No, people just don't trust their neighbors or frankly, even
know them. In a new survey, just twenty six percent
of Americans say they know most or all of their neighbors.
The numbers are pretty consistent along all demographic measures like age, race,
political affiliation, and income level. But not only don't we
know the people who live around us, we don't trust them. Oh,

just forty four percent of Americans say they trust all
of their neighbors. We don't have a lot of faith
in our neighbors, see either, even though seventy six percent
say they would bring in mail or water plants for
an out of town neighbor. Just about half say a
neighbor would do the same for them.
