Speaker 1 (00:10):

a Friday. Can we make it friday? Just let me
have Friday. Can we start the work Friday? You had
a story the other day. A four day work week.
Speaker 3 (00:31):
Yes, it's beneficial for everybody.
Speaker 1 (00:37):
I don't like it's gonna happen here in the US,
probably not. They make his work ten out. Would you
would you rather work four days in ten hour days? Yeah?
You would? Ye? Than like eight hours over five?
Speaker 3 (00:49):
Yes? Absolutely? What's two more hours?
Speaker 1 (00:54):
I don't know. We only work a handful of hours.
We're not We're not ones that should get advice on
working hours because we're we got the US.
Speaker 3 (01:06):
I worked ten hour days two days a week anyway.
Speaker 1 (01:08):
So all right, welcome in. This is the condensedu P
recap podcast for July twenty fourth, recapping the show for today,
two hundred and fifth day of the year. One hundred
and sixty days remain three days until Valport is yacht
rock cruise. I have another Captain Balporter yacht rock song
of the day later in the podcast Nice thirty nine
(01:30):
days to Labor Day, one hundred and fifty four days
to Christmas. Today's Amelia Earhart Day. Did you hear they
actually they think they may have found what island she
kind of landed on? No, yeah, I don't know if
that's true or not, but it's kind of fascinating. Cousins Day.
Do you still keep in touch with your cousins?
Speaker 2 (01:49):
A few?
Speaker 3 (01:50):
Real Yeah, used.
Speaker 1 (01:52):
To be real tight with my cousins. Heard, I haven't
heard from them in decades.
Speaker 3 (01:55):
Yeah, we stopped having family reunions.
Speaker 1 (01:57):
So Earth over Shoot Day? What is that? Can you
look that up on it?
Speaker 4 (02:02):
Well?
Speaker 1 (02:03):
Certainly National drive through Day, National Refreshment Day, you know what?
Speaking of drive throughs, I saw it something like a
TikTok where you exchange with your spouse your go to
restaurant picks, so McDonald's and Chick fil A and Duncan,
and you tell them, hey, if you're stopping at this get,
(02:25):
this is what you need. This is my go to get,
you know, for maybe it's you know, Chick fil A,
it's you know the spicy chicken sandwich, and then you
exchange and so whenever you go you get something for
your spouse. I thought that was a good idea.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (02:41):
Earth Overshoot date A day is the date when humanities
demand on nature exceeds what the planet can regenerate in
a year. It's eight days earlier than it was last year.
Speaker 1 (02:54):
I don't know what to say. National Refreshment Day, National
Telling old Joke Day, National Tequila Day, Engineer Day, and
Pioneer Day Day twenty twenty eight for the Rodroy trivia
question coming up after this comedy cut from Sean Madden.
Speaker 5 (03:09):
Got this buddy who calls me every weekend. Hey, do
you want to go skydiving?
Speaker 2 (03:13):
No?
Speaker 5 (03:16):
Cause here's the thing, man, you don't get your own parachute.
They just like strap you to a stranger. But he's like, no,
he's not a stranger man, trained professional. I'm like, yeah,
I don't know what's going on in his personal life,
you know, Can I at least see the medicine cabinet
make sure there's no antidepressants in there before I pay
(03:37):
two hundred dollars to jump with Ron? You know, so
I google how many people die a year with a
professional on their back.
Speaker 1 (03:46):
It's a lot, not zero.
Speaker 5 (03:48):
About twenty people a year hit the ground. Yeah, and
every article says the same thing. Two men fell to
their death as parachute fails. And I'm like, eh, sure
there's some lawyers failing to get joint custody.
Speaker 1 (04:02):
I want to go, dude.
Speaker 5 (04:02):
I just feel like I have to interrogate him the
whole flight up. It's a wedding ring. How's that going? Well,
we're about to find out my biggest fear has just
been at ten thousand feet, just like, oh, this is
the greatest thing ever. And the guy in your back's
just like shit talk out right back. They got like
(04:25):
thirty seconds to talk him out of it.
Speaker 2 (04:27):
You can see your kids on the weekend. Played.
Speaker 1 (04:30):
All right, we'll get to trivia coming up next. All right,
Day twenty eight for the trivia questions. Still trying to
give away these Paul McCartney ticks.
Speaker 3 (04:40):
It's proving very difficult.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
Good morning. Who's this there, Jony?
Speaker 4 (04:44):

Speaker 3 (05:37):

Speaker 1 (05:38):

our podcast?
Speaker 3 (05:41):

Speaker 4 (05:42):
I can't do that.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
Yeah, I don't have that. Okay, Well, there are approximately
twenty one hundred of these on the planet, two hundred
and fifty five in the USA, eight in Pennsylvania. What
are they?
Speaker 4 (05:51):
Casinos?
Speaker 1 (05:52):
Not casinos? Yeah, let's take three more.
Speaker 3 (05:57):
Good morning. How about them robots and deliver medications throughout
the ability?
Speaker 1 (06:03):
Nothing that complicated. This is something we all recognize.
Speaker 2 (06:06):
Okay, okay, thank you?
Speaker 1 (06:08):
Two more ago I die?
Speaker 4 (06:11):

Just give it a.
Speaker 1 (06:29):
Try, it, just give it a try.
Speaker 4 (06:30):
But you know what it is?
Speaker 1 (06:32):
All right, Well, you're the last gong I take today.
What you got?
Speaker 4 (06:35):
I got the national historical sites that are going to
celebrate the two hundred and fiftieth Parthday of America next July.
Speaker 1 (06:44):
Wow, And that was so far wrong. So yeah, that
if this is something we'd all recognize, something that was like, oh,
I know exactly what that is.
Speaker 4 (06:56):
Okay, all right, all right, Henry, do me fair check
out the podcast.
Speaker 1 (07:03):
We've got some good hints on there. Okay, I will
do that, all right. If he's listening to the podcast,
thank you for checking out the podcast. Now, do you
have a guest or do you have a question?
Speaker 3 (07:13):
I have a question. Is this you said it's what's
in the building, right, Okay. So is this a specific
like named business like KFC or Payless Shoes or Duncan. No, okay,
so it's a type of.
Speaker 1 (07:31):
It's a type of business, but it has a variety
of names. What's most important to me?
Speaker 3 (07:36):
News updates, news updates.
Speaker 1 (07:38):
I like the local news. Oh she's writing things down.
Speaker 3 (07:44):
Doesn't help?
Speaker 1 (07:45):
Oh really? Wow? Okay, all right, what's going on now?
Speaker 2 (07:49):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (07:49):
People don't necessarily need to rack up ten thousand steps
a day to have a positive impact on health. In fact,
that number came from a nineteen sixties marketing campaign in Japan.
A new study Wednesday and The Lancet found walking just
seven thousand steps can get the job done, leading to
an almost fifty percent reduced risk of premature death from
any cause, along with lower rates of heart disease, cancer,
(08:12):
and dementia.
Speaker 1 (08:13):
And we sit all day, You sit all day. They
get seven thousand steps in. It's we've got to do
it all Wow, you have to walk?
Speaker 3 (08:21):
Yeah you can't. You're not going to get those in
in your daily activities. But is the perfect pair a
golden retriever boyfriend and a black cat girlfriends? Okay, I
will explain a trend on TikTok is. The black cat
girlfriend is like a real black cat, mysterious, introverted, a
(08:41):
bit aloof and apparently she pairs well with a golden
retriever boyfriend who's outgoing, friendly and always eager to please,
and together they supposedly make a quirky, well balanced couple.
Speaker 1 (08:53):
Who will Janis always calls me a labrador because you're
the labrador and I'm you know, like you know, I'm
a drooling hoo. You want to play, you want to
you like me? And then but she's definitely not a
black cat though, No, she's not mysterious.
Speaker 3 (09:09):
No, people just don't trust their neighbors or frankly, even
know them. In a new survey, just twenty six percent
of Americans say they know most or all of their neighbors.
The numbers are pretty consistent along all demographic measures like age, race,
political affiliation, and income level. But not only don't we
know the people who live around us, we don't trust them. Oh,
(09:32):
just forty four percent of Americans say they trust all
of their neighbors. We don't have a lot of faith
in our neighbors, see either, even though seventy six percent
say they would bring in mail or water plants for
an out of town neighbor. Just about half say a
neighbor would do the same for them.
Speaker 1 (09:49):
All right, very good, let's do this all right, time
once again for Captain vall Porter's yacht rock song of
the Day.
Speaker 3 (10:03):
That salute in there.
Speaker 1 (10:04):
I know it's radio, but I still have to do
it every time I say it.
Speaker 3 (10:07):
You just do it for me. I appreciate it.
Speaker 1 (10:09):

to see Toto in concert.
Speaker 2 (12:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (12:34):
I've never seen any of the bands tonight.
Speaker 1 (12:37):
Oh, neither of I, neither of I. But I've been
a huge follower of Toto for a long time and
it seems like every time they would come to town,
I would be on vacation. So I finally am going
to see them live. Steve Lucather, I think, is an
amazing guitarist, so I cannot wait to see him perform.
Now I've seen him perform with Yeah. And then ooh,
(12:59):
here's another song that I haven't heard, Georgie Porgie another one.
Speaker 3 (13:05):
I was looking over their set list. I'm like, oh, yeah,
I forgot they do that song. I'm like, oh yeah,
that songs.
Speaker 1 (13:10):
There, Stoos, Rosanna, everybody will sing along to this one.

big fan is this song song ninety nine. That's when
(13:34):
I became a fan of Toto.

Well, yeah, it was the Hydra album. See if we
have any other one? But yeah, so tonight Toto at start, like, uh,
it's gonna be a hot one. You can bring in
a water bottle, but it's got to be empty at first.
Speaker 3 (13:50):
You can retill it.

Yeah, yeah, and then it's gonna be a hot one. Yep,
it's gonna be hot. So all right, hopefully we'll see
you tonight at Toto. Wise, we'll hear you. You can
listen to us tomorrow starting at five o'clock bright and
