For the last decade, Frankie Cosmos has been one of New York’s most beloved bands. The music industry has shifted dramatically during that time, but Greta Kline hasn’t changed her approach to recording. She still creates intimate songs with a handful of friends and bandmates.
This commitment shines on the band’s latest album Different Talking, a collection of 17 songs out on Sub Pop Records. That doesn’t mean every song is quiet. “Bitch Heart,” for example, gets louder than casual fans might expect.
Despite her status as a leader in the DIY community, Kline has embraced the viral success of “Fool,” a track from 2016 that recently went Gold.
In this episode of Jordan and Demi, Kline talks about recording the new album, the history of Frankie Cosmos, and the importance of fun inclusive performance spaces.
