"Awake, sleeper, and rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you." These powerful words from Ephesians 5:14 serve as both an urgent alarm and a loving invitation to believers who have fallen into spiritual slumber.

Many Christians today find themselves going through the motions of faith while their hearts remain disconnected from God's transformative power. This spiritual lethargy leaves us vulnerable to our enemy who, as 1 Peter 5:8 warns, "prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour." The sleeping believer becomes easy prey for an enemy determined to destroy.

God's wake-up call isn't meant to condemn but to rescue. He longs to transform us by "the renewing of our mind" (Romans 12:2), calling us out of darkness and into His marvelous light. When Jesus declared, "I am the light of the world" (John 8:12), He promised that those who follow Him "will not walk in darkness but will have the light of life." This divine illumination exposes what needs changing in our lives while providing the clarity and strength to make those changes.

The urgency of this message cannot be overstated. We can no longer live with "one foot in the world," conforming to its patterns and priorities. As we approach Christ's return, spiritual alertness becomes not just beneficial but essential. A sleeping church will miss the trumpet call; an awakened church will shine as beacons of hope in an increasingly dark world.

Have you been spiritually sleepwalking through life? Join us and countless others who are answering God's call to wake up, arise, and let Christ shine upon us today.

, verse 14.
Amen, and we read the word ofthe Lord in the name of the
Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Amen, Awake, sleeper, and risefrom the dead, and Christ will

(00:54):
shine on you Through his word.
Today, God is giving a call, call to all who are sleeping to
awake from a spiritual slumberand to live in the light of
Christ In this verse.
Paul's exhortation in Ephesians5 is to live as children of

(01:19):
light, and he encourages us andthat time he encouraged them to
avoid living in darkness andavoid living ungodly lives.
Awake, sleeper.
It's a state of spiritualempathy and complacency where

(01:42):
believers are not fully engagedin their faith and are not
living according to God's will.
And these are people that Godare calling.
God is calling you because hewants you to live in the light.
He says arise from the dead, which signifies a new life in

(02:07):
Christ and a transformation, amen, from a life of sin and
darkness to a life ofrighteousness and light and
Christ is here to help you to beon alert, because in these days
that we are living, we must bein alert.
There's a lot of attacks of theenemy, because his purpose, the

(02:29):
enemy's purpose, is to finishwith you.
In 1 Peter 5, verse 8, itstates Be alert, be sober-minded
, because your adversity, thedevil, prowls around like a
roaring lion, seeking someone todevour.
And who is he seeking?

(02:50):
One that is asleep spiritually.
So he encourages us to be alert, to have self-control, urging
us to be aware, aware of whatDanger, danger of who?
The enemy, when he comes withtemptation, when he comes to
surround us to bring us down, because that is his purpose is

(03:15):
to bring us down and finish withour life.
But God, because he loves usand he sees for us, he is
calling us to be on alert, to beawakened, because there is an
enemy, an enemy against us,children of God, christians,
those who have decided for himand those who have not decided.

(03:38):
God is urging you to come tohim, because the enemy is out to
destroy anyone that he can him, because the enemy is out to
destroy anyone that he can.
He is prowling around like aroaring lion to destroy, to
devour.
He is a dangerous predator, constantly seeking an
opportunity to attack.
And that is what he is doing.

(04:00):
He is attacking everyone he canto finish with them, so they
cannot come to Christ.
God is saying come to me, don'tsettle for this world.
In Romans 12, verse 2, it saysdo not conform to the patterns
of this world, but betransformed by the renewing of

(04:21):
your mind.
And the only way you canreceive that renewing of your
mind is only if you are awake.
And who can awake you?
God.
And the call of God is callingtoday upon your life so you can
be awoken from that spiritualslumber.
There are too many that aretaking it easy.

(04:43):
There are too many conformingto the pattern of this world.
There are too many conformingto the pattern of this world.
But god wants to transform youby the renewing of your mind to
understand.
God doesn't want you to livethat way.
He wants you to live in light.
Come to christ, open yourselfto him so he can shine upon you.

(05:05):
God wants to bring you into thelight.
You've lived long enough indarkness and God is encouraging
us today, hallelujah.
God is encouraging you today tobe transformed.
And when you're transformed, when your mind is transformed,
hallelujah by the hand of God.

(05:25):
Your focus is different.
Your focus is on the truth ofGod.
And when you're focused on thetruth of God, your focus is
different.
Your focus is on the truth ofGod, and when you're focused on
the truth of God, then you areliving a life that is aligned
with the will of God.
So do not be conformed.
Do not stay in that slumber.
Do not stay there, but come out, because God wants you to enter

(05:50):
in the light, because God isthe light of the world.
John 8, verse 12,.
Jesus declares I am the lightof the world.
God is shining light on you soyou can see the truth, so that
way you don't live.
Hallelujah that you don't livein that spiritual slumber

(06:12):
anymore.
He says I am the light of theworld.
Whoever follows me will notwalk in darkness but will have
light of life.
He is the source of allspiritual truth and guidance.
Following him.
It leads us to the light, itleads us to understanding.

(06:33):
It leads us to eternal life.
Let God lead you today, but theonly way he can lead you if you
wake up.
Wake up in time to followChrist, because he is.
He is the way.
So God today encourages you towake up.

(06:53):
He calls to believers to wakeup from a spiritual slumber.
Wake up because Christ is thelight.
Christ is the only way.
We can no longer live indarkness.
We can no longer live in twowaters.
We can no longer live indarkness.
We can no longer live in twowaters.
We can no longer take it slowly.

(07:13):
God is at the door, he is aboutto call his church, and if you
are asleep, you will not be ableto hear the trumpet sound.
And so, as Paul exhorts theEphesians, god, through his word
, brings it to us today to letus understand.

(07:36):
We must be awake.
This is the time to be awakeand not asleep.
This is the time to be alive.
Rise from the dead.
Rise from what's been wantingto bring you down, that's been
wanting to keep you hallelujah.
In that deadness, thatspiritual deadness, god wants to
take you out and transform yourlife from darkness into light,

(08:00):
because when you step intochrist, he will shine upon you.
It's time that us christiansshine in these last days to show
the truth to this world.

God has called us to beexamples.
We must wake up, and you thathasn't made a decision.
Make your decision today.

(08:20):
Get out of the darkness, shakeyourself and let Christ shine
upon you.
So he is our source and he iswhat we need.
And so God is calling you outof darkness, god is calling you
out of that sleepiness, god iscalling you out of that
spiritual slumber.
