like better
than that sound coming everyMondayay, wednesday, friday, new
year is, uh, fridays.

(00:27):
You know what?
Today is both that sound andit's friday.
You know there was a verytragic shooting that occurred
and if you haven't caught it, Idon't know what rock you live
under, but in Minneapolis somederanged trans psychopath

(00:51):
decided to shoot up a churchschool at a point of prayer.
If this was a mosque, it wouldbe Islamophobia Synagogue.
It would be IslamophobiaSynagogue, would be
anti-Semitism.
But it was a church.

(01:12):
Catholic spring Wasn't a hatecrime, wasn't a psychopath
transgender lunatic.
It wasn't a crazy psychoDemocrat.
It wasn't a deranged lunatic ofany kind.
It was an unfortunate set ofcircumstances.

(01:36):
It was the gun's fault.
That's what you hear if youlisten to the Jen Saki's, the
mayor's, even the police chiefof Minneapolis, or Tampon Tim.
It can't be mental health.
It can't be the mental healthof people that have real,

(01:59):
serious issues.
It's got to be the victims.
It's the Catholics' fault forbeing Catholics.
It's the little Christian boysand Christian teachers that are
responsible for turning thispsychopath into a raged lunatic.
Welcome everybody, welcome tothe Rant Network.
It's your go-to podcast forunfiltered, unapologetic

(02:22):
discussions hosted by myself, stuart Briskell, with my
lifelong friend, david Sullivan.
We tackle this diverse range oftopics in candid conversation
with bold opinions, not just topoint the obvious out but
possibly to enlighten you on,maybe, how both sides of the
aisle are talking about the sameissue.

(02:43):
And the issue is that bothsides don't talk about these
issues, which is why dave andI've been doing this for five
plus years.
So grab a seat, settle in.

Speaker 2 (02:53):
This is going to be from every side, david stewart,
you started off by commentingabout some of the people.
Let's go back for just a second.
I was mortified, stuart Like, simply mortified on Wednesday
when I heard about the shootingthe school shooting let's talk
about it, it's kids.

(03:14):
I'm so mortified to hear thatkids were shot and allegedly,
this shooter came in with threedifferent types of I had a rifle
, a gun and what else shotindiscriminately through a
window, killing two kids sittingin a pew and I'm sit.

(03:36):
And then I'm sitting here andI'm going.
What for?
Why?
What could have possessed anindividual to go and shoot
children indiscriminately?
Well, when the police showedthe messaging on this person's
gun kill Donald Trump.

(03:57):
Israel must fall the hatefulmessages on the gun on the gun,
let alone the manifesto thatthey found later on the gun.
I was mortified.
This is what you've become, you've created, and don't always
throw me mental healthbusinesses.

(04:17):
It's always the same thing.
Why is it that this person wentinto a Catholic church to shoot
children?
Because the messaging thatcomes out time and time again by
the left, whether it's throughmedia or social media, is hate,

(04:37):
certain people.
Now you brought up anotherthing.
Had this been in a mosque or ina synagogue, we would call it
racism.
The left doesn't want to callit racism.
Why not?
You are going after it?
Or a hate crime.
You went purposely to aCatholic church to shoot people.

(04:59):
When you have that kind of planand mindset, there's hate
involved and let's downplay thehate.
Once again, the left wants todistance itself from the person
that they've created.
Listen, the right creates theirown nutcases created Listen,

(05:19):
the right creates their ownnutcases.
I'm not saying when a whitesupremacist goes and shoots, you
know, black people in a churchnumber of years ago.
I agree totally.
This is wrong.
I condemned that years ago andI'm condemning this even just as
much.
But I'm so goddamn tired of thepeople like Chuck Schumer who
right away blamed Donald Trumpfor lack of gun control.
Let me remind you that afterthe church shooting in South

(05:41):
Carolina, president Obama had achance and Nikki Haley was the
governor at the time and sheappealed to President Obama
Now's the time to bring in someform of gun control.
And nothing happened.
President Biden tried andbrought something in fine, but
for God's sakes, it's always hey, you were in charge, you're at

(06:01):
fault.
So am I sickened to hear thatthe mayor of Minneapolis is
downplaying what makes peoplefeel good.
You're supposed to protect yourpeople and clearly you've
learned nothing from GeorgeFloyd about protecting your own
people that you create hate bymaking statements.
And when the maniapolis mayorcan says, what's the point of

(06:23):
prayer?
It didn't help these children.
My god, I I'm trying tounderstand.
Do you have any understandingof the people and you understand
now why the left is distancing, distancing itself more and more
and more from real Americans?
Because America is made up ofis a melting pot of a bunch of

(06:44):
people which includes Catholicswho want to pray, muslims who
want to pray, jews who want topray, buddhists who want to pray
, other religions who want topray.
And if you're telling me thatprayer is terrible, nonsensical,
irrelevant, let me quote JenPsaki on what she wrote on X
Stuart.
Prayer is not freaking enough.

(07:06):
Prayers does not end schoolshootings.
Prayers do not make parentsfeel safe sending their kids to
school.
Prayer does not bring thesekids back enough with the
thoughts and prayers.
Thank you, jen.
Not bring these kids backenough with the thoughts and
prayers.
Thank you, jen.
You, you know, with thatstatement, showed what the left

(07:27):
believes.
It.
But then to make this about, ofcourse, donald Trump, when kids
are getting shot in their pewsat a Catholic school mass and
your crime plan is to haveNational Guard put mulch down
around DC.
Maybe rethink your strategy,I'm sorry.
Who is responsible for thestate of Minnesota?
Who's responsible for the cityof Minneapolis?
You tell the president he hasno jurisdiction in your cities

(07:49):
and towns and then you blame himfor what he does in DC.
This is the incredulity that Icannot begin to understand.
Have they actually got out oftheir bomb shelters and gone out
into real life and talked topeople?

Speaker 1 (08:07):
You know, david, I want to point something out.
You know I am not the guy who'sgoing to be known in this rant
as the history buff, but I'dlike to remind people and I've
brought this up a number oftimes, you have my and your

(08:30):
analogy how the Democratic Partyis very much like the Soviet
Party.
Communist, david.
You know the Soviet religiouspersecution was a systematic
state sponsor to eliminatereligion and to promote atheism
through various campaigns, either through legislation or

(08:51):
through mockery and blame.
That was from 1917 to 1991.
It involved closing churches, places of worship, assassinating
, imprisoning religious leadersand believers and confiscating
church property.

(09:18):
That was the Soviet Union.
They wanted a state of atheism,an ideological goal.
To believe in the party and theparty as a religion Sounds
eminently just no different thanthe Nazis of World War II, who
also wanted to systematicallydestroy the religion and make
their own.
Pray to me.
I'm your God, I am the leaderof a party.
Jen Psaki, schumer, tampon, tim, they're only proving our

(09:41):
argument because I'm going toinclude you in it.
Uh, and furthers are proof thatthat's their ultimate goal.
They want a Soviet styledcountry.
They don't want America, theydon't want freedom, they want
communism, they want socialism, they want totalitarianism.

(10:04):
Rules for me, not for them.

Speaker 2 (10:07):
But it's okay, I get the philosophy and I'm not going
to debate with you, sorry, thehistory it's irrelevant.
I'll tell you what isirrelevant.
What is relevant, I'm sorry.
What do the people want?
So I spoke to a gentleman, stuart, who lives in Michigan,
who also sends his child to aCatholic school, and you know we

(10:28):
were talking about it and youknow he said to me he goes.
The parents were gathered in totalk about the security that's
being put in front of thechurches now and the Catholic
schools.
So I asked him I said is thisthe solution to the problem?
Is this the solution that youwant to have?
Rather than solve the problem, let's put more security in front
of, you know, churches, synagogues and mosques.
Is this the right?

(10:50):
Is this it, stuart?
The left is sitting here sayingnot my problem.
The left is ignoring and I'msaying the left, because there
are liberal Democrats who arevery much like this is wrong and
we need to fix it.
And there are several Democratswho are also, who are Catholics

(11:10):
or devout religious individualsin their own communities and
they think this is disgusting.
Religious individuals in theirown communities and they think
this is disgusting.
You don't downplay anotherperson's religion and you don't
downplay this whole thing,stuart.

(11:31):
This was a hate crime throughand through.
Let me just tell you, accordingto Kash Patel this person
because of the transgendernature, I'm not going to get
into that According to Patelleft multiple anti-Catholic,
anti-religious references, bothin his manifesto and written on
his firearms.
I'm quoting Patel.
Subject expressed hatred andviolence towards Jewish people,
writing Israel must fall freePalestine.
And using explicit languagerelated to the Holocaust.

(11:52):
He wrote an explicit call forviolence against President Trump
on a firearm magazine.
And you're sitting here talkingabout Trump.
You're sitting here talkingabout prayers.
Don't help.
What is this?
The left has created this hate, this visceral hate that leads
people to kill children, andyou're sitting here bitching

(12:16):
about the National Guard in DC.
You are beyond fucked up, jenPsaki.
You guys are all lunatics, andthe reason I said the left and
not Democrats is because I don'tbelieve that all Democrats are
this stupid.
I've met many.
They're totally disgusted bywhat happened, but when you go
past that line, stuart, fromnormal or some sort of sanity to

(12:40):
stupid and insane like the JenPsaki's, you should be taken
down.
You should be taken out as aleader in your community,
whatever for crying out loud.
17 people were injured, 14children, two dead, an 8 and a
10-year-old and you're going tofight like you usually do.
Let's go after Trump.

(13:00):
You want to know why you can'twin an election?
This is my political rant.
You want to know why you can'twin an election?
Because you've completelydisconnected completely
disconnected with reality andwhat your population wants.
If you want to create acommunity of haters, of
anti-religious zealots, of great, please leave America and go

(13:23):
find another country to do that.
I'm sure there is a lovelytribe in Africa that will take
you in, because they're killingChristians all over the world.
Go join them.

Speaker 1 (13:32):
Yeah, yeah, mutilating children, you know,
in the African countries, withcrazy surgery on what do they
call?

Speaker 2 (13:42):
it yeah.

Speaker 1 (13:44):
We can go on and on, david, but you know what?
This is a long weekend.
It's Labor Day here in theUnited States and I don't know
we're going to talk about Monday.
I think I need to talk about it.

Speaker 2 (13:55):
You know we'll see what Monday is, but I'll tell
you something.
Know we're going to talk aboutmonday, I think.
I think you know we'll see whatmonday is, but I'll tell you
something.
The um, the conservative familyresearch council, reported that
last month that at least 415attacks against 383 churches in
43 states occurred 2024.
Now I'm not comparing thisanti-semitism or islamic or
anti-muslim relate, because I'mdenying I'm not using

(14:16):
islamophobia anymore.
I'm using it's like you knowany, any religion, whatever.
But think about it, people, that every day there was an
attack On a church somewhere In43 states Last year.
Let that sink in.
