don't you. Yes, that's what I tell you about that.

(00:31):
But I can't believe you. You let me to my
own devices. That's that's that's so cruel to do just
one day. Just I can't believe you would do that
to our listeners. Why why would you let Johnny do
this stuff?

Speaker 2 (00:45):
Fly solo?

Speaker 1 (00:47):
All right, Welcome in, Johnny and Val podcasting live atop
iHeart Mountain. A very cold, chilly, windy iHeart Mountain. Brutal
went outside this morning to walk the dog, and oh,
I was like, whoa, eh, it's it's it's cold, like
the Windshiel was.

Speaker 2 (01:07):
Like bitter when I was coming in, Like our parking
lot and sidewalks were solid ice when I came in
this morning. So I was walking real slow and you know, gentle,
and the wind was blowing so hard I couldn't walk
like it was pushing me back.

Speaker 1 (01:24):
That actually text me this morning said our parking lot
is icy. Be careful.

Speaker 3 (01:29):
Yeah, it was bad.

Speaker 1 (01:30):
And I was coming in on seventy nine seventy nine,
which is a main highway. It gets solid and I
hit some black eyes just for a quick little.

Speaker 3 (01:38):
I was like, whoa, yeah, be careful.

Speaker 1 (01:42):
All right? So where are we? December fifty three hundred
and fortieth day of the year. Twenty six days remain.
Four days until our very ends of Christmas show Monday night. Yay,
still got to work on the on the on the
script for our show.

Speaker 3 (01:58):
You better get on it.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
I know. Days until the first day of winter. It's
not even winter yet, vow, it's still fall. This is
fall weather.

Speaker 3 (02:07):
That's just not right.

Speaker 1 (02:08):
That's not right. Twenty days until Christmas. Today is Bathtub
Party Day. Oh, party in the bathtub Day of the
Ninja International Volunteer Day crompis not the night of crampis
which is that creepy thing that would follow St. Nicholas
into kids homes? Scary thing for bad kids?

Speaker 3 (02:29):
Is that an always been a thing?

Speaker 1 (02:32):
Yeah, it's it's actually like an old timey Yeah, I
never heard of it.

Speaker 3 (02:37):
Until that movie came out.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
Oh no, it's been around for a long long time.
But it's perfect for like.

Speaker 3 (02:42):
I grew up in a small town.

Speaker 1 (02:47):
I don't think Crampis could find Franklin Franklin, Pa. It's
it's it's too sweet of now. I grew up in
the mean streets of New Wilmington. You know the oh yeah,
oh yeah, tough tough gang like man. It was like
it was tough.

Speaker 3 (03:03):
I got out of the streets. What is it what
do they call their go crazy.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
Run springer. Yeah. You know what's funny is for people
who because I grew up around an Amish community, is
they would go into like we used to have a
shortstop pizza and pizza, Prima Pizza, and they would the
Amish would come in and they would put a like
a quarter into the jukebox and it didn't matter if

(03:35):
it was like a heavy rock song or a slow
dance song. They would dance their ass off because they
really didn't hear it. They didn't they probably not allowed.
They didn't know what a like a dance song is.
They just played music and danced whatever it is. It
was like, okay, National Blue Jeans Day, National Comfort Food Day.

(03:55):
What you go to comfort food?

Speaker 2 (04:00):
If I was making it, probably meet loafing mashed potatoes.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
Good one. Good one to National Communicate with your Kids Day,
National Commute you commute commute with your baby Day. Not
a good day to commute with your baby. No, no,
good luck. Hold on because it's icy Repeal Day, National
Soil Day, and date number seven for the Rodroy trivia
question coming up after Torio van roll Fine.

Speaker 4 (04:26):
At the end of the meal is I would ask
if they wanted any coffee or dessert, and one time
this lady said, yeah, I'll have an avocado. Do you
guys know what that is? Some people? Okay, I didn't
because what I said back to her, I was like,
you want an avocado? And she said yes, and I

(04:50):
was like, I don't think she does. I'm gonna say
this out loud again. I was like, you don't need
to bring you an avocado and she just waved me off,
you know, just that I'm done talking to the hell
hands And I remember just walking out to the dining
room so defeated. I was like, this can't be right.
There's no way is it what she wants? But I

(05:12):
just I didn't know what to do. I just presented
her in avocado and she was like, no, wrong, and I.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
Was like, I know, I.

Speaker 4 (05:21):
Knew it was wrong, tried it anyway. I didn't know.

Speaker 1 (05:27):
An avocado. I had to look it up. It's espresso
or coffee over gelato, Okay, not an avocado. Day seven
for the trivia question. Let's take some calls here, good morning.
Who's this Marie? All right? Marie? Three different female actors
played this character on television. Name this well known character.

Speaker 3 (05:51):
Crab two for sure? No, really, yeah, there were there
were two missus gravitt.

Speaker 1 (05:56):
I was there? Yeah, No, not the answer. I'm looking
for grabbit. No, sorry, four one, two, three, three, three
ninety four or five? Oh? What you got, Johnny? My
guess is Marshall Brady, not Marsha Brady. Oh, North Tabith
and Bewitched either not, No, just keep guessing until you
get it's got a Kayley, what you got is it?

Speaker 2 (06:18):
Harley Quinn?

Speaker 1 (06:20):
No, it's not.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
You.

Speaker 1 (06:26):
Let's go to Laurie.

Speaker 2 (06:27):
Gloria Bunker from All in the Family.

Speaker 1 (06:30):
No, no, We've had a lot of people say that.

Speaker 3 (06:32):
Okay, why do people keep saying that?

Speaker 1 (06:35):
Take let's take three more Harley Quinn not Harley Quinn
two more ago.

Speaker 2 (06:41):
Hi, oh, thank you.

Speaker 1 (06:42):
I'm gonna go with a Star is Born. That's those
are movies we're looking for. TV. Oh TV. Oh. I'm sorry. Okay,
I gotta understand your question. But at least I didn't
say fat woman. Okay, thank you. I appreciate that. Thank
you by Michelle. How you doing?

Speaker 4 (06:58):
Am doing good?

Speaker 1 (07:00):
I love that definitely. Okay, Well, you're the last song
I take today?

Speaker 2 (07:06):
Larry Mary who diversion?

Speaker 4 (07:10):
Mary? Oh?

Speaker 3 (07:12):
That Mary?

Speaker 1 (07:13):
Mary? No? No, no, no, this is a this is
a character. Okay, that was just like a pumped in
my hade. Okay, try all right, thank you? All right, Now,
do you have a guest or do you have a question.

Speaker 3 (07:30):
I have a question?

Speaker 2 (07:32):
Uh is this character the different actresses playing this character
at different life stages?

Speaker 1 (07:40):
No, okay, that's a great question because some people are
you know, are talking about like what was the this
is Sheldon's mom or this is us and stuff like that.

Speaker 2 (07:51):
No.

Speaker 1 (07:51):
Yeah, you're barking up the wrong tree with that. What's
the most important to me? News updates, updates. I like
the local news. What's happening.

Speaker 2 (08:01):
San Francisco Police Lieutenant Jonathan Ozl had the job recently
of wearing an inflatable chicken costume and trying to cross
a busy roadway over and over. Unfortunately, drivers did not
stop for the pedestrian despite the huge flamboyant costume. Well
he didn't get hit. Dozens of drivers, though, were ticketed

(08:22):
during the exercise, and a reporter who was on hand
said police pulled over so many people I lost count. Wow,
So yeah, stop for piso, no no psyche. Deborah Davies
predicts that twenty twenty five will be the year that
aliens make physical contact with humans, claiming they will no
longer fear us and are coming to help, not harm.

(08:44):
She told the Daily Star quote, aliens will no longer
hide from us. They know they've been subjected to being
captured by people in power, but they mean no harm.
Just as they helped us build civilization many years ago,
they will help us stop destroying our planet through climate change.
We'll see a big increase in them and our skies
and eventually our lives. She's emphasizing their mission is to

(09:08):
help us save the planet. She expects a rise in
UFO sightings early in the year, followed by increased direct
contact by the end of the year.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
Do you believe in aliens? I don't, Okay, I.

Speaker 3 (09:22):
Just believe, I guess.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
I mean, I think there is it possible that there's
alien somewhere? Do you think? Yes? Do you believe that?

Speaker 3 (09:29):
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (09:31):
Unless you've got right, Yeah, yeah, I don't think so.

Speaker 2 (09:36):
Americans are all about pursuing happiness, But how do we
do that exactly? Doctor Robert Waldinger may have cracked the
code on what makes for a happy, healthy life, and
he's got research to back it up. He's the director
of Harvard's Study of Adult Development, possibly the longest running
study on human happy happiness. It started in nineteen thirty eight.

(09:57):
I would imagine what it makes people happy has changed.

Speaker 1 (10:01):
Through the decade, you hope so anyway.

Speaker 2 (10:04):
Waldinger is also a psychiatrist and professor of psychiatry at
Harvard Medical School, a Zen priest, and co author of
The Good Life Lessons from the World's longest scientific Study
of Happiness.

Speaker 1 (10:17):
Well.

Speaker 2 (10:17):
He says a lot of components factor into a happier life,
but one thing that is key is quality relationships. He
says staying actively connected to at least a couple of
people gives a sense of connection that we all need
and helps with stress relief and keeps us from feeling lonely.
So here's what the experts recommend to live your happiest life.

(10:38):
Don't neglect the basics. Make sure you're taking care of
your physical health by exercising regularly. I did a story
on the show this morning. It'll five and a half
minutes a day.

Speaker 3 (10:48):
That's it. Keeps you healthy.

Speaker 2 (10:50):
Okay, they say, eat well, don't abuse drugs or alcohol,
and get a reasonable amount of sleep. Also invest in
those personal relateslationships and strength and existing relationships. He also
says you should be able to accept and embrace change.
We change all the time. The important thing is supporting

(11:11):
that change rather than resisting it.

Speaker 1 (11:13):
Just remember anything that's fun you shouldn't do. Okay, all right,
do you want to finish up with the top ten
yacht rock songs? Can we do that? Because you had
that on the air. That was that was fun so
so HBO slash Max, I don't know what they call
them these days. Had this yacht rock documentary and I

(11:34):
can't recommend it highly enough. It is amazing.

Speaker 3 (11:39):
Could have watched it all day.

Speaker 1 (11:40):
It started with Steely Dan. They were everything started with
steelye Dan. They were ground zero really and then although
the ultimate singer songwriter that is, like the ultimate yacht
rock performer ended up being Michael McDonald of the Doobie Brothers.
He was featured, so was Kenny Loggins, and a lot

(12:00):
of members from the from Toto were featured as well.
So so Val dug up the top ten yacht rock
songs according to what is a Ultimate.

Speaker 2 (12:08):
Classic Rock Okay, so number ten, Rich Girl, Holland Oates,
Yep Yeap, Fooled Around and fell in Love by Elvin.

Speaker 1 (12:17):
Bishop, which is the lead singer.

Speaker 2 (12:19):
Thomas Yeah went on to be in Starship Baker Street,
Jerry Rafferty Dirty Work that's also Steely Dan, Yep Ride
Like the Wind.

Speaker 1 (12:29):
Christopher Christopher Cross was featured a lot prominently. Yeah, And uh,
let's talk about some of the things.

Speaker 2 (12:38):
I look at him as like this baby faced, mild mannered,
just mellow, not unsuspecting.

Speaker 3 (12:48):
What's that. I'm not sure what the word is.

Speaker 1 (12:49):
I'm looking forward, but he looked he looks innocent. He
looks like a baby face innocent, you know, kind of
a like a really kind of a like a band geek.

Speaker 2 (13:00):
And so he said he funded his first album by
selling Weed and then when he wrote Ride Like the
Wind on.

Speaker 3 (13:08):
Acid, I was like, what you did Acid?

Speaker 1 (13:12):
And there's the big you know. He started his career
filling in for Richie blackmore of Purple in I think
Houston Purple Yeah, something like that. Yeah. So yeah, that
was a bit of a surprise.

Speaker 2 (13:23):
Uh So Ride Like the Wind is number six, number five,
Summer Breeze, Jisen Cross uh Now Boss Gagg's two songs
back to back in the top five low Down and
Lido Shuffle.

Speaker 1 (13:36):
Songs that were written by David Page of Toto and
the band total. A lot of members were performed on
that album.

Speaker 2 (13:43):
Yep Peg, Steely Dan, number two and number one.

Speaker 1 (13:51):
What a Fool Believe and Michael McDonald was surprisingly funny.
So was Steve Lucatherra. I know he's he's he's my
favorite guitarist, but he is a funny, funny guy. He
was like yacht rock, Yeah, well, where's my yacht? Yeah?
He was great.

Speaker 2 (14:07):
I see these guys in this old footage. It's like, man,
you guys were really cute back then.
