Speaker 2 (00:29):
God bless you all and welcome to another podcast
episode from Join this Journeyby Faithline.
I am super excited, like always, to be here with you to share
with you another Bibledevotional that God has placed
amen on our hearts, and I amjust so grateful to each and

(00:50):
every one of you that join usweekly to listen and be blessed
as well through the word of God,amen.
Today's Bible devotional willbe in the book of 2 Peter, 3,
verse 9.
And we read the word of theLord in the name of the Father,

(01:21):
son and Holy Spirit Amen.
The Lord is not slow in keepinghis promise, as some understand
slowness.
Instead, he is patient with toknow Christ through repentance,
forgiveness, faith and alifetime of loving intimacy.
Jesus came the first time toearth as our Savior and before
he was crucified he promisedthat he would prepare a place

(01:43):
for us in his Father's house andthat he will come back and take
us to be with him, that we alsomay be where he is.
John 14, 23 says my father'shouse has many rooms.
If that were not so, would Ihave told you that I am going

(02:03):
there to prepare a place for you, and if I go and prepare a
place for you.
I will come back and take youto be with me, that you also may
be where I am.
That right, there is a greatpromise for each and every one
of us that perseveres to thevery end, that he will be back.
Christ will come again, and hewill come again as our judge,

(02:28):
and he waits so that theunredeemed have time to believe
and become sons and daughters ofthe Almighty.
God's will is for salvationsalvation in Jesus and not
eternity in hell apart from him.
In Jesus and not eternity inhell apart from him.

(02:49):
Like the door of Noah's ark, eventually that time frame is
going to close, so theopportunity to trust Christ and
to know who he is is slowlyslipping away.
For many, the floodwatersmeaning death will one day drown
us.
Waters meaning death will oneday drown us.

(03:11):
Will we be ready?
God is ringing the bell andcalling our attention to run to
him, to go to him while there'sstill time.
Salvation and safety can onlybe found in our Savior, our Lord
and Savior, jesus Christ.
It says in Psalms 103.8,.
The Lord is compassionate andgracious, slow to anger,

(03:33):
abounding in love.
That's right, yes, the Lord ispatient, he is love, and he
invites us to repent, to trustin him, because he does not want
us to perish.
He is there to love us, toforgive us and to renew us, to

(03:54):
take us out of that rebellion.
And he is there so that weshall not be found guilty in
front of his presence, be foundguilty in front of his presence.
Numbers 14, 18 says the Lord isslow to anger, abounding in
love and forgiving sin andrebellion.
Yet he does not leave theguilty unpunished.

(04:17):
He punishes the children forthe sin of the parents to the
third and fourth generation.
So we still have time to warnothers of the judgment to come,
and some will mock, others willact indifferent, but there will
be those who will find refuge inJesus.

(04:37):
Romans 2, verse 4, says Many ofthe people who have done
religious things, prayed thesinner's prayer, given money

(04:59):
served in churches, will beeternally lost Because they have
never made Jesus Christ theLord of their life.
In Proverbs 14, 12 it saysthere is a way that seems right
to man, but its end is the wayto death.
There are true and falsedisciples, as we hear Jesus say

(05:22):
In Matthew 7, verses 21 to 23,.
It says there are true andfalse disciples, as we hear
Jesus say In Matthew 7, verses21 to 23,.
It says Not everyone who saysto me, lord, lord, will enter
the kingdom of heaven, but onlythe one who does the will of my
Father who is in heaven.
Many will say to me on that day, lord lord, didn't, did we not

(05:46):
prophesy in your name and and inyour name, drive out demons and
in your name, perform anymiracles?
Then I will tell them plainly Inever knew you.
Away from me, you evil doers.
The patience of our HeavenlyFather is the model for us to

(06:07):
follow.
We are surrounded by a sea ofthose who need salvation.
They are drowning in their sin.
By offering them the lifepreserver of faith, hope and
love for Jesus, we can rescuethe perishing.
It should be our daily prayerto ask the Father to convict the
lost through the Holy Spirit, and that he would give us the

(06:28):
wisdom to lead those he placesin our paths so we can teach
them from the scripture how toreceive salvation through the
saving blood of Jesus Christ.
Once saved, we help them togrow in their faith and in the
knowledge of what the Bibleteaches, so they can live a

(06:50):
fruitful life, for the Lord.
God loves us and does not wantanyone to perish.
Jesus showed love throughout hiswhole ministry, but he also
knew those who would and wouldnot follow him.
One day, when he was speakingto the Pharisees, in Matthew 15,

(07:12):
verses 8 through 9, he saidthese people honor me with their
lips, but their hearts are farfrom me.
They worship me in vain.
Their teachings are merelyhuman rules.
In Matthew 15, verse 14, itsays, and he continued leave
them.
They are blind guides.

(07:33):
If the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.
Even though God wants all hispeople to be saved, he knows
there are those who are notgoing to listen and in his mercy
, he is slow to punish and he isgiving each and every one of us

(07:54):
the opportunity to make ourways right before him.
In 1 Timothy, chapter 2, verse4, it says even though God wants
all people to be saved and tocome to a knowledge of truth,
but he knows once again thosewho does not want the truth.
It is our hope and our prayerthat everyone will open their

(08:19):
hearts to the truth that God hasplaced before us.
It is our Father's hope andbecause it is His hope and those
who have opened their hearts toHim, it has become theirs as
well, that not one should perish.
And so we thank Him for Hispatience and continue obeying
His commands, because he hasleft us with the truth before

(08:44):
ascending into heaven.
And with that truth we have aresponsibility as the church of
Jesus Christ to go and makedisciples of all nations.
It says in Matthew, chapter 28,verse 19 through 20,.
Therefore, go and makedisciples of all nations,

(09:04):
baptizing them in the name ofthe Father and of the Son and of
the Holy Spirit, and teachingthem to obey everything I have
commanded you, and surely I amwith you always, to the very end
of the age.
I am with you always, to thevery end of the age.
God has given us aresponsibility to know that he

(09:28):
is at the door and make othersaware of it too, that they may
come to him in true repentancefor salvation.
Christ is at the door, and hehas given enough time for us to
make our ways right before him.
And if we haven't, today is theday to make that step.

(09:48):
Let's pray, father, god, we comebefore you in Jesus name, and I
want to thank you for your loveand your mercy and for once
again speaking to our livesthrough your word.
You're an awesome, god, andyour love is unfailing.
Help us, lord, to love you andobey you, to bring forth each
and every command, god.
We as a nation need to come toyour feet, god, because we have

(10:11):
sinned and done wrong.
We have rebelled in so manyways and we have scorned your
commands and we have lost ourway.
You command us to love you andto love our neighbor as
ourselves, and instead we wallowin fear, not in faith, by
intentionally destroying eachother.
Forgive us, god, and renew aright spirit in us.

(10:33):
You have called us to reach thenation, lord, and yet we have
been blinded by a lot ofcircumstances and arrows of the
enemy, god.
We have let it get the best ofus and we have held back the
truth and held back what you cando through us, god.
And I ask you, god, today, thatyou break down every stronghold

(10:57):
of the enemy, that you free us,that you free every child that
belongs to you, so we can complywith you and, in your word,
bring forth the truth, soeveryone knows that the time is
running out, that you are at thedoor and you're soon going to
bring judgment, lord.
Help us, lord, to comply withyou.
Restore us in you Restore ourrelationships, restore our

(11:17):
relationships in our home, ourrelationships.
Restore our relationships inour home, god, and restore our
relationships in the church.
Lord, have mercy on us, bringus back God to the anointing,
the anointing that breaks theyoke, god, and that's what we
need.
Lord, help us bring forth yourword as it is and let us never
take away the truth, for thereis power in the truth, there's

(11:39):
liberation in the truth that wenever hide.
God, who you are, we are yourpeople, lord, forgive us, lift
us up, lord, renew our hearts, god, and help us, lord, always
to stand firm in your holiness, god, you are our healer, our
restore, our deliverer, and weseek mercy and forgiveness for
the sins, not only in our lives, but the sins of this nation.

(12:03):
God, we are your people and youhave called us by your name, god
, and that we comply with youfrom today on, in the name of
Jesus, that you might withholdyour wrath and heal our land.
In your mighty name, we ask andwe pray, declaring it is done
In Jesus' name, amen.
I pray that this word has beena blessing to your life and that

(12:26):
you may never forget that theLord is not slow in keeping his
promises, but he is slow toanger, patiently waiting for you
to come to him in truerepentance and to be transformed
by his mighty power.
He does not want anyone toperish and he is waiting for you
, for he has come to save allwho have been lost, and he is

(12:50):
waiting with open arms for youto come to him in true
repentance and, if you have, then go forward as a disciple,
preaching the truth to all thenations, so they know there is a
powerful God waiting for them.
In the name of Jesus, untilnext time, this is your host, jj

(13:10):
.
God bless you.
