SPEAKER_00 (01:12):
Good morning, good
afternoon, good evening.
Whenever you are listening tothis, it is the morning for me.
So good morning.
Welcome back to the podcastJourney to Well.
My name is Hannah, and I am heresolo today.
We're doing a solo podcastepisode.
(01:34):
And honestly, I love, love, lovehaving guests on the podcast,
but there's something so specialabout a solo podcast episode.
So I'm very excited.
Today we're gonna be doing alittle bit of a workshop.
We're gonna be having aconversation about fall energy,
(01:55):
how that aligns with our cyclesas women or the cycle of fall,
the energy that fall brings.
And if you're a man stilllistening to this, or if you're
a man listening to this, continue to listen to it because
it's not just about yourmenstrual cycle.
And we're also going to be tyingthat in with human design.
(02:16):
So one thing that I recognizedon my podcast is I don't have a
ton, ton of human design soloepisodes.
And that's very intentionalbecause I think that we can
learn human design in littlesnippets, and that's why we talk
human design on almost everypodcast episode.
(02:36):
I always bring up my guest'shuman design chart and typically
pull one piece out.
But today is a little bit morelike going to school.
We're going to connect humandesign and our menstrual cycle
or our cycle in general andshare insights for heading into
(02:59):
this fall, heading into the busyseason, because whether or not
you're thinking about it, thebeginning of October is the
beginning of falling intoHalloween, and then we have
Thanksgiving, and then we haveChristmas and New Year's.
(04:04):
So what we're really doing isliving in a little bit of
misalignment with how our bodiesnaturally want to live.
And I'm gonna dive into this andexplain this more.
But if this is your first timeon Journey to Well the podcast,
um, my name's Hannah, and I am aholistic business coach.
(04:27):
I work with mostly women, I dowork with some men, um, but we
work with human design, cyclealignment, and somatic breath
work.
And I work in all differentmodalities.
I do in-person events, groupevents, in-person one-on-one,
breath work journeys.
I work with clients one-on-onevirtually.
(04:49):
I have packages, I have intro tohuman design chart readings,
one-time readings.
Um, we have quite a variety hereat Journey to Well.
And I hang out mostly onInstagram.
So if you are not alreadyfollowing me on Instagram, let's
connect.
I would absolutely love nothingmore than to connect with you at
(05:11):
underscore journey to well.
And it is truly the honor of alifetime to come and hang out
with you, even though we're notsitting face to face.
I say this every solo podcastepisode, but I truly just
imagine and set the intentionthat we are sitting on a couch
with our cup of tea together.
I lit a candle, and we're justhaving a conversation.
(05:34):
And that's truly how I work withmy clients one-on-one.
And that's how I'm gonna workwith you today, listening.
So cheers, grab your cup of tea, grab your cup of cacao, coffee,
your water bottle, and let'sdive in.
So we're gonna start with thecycle of fall.
(05:59):
We have four main seasons in theworld in in North America, I
think in other Americas as well.
Uh, we have summer, fall, winter, spring.
And those four seasons are alsomirrors of the four phases that
(06:22):
we go through as women with ourmenstrual cycle.
Whether you are someone thatmenstruates or not, and that's a
really important thing to note,is a lot of times in the
beginning, women will say, Oh,we can't work together doing
cycle stuff because I ammenopausal or I am on the pill
and I don't get my period.
That doesn't matter in a niceway because you're a woman and
(06:50):
you're created this way anyway.
So we have our four phases ofour menstrual cycle, which is
summer represents the ovulationphase, fall represents the
alluteal phase, winterrepresents the menstrual phase,
and spring represents thefollicular phase.
I've done other podcast episodesbreaking down all of these
(07:12):
phases in great detail andconversation.
If you can't find the podcastepisodes, you can also head to
my YouTube channel, which is thesame at underscore journey to
well.
And I have an entire foldercreated just around cycles.
If this is something that's veryinteresting to you and that
you'd like to learn more about,I'm not gonna spend time going
(07:34):
over all four of them.
What we're really gonna do is doa mini deep dive on fall and
then transition into how thefall season can be in how we can
align best in the fall seasondepending on our human design
energy type.
So fall is like our lutealphase.
(07:55):
So this is a really beautifultime to slow down.
If you look in nature, theleaves are falling off the
trees.
Squirrels are getting all oftheir nuts and preparing to
hibernate, where it really theluteal phase or fall is really
preparing us for winter.
(08:15):
And it's this time that we canuse to prepare ourselves for
that hibernation, for that timeto slow down and really go
through that letting go processof our menstrual phase, right?
Of the actual bleed.
Um, but more um, what's theword?
(08:40):
Not so much physically, but moremetaphorically.
It's preparing us to let go andrelease and let go of the things
that are no longer serving us,that are holding us back, or
maybe at one time did serve usand just aren't serving us
anymore.
So then what we can do is createspace to call in more of what we
(09:05):
do want, to create space to thenbe able to receive more of what
we want.
So the fall energy is actuallyreally, really beautiful.
When I began this cyclealignment journey years ago, I
(09:26):
remember that, and there'sactually me having a
conversation uh with Emma.
I forget her last name in thismoment, but um go listen to a
podcast episode with Emma.
And I say this, I told her, Isaid, I have such a hard time
with my luteal phase and withfall.
I didn't really love the seasonof fall because I knew that it
(09:49):
was leading to winter.
And it's really fun for me tolook back and think about this
because one of the reasons thatI had so much difficulty in my
luteal phase and with the seasonof fall in general is because
fall is this invitation to slowdown.
(10:11):
And in my nervous system, I wasvery dysregulated.
I was always going, going,going.
I had a lot of trouble slowingdown.
It was very uncomfortable forme.
And I really didn't want to, tobe honest with you.
I really didn't want to slowdown.
Um and that can be approachedfrom so many different
(10:36):
perspectives for where I am nowin my life and a lot of the work
that I'm doing.
If you're someone that resonateswith this resistance to slowing
down, I would invite you toexplore your nervous system
because it's not just thismindset of slowing down, it's
(10:57):
also this lack of safety thatthe body feels because it's
stuck in the sympathetic state, stuck in the go, go, go.
And so when we go from 100 tozero and we try to stop and slow
down, our nervous system islike, wait, what?
What's happening?
(11:19):
Why are we stopping?
This is not okay.
This is different than thecourse that we've been running
on for the past however long.
I don't know how to slow down.
I don't know how to do this.
That might show up for you intrying to meditate, in trying
to, if you've listened to someof my recent podcast episodes,
(11:40):
we talk about uh slowing downand just sitting, just sitting
in your living room with nomusic on, with no TV on, just
sitting with a cup of tea.
You might feel that discomfort,or if you have a random extra 30
(12:02):
minutes of your day that aclient cancels, or you have 30
minutes before you have to gopick up the kids, or you wake up
30 minutes earlier, our natural, our normal reaction is to reach
for our phone or reach for somesort of distraction, whether
that's food or our phone orsocial media or TV or music, how
(12:27):
often do we slow down?
And so that is why fall can bedifficult for people.
It's also paired with these hugeholidays are cyclically not in
alignment with where our energy, where the energy of the universe
(12:51):
and where the energy of naturewants to be, and where our
bodily energy lies.
So I would be so curious toexperience Christmas in the
summer, where we're naturally inour our the energy of summer is
our ovulation phase, where wenaturally are more social and
(13:14):
want to go out and have thosefriends over and have the dinner
parties.
That would be so interesting toexperience.
Um, because cyclically, havingChristmas and Thanksgiving in
fall, and then the dead ofwinter, our bodies are wanting
and ready and craving thatslowing down and then the
(13:38):
hibernation.
So fall naturally pulls on ouryin energy.
So we have yin and yang, yin andyang, however you want to say
it.
We have that the yin energy ismore of um the feminine energy,
not effeminate energy, but thedivine feminine and masculine
(14:00):
energy that we've talked a lotabout on this podcast before as
well.
Um fall mirrors that yin energy,a time to go inward, a time to
be reflective, a time to reallyfocus on your grounding.
And so, my biggest invitation,I'm not even gonna save this to
the end.
The biggest invitation when talkabout the busyness of the
(14:24):
holidays and the busyness of ofwinter that can that can occur.
My biggest invitation is how canyou create space to ground to
create a little bit morereflection time?
How can you create a little bitof space to slow down?
(14:47):
It doesn't have to be this hugething, but how can you create a
little bit of space foryourself?
And my invitation might be alittle difficult for some
people, but my invitation is tocreate space each and every day.
And if you are going to argue, Idon't have time, I want you to
(15:12):
take a one-day, two-day map andnotice how much time you're
spending on social media on yourphone.
How much time are you spendingwatching TV?
How much time are you spendingdistracting yourself when you
(15:37):
could use that time to create alittle bit more nourishing
moments?
And that's not attacking you, that is said with love.
This is a reminder to myself aswell.
But at some point, we need toget sick and tired of the excuse
(15:59):
of I don't have the time.
So ways that we can begin toutilize this fall energy to
align with this fall energy sothat we come into the holidays
(16:20):
feeling prepared, feelingaligned, feeling grounded,
feeling safe and secure.
I don't remember.
It was a couple years ago.
I think I named it likebreakthrough the holiday or
something like that.
I did a six-week course where wejust gathered together on Zoom
(16:41):
and we used intentional time toset intentions of how we wanted
to move through this holidayseason because we can also get
really caught up in the busynessand like the hubbleb for no
reason.
(17:02):
When when we're able to slowdown, we're able to set
intentions of how do I actuallywant to show up with my in-laws
this Christmas?
How many houses do I actuallyreally want to go visit in one
day on the holidays?
How can I do it a little bitdifferently, making these small
adjustments so that I feel likeI am truly and not just thriving
(17:25):
on paper, but truly somaticallythriving through the winter
season.
Because I promise you, there arelittle things that I have done
each year that now I lookforward to fall and winter.
And y'all, I moved back fromNorth Carolina and then New
Jersey, and now I'm in NewHampshire.
(17:47):
It's cold up here.
Your girl's not made for thecold.
She doesn't like the cold.
I don't like the busyness of theholiday season.
But I do specific things everysingle day.
That last year, beautifulholiday season.
This year, setting myself up foranother great one.
(18:09):
So let's go through the fiveenergy types.
If you are not unfamiliar withyour human design, you can
absolutely listen to thisepisode.
And then I highly recommend thatyou go look up your human design
chart and find your human designenergy type.
It's going to be called eithermanifestor, generator,
(18:29):
manifesting generator,projector, or reflector.
And if you have already pulledyour chart, then just go remind
yourself of what energy type youare so you can specifically tune
into that portion of thisepisode.
But also listen to all fivebecause you may be able to
(18:50):
pinpoint your brothers, yoursisters, your partners, your
kids, your parents, whoever youspend time with, and see what
insight you can share with themfor this holiday season as well.
Because when we are able toalign ourselves, we can then
offer some support to help otherpeople feel more aligned in our
(19:15):
life.
And that's just gonna make thisbusy season, this fall season,
more in flow and occur with moreease.
So let's start with ourbeautiful manifestors.
Manifestors are really yourinvitation for this fall season
(19:36):
is really to refine yourimpulses and recharge your
creative fire.
So as a reminder, manifestorsreally work with these births,
bursts, not births, bursts.
That's an interesting word tosay, bursts of energy.
So they don't have that reallyconsistent energy.
(20:00):
They tend to get a download andthen initiate it and spend some
time initiating, and then theygo back into their hibernation
to recharge, prepare themselvesfor the next download, get that
next download, get that insight, get the initiation started
(20:22):
again.
So with manifestors, that istruly your invitation to settle
into this fall is to slow down,to spark intentionality.
Using the stillness and thereflection of fall energy to
pause before you initiate.
(20:45):
Not every idea needs immediateaction.
Not every idea needs to be actedon.
Deciding what truly lights youup, what's bringing you
momentum, and running with thatwhen you feel called to, and
taking plenty of time forsolitude.
(21:07):
Fall truly supports that needfor rest.
This actually may be asupportive time for you if
you're a manifester, becausemanifestors, when they're living
in their highest alignment, theytruly value and honor their time
of rest and honor that creationof space.
(21:28):
So manifestors, your cycle thatwas really easy to tie into
right now in this fall energy,is uh mirrored by the menstrual
phase.
So the menstrual phase isactually this really beautiful
invitation for all of us everytime we're menstruating to slow
(21:49):
down, to then create that spacefor the clarity and the
authentic inspiration.
And so that is what yourinvitation is this fall, my
manifestors, is to really honor.
How can you create even moreceremony and ritual around
slowing down?
How can you create even morehonor in slowing down and
(22:12):
creating that space?
And then play around with andsee how that inspiration and
insight just more easily dropsin for you.
Next energy type is generators.
So generators, your theme is tosimplify, streamline, and do
(22:33):
what genuinely feels satisfying.
So here, generators, we arefinding the satisfaction in the
slowdown.
So generators as an as areminder, generators are kind of
like that that energizer bunny.
They have that gear that'sthat's pretty constant energy
(22:56):
when we are doing what lights usup.
So if you're a generator andyou're like, I don't know that I
have constant energy, um itmight be this invitation to look
into am I doing what lights meup?
Am I truly living in that themeof satisfaction, that alignment
(23:18):
theme of satisfaction?
So here are some fallinvitations for you generators
that you can really feel intoand feel if this, if you feel a
little bit of a ting of yoursacral centers saying, hmm,
yeah, that might be a good ideato look into.
Clearing out our fall energiesare really good time to clear
(23:40):
out commitments or routines thatfeel heavy, that feel forced.
How can you declutter yourenergetic plate?
That's a good one.
How can you declutter yourenergetic plate when you're
thinking about and reflecting ormoving through your daily
(24:02):
rituals and routines?
What the generator of clients isfeeling into what does
(24:25):
satisfaction feel like in mybody?
How does satisfaction show up inmy body?
Creating more space for yoursacral center to respond to the
slower rhythms of the season.
(24:45):
So maybe creating space andcooking those warming meals,
maybe going on the long walks, maybe exploring what may light
up your sacral center that youhaven't explored in a while.
Maybe exploring some creativenew hobbies.
What can you incorporate nowthat you're letting go of these
(25:07):
routines and these commitmentsthat are not serving you?
What can you incorporate thatwill serve you?
So the cyclical part that reallyties into our generator energy
type is the luteal phase.
So this luteal phase is trulywhere we use discernment and we
add some grounding.
(25:29):
And this helps us focus ourenergy on what truly is bringing
us joy, what's truly lighting usup.
Moving on to our manifestinggenerators now.
This is my energy type.
Our theme is to release what'sno longer lighting you up and
redirecting your energy towardsmore aligned passions.
(25:53):
So, like similar to generators, our manifesting generator
invitations are to audit theprojects, all of the interests,
all of the multifaceted piecesthat we've been that we've been
engaged in.
Do a little audit.
Fall is a good time to slow downand and pause and reflect and
(26:17):
look at what is still exciting, what feels stale now.
Let yourself multitask less.
Manifesting generators, we liketo balance a lot on our plate.
We like multiple things.
We like to have our hands andmultiple different interests.
(26:40):
And that this is all beautifuland this is all welcome.
But once again, I'm gonna inviteyou to reflect.
What can I slow down in toinvite more depth?
(27:01):
How can I dive a little bitdeeper into these interests
instead of surface level beinterested and have my hand in
five different pots?
What if I created a little bitmore space?
How could I create a little bitmore space?
Maybe by letting go of two ofthese interests, two of these
projects that feel stale, thataren't lighting me up anymore,
(27:22):
so that I can create a littlebit more depth in the three
projects or interests that areleft.
Another invitation is to embracethe art of completion.
Fall is all about inviting us totie up these loose ends before
the hibernation of winter.
(27:42):
So, how can I focus oncompleting some of these
projects, interests, to-do listitems?
It's even maybe clearing out theinbox, responding and catching
up on the inbox.
Focusing on that for themanifesting generators.
(28:04):
Our cycle tie-in is late lutealphase here, where our energy is
naturally ready to turn inwardand wants to simplify and wants
to tie up the loose ends.
That's your focus this fall, manifesting generators.
Moving on to our beautifulprojectors.
(28:24):
Your theme here is to deepenyour wisdom and refine your
guidance.
Projectors, if you've beenworking with your energy and
aligning your energy for awhile, you know that
prioritizing rest is veryimportant for you.
You know that clearing out yourenergy centers, stepping away
(28:48):
from others' energy to be inyour own energy, to clear out
your energy, to create moreclarity so that you can tune in
to your beautiful wisdom andguidance is very important.
So, your invitations this fallis to prioritize rest, reading
and learning.
(29:09):
Allow your insights to developand your intuition to ripen.
Once again, reviewing yourboundaries.
Where are you overextending orovergiving?
Where are you overextending andover giving because you feel
that you need to prove yourworth or your worthiness or that
(29:33):
you are so you are your right tobe here?
Reviewing those boundaries.
Where are you saying yes whereyou should be saying no?
And overextending yourself.
And creating, continuing tocreate that time for intimate,
cozy connections instead ofthose big social scenes.
(29:55):
Projectors can do very well inthe intimate connections because
that is where a lot of theirguidance and their intuition can
come out.
They're more easily able to tapinto their intuition.
So grounding in rest andreflection, my projectors.
(30:15):
How can you do that?
What does that look like?
And how does that feel?
Really noticing how that feelshow much how can you naturally
invite more in instead ofchasing it?
And that's truly by focusing onyourself and grounding your
(30:36):
energy and clearing your energybecause your energy is actually
magnetic and you can bringpeople in when you're aligned
and clear.
And lastly, we're going to endwith our reflectors.
Your theme is align withnature's rhythm and own your
(30:56):
cycles.
So reflectors are very affectedby the moon cycles or by cycle
in general.
So maybe you're feeling Thisfall energy shift pretty deeply.
That's beautiful.
So your invitations this fall isto really reflect on your year
(31:16):
so far.
Reflectors have have a littlebit of that like bigger picture.
They have a little bit of adifferent timeline than the
other energy types.
So reflecting on your year sofar, what energies have
supported you and what energieshave drained you?
Maybe focusing on creating somemore grounding rituals, moon
(31:37):
journaling, spending time innature, energy cleansing
practices, just like projectors, projectors and reflectors, but I
would argue really anyone thathas a lot or a decent amount of
open or undefined centers intheir human design chart.
So you can pull up your bodygraph chart and you'll see all
(31:59):
these shapes.
And some of the shapes arecolored in, some of them are
white or not colored in.
And the more white or notcolored in centers you have,
that means the more undefined oropen centers you have.
And so really working with umenergy clearing practices could
be very supportive for you.
(32:22):
And you can always reach out tome to have that conversation.
I love talking about how we canclear our energy.
So whether that's sage, grounding, incense, kapal, um,
doing some energy practices onourselves.
So there's actual energy workthat we can do on ourselves,
(32:44):
Reiki.
There's so much that we can talkabout here.
So reflectors, truly, yourinvitation here is to release
what's not yours.
How can I, how can I releasewhat is not mine?
Your cycle alignment here is umlike the moon.
(33:07):
Fall amplifies our connection tothose shifting energies.
So honoring that variabilityinstead of forcing the
consistency.
So really feeling into thevariability of every day.
Reflectors can feel the shiftsof every day.
So how can I lean more intothat?
(33:30):
And how can I continue toconnect with the moon cycles and
the moon phases?
And that's um with theoverarching energy of fall as
well as the astrological changeseach and every day, and the
positioning, right, of the themoon to the earth.
(33:53):
So those are our five energytypes.
That's a little bit about thefall energy.
I hope that it was I hope thatit sparked some insight and some
inspiration in you because oneof one of the biggest
invitations that I ask myselfthat I've really explored is how
(34:15):
can I create less chaos in theseseasons?
Historically, fall and winterhave been the most difficult
seasons for me, whether, youknow, whether we kind of come
from that as a per come fromthat perspective of, oh, well,
it's just cold and there's lesssun and I'm not able to go
(34:37):
outside and I'm not getting asmuch vitamin D and I'm not
moving my body as much.
I mean, those are all realthings.
But at what point are weallowing those to be an excuse
versus acknowledging them andthen asking ourselves, okay, so
what can I do?
(34:59):
One of my goals this year, withthis winter, because I did it
last winter.
One of my goals is to getoutside every single morning and
walk, even if it's 10 minutes.
I I warm up uh hot water withlemon.
I always have hot water withlemon, but I bring it out with
me on my walk.
So I have warm water when it'sfreezing out, and I'll put it in
(35:21):
uh, you know, like a thermosthing.
Um and I have my little handwarmers and I have my fuzzy
socks and my boots and mysweater and my coat and my hat
and my gloves.
And I go out for 10 minutes, andI allow the sun to hit my face
and I allow my body to move andI allow myself to breathe in the
(35:42):
fresh air.
That's a really simple shiftthat we can make instead of
telling ourselves that excuse isreally what it is.
That excuse of, oh, it's justtoo cold, I can't go outside.
How much accountability do youwant to take this fall and this
winter for yourself?
(36:05):
Make sure if you are not alreadyfollowing me on Instagram, I
would love to share this journeyof fall with you.
And I would love for you toconnect with me.
Here's your invitation, myprojectors.
But for everyone, um, let'sconnect, let's support each
other.
Share your favorite fallactivities of how you feel that
(36:28):
you are really staying inalignment or sinking back into
alignment.
I would love to hear your ideas.
I'm not the one that has all theanswers or all the all the best
answers.
I would love to share your ideasand your insights with our
community so that we can alltruly feel aligned and connected
(36:49):
and grounded going into theholiday season.
It doesn't have to be chaotic.
And fall doesn't have to be thedifficult season.
That's that's up to you.
That's truly up to you.
It's been so fun chatting withyou today and hanging out with
you.
(37:10):
I will see you soon, my friend.
Be well.
