Speaker 1 (00:00):
What am I here for?
How many times, guys, have weasked ourselves this question?
Also like why am I in thisworld?
What is the reason?
I know that religions havecomforted us, right, With the
idea that there is somethingbigger than us, something that
(00:22):
cannot control our lives.
Right, or when consideringphilosophies that suggest we are
in this world because we didsomething good or bad in a
previous life and we are giventhe chance to do better.
So, looks like we don't havecontrol about our choices.
But what if you are the one,the only one, who can control
(00:46):
your life?
Only you, okay.
Not religions, notjustifications, only you and
your willingness to do somethingmeaningful.
Scary, eh, isn't it?
It can be terrifying to thinkabout it, right?
If you think about it, I mean,if that's the truth, regardless
(01:08):
of our decisions, beliefs orphilosophies, it means we are
the only ones who control ourlives.
Then it means we have to takeaction, a real action to achieve
whatever we decide.
A real action to achievewhatever we decide.
So, to achieve this, we mustface different fears to discover
(01:29):
, finally, our purpose.
Hi guys, my name is Fabio fromJourney to Success, and welcome.
Today we're going to discuss theconcept of facing fears as a
crucial step towards discoveringone's true sense of why we are
here.
We will discuss the commonfears, especially, that hold
people back, such as the fear offailure, success, the unknown,
(01:55):
and so on, and explain how thesefears can prevent individuals
from finding their purpose.
But before to go forward, asalways, please, please,
subscribe.
So I know this is the rightdirection to lead you guys, to
drive you, to guide you towardsyour journey to success.
All right, let's get started, okay, as always.
(02:17):
So today we will be talkingabout the top five fears holding
you back from your purpose inlife.
So the first one is fear ofpublic speaking.
That would be the fear ofexpressing oneself in public,
right, and putting oneself outin the world.
Then we have the second fear.
(02:39):
The second fear is fear oftogetherness, and success Comes
together.
Then the third fear is fear offailure.
The fourth fear is the fear ofthe unknown, and number five is
the fear of death.
So let's start.
Number one fear of publicspeaking, expressing oneself in
(03:02):
public and putting oneself outinto the world.
Big title for a chapter, but itis what it is.
So this can be significantbarriers to realizing your
dreams and achieving success,guys.
So if you have a fear of showingup, it often originates from
(03:24):
the anxiety that someone isjudging you.
Okay, so it is connected to thefear of being judged as well.
And this anxiety can arise fromfeeling that people are
watching you, you know, arejudging you regardless of your
actions, which can be paralyzing, of course.
And to overcome this fear, Iwould like to give an example,
(03:46):
as always, an example from myown life.
Generally, I'm not afraid to dothings in public, right, but I
do have my limits as well.
Everyone has their limits.
So moments like you know, no,this is too much, even for me
are normal.
It is normal.
(04:07):
So no worries.
As I say, everyone has, youknow, is is limit to show up.
But it's funny because just theday before writing this episode,
my sister-in-law, a true Gen Z,suggested we create some TikTok
videos together, videostogether.
She said, hey, do you want tomake some tiktoks?
(04:28):
And I replied no, of course Iwas into uh.
Then she suggested okay, let's,we are matching pajamas.
I was like wait, wait, I will.
I hesitate.
So I say wait just a moment andno, please, no pajamas.
But she encouraged me and saycome on, we can match like two
(04:49):
bodies.
You know something like that.
So in that moment, I hear youknow that voice in the back of
your mind questioning thingslike all right, what will people
think?
What if someone I know sees mein pajamas?
So it's normal to be consciousabout how we present ourselves.
(05:12):
Of course, all right, but it itis also essential to question
those thoughts and investigatemore to get the positive side of
these challenging thoughts.
So, instead of staying on myfears, I shifted my perspective.
I thought, okay, this is goingto strengthen my bond with my
(05:35):
sister-in-law or another one.
I've never done something likethis before.
It will actually be fun.
And in the end, it was fun.
We had a great time and we madeweird positions and that
initial form of worrydisappeared completely.
(05:56):
So my advice is to replacenegative thoughts with a
positive perspective on whatspecific actions can bring to us
and you'll be fine, okay.
Number two fear of togethernessand success.
So success comes with people, guys, and it doesn't matter if
(06:17):
it's online or not.
So it doesn't matter if it'sonline or in real life.
Some people have a fear ofbelonging to a community.
Okay, I remember this prominentItalian YouTuber who, to be
honest I don't want toexaggerate it by saying she had
a million followers.
But she surely had hundreds ofthousands of followers.
(06:40):
Okay, and she initially foundjoy in it, but eventually she
turned her channel off becausefor her, youtube started as a
joke and a small hobby and whenit blew up and became something
big, she felt overwhelmed.
Okay, also, as much as I loveyoutube, just a small um, just a
(07:06):
small note.
Some members of certaincommunities can be toxic.
We know that.
A podcast, for example, tendsto be much more chill and
relaxed about it, and foryoutube is a little bit
different.
So I understand their feelings, especially when I consider how
specific communities within myfavorite YouTubers interact with
(07:26):
each other, you know.
But how can one overcome thisfear generally?
So fear of togetherness andsuccess often comes from two
things, guys Loss of control andfear of being consumed by
others expectations.
(07:47):
Okay, so here in this secondpoint, I would like to advise
five keys in um, where, where?
Um, I go through the topic, okay.
So the first key is, uh,redefining your.
So it's important to redefineyour boundaries.
So no one can truly touch you,it's only your mind, guys.
(08:09):
So try practicing somethingthat I like to advise sometimes
Well, now it's a long time Topractice the child yoga position
, balasana, every morning.
It is an easy yoga rest, restand it's very easy, super easy.
You sit on your knees, bendforward and put your head on the
(08:30):
floor.
Your arms can go forward orstay by your sides, it doesn't
matter, and it helps you feelcalm, you know.
Rest your mind and gentlystretch your back and hips.
You can use a pillow if it'shard to reach the floor, so
there is no problem.
And you can see thousands ofimages on the internet about it.
(08:51):
So the name is Balasan.
Okay, it's a simple movementthat increases your sense of
protection, and you can repeat amantra like I'm safe, this
shell protects me, no one cantouch me.
Okay, this is the first key.
(09:12):
Second key focus on your core.
And the key is all these fourkeys are part of the second
topic guys, all right.
So fear of togetherness andsuccess, because I don't want to
lose you.
So, second key focus on yourcore.
There may be people who don'tlike you.
(09:34):
Ok, but remember this those whodislike you will always do so,
regardless of your actions.
Ok, however, those who love youwill continue to do so just as
much as you love them in return.
So it's essential to focus onyour positive core people around
you.
I know that those who criticizeyou often make more noise, I
(09:57):
know that, but they trulyrepresent only a small number of
people, I promise you guys.
Okay.
Fourth key protect your creativeplayground.
You know the show with theKardashian, where you know they
record almost everything.
In my opinion, that's quitedangerous.
(10:20):
Okay, the more you exposeyourself, the less you have to
protect.
So keep some aspects of yourlife solely for yourself, like
journaling, for example, orsharing thoughts with true
friends.
So create a playground outsideof the public eye.
So that's very important.
(10:50):
Now the fourth key is, uh, detoxfrom toxic corners.
So it's essential to have aspace where you can detox from
your environment.
Guys, it's important to youknow, maintain a hobby that you
enjoy, of course, and keep itclose to your heart.
Take walks to ground yourself, especially, and find activities
that help you detox physicallyand mentally.
Okay, that's very important.
(11:11):
And the fifth key is shiftingfrom performance to presence.
Okay, so the more authentic youare, the easier this journey
becomes.
So being your authentic selfallows you to connect with
others in a genuine andmeaningful way, whether people
like you or not, whether peopleare starting to hate your
(11:37):
journey or not, they will acceptyou for who you really are, it
doesn't matter.
And remember you for who youreally are, it doesn't matter.
And remember, loving andaccepting yourself is what truly
matters in the end.
Okay, so this is an essentialstep in finding your meaning.
So these were the five keysthat I like to I highlighted
(12:02):
inside this second step.
And the second step was fear oftogetherness and success.
Okay, just to be clear Now.
Another fear is the fear offailure.
(12:22):
We always discuss it Also inthe previous episode, guys, but
I'm never tired to mentionMistakes serve as valuable
educators and spiritual mentors.
That's it.
Picture it as a strict yethonest teacher saying to you
(12:44):
listen, man, you made an error, fix it.
I understand that feels uneasy, but perfection is elusive,
untouchable.
Life goes on.
So embrace your journey, workthrough it, and one day I might
surprise you by no longerbringing up this error for you,
you know, might surprise you byno longer bringing up this error
(13:04):
for you, you know.
So, mr, failure is there justto show you the mistake, a
mistake or a misstep that youhave to correct to go forward.
That's it, okay.
Number four fear of fear itself.
You have to push through it,guys.
Okay, it doesn't matter whichkind of fear you have, that's
(13:27):
just how it is.
There is not a magic yogaposition that will resolve your
fears.
Or maybe it exists, I don'tknow, but I mean, I don't know
it.
In this case, and when I startmy podcast journey, for example,
right a few ago, I had my ownconcern as well.
Okay, concerns like what if myvoice is not appealing?
(13:49):
Or what if what I'm saying isgrammatically incorrect and most
of the times it was like thator how can I reach even 20
minutes without milking theepisode?
You know, I remember receivinga message on Instagram one day
from someone who said she didn'tunderstand what I was saying in
(14:11):
my podcast and suggested I domy podcast in Italian.
So I was experiencing a smallfear of rejection.
But it's normal, okay, it'sabsolutely normal.
Normal.
It's part of your journey.
So you have to move beyondthose fears.
Let's be honest.
We don't live in a praise storyanymore.
(14:33):
We have a lot of tools with usIn terms of accessibility.
Our lives are extremely bettertoday than they were in the 90s,
and the 90s offered moreadvantages than the 60s.
Again, people in the 60s hadbetter living conditions than
those in the 30s, andparticularly in terms of
(14:54):
accessibility, technology andknowledge.
You know, and consider this inless than 100, 100 years, there
were no tv or computers, guys, only experimental mechanical
calculators or something likethat.
You know, and no, it wasn't noteven in everyday house.
(15:18):
There were no effectivemedicines, there were no
antibiotics.
Now, as we look now at 2025, Imean, we want to conquer Mars we
talk with an AI.
I remember when, a decade ago,I watched Iron man, you know,
for the first time, and in themovie he was brainstorming with
(15:42):
his AI.
You know, for the first time, and in the movie he was
brainstorming with his ai.
You know, it was fascinating.
I remember saying, nah, that'simpossible.
Listen, not even 10 years later, we are here, you know.
It's like we are more and morein a sci-fi movie.
So, regardless of what youthink about this modern era,
(16:04):
there is an essential objectiveand unique factor to consider we
have more tools than ever toachieve our goals.
Right, that's the reality andyou would be blind not to notice
it.
For example, before theIndustrial Revolution, guys,
people collect strawberries andother vegetables by hand, and
(16:26):
after the revolution, machinesbegan to transform our lives,
and now we have robotic toolsdoing much of the work for us,
you know, and this farmingexample reflects a more general
trend that applies to manyaspects of our life, especially
with the online tools we havetoday.
Okay, where I want to go withthis topic?
(16:48):
One year ago, with my podcast,I realized I couldn't stand the
tons of grammar mistakes andcorrection.
All right, I said to myself.
Now there is the, the this aievent, so I plan to write and
make some correction using ai,but I felt that it took over my
(17:10):
meaning and I realized I waslosing my own voice.
You know, uh, so I couldrecognize myself during my
recording.
Okay, but enough, uh, perfect.
So I went forward.
I investigated a little bit soI could do.
How could I do better withoutlosing myself my authenticity?
Okay, so I decided to write myown script, especially in the
(17:33):
last months, and utilize toolslike grammarly, you know, to
refine it without sacrificing myuniqueness and authenticity.
And who knows, who knows whatkind of extensions or tools I
might use in the future toimprove my own way of delivering
my message?
Okay, so we have a lot of toolsin our hands right now, and when
(18:00):
we face a fear, you know, weperceive it as an obstacle in
our minds, okay, but in the past, it may have been more
challenging to move the obstacleor climb it.
Now you have countless tools tomanage this obstacle In various
ways.
(18:20):
You can climb the obstacle, youcan break it, you can lift it.
We have numerous toolsavailable in 2025, so don't
forget that.
Okay, the key is to think abouthow to approach this challenge.
However, if you recognize theobstacle and choose to retreat,
you will not be able to, youknow, overcome your fear, okay.
(18:43):
Number four fear of the unknown.
So, society, family and youknow others often tell us the
same thing study art, choose aspecific college, find a stable
job, pay taxes, buy a house, work, live, live, work and
pension, okay, hopefully after acouple of decades, if you are
(19:04):
lucky, then yeah, then you enjoya little bit your life and then
you meet your grave.
You know, that's it, the end,end of the story.
It feels so great, somechanical, so robotic.
We identify ourselves as humanbeings, okay, because we are
(19:28):
human beings.
But what reflects our humanityin this pattern exactly?
There is no color, there is novibrancy, no energy, no vitality
.
Just the same routine, guys, over and over again, multiplied
for millions and millions ofpeople replicated over and over
again, Okay, and this monotonyoften arises from a fear of the
(19:54):
unknown.
We are afraid to open the doorto a different and anonymous
future because we know that theroom behind it you know the room
of creativity and dreams isdark and uncertain at the
beginning.
I understand that.
I understand that this can be aterrifying experience, but the
(20:18):
good news is that when you openthe door, you find that there is
nothing there yet.
Okay, fair enough, it's emptyand vast, but it's also filled
with infinite possibilities.
The key is that it's up to youto create.
Okay, there are no limits.
It's all about you and yourimagination, like a black canvas
(20:41):
where you can paint your dreamsand achieve your purpose in
this limitless space.
Yes, you may start in thedarkness at the beginning yes,
we know that but you have thepower to fill it with color and
build incredible things that aregoing to be unimaginable, okay.
(21:02):
Build incredible things thatare going to be unimaginable,
okay.
But the truth is that, to breakfree from this routine, you must
dare to go through that doorand take risks that no one in
your circle has taken before.
So remove the barriers to yourmind, guys, because remember
that everything you see here, right now, in front of you, was
(21:22):
created by someone's vision.
Everything you see, everythingyou touch, you know, originated
from the dreams and the purposeof humanity, and you and I
possess the same emotional andspiritual intelligence to reach
those heights.
Remember that Number five fearof death.
(21:43):
So there are two types ofpeople in the world, guys.
On one hand, you have those whounderstand that everyone
eventually dies.
Okay, they question why theyshould invest effort, strength
(22:04):
and dedication into something iftheir life is going to end
anyway.
And, on the other hand, thereare people like me.
So I acknowledge that death isinevitable, and while I'm not
delusional and I myself amafraid of the idea even less and
(22:25):
less since I started to to talkabout it, which helps me
confront my thoughts the truthis that people like me want to
leave a mark on this world, thefootprint that symbolizes our
existence.
Okay, this desire is one of thereasons I decide to pursue
podcasting, guys.
Honestly, we don't know for howlong yet, because you know life
(22:51):
is unpredictable, but for now,I'm happy with where I am.
I'm grateful for you guys aswell, when I see listeners from
you know, hawaii, the UnitedStates, ethiopia, japan,
argentina and beyond.
Thank you for taking the timeto listen to these episodes of
Journey to Success.
I appreciate your support and Iam committed to creating more
episodes for you and for us.
(23:11):
So a huge part of my motivation, of course, originates from
wanting to provide value to you,but I must admit that I also
have self-centered reasons.
I want to be part of somethingsignificant.
I would like to leave a mark inthis world.
You know, that's what we can doin our life, and I want you to
(23:33):
be part of it as well.
So this podcast, these episodes, are for all of us.
So again, thank you so much.
Now back to our main topic.
The idea that life may be shortor long shouldn't restrict you
from finding your true purpose.
Okay, what you must understandat your core is that it's not
(23:56):
about the deadline of life, butrather about the beginning.
You were born among millions ofsperm cells, representing a
miracle itself.
Okay, with roughly 8.23 billionpeople in the world today, the
chances of your existence areincredibly small, remote.
(24:21):
If just one sperm weredifferent, you wouldn't be here.
Considering the vast numbers, some estimates suggest that the
actual probability of anyspecific individual being born
is truly minimal If every spermguys became a baby, even for
(24:42):
just today's men, right, thetotal would be around a
sextillion.
This is a research that I, ofcourse, I made by uh, with judge
pt, because I couldn't know myown.
So thank you, judge pt.
And anyway, again, if everysperm became a baby, even for
(25:02):
just this man, the total wouldbe around 6 trillion guys.
So the percentage that you hearcomes out to be exactly the
0.00000000823%.
So tell me, how can you say youare not a miracle?
(25:23):
How can you claim that you haveno purpose?
I dare you to say that Ofcourse you have a purpose, even
if you haven't discovered it yet.
So don't be afraid, keep aimingtowards your goal and your
purpose, whatever it may be,whatever it could be, whatever
it may be, and I'm sure you willfind one day.
(25:44):
Okay.
But you have to go through, ofcourse.
You have not to be afraid toyou know, to investigate, to
search, you know, through it.
Now, before wrapping up, let'ssummarize a little bit.
Our purpose is something wediscover by taking control of
(26:06):
our own lives.
Guys, all right, this is scarybecause it means we must act and
face our fears to find meaning, and the main fears that hold us
back include fear of publicspeaking and expressing
ourselves often comes fromworrying about judgment, and in
this case you need to shift yourperspective to focus on growth,
(26:30):
and connection, of course, canbe helpful as well.
Number two fear of togethernessand success, which originates
from loss of control or otherexpectations.
Okay, in this case it's veryimportant to set boundaries, so
it's important to protect yourpersonal space, and also it's
very important to prioritizeauthentic relationships, since
(26:55):
they are, you know, veryessential.
And the number three is the fearof failure.
Fear of failure teaches uslessons and helps us grow.
Okay, so mistakes are guides, not punishments.
Then we have the fear of the,of the unknown.
(27:17):
All right.
The fear of the unknown cantrap us in routines and limit
our creativity.
And when you embrace theuncertain guys, you finally open
a world of infinitepossibilities where you can
create your own path.
And at the end, we have thefear of death.
So this reminds us that life istemporary.
(27:37):
Recognizing this can motivateus to live a meaningful impact
and embrace our existence as amiracle.
All right.
So facing this fear, facing allthese fears, is essential for
discovering your purpose.
Life is rare guys, precious anduniquely yours, so you can go
(28:00):
through.
Taking action despite fear ishow you turn potential into
purpose.
Remember that.
Okay, now I want to concludewith a story.
Do you know the story about thewidow of Zarephath?
The widow of Zarephath had onlya little flour and oil left,
(28:21):
all right enough for one lastmeal.
And when the prophet Elijahasked her to bake him bread
first, she trusted.
She had nothing to lose.
So she trusted his word andfrom that moment, her jar of
flour and the jug of oil neverran out until the starvation
ended.
And it's a nice story.
(28:42):
It's a story of faith, trustand how God multiplies the
little we have when we place itin his hands.
Okay, but that's not the storyI want to tell you, actually,
but I had to start somewhere.
So the story I want to share isinspired by this one, by the
one I mentioned before, a storyI hear many years ago, guys, and
(29:03):
it aligns with this topic.
So let's call it, because Idon't even know the real name.
So let's call it the gift ofingredients.
So a woman once prayed Lord, Ineed a miracle, please give me
bread to feed my family.
When she opened her eyes, therewas no bread on the table.
(29:26):
Instead, on the counter was asmall jug of oil, a bowl of
water and three eggs, all right.
So at first she wasdisappointed.
She said this is not what Iasked for.
She thought.
But then she felt a whisper inher heart.
There was God that said to herlisten, I've given you the
(29:49):
ingredients, now create what youneed.
So you know.
She began to mix the eggs, pourthe oil and add the water to
the flour she still had, andfrom these simple things she
baked a bread.
Actually, I think it was a cake.
Now that I think about it, Ithink it was a warm cake.
Anyway, the day she realizedsomething important.
(30:11):
Okay, god rarely places thefinished gift in our hands, guys
.
Instead, he gives us the pieces, the resources, the
opportunities.
So our role is to take them, combine them and make something
beautiful.
You know that in this podcast Inever go.
(30:33):
I don't like to talk aboutpolitics.
I don't like to mix politicswith religions.
I don't like to mix politicswith religions.
I think in this podcast, everyone can express himself,
itself or herself in the bestway ever, right?
So when I talk about God, Imean it can be your God, it can
(30:55):
be also.
You know, the nature gives yousomething.
Guys gave you something, gaveyou skills, gave you beautiful
(31:20):
ingredients, but it's up to youto make something beautiful from
it.
Okay, life itself is like thatwe're given the ingredients and
the miracle comes when we chooseto use them.
Okay, now I want to hear fromyou, as always what fear are you
facing right now that's holdingyou back from your purpose,
(31:41):
guys, and how are you choosingto take action despite it?
Send me a message, of course, share your story or connect with
me on sub stack.
I would love to hear how you'returning, you know fear into
growth.
And, if you found today'sepisode helpful, as always,
subscribe so you never miss anupdate, but especially, share
(32:03):
this episode with a friend whomight need a reminder that
facing fear is the first step toliving a meaningful life, where
, through this meaningful life, you can find his or her purpose.
So, thank you so much for beinghere on journey to success.
Remember your life is rare andprecious.
(32:24):
Taking action today, even inthe face of fear, this is how
you discover your purpose, guys.
I'll see you in the nextepisode, cheers.
