SPEAKER_01 (00:02):
Ah, here we go.
Yeah.
The election in uh New York Citydown the road.
Uh yesterday uh was a debate.
New York City.
You have in three corners, youhave Curtis Silva, the
(00:25):
Republican candidate who hasdone very, very, very, very
little uh as the Republicancandidate.
You have Andrew Cuomo, theformer New York governor,
disgraced governor of New York, who wants to be the mayor now.
And then you have Zoran Mandani.
And if you've been payingattention, you know, you've got
(00:48):
two sides to this, this, this, this story.
You either love Zorhan Mamdanibecause he's gonna save New
York, or you're petrified ofZoran Mamdani because he's gonna
sink New York and take the tryto take the United States with
him.
It is actually fascinating thatwhen you actually do the
homework, and unfortunately,Stewart in elections, many
(01:10):
people love just to look at theheadlines.
They just want to look at thesocial media bites and get
caught up and swept up in hischarm and his in his ideas.
But when you start to dig deep, you realize what Zorhan Mamdani
really stands for.
He stands for hate and he standsfor destruction.
And worse than that, he wants tobring what the United States
(01:32):
fought for decades.
He wants to bring communism toAmerica.
Welcome back, everybody, to thenew Rant Network.
My name is David Solomon.
He is Stuart Brisgell.
The Rant Network is an unedited, uncensored, unfiltered, and
unapologetic podcast in which wetalk about politics ad nauseum.
We are going into the corners ofthe world and corners of areas
where, frankly, people don'tlike to talk about.
(01:54):
Well, maybe this one they'retalking about a little bit more.
So sit back today and relax aswe dive into yet another crazy
scenario in the reality gamethat's known as the United
States of America.
You know, Stuart, New York, andyou know, when you came to New
York, and my parents came to NewYork in 1964.
Uh, they they came through NewYork into Canada, and you saw
(02:18):
Lady Liberty at the front.
You know, they came in on theboat, you know, they came in and
they realized that what NorthAmerica brought was opportunity,
the escape from hell.
Now, my parents didn't escapefrom hell, but many of the
people who came through, youknow, New York were coming from
(02:38):
countries where it wasmiserable.
Socialism, communism ruinedlives.
And yet, the United States wasthe beacon of hope.
Post-World War II was the beaconof hope, pre-World War II,
beacon of hope.
And yet, for some reason, in thelast few years, this so-called
(03:00):
beacon of hope is being beatenup because socialism is a better
opportunity and a better optionthan capitalism.
And you've got people like ZoranMandani, who not only wants to
bring his brand of socialism toNew York, but he wants to bring
his old-world hate with him.
Stuart, what's your view on thefuture of New York City after
(03:23):
this fall?
SPEAKER_02 (03:25):
Well, first of all,
I believe if uh Zoran gets
elected, he represents the bestreal estate boom for the state
of Florida in its history.
And and there's a lot of peoplewho are cheering for his
success.
You know, let's reflect.
(03:46):
The left runs around callingRepublicans Nazis, the
Republicans run around callingDonald Trump or any significant
figure Adolf Hitler.
Well, let's talk about AdolfHitler and how in two years the
(04:07):
Nazi Party successfullydismantled the democracy in
Germany and consolidated it tototal dictorial power.
And he didn't do it with force, actually, he did it with
charisma.
What is a charismatic person saywhen Mandavi was specifically
(04:30):
asked, will you ask Hamas to laydown its weapons?
Now, the immediate response of aterrorist organization by a
Western leader, uh, where theorganization is listed as a
terrorist organization is yes, Ithink that Hamas should lay down
(04:56):
its weapons.
But the crafty guy by ZoraMadani says, I think everyone
should lay down their weapons.
Now, does that answer thequestion, David?
SPEAKER_00 (05:08):
No, of course not.
We know we know he won't answerthe question.
SPEAKER_02 (05:12):
Now, now you want to
really go to the next question.
When you talk about atrocities,he says and brings up that five
Ghazans were shot by Israelis.
Brings it up out of the leftfield, not even a question posed
to him.
(05:32):
But what he fails to mention noracknowledge in the interview,
the dozens of Palestinian Gazansbeing executed in the street
with bullets to the back oftheir head.
Now, would you think that wouldbe a significant newsworthy
(05:56):
point that maybe you shouldlet's go back now?
Let's digress because I don'tneed David to answer that
question because I know hisanswer.
Let's go back now to how AdolfHitler did what he did.
He had massive construction, public works projects like the
Autobahn.
(06:17):
He reduced unemployment and gavethe appearance of restored
prosperity, right?
He gave thousands of people ajob and believed he created a
major engine for economicgrowth, safety, and
affordability, and createdthousands of jobs.
(06:39):
Now, doesn't the German laborfront, which was the name of the
pardon, sound so eerily similarto Mandami.
David, yes, no.
SPEAKER_01 (06:53):
Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02 (06:54):
Oh, yeah, yeah.
So here we have the largest cityin America or North America, as
David so eloquently put it, abeacon of commerce, right?
The word is commerce in America, and probably one of the top in
(07:16):
the world.
But the banks are running andhedging their bets in Texas.
The rich are hedging their betsin Florida because they're
scared shitless of what this guyis going to do in New York.
(07:39):
So Dershowitz took themicrophone a couple days ago and
said he prays for his failure inall aspects.
Because if he has any success, this will eerily become the
(08:00):
cancer across America, which isexactly what Marxist communists
want.
And I don't see a candidate toderail this narcissistic,
egotistical, morally defunctidiot.
(08:27):
I don't, I can't call himanything else.
SPEAKER_00 (08:30):
He's an idiot.
SPEAKER_02 (08:32):
I think he's a
raving lunatic.
SPEAKER_01 (08:34):
No, no, no, no, no.
There's a difference between araving lunatic and an idiot.
He's actually brilliant becausehe did exactly what you just
said.
He's caught people's attention.
Look what he's offering for.
He wants to freeze uh rentprices, he wants to offer free
busing.
He wants to, you know,city-owned grocery stores.
SPEAKER_02 (08:54):
Ah, David, that's
the question.
You mentioned a few things.
How many of those items in anycountry have proven to be a
successful Stuart?
SPEAKER_01 (09:07):
You're you're
assuming that the electorate
actually did their homework.
And that's how I started therent.
Nobody's doing their homework.
Because in 2020, this attempt atfree busing was tried in
Washington State.
It didn't work.
It did the opposite effect.
Rent, you know, this whole ideaof city-owned grocery stores
didn't work.
Didn't work in the Soviet Union, won't work here.
(09:29):
Defund the police, which helikes to throw out there.
You've got a crime problem inNew York City.
What you're gonna do is you'regonna bring New York City back
to the 1970s when no one wantedto walk the streets of New York
at night.
So what he's calling for, and Iand I, and with all due respect
to Mamdani and his you know richeducation, you know, equal
distribution of, you know, he'sis his ideas sound wonderful on
(09:54):
paper.
And the same way the Democratsvilified Trump, saying all these
are wonderful, but they're notreal.
You see, the Trump economicpolicies do make a difference to
everybody.
This is going after a certainbase store.
This is going after a very leftwoke-leaning base that loves
(10:14):
this 33-year-old guy.
They don't care that he's rich, they don't care that he went to
a private school, they don'tcare that he's got a silver
spoon in his mouth, and theydon't care that he's talking
from both ends of his ass.
What they're they're what theylove about him is that the
policies mean I don't have topay for anything.
We've been here before.
When you say to people that thetaxpayers, and I use that word
(10:37):
on purpose, don't have to payanything is a lie.
Because he wants to useracial-based taxation on
homeowners.
The whiter you are, the moreyou're gonna pay.
Oh, that's an interestingphilosophy.
Where do you think people aregonna run to?
Connecticut, New Jersey, they'regonna get out of New York City.
You already see an exodus out ofit, Stuart.
(10:58):
You know, once upon a time, thecity of New York was filled with
African Americans and Jews.
They're not there anymore.
There's a reason.
And it's the percentages ofthese have gone down
significantly.
And don't just say it'simmigration, it's people are
leaving.
You started your rant by sayingFlorida's gonna boom.
Hey, Texas, Florida, thesouthern states all boom.
(11:22):
You know why?
They went to places where thereare no taxes, they went to
places where they can actuallyinvest their money and make
money.
This is this is capitalism,baby.
This is what it's all about.
But instead, what Mamdani wantsto do is to rip Donald Trump.
Everything Donald Trump, hewouldn't give him credit for at
all, you know, about you know, releasing the hostages and the
ceasefire.
(11:42):
But the interesting thing is,Stuart, this is municipal
politics.
And that the city of New Yorkneeds to focus on municipal
politics.
But Zora Mamdani, to get thisbase, wants to arrest Netanyahu
if he comes to New York City, criticizes Donald Trump about
his about you know his foreignaffairs policy.
Do you know any other mayor inthe United States that continues
(12:04):
to make comments about Trump'sforeign policy?
You don't, because it's nottheir role.
The role of the mayor is to makethem is to take care of the city
that they're that they've beenelected to.
(12:25):
But but but the Israel, youknow, Palestine or Israel Hamas
situation, it's none ofMamdani's business.
But here's this guy who's noteven a Democrat, by the way.
He's running on the Democraticticket, but like Bernie Sanders,
he's not a Democrat.
Here's a guy who's coming aroundand telling the whole world what
(12:45):
he's doing to Netanyahu.
And there's a wonder why Jewsare petrified of them.
Jews, according to a stat, makeup nine percent now of New York.
There's no dent there.
But you want to see nine percentbecome five?
You want to see it become three?
Vote in Zoran Mamdani.
You want to see more people withjobs to offer people, you know,
(13:06):
leave New York City, vote forZoran Mam Dani.
That is the reality, Stuart.
And what you said was, you know,a beautiful history lesson about
what the Nazis did.
But let me tell you something.
Charisma can only take you sofar.
We saw this with many otherleaders.
Reality is what's he gonna do tothe city of New York?
And if you want to bring backNew York to 50 years ago, you
(13:29):
know, in in in and you want totake it from a city that
prospered and it was the beaconof America, and the everybody
around the world wanted to comevisit.
You want to take that awayagain?
Votes on Mandani.
SPEAKER_02 (13:43):
You know, David, I I
can't say it again.
I don't think he's gonna I thinkhe's brilliant.
SPEAKER_01 (13:52):
He's he's brilliant.
He's got people by the uh he'sgot people, he's got people
excited for him, he's got peoplevote wanting to vote for him,
he's got, you know, listen, wewe we've got people from all
ilks, you know, you know, Jews,African Americans, um, you name
it the the Latinos, the wholelike the go across the board.
(14:14):
They love what he says, but theyalso don't understand where he's
gonna take New York City.
And the Democrats, the worstpart is Mamdanny's pissed at the
Democrats that he can't get theendorsement.
You want to know why?
Because that's the next step totake the Democratic Party into
abyss.
You're gonna kill the DemocraticParty.
(14:35):
You're fighting AOC.
Poor Chucky Schumer is fightingAOC.
Poor, you know, the the youknow, Akeem Jeffries is is also
in being threatened by socialistcandidates.
Akeem Jeffries is beingthreatened, Stuart, by the
people who support Zora Mamdani.
Yep, the man is scary, andunfortunately, your point, there
(14:56):
is no really good candidate.
God help us, Stuart.
SPEAKER_02 (15:02):
You know, as they
say, last word goes to me.
SPEAKER_01 (15:06):
Go ahead.
SPEAKER_02 (15:08):
You know, we got
another debate in New York.
I watched the last debate.
You know, you can't yell fire ina movie theater over and over
and over again, unless you're inNew York City.
SPEAKER_01 (15:25):
But apparently, Zora
Mamdani can yell fire as often
as he wants, Stuart.
And people are gonna run withthe hoses and say, Where?
That's how dumb they become.
That's it, ladies and gentlemen, for another week of the Rent
Network.
We so appreciate your support.
We hope to see you again onMonday.
Have a wonderful weekend,everybody.
Cheers.
