Send me a Text Message! I am Happy to Hear from You.

Your life is being quietly sculpted by every choice you make. But do you know which decisions matter most?

Most of us navigate life making thousands of choices without fully understanding their cumulative impact. In this deeply personal exploration, I reveal how three fundamental decisions – who you're with, where you live, and what you do – create the architecture of your entire future.

Drawing from my own journey from a tiny Italian town of just 1,700 people to building a life in the Netherlands, I share how changing environments transformed my mindset and opportunities. We examine how fear and uncertainty become the invisible barriers holding us back, even when we're 99% confident about a path forward. That tiny 1% of doubt can hijack our entire decision-making process.

Through candid stories about my experiences in Sicily, Ireland, and the Netherlands, I demonstrate how each environment and relationship contributed differently to my personal growth. The people you surround yourself with and the places you inhabit shape your vision, ambitions, and possibilities more profoundly than most realize. Whether you're contemplating a career change, relationship shift, or geographic move, this episode provides a framework for making choices aligned with your growth.

Small decisions accumulate like water droplets on stone – seemingly insignificant at first, yet transformative over time. Your future self is being shaped right now by today's choices. Are you making them intentionally?

What decisions are you currently facing? Is it about who you're with, where you live, or what you're doing? Share your thoughts and let's support each other on this journey to becoming the people we're meant to be.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Did you know that life is a matter of choices?
And every choice, guys, everychoice you make, it makes you
and this is not my quote, it isa quote from John Maxwell, and I
think I just love it, you know,I mean, life is a matter of

(00:23):
choices and every choice youmake makes you so powerful.
Quote.
Hi guys, my name is Fabio, fromJourney to Success, and welcome
Today.
What are we going to do?
Well, today we introduce theconcept of important life
decisions, all right, and howthey shape our future.

(00:46):
First of all, life decisionsshape our future.
That's the reality.
It is true, they really do.
When we are young, you know, wedon't think so much about it,
right?
But the reality is that anychoice we make you know, bad or
good shapes the future versionof ourselves.

(01:09):
We don't know, let's say, whichkind of version will be.
Of course, maybe it's one welike it or maybe not.
It could be a good version ornot.
You know.
What is sure is that smallchoices are like drops of water
on the rock, you know.
So they may appearinsignificant in the beginning,

(01:31):
but they can create change.
We cannot predict the future,of course.
We don't know the type of formyou are going to have.
But whatever you do, you cansurely influence the form it
takes.
But anyway, before to goforward, as always, please

(01:52):
subscribe, guys.
So I know this is the rightdirection to lead you, to drive
you, to guide you towards yourjourney to success.
And let's get started, allright.
So what are the common strugglespeople face when making
significant decisions?
There are basically twostruggles, two main struggles

(02:16):
the fear factor and theuncertainty.
So let's talk about the fearfactor first.
Fear.
So let's talk about the fearfactor first.
Fear fear is an emotion that isconnected to the brain's
genuine threat response center.
Right?
For example, if you want toopen an airbnb, maybe you have a
fear that no one is going todecide desire this airbnb

(02:39):
because it is not the bestlocation for you, rather than
other airbnb places in otherbeautiful locations.
So you're afraid about thecompetition.
Or maybe because thecompetition is exactly too high,
you know, in your opinion.
And this is the fear factor.
And then we have the uncertainty, which is also an interesting

(03:02):
concept.
It refers to not knowing whatto do or believe, or being
actually unable to decide onsomething.
So uncertainty, guys, isfascinating.
It's fascinating because if youbelieve, you are 99% sure about
a project, right, that still isnot good.
It's not good because there isalways that 1% of doubt that can

(03:28):
grow in your mind.
You know what I mean, and anexample that I like to mention
in this case is the trading.
So let's say you want to becomea trader.
Let's say you want to work inthe exchange market, but you
hear that most people lose moneyin this field.
So, as a result, what happens?

(03:49):
It happens that you are goingto hesitate.
You will hesitate because youfeel uncertain based on the
experience of others, even ifyou are willing to take the risk
at the end.
You know Now, emotions, guys, play a crucial role in the
decision-making process.

(04:11):
Feelings such as fear, happiness, misery and anger can all
affect the decision we take.
Okay, I would like to share apersonal example that happened a
month ago with myself.
My energy at work was quite lowbecause something happened and
I didn't really like it.
It wasn't directed at mepersonally, but there was a

(04:38):
disparity, let's say, in a groupplan discussion.
That wasn't right at all in myopinion, and this situation
distracts me a lot.
See, guys, maintaining a goodbalance in my job is very
important.
It's very important to mebecause it allows me to progress
with my podcast.
So if there is no balance orthere is something that I don't

(05:01):
like, of course it can affect myemotions, which can
consequently impact my podcastplans and, of course, my life.
And yeah, my how can I say?
Yeah, my life overall,basically right.
So last month my job situationdrained my energy to the point

(05:25):
where I couldn't write or recordas I should.
I was very distracted and feltlike I was crying inside.
I made a work at the end for mypodcast, but it was very hard.
Now it is normal to experienceemotions.
I read somewhere I don'tremember where, honestly, but I

(05:48):
read that being emotionless canhelp achieve a certain level of
success.
Probably, maybe it's true, butthat's not the way in my opinion
.
Things happen and there isnothing to do right.
Sometimes emotions can obscureour judgment.
We know.
Know that, leading to decisionswe may regret later.

(06:09):
But at the same time, guys, positive emotions can enrage
creativity and lead to morechoices, having so more energies
.
So, understanding this internalwar between emotions and
decision making allow us tounderstand how emotions work and

(06:31):
make better choices.
Okay, now, what are the mostcrucial decisions a person can
make that impact all aspects oflife.
Well, there are basically threepoints, and you might be
surprised by them 100%, becausethey're not that hard points at
the end of the story.

(06:51):
So there are the who, so whoyou are with.
The second point is where youlive.
And the third point is whatyou're doing.
So these three are the mostcrucial decisions a person can
make that impact all aspects oflife.
Okay, and these are important.

(07:12):
They are important tricky notesbecause because of them, we can
achieve a better success forthe future.
So let's discuss the who andwhere together in the same
context.
Okay, so you might be with yourfamily, have a partner or I

(07:35):
don't know, live with your bestfriend, it doesn't matter.
These choices are going toshape you in deep ways, guys.
In my case, I decided to live inanother country, first Ireland
when I was around 25 years old, maybe before, and then the
Netherlands.

(07:55):
I knew that, as much as I lovedmy family, I had to create a
different life and cultivate anew mindset for myself, and that
meant for me to live withdifferent people in different
countries.
I mean, if it wasn't for mydeparture, I would never know
people like you know, tonyRobbins or Eric Thomas, for

(08:16):
example platonically, of course.
So for me it was important toenlarge my mentality.
It's funny because, beforeNetherlands and Ireland as well,
I previously studied in Sicilyfor a while, which is a
different region than Calabria, where I was born, still in Italy

(08:36):
.
Right, I was still visiting myfamily a couple of times a year
at the time, sometimes more.
And I remember living in sicilywith a friend and it was great.
Everything was around gaming, food, uh, eating like six hot
dogs each, you know, I stillremember, remember there was
this offer of five hot dogs, um,of, sorry, 10 hot dogs plus two

(09:02):
.
So it was amazing.
And we used to watch anime, wewere enjoying life, guys, all
right, it felt so light and soright, even if some part was
wrong, honestly.
But I miss those days.
And even if my years in Sicilydid not contribute much to my

(09:24):
personal growth, so they forsure, they made me understand
something about my personalgrowth, about who I want to
become, all right, and thereason why I want to achieve a
certain type of financialfreedom.
But regardless of that I meanthey didn't contribute directly
to my personal growth, but stillthey helped me.

(09:46):
They helped me to understandwho I want to become and they
helped shape the Fabio I'm todayas well.
Okay, the one who sometimesneeds to take a break.
The truth is, I feel betterwhen I give myself some nerdy
time to recharge.
That's important for me becauseI can use this energy to
achieve my goals.

(10:06):
Sure, at that time I didn'trealize how important personal
growth and development materialwere, but that year since,
easily, guys shaped me, shapedme into a person who I love
today, including especially thenerdy part.

(10:30):
Anyway, it was first Calabria, with my family, then Sicily,
with my friend, still in Italy.
So Calabria and Sicily are tworegions in Italy.
Then we have Ireland and lateron we have the Netherlands, and
during my years in theNetherlands, I discovered the
value of motivational speakers.
Honestly, I believe my passionfor helping others achieve

(10:52):
success comes also from this.
So I started to exploremotivational music and talks
while I was sporting, you know.
So it was truly was a casualty, honestly.
And see, that's what I want tosay.
As you can see, it's soimportant to change the

(11:14):
environment, guys, especiallywhen you are with the right
person.
Of course.
Also, ireland, after Sicily andbefore Netherlands, taught me
which person I want to becomeMaybe a trader, maybe a life
coach or maybe something else.
I was still brainstorming withmyself about my persona, between

(11:35):
ups and downs, missteps, lackof direction, especially lack of
direction something that Idiscovered this year especially
lack of direction, somethingthat I discovered this year.
So the moment you discover yourdirection is the moment where
you can really target the wayyou want to be to achieve your
goals, right, anyway, still, even if I was brainstorming

(12:01):
during Ireland and my firstyears in the Netherlands, even I
was still strangling in amindset way and try to
understand who I want to be.
Well, it was helpful.
It was helpful because it stillshaped me to the person I am
today.
All right, see, how muchimportant is to you know is to

(12:23):
go out.
Now I live in the Netherlandsproperly, so I don't know if I'm
going to be here forever, Idon't know, but I am with my
fiance right now.
I love her, we love each otherand I know she will be my wife
one day, with a similarperspective on lives, and this
match helps us grow together andbrainstorm new ideas.

(12:44):
So look at how fundamental itis to consider also the person
who you are with and where youlive, because it shapes your
perspective and your mindsetmore than you think.
Okay now, guys, just tounderstand better, right?
The town where I used to live, calabria, has a population of

(13:06):
only 1700 people.
Now, leaving the town didn'tlook like an option in my
opinion.
It felt more like a necessity, especially if you come from an
average background, rather thana wealthy mindset, something we
talked about in the previousepisode.
Okay, so could I have chosenthe life I have now, while stay

(13:28):
in a town of 1,700 people withmy family?
I mean, would I be this versionof Fabio that you know also
from this podcast?
I don't know.
I would say no, honestly, andalso my family.
Now they're working inSwitzerland, but anyway, no, no,

(13:48):
no, I would say no, we can't besure.
That's for sure, we can't besure.
The truth is that for this kindof version of myself, it would
probably have taken much longertime than it has already, that's
for sure.
So, so, that covers the firstand the second point.

(14:09):
So we talk about the who and thewhere, guys, all right, now
let's talk about the third pointwhat you're doing.
So, what you're doing, whatyou're doing, guys, what are you
doing right now with your life?
I tell you what I do.

(14:30):
I work still for for a company,I feel okay.
Let's say I feel okay, that'sokay for now and so I feel okay
with my nine-to-five job.
I mean, once I can finallymonetize my passion, I plan to
leave.
However, the truth is that, regardless of my current job and

(14:53):
some small issues, that'stotally normal in a company
generally I've had many negativeexperiences with jobs before
this one.
I've also had some wonderfulexperiences, of course, like
working in a castle hotel inIreland with my friend Miguel.
Experience, of course, likeworking in a castle hotel in
Ireland with my friend Miguel, who was the manager, and making

(15:13):
pancakes in the Netherlands withanother great guy.
But I mean overall, betweenuniversity and jobs, it was a
disaster, I have to be honest.
So if you are not here for thefirst time in this podcast, you
should know that everything isuseful for our journey anyway,
right, our journey to success.

(15:34):
So, of course, I don't regretanything.
I don't regret anything,nothing.
But I tell you something it waschallenging, it was really
challenging, and all the ups anddowns let's talk about the
downs in this case.
So all the downs made me bringto the person I want to be and

(15:59):
made me shape to the person Iwant to become, in a way, also
to reach that financial freedomthat I seek so much these days,
these months, these yearshonestly, especially these days
actually, because I feel I'mmore and more close.

(16:19):
But these adventures, all theseadventures, right, have
motivated me to find somethingbetter, anyway, something that
makes me happier and gives me asense of freedom.
And, for example, right now, yes, I work for Job 925, but I

(16:43):
work from home, remotely, andthis gives me time.
So this kind of perspective andenergy gives me time to work
for my podcast, right.
What else?
Well, I have to say, this is myperspective.
Of course, it's subjective, soI'm saying to you what is ideal

(17:04):
for me.
But what is ideal comes fromthe fact that I left my town and
met different people thatbrought me to a different place
and I'm happy where I am rightnow.
Okay, very happy.
Also, honestly, I know peoplewho are generally happy in their

(17:28):
jobs.
All right, in my case, there isalways some compromise.
For example, you know the factthat I work for a job nine to
five, but I still work remotely.
For me it's a big advantage,because I'm not a company person
, not at all.
But in the Netherlands, Inoticed, I learned that the work

(17:51):
environment can be fun andlight.
That wasn't my experience, ofcourse, but I saw it with people
around me and with my friendsas well.
So see, it's not alwaysfinancial freedom and, you know,
try to wake up whenever youwant because you have enough

(18:14):
freedom and money.
No, it doesn't work like that.
Of course, everyone has hisexperience, okay, and based on
that experience can be happy orsad, it depends.
But here's the point how can youfigure out if something works
for you, whether as an employeeor an employer, if you don't

(18:38):
risk out?
First, okay, especially withthe who and the where, and now
with what you're doing?
So how can you?
You can't, of course.
And talking about the who andthe where, you can only achieve
the best at what you do if yousurround yourself with people

(19:00):
who are more successful or moreskilled than you.
All right, as I said, itdoesn't matter if you work for
someone else or not.
What is important is that youunderstand who you surround
yourself with and where you are.
That's very, very important.
Now let's summarize the keyinsights, all right?
First of all, every choice wemake, big or small, shapes the

(19:23):
person we become.
Small choices shape your future, guys period.
It is not avoidable.
Like drops of water on stone, even a tiny decision can build
something in the long run.
Okay, we may not notice daily, but over time, you know they

(19:44):
define who we are.
Then we talk about the twobiggest obstacles in
decision-making.
So we talked about the fearrooted in the brain, street
response system and all that'sback from starting things.
You know we met examples likethe Airbnb, but generally I mean
side business Also what I'mdoing.

(20:06):
You know, whatever you choosefrom scratch, there is a small
fear and you always have toovercome, of course.
And then we have theuncertainty.
Uncertainty is fascinating, inmy opinion, because even 1%
doubt can overpower 92%confidence.
You know we hesitate based onother people's failures or

(20:29):
opinion.
It is absurd, but that's whathuman being does and, of course,
for me it's totally wrong.
Then also we talked aboutemotions, about the fact that
emotions influence choices.
So negative emotions likestress and frustration can drain
motivation, and positiveemotions fuel creativity, energy

(20:52):
and action.
We also talk about the threemost life-defining decisions.
So who you are with, sorelationships impact your
mindset and personal growth.
When you are with the rightperson, where you live.
So the environment affectsvision, ambitions and the
possibilities and what you do,guys.
So your work or passion definesfulfillment and direction.

(21:16):
What else?
What else?
Each place or relationship canextend your mindset, okay, and
you can find inspiration throughmotivational content in new
environments, like I did.
And overall, guys, I think wedid it.
We did it for today.
So we learned that you can'tgrow without taking risks in

(21:38):
people, places and paths.
That's what you learn, and youdiscover what's right only by
trying, exploring and movingforward.
So, if you're stuck in the sameplace, you're not going to
learn anything.
Of course, you're not going tofail, but also you're not going
to succeed, okay.
So be intentional with yourchoices.

(22:00):
Choose people, places andpassions that align with your
growth and remember, guys, thatyour future self is being shaped
by the decisions you make today.
Now I want to hear from you, asalways what decisions are you
making right now?
Is it about who you are with, where you live, or what you're

(22:21):
doing?
Drop a comment below and let'sopen a real conversation about
the choices that shape us andthe future we are all buildings,
of course, one step at a time.
If this episode is related withyou, don't give it to yourself,
guys.
Share it with someone who isintentional to improve his or
her life.
All right, and don't forget toshare this episode.

(22:43):
Share it, share it, share it.
That's how we build a communityin a way to reflect, to grow
and support each other.
Thank you for being here onJourney to Success and I
appreciate every one of you.
Until next time, stayintentional, stay grounded and
keep growing into the personyou're meant to be.
Cheers.
