Have you ever considered how the words you speak might be shaping your health reality? The ancient wisdom "The words you speak become the house you live in" takes on profound meaning in our wellness journeys, especially when navigating health challenges.

When faced with diagnoses like depression, diabetes, cancer, or autoimmune conditions, we often unconsciously claim these as part of our identity with phrases like "I am depressed" or "I have diabetes." This subtle linguistic pattern creates a powerful self-fulfilling prophecy that can keep us trapped in limiting beliefs about our healing potential. What if a simple shift in language could create space for profound transformation?

Your body possesses remarkable self-healing mechanisms that science is still discovering. From healing paper cuts to regenerating cells, our physical forms are designed to restore balance and health. While medical knowledge is valuable, it's constantly evolving, and what seemed impossible decades ago is now commonplace. By acknowledging your innate healing capacity rather than surrendering completely to external prognoses, you reclaim your power in your healing journey.

Drawing from my personal experience with two "incurable" genetic conditions diagnosed before age 24, I've witnessed firsthand how choosing an unconventional path of self-healing can transform supposedly permanent diagnoses into temporary chapters. This journey has taught me that healing miracles happen when we believe in them wholeheartedly while nurturing ourselves physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Whether you're currently navigating health challenges or supporting someone who is, this episode offers practical language shifts that create psychological space for transformation. Join me in exploring how we can speak ourselves well and embrace the magic of our innate healing capacity. Share your experiences with these concepts – I'd love to hear how they resonate with your journey at on Instagram.

Speaker 1 (00:03):
Hi, loves, welcome to the Journey to the Soul podcast

holistic health coach.
Every week, we will be divingdeep into all things purpose,
wellness, spirituality andcreating the life that you dream
of.
This space is meant to be safeand transformative for you to

(00:26):
dive into the deepest parts ofyourself.
I will share what I havelearned from my journey along
this path years of research andmentors along the way.
Having spent many years livinglife out of alignment and afraid
to go after my dreams, I knowfirsthand what it means to take
the first step down, living alife authentic to you.

(00:47):
We are on this road ofself-discovery together.
It is time for you to live thelife you imagined.
Hello, loves, welcome to thisweek's episode.
I hope you are all having awonderful week, wherever you are
listening from.

(01:08):
This week, we are discussing thepower of our words and how our
words can create the realitythat we create for ourselves,
and I feel like many of us don'trealize how powerful our words
and what we say to ourselves, either out loud or within, can

(01:32):
constantly reaffirm the realitythat we are living or creating a
different reality for us, andin today's episode.
We're really going to touch onit in the scope of health, and I
have just been seeing so manythings becoming more and more

(01:54):
prevalent, right, more peoplegetting sick, being diagnosed
with different diseases, thingsthat were not as common before.
More and more people arestarting to struggle with we can
see it with autoimmune issues, more people struggling with
depression, anxiety, cancer.

(02:15):
Right, cancer used to besomething that was not as common
and is so much more common, isso much more common Diabetes the
rate of diabetes in the US isjust so, so high.
Alzheimer's as well.

(02:36):
So, in so many different things, so many different sicknesses,
diseases these are all becomingmore prevalent.
More people that we know arestarting to experience something
right or struggle withsomething, and I just want you
to know that, if you arelistening to this and you are
working through some kind ofdisease or sickness or health

(02:59):
ailment of some kind, it's soimportant for you to know that
you are not your sickness, youare not what you are going
through right now, in thismoment.
And for so many of thesediseases you know cancer so many
of us feel like cancer is adeath sentence or diabetes.

(03:22):
It means that our life is goingto be, a certain way, right,
and it's so integral that, ifyou are working through
something, to not let it defineyou, because it is just
something that you are goingthrough in this moment.
It is not who you are, it isjust going to be part of a

(03:44):
chapter of your life.
But you are not your anxiety, you are not your depression, you
are not your cancer or whateverelse you may be going through.
The other thing that we need tobe conscious of is the words you
speak.
Simply affirm that reality, andit can be with anything in life

(04:08):
, and today we're just talkingabout health, a health challenge
that you are working towards ora goal that you are working
towards in life.
The language that we use tospeak about those things is so
important and I'm going to bemaking another video discussing
the same concepts, but when itcomes to other things but this

(04:31):
episode is just specificallyregarding health and you know,
sickness, disease, things likethat so we need to be super
mindful of the verbiage that weare using when we're discussing
it.
Right, most of us say I amdepressed, I have diabetes, I

(04:53):
have cancer, my anxiety.
Right, we usually tie it toourselves.
We say I have, which means thatit is a part of us, or that you
are right, I am and the waythat we are saying these things,
that particular verbiage, issimply a self-fulfilling

(05:17):
prophecy.
There is a quote by the Persianpoet Hefez I believe that's how
you pronounce it and I heard itso long ago I was probably 16
and it is by far one of myfavorite favorite quotes and it
has stuck with me for so long.

(05:38):
And it says the words you speakbecome the house you live in.
And this is just telling usright that what we say to
ourselves creates our realityfor us.
And the verbiage of I amdepressed or I have diabetes or

(06:01):
my anxiety this just makes thedisease a part of you, and it is
not.
This is simply just somethingthat you are working through in
this chapter of your life.
You are not a diagnosis, youare not a symptom, you are not
any of those things.

(06:21):
And in order to believe thatthis is just a chapter of your
life that is teaching you somuch, I think you also need to
be a believer of miracles, because it's about not letting
science, medicine, doctors, people in your life limit your
perspective of what is possible.
People in your life limit yourperspective of what is possible,

(06:44):
because so many of us do tie,you know, a disease, a sickness,
with certain things and, like Iwas using cancer before, for
many of us, cancer can mean likea life or death situation,

(07:04):
right, where the prognosiscannot always be good.
Right, and we need to lean intothe light with any of these
things.
We need to lean into the lightwith depression, with anxiety,
with autoimmune issues.
We need to believe thatsomething other than what is
being told to us, which is notalways positive and supportive,

(07:28):
is possible.
And we need to keep in mindthat doctors only know what they
know and even with medicine, weare constantly expanding our
horizons.
With that right, what we knew ahundred years ago is nothing
compared to what we knew today.
So this is constantly evolving, constantly changing, and we do

(07:51):
hear about stories about peoplewho healed themselves from the
most incredible thingsphysically.
It is not impossible, it is notjust something that we can
dream about and wish that itcould exist in another life.
For us, that is a reality forus and that's up to us to lean

(08:15):
into the light of these thingsso that we can believe that it's
a possibility for us.
Our bodies are truly incrediblethings.
They're self-healing mechanisms.
They are created to constantlybe healing themselves, and it

(08:35):
doesn't matter if it's a papercut, it doesn't matter if it's a
flu, it doesn't matter if it'scancer cells in the body.
Our body has incredible healingcapacities and it's so
important for us to realize thatthat they can do the most

(08:56):
wondrous things.
Even science doesn't fullyunderstand all of the inner
workings of our body.
Just like we don't know what'sout there in space and we're
just getting to know the planetsnext door.
Now it's the same with our body.
There are certain areas of ourbody, certain realms of our body

(09:16):
and our being that sciencestill doesn't fully understand
or have answers for.
So we can't give all of ourpower away to people who we
think have all the answers, because doctors don't, medicine
doesn't.
People in our lives who mighthave an opinion about how we
choose to approach something, although they might say it in a

(09:39):
loving way, they don't know whatis truly best for us and also
what is always possible for us.
And for some of you that may belistening, you might be going
through some kind of experienceand this may be a very real
thing, something that challengesyou every single day, and if

(10:02):
you are struggling withsomething, I'm not discounting
that, but I just want to shedlight on the fact that our
bodies have an incrediblecapacity to heal.
We can heal ourselves fromanything.
The thing that we sometimesdon't allow is just simply

(10:23):
allowing space for that tohappen and to believe in the
power of that, versus the powerof what doctors or medicine
tells you that this is yourprognosis.
Therefore, this is what yourlife is going to look like.
You have diabetes.
Therefore, you have to takemetformin or insulin for the

(10:46):
rest of your life.
You have depression and you'rejust going to struggle with that
on and off for the rest of yourlife, and that's just not true.
That is not true.
We can't let that be the wordsthat create our house.

(11:06):
Right?
We need to use words that aresupportive of creating a house
that is disease-free,sickness-free, free of all
physical ailments.
I know I've talked about this inanother episode.
I mention Louise Hay and herteachings a lot, and she talks

(11:31):
about this all the time in herbooks.
Any disease in the body issimply dis-ease, unease within
ourselves that is creating aphysical manifestation of some
sort.
Our bodies are mirrors of whatis going on within us Our

(11:54):
thoughts, emotions, patternsthat we have within ourselves
have the power to either createharmony or disharmony within the
body.
They are either reaffirmingthat reality or creating a new
one.
So it's important for us toreaffirm the reality that we

(12:18):
want.
I do just want to say, too, thatso many of these thoughts,
emotions, patterns that createthese physical ailments, for
many of us they can beunconscious.
We might not even know whatthose things could be.
If we took the path to healingand giving ourselves space to
heal, it would be necessary forus to give ourselves the space

(12:43):
to explore what those thingscould really be.
If you've never heard about howour emotional and mental
patterns create disease in thebody, I would love if you
approach this with a little bitof curiosity, if you've never
thought of it this way, becauseit really is another way to

(13:06):
think about these things, tothink about the power that they
have, and if you see how certainthoughts are tied to certain
diseases, it might baffle you alittle bit.
So the choice is ultimatelyours to not limit ourselves to a
sickness and to focus on moresupportive speech as we work

(13:31):
through this experience, forwhatever time it's in our life.
And some examples of what thatmight look like is I am feeling
blank.
So, instead of saying I amanxious, we can say I am feeling
anxious, I am feeling depressed.

(13:54):
We can also say I am healingfrom.
I am healing from lupus, I amhealing from hypothyroidism, I
am healing from cancer.
You can also just simply say Iam working through some health
issues at the moment.
Right, if you need to have aconversation with someone and A

(14:18):
you don't want to give morepower to what that thing is, but
that thing might be a very realthing in your life.
That is taking up space and youfeel like you do want to say
something.
You can just simply say I amworking through some health
issues at the moment.
For someone who is activelyworking through a disease or a

(14:41):
diagnosis, using thesestatements can be more
supportive as we move throughthem, as you move through them,
because it allows us to feel theimpermanence of what that thing
is, because it's a feeling inthis moment in time or it's just

(15:04):
something that is with us forthis season of life.
This chapter, this is simplywhat you are experiencing and
feeling in this moment.
It also separates you from thedisease, because you are no
longer your cancer or yourdiabetes.

(15:27):
You are simply healing from itor you are simply working
through it, and those words aregoing to make the world of a
difference to us as we gothrough this chapter of our
lives, and some days might beharder than others.
If you are working throughsomething, and it's so important

(15:51):
for you to stay resilient, tostay rooted in your beliefs,
that this is just a moment intime in your beautiful life.
This will not be your wholelife if we choose that truth for
ourselves, and it's soempowering to know that we have

(16:12):
the option, that that option isthere for us to take if we want
it is there for us to take if wewant it.
I hope that if you are listeningto this and you are
experiencing working throughsome kind of disease or sickness
, that this shows you how muchpower you have to make this

(16:33):
experience something differentthan perhaps it has been for you
so far, and how what we say isalways creating a certain
reality for us in our lives, with our health, with our life,
with our career, with our family.

(16:55):
In every aspect of our life.
The same principles that wetalked about here today exist,
but I hope you see how much youcan really make this whatever it
is that you want.
You can lean into the season, decide to learn whatever lessons

(17:18):
are coming up with this season.
Decide to learn whateverlessons are coming up with this
and then move past it.
You have that ability.
You are magic.
Don't forget that.
Don't let anyone else tell youotherwise or deter you from
choosing to live life moreunconventionally than what is
normal and believing in yourself-healing abilities, because

(17:44):
they are within you.
They're there.
It's just a choice for us towant to tap into them, to allow
ourselves to tap into them.
And this is something that, forme, is so close to my heart,
because, before the age of 24, Iwas actually diagnosed with two

(18:06):
genetic diseases that have nocures, according to doctors, and
they're both degenerative innature, and I have chosen to
live unconventionally.
I have chosen to believe that nodisease defines you, and this
has been my path, regardless ofwhat doctors, family friends

(18:28):
have told me throughout my life.
This is a path I have chosen towalk and it's a path of
nurturing myself, my mind, mybody and soul, because I know
that magic lives within each andevery one of us.
Believe that miracles exist inthe world, because they do, and

(18:55):
if you believe it with all yourheart, incredible things can
happen.
I am sending you all so muchlove and a big hug until we
speak next time.
I hope you enjoyed this episode.
