Speaker 2 (00:28):
God bless you all and
welcome to another podcast
episode of Join this Journey byFaithline.
God bless you all again.
It is such an honor to be here.
Happy 4th of July.
I'm praying amen that this wordcan be received on this day.
If you are not getting to thispodcast today and you are
(00:48):
listening to it after 4th ofJuly, we are still celebrating
Amen, not only on this day, butevery day.
The freedom that God has givenus to be able to serve him, to
honor him and glorify him, andespecially in these last days.
This is a word that the Lordhas placed in my heart.
He brought me to these Bibleverses and I invite you to amen.
(01:13):
Join me in the word of the Lordtoday.
And we're going to be readingin the book of John, chapter 8,
verse 31 through 36.
And it says Thenesus said tothose jews who believed him if
you abide in my word, you are mydisciples indeed, and you shall
know the truth, and the truthshall set you free.
(01:36):
They answered him.
We are abraham's descendantsand we have never been in
bondage to anyone.
How can you say you will befree?
Jesus answered them.
Most assuredly.
I say to you whoever commitssin is a slave of sin, and a
(01:58):
slave does not abide in thehouse forever, but a son abides
forever.
Therefore, if the son makes youfree, you shall be free indeed.
And so, on this day ofindependence day, as we
celebrate our freedom in the usand people might find this
(02:21):
strange for me to say but noteveryone is free in this country
, and not only in this country, amen, but goes for other ones as
well.
And I'm not speaking only, youknow, politically, but I'm
talking spiritually in thismoment.
And we see people here inAmerica and they're celebrating,
(02:46):
you know, with their colors andand celebrating with the
fireworks, and really in theirlives they're not really free.
And if we look around and we,we just give ourselves, you know
, to the Lord and let him touchour eyes, our sight, amen.
And if we see in the spirit, wecan see.
(03:07):
It is so obvious and so vividthat around us, in a free
country, we see bitterness, wesee anger, and that is not
freedom.
We see a constant struggle tohave more money and more
material things, and that is notfreedom.
(03:28):
We see people with fear, fearliving in fear, fear of death,
fear of sickness, and we seepeople spending whatever they
have possible to stay alive andseeking solutions to feel better
, and that is not freedom.
We see around pride and sinthrough the streets and that is
(03:50):
not freedom.
And this is something that weneed to understand that even
though we live in a country thatis free, still majority are not
living free.
And it's sad because we can saywe are free but still not free.
At the same time and this iswhat Jesus is dealing with the
(04:11):
disciples at this moment we seethat the Jews, in that day, in
his day, in Jesus's day, theywere very proud and they were
proud of their freedom, as youand I are.
You know, not to only beAmericans but to also live in
the in the United States.
And you know many are, you know, with that proudness of living
in the United States.
(04:31):
And, as they said, we areAbraham's descendants and have
never been slaves to anyone andthat, if you stop and look at it
, that sounds very Americanbecause we see how we say we're
no one's slaves, we walk aroundwith freedom.
You know we have our flag andthat represents amen, our
(04:52):
freedom in the United States, but people are not living free
and a lot of us walk around withthat pride, proudness, just
like the Jewish people sayingwe've never been slaves to
anyone, saying we've never beenslaves to anyone.
But if you listen to Jesus'sresponse here, he says very
(05:15):
truly I tell you, everyone whosins is a slave to sins, amen.
So those Jews were wrong aboutthe freedom, because the real
master in our world isn't aforeign country, isn't a country
that's trying to come againstus, because we're just so
focused on the war andeverything that's happening
around us and we're soconcentrated of people trying to
master over us, master over ourcountry, master over our
freedom.
But we're missing.
(05:37):
You know where it's all comingfrom, and the bible says
everyone who sins is a slave tosin.
And it's hard for people toagree.
But if we, if we could just diga little deeper and understand
sin, what is?
What is the sins he's talkingabout?
And in the sins that he'stalking about is when greed
(05:58):
grabs your heart.
In a free country, greed cangrab your heart, and when greed
grabs your heart, it controlsyour life.
That means you're beingcontrolled by something and
you're not free.
When bitterness fills your mindand it guides your tongue, you
are not free.
When alcohol or lust controlsyour body, you are not free.
(06:20):
So everyone who sins is a slaveto sin, and you can argue all
you want, but you, living in afree country, you're still not
living free.
So we God brings us here tomake us understand Amen, and we
need to take a moment andrealize that true freedom is not
(06:43):
only living in America or theUnited States.
True freedom, and that's ablessing.
I'm not knocking and I thankGod for that honor and those who
have fought for our freedom, and God bless them, amen.
But in our lives many of us arenot living free.
We say it's a free country andwe take that excuse oh, I can,
(07:03):
can do whatever I want, and weare not free.
People say, oh, I got the age,I can do whatever I want, and we
are not free.
So we can have all thosethoughts in our minds.
But if you want to stop, justtake a minute and stop and ask
yourself where did this allbegin?
And it all began.
It all started, amen, in thegarden of eden, when the enemy
(07:27):
came through the snake amen andhe says you can do what you want
, you can eat this fruit andthen you will be free, then you
will have the knowledge of goodand evil.
He comes with a lie.
Do whatever you want.
You have the age, you have thefreedom.
It it's your decision.
And so here in the US, we seethat.
We see you have freedom.
(07:49):
You have freedom to drink asmuch as you want.
You have freedom to commitadultery as much as you want.
You have freedom to save asmuch money as you want.
You have freedom to hate anddespise and boost as much as you
want.
And that is not freedom.
Remember, you can be free andstill not be free at the same
(08:09):
time, the more you get what youwant, the more you are being a
slave in your life.
And it's very true and, as hardas it is, it brings sin,
because then we are open to dowhat we want.
We have an attitude to say well, god, you're second in place
and well, I'll get to you when Ican because I'm doing what I
(08:30):
want to do.
And everyone who sins is aslave to sin.
So if we really want to be free,we have to listen to Jesus, we
have to listen to his word andhe speaks right to the Jews, and
I love that about Jesus becausehe was never, never intimidated
(08:50):
by them and he came to them.
He says to the Jews who havebelieved in him.
He says if you hold to myteachings, you are really my
disciples.
Then you will know the truth, and the truth shall set you free
.
If you hold onto my teachings, are you holding onto God's
(09:11):
teachings, are you holding ontohis word?
We call ourselves Christiansand disciples of Christ, but
we're living bound to sin, boundto pride, bound to greediness,
bound to hate, bound tobitterness, and we're not living
free.
But if you hold on to Jesus'steachings, then you are really
(09:31):
his disciples and then you willknow the truth, because the
teachings of Jesus will set youfree.
It would bring light, it wouldbring truth, so you are not
bound to sin, so you're notbound to what the enemy wants to
do in your life.
That you can truly not only sayI am free in this country, but
I am free.
Amen, as a child of God.
(09:53):
Getting our way isn't freedomand not in Jesus's sight,
freedom doesn't come from acountry or a political party.
Getting our way isn't freedomand not in Jesus's sight,
freedom doesn't come from acountry or a political party.
It comes from the truth.
The truth, what truth?
The truth of Jesus.
And that truth will set youfree.
Set you free from what?
The lies of the devil, the liesthat he's come to bound you
(10:18):
with and that's all.
He's come is to bound our lives, to stop us from living in
truth and in true freedom.
He comes with.
The life of freedom is doingwhat you want.
No freedom is living in thetruth.
Freedom is living in thefreedom, knowing that Jesus is
for us and what Jesus did for usand what did Jesus do for you
(10:40):
and me.
He came to die on that crossand if the sun sets you free,
you will be free.
Indeed, there is nothing tohold you back, there is nothing
to bring you into darkness, there is nothing for you to make
you disobey God.
The light of God is there tohelp you live in a free, free
life.
First John, chapter one, verseseven, says but if we walk in
(11:04):
the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one
another.
There it is fellowship andthat's that's through the truth
of Jesus Christ and the blood ofJesus Christ, his son, cleans
us from all sin.
God has called us to be infellowship with one another and
we are not free because all weare is bickering with each other
(11:27):
, bitterness with each other, anger with each other.
There is so much hate in thisworld, so much going on in this
world, that the enemy is usingto have a field day going on in
this world, that the enemy isusing to have a field day.
But god says if you walk in thelight which I am in the light
you will have fellowship withone another.
We're not here to be eachother's enemies.
We're here to unite because inunity there is strength and
(11:52):
through unity we are united inchrist, and whoever is in christ
has received amen, the blood ofJesus Christ, which cleans us
from all our sins.
We don't have to carry guiltanymore because Jesus amen has
died for you and me, and thattruth will set you free, will
set you free from not beingenemies with your brother and
(12:14):
sister anymore, will not beenemies with anyone in your home
anymore, with your family.
It will not let you be enemiesanymore, because now you're
walking in the light, in thetruth.
The truth brings light and thelight is jesus christ and he has
come to set you and me free.
The apostle paul minding you inwhich is not free, that doesn't
(12:40):
count as freedom.
He knew he was still free andthe Apostle Paul wrote amen in
Philippians 1, verse 21 says forme to live is Christ and to die
is gain, and he wrote this ashe sat in a prison is gain, and
(13:02):
he wrote this as he sat in theprison, but he was free Even in
prison.
The truth will set you free.
Why?
Because we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do
good work, says Ephesians 2.10.
And that truth will set youfree.
Being in the word of God, itsets you free because it is the
word of God, it is truth thathas come to set you free.
(13:23):
So, if we take a moment todaycelebrating the 4th of July,
celebrating this freedom in ourcountry, what do we need?
Not only do we need freedom inthis country, we need freedom,
freedom, freedom in Jesus Christ, not in a certain political
party, not in changes of law.
(13:44):
What we need is truth and whatwe need is freedom.
And we need that and we canonly get that through God's word
, through God, amen.
He is here to change our livesand being in him.
We need more of God and beingin him and his word.
It changes our hearts, itchanges our minds.
(14:07):
Whenever you feel down by life, whenever you feel down by
everything that's happening inthis world, or sin, god's truth
will set you free.
Whenever you are feelingtrapped by worry, god's truth
will set you free.
Whenever you are feelingtrapped by worry, god's truth
will set you free.
Whenever you feel surrounded bysadness, god's truth will set
you free.
Jesus says if you hold on to myteachings, hold to my teachings
(14:32):
, you are really my disciples.
Then you will know the truthand the truth will set you free.
So, if you really want tocelebrate your freedom, read the
word.
If you really want to celebrateyour freedom, come on, ask
Jesus to take his place in yourheart.
(14:53):
If you want to celebratefreedomesus, the son of god, is
the one to set you free.
So not only that, we celebrateamen, the freedom in our country
, the protection that we have inour country.
We are to celebrate our freedomin christ, freedom from sin,
(15:15):
freedom from this world, freedomfrom everything that sin
produces.
We are free through jesuschrist.
And I am here today, amen, togive you this word that it's not
only one day and it's not onlyjust about, amen, the united
states, even though we prayevery day that god bless america
(15:36):
, that god bless our lives, thatGod bless our lives, that God
bless our freedom, but this isalso our freedom, amen, in the
spiritual.
And so I don't know what'sholding you back.
I don't know you know what yourfight is today, but I know that
you can find freedom in theblood of Jesus Christ.
Father, god, we come before youin jesus name and I thank you,
(16:00):
god, for your love and yourmercy.
Thank you, god, for another daythat you have blessed us, and
in this day, god of fourth ofjuly, we celebrate now,
beginning with you, lord, butnot only our freedom in the
united states, but we, god, celebrate the freedom that we

from the bondage of sin.

, lord, so we can be chain andbound to the ways of this world,
lord, but you have called us.
Out of that.
You have called us, god, towalk in the light.

rebuke sin, to rebuke the waysof the world, god, god, you have
called us into the light, god,may we hear your voice and
respond.
(17:02):
Lord, because, god, you havecalled us into freedom.
You have called us, god, tolive free, free from bitterness
and hate that is working in thisworld.
God, you see how the enemy haslifted up God to bring one
against the other, to bringfamilies against each other, god
, you have seen how he has triedto corrupt the homes in the
(17:24):
hearts and minds.
But I call upon you, lord, inthe name of Jesus, that whoever
listens to this word God cansurrender to you, god, that they
can be the beginning God offreedom, not only for their
lives, god, but for those aroundthem.
Lord, because you have calledus, god, to be instruments.
(17:45):
We are the body of Christ.
We are your hands, god, we areyour feet, god, we are the mouth
, lord, to preach the word andthe good news.
In this day, god, let us notforget not only the freedom in
this wonderful United States, but you are the freedom, god.
Hallelujah.
In our lives, in our spirituallives.
(18:06):
May we open God the way, god, because you are the truth, you
are the way, you are the light, god, may we open the way, let us
be instruments to be.
God, the way to you.
Bring freedom into our lives, and not only in our lives, but
in our homes, in our hallelujah.
In our marriages.
(18:27):
May you bring freedom, god, inthe children.
God, may you bring freedom andpeace, god.
In the name of Jesus, god in thechurches, lord, god, that we
stand together in Jesus torebuke all lies of the enemy, to
rebuke all darkness.
In the name of Jesus, we callupon you, lord, because there is
(18:50):
power in the blood of Jesus.
Cover us, lord, cover ourfamilies, cover our marriages,
cover our homes, god.
Cover us, god.
Cover our minds, cover ourhearts, god.
We need you, jesus, in a countrythat is free, lord, god, people

They're living in fear, god, they're living in bitterness and

anger, they're living inconfusion.
But, god, you have come todayto set us free and may everyone
