Speaker 2 (00:24):
Hello everyone.
God bless you.
Welcome to another episode ofthe podcast Joy in this Journey
by Faithline.
I first want to wish you all ahappy new year and thank God he
got us through into another yearby his mercy, by his grace, by
his glory, by his power andauthority.
Here we are to continue goingforth another year in Jesus'
(00:44):
name.
I wanted to read a verse here inthe book of Exodus, chapter 14,
verse 15, one of my favoritestories, and it's right in the
name of the Father, the Son andthe Holy Spirit, amen.
And the Lord said unto MosesWherefore crieth thou unto me?
Speak unto the children ofIsrael that they go forth.
Praise god, hallelujah.
(01:06):
This is a story, um, if noone's not familiar with it maybe
some are, some aren't, which isfine, um of god's promise being
fulfilled.
God is the god of abraham, isaac and jacob.
God is a god of covenant, ofpromise.
When he speaks, so I come topass.
He does not lie nor makemistakes.
He is faithful in his words andhis promise of bringing his
(01:27):
people to the promised land wasgiven to abraham father, abraham
um, and then to his son, isaacand jacob, and then descendants.
Finally was left in israelwhere they stay for 400 years
and god finally wanted to takethem out after 400 something
years in Egypt, but at this timethey were slaves.
(01:47):
God lifts a man named Moses, which is very common knowledge
in the Bible.
If no one knows, a man namedMoses, god lifts up to use to
bring the people out of Egypt.
It was a struggle to get himout because the Pharaoh, the
king at the time of Egypt, wouldnot let the people of Israel go
.
He would not let and refuse, and God sent ten plagues until
(02:13):
finally the last plague was sostrong, killing the firstborn of
every person in Egypt, exceptfor the people of Israel that
died.
That softened the heart of thePharaoh, the king of Egypt, to
let people of Israel go andserve God.
And so we come to this pointwhere the people of God are
(02:35):
walking out of Egypt into thedesert where God will guide them
to this promised land we'vespoken of for many years.
And at this point point theyget stuck.
I say stuck, but not reallybecause god already spoke.
Um, if you read uh beginningverse of chapter 14, verses 1
(02:57):
through 4, it clearly states andshows god telling moses where
to bring the people, where thecamp, where to stay and what
he's going to to stay and whathe's going to do and how he's
going to do it.
He talks about how he's goingto harden the heart of Pharaoh
and as he comes back, he's goingto glorify himself with Pharaoh
.
From verses 5 to 9, it talksabout what God says is going to
(03:20):
happen.
God heartens Pharaoh's heart.
He rises up with his captainsand his chariots over 600 of
them and then he go after thepeople of Israel and horses and
chariots away faster thanwalking this human feet and legs
so they eventually catch up tothe Israelites.
(03:42):
And then verses 10 through 12,you see the fear of the people
of Israel knowing they want todie because Egyptians are mad
and angry at what has happenedto them and they cry out to God,
asking for help and tellingMoses, complaining to Moses why
did you bring us out of Egypt?
If you know we're going to die?
I don't judge them.
(04:02):
I understand because God speaks, speaks.
Many times we don't believe.
And then things happen whengod's going to speak and we
doubt and we worry and wequestion and we drown ourselves
in the problem instead ofbelieving what god has spoken um
, leading me to uh 13 and 14.
The verses 13 and 14, where, where Moses tries to encourage
(04:23):
the people hey, trust in God,stand still, you will see God's
today's glory and salvation ofyour life, which is very
impacting.
A man of God, moses, trying toencourage the people to believe.
But then, verse 15, which Iread, it's God saying to Moses
why are you crying unto me?
Speak unto the children ofIsrael that they go forward?
(04:45):
And that's what I want toemphasize today about going
forth.
We start a new year and I'm notsure how your last year was 2024
.
I'm not sure.
Not sure or do I know what youwent through, what happened?
Maybe some people during thenew year start to reflect and
have regrets of things theydidn't do, or things they did do
(05:06):
, or mistakes, or things theywanted to do and didn't do.
And sometimes many people inthe new year can be very sad,
unfortunately, because they tendto dwell in the past and things
that should have, would have, could have.
But I'm here to say whathappened has happened.
We can't change the past.
We can't change what happenedyesterday.
(05:28):
It already happened.
Yesterday is gone.
All we can focus on is rightnow and tomorrow.
We can believe what God hasspoken or we can doubt and
continue living in fear.
These Israelites were afraidfor their life, as I would say
most of us would be afraid of.
In that position where ourbacks are against the ocean, the
sea In front of us, there's awhole army of people angry,
(05:50):
wanting to kill you forvengeance.
What happened to the family?
But God speaks, and always Godspeaks on time.
And I wanted to emphasize forthis year that we go forth.
God has spoken already.
God made promises.
We've cried, we've cried, we'veprayed, we fasted and continue
doing that Please.
But we have to go forth inJesus' name.
(06:13):
This is the year.
We have to stand firm andbelieve what God has spoken.
The devil will do a good job.
He's doing a great job at doingit.
I don't know justify him orglorify Satan or adversary or
rebuking him in the power andauthority of Jesus name.
He's doing his job.
Great to bring doubt and fearand worry to many.
But we have to stand firm andbelieve what God has spoken and
(06:36):
what God has told us, to not beafraid to believe, to march
forth what he spoke, which Icome to pass.
We live in his last days withChrist and come at any moment.
I pray comes today, but whilewe still wait for him, we have
to work for him and lift upabove our circumstances, our
situations, and keep our eyes onChrist, on the price that we go
forth.
(06:56):
Go forth, god said to Moses whydo you cry unto me?
Why you encourage the people?
I already told you what wasgoing to happen.
I told you how it's going tohappen and it it's happened.
Now next step is to believe inme and go forth.
So, my brothers, my sisters andfriends who are listening today
, we must go forth in Jesus'name, no matter how hard it may
look or difficult.
Don't tell God how big yourproblems is, but tell your
(07:20):
problems how big your God is.
I love that.
I heard that somewhere and it'sso true.
We sometimes think God can't dothis.
It's this problem, it's too big, it's too much.
And we're telling the almightyGod how big our problem is and
he's like that's nothing for me,there's nothing impossible for
him, the way he did in your lifeyesterday and the day before,
and he took you out of thoseother battles and situations and
(07:42):
circumstances and brought youforth.
He will do it again.
Use that as encouragement, ifanything else, to remember where
God brought you from, what Goddid, how he supplied, how he
healed, how he delivered, how hechanged, how he provided for
you in your circumstances andsituations.
Back then he'll do it again, but you have to go forth.
We can't get stuck in this timethat we're living.
(08:04):
We can't live a mediocre, uhchristian life and be
comfortable.
I went to church today, I readthe bible today and now I can
take it easy.
No, on the contrary, we mustincrease our time, our intimacy
with the lord more time readinghis word, getting to know him
more, that he continue workingin us in this areas in our lives
that need to be changed andtransformed.
Um, we need to spend less timeand I tell it for me, I'm
(08:27):
preaching to the choir here lesstime on the phone, less time
with entertainment devices andpersonal things, and make God a
priority, make Him number one.
If you're already doing thesethings and seeking God, amen,
multiply it now.
You don't lose in seeking God'spresence, getting to feel more
of His Spirit, more of his glory, and the contrary.
You're getting more blessed andmore transformed and changed.
(08:50):
Why not get more of God, more inprayer?
It's possible.
There's nothing difficult forthe Lord.
Yes, sometimes there's a hasslewhen you want to pray and you
get tired, you get attacks, youget sleepy when you want to read
the Bible, you want to fast.
But you have to press forth.
We have to move forward.
Why do you cry unto me, moses?
Speak unto intrusion that theygo forth.
(09:11):
So this year let's go forth inGod.
Let's go forth in him with agrateful heart, a gratitude
knowing what he's done for us inthe past, he'll do it again.
Let's trust in him with ourwhole hearts.
I don't believe in New Year'sresolution.
I used to.
I was seditious, many peopledid and I followed ignorantly
(09:32):
and those who do a each his own.
I don't condone it.
What I do is I say this is theplan every year in less
distractions.
Every year, more of christ andless distractions.
And I know for me personally, Ihave to do less distraction,
more god.
I have to go more forth, goforth more in the lord.
Playtime's over and we have tomature ourselves in God.
Don't be mediocre.
We are filled with potential, but our potential will never be
fulfilled if we don't do ourpart.
God has spoken and the plan andpurpose he has for our lives.
(09:55):
He wants to do it.
God is impossible.
He can do anything, but it's inus to allow him.
He's a gentleman.
We have to open our hearts tohim and allow him to do whatever
he wants to do, even when ithurts and even when it makes no
sense and even we think he'swrong.
Let him do what he needs to do.
But we have to move forth inhim that he may complete and
(10:15):
fulfill all his works that he'sspoken of years ago in our lives
.
So we must go forth.
He's the God of Abraham, isaacand Jacob, god of covenant, of
promise.
He's faithful to do his part.
We must do our part and behonest and sincere when we come,
when we go to him, he knows usalready before we know ourselves
.
This area of our lives that wedon't even know, that I don't
(10:36):
even know of myself, but as Iread his word, as I pray and I'm
more sincere guy shows me thisis wrong, roy, this is not right
.
I don't like this.
And he starts adjusting andchanging and transforming me to
his image and to his glory, which we were made for.
And so, brothers and sisters, let us go forth today, no matter
what confronts you tomorrow ortoday, what you might see, what
(10:59):
you think is difficult it mightbe.
I'm not undermining thesituation you're in right now.
All I'm trying to say is thatwe can go forth, not with our
strength, not with ourintelligence, not with our
abilities, but in Christ.
If you believe it, all thingsare possible through Christ.
That strengthened us.
Paul said it clearly and he's agreat example.
He went through much things, many things, but he knew it was
(11:19):
only in Jesus Christ that we'reable to go through these things
and press forth when the trialsand the tribulations and dark
moments come.
We can get through it in christ.
We have two options.
We can sit there and complainand make excuses, and that's
only going to lead us into aplace where it can cost us our
salvation honestly, which isnothing, something I don't want
(11:40):
to gamble with or we can rise upand go forth with christ, with
his strength, because his spiritis there for us, to help us and
encourage us.
It's in us to make thatdecision.
We're not forced.
We have free will in this world, but our actions will determine
where we end up.
Christ paid the highest pricefor our salvation.
We now have to hold on to hispromises and believe, stand firm
(12:02):
, for our salvation is ahead ofus and it's soon to come, our
Lord and Savior, jesus Christ.
So let us go forth in Jesusname.
No matter what you're goingthrough, no matter what you see,
hear or feel, it's real ordon't look under undermining the
attacks of the enemy.
I rebuke him in Jesus name.
The attacks are real and it'sgoing to get harder, it won't
(12:25):
get easier, but we must go forthas soldiers in Christ.
We must march forth no matterthe danger.
You see the situation.
God is there and he's waitingfor you to stand firm and go
forth, believing what he saidalready.
Let us not doubt him no more.
Let us not think twice of whathe said.
(12:46):
Let's stand firm and believe inhis promises, in his word.
Read god's word.
It's the most amazing thing isword.
When you sit down and reallyallow the lord, through his holy
spirit, to minister to yourlife, whether it be old
testament, new testament.
He will speak to you, he willcomfort you, he will guide you,
he will correct.
He will comfort you, he willguide you, he will correct you,
he will let you know what'sright and wrong and he will
(13:09):
guide you.
God is faithful to do it, ifyou allow him.
So let's spend less time on usin the sense of this world,
things of this world, thatdoesn't go anywhere.
Let's spend more time in Christ, more time in the Lord where we
benefit and gain eternal glory.
Time in Christ, more time inthe Lord where we benefit and
(13:29):
gain eternal glory.
I wanted to finish off with averse that connects to Exodus.
It's found in Philippians 3, 13.
Apostle Paul says it Breathingsbrothers, I count not myself to
have apprehended it, but thisone thing I do forgetting those
things which are behind andreaching forth unto those things
which are before.
I press toward the mark for theprize of the high calling of
(13:53):
god in christ jesus.
Another example of paul, pastorpaul, he was had great fame,
fortune, power and authorityuntil he encountered jesus
christ and he bent so much hegot used and powerful in the
ministry and he's a greatexample.
I know he said I don't pretendI've made it.
I have my own struggles andbattles, but one thing I'm doing
(14:13):
I'm forgetting what happened inthe past, because the past
doesn't do anything.
I can't look back, and many ofus look back and the past is
holding us.
Oh, I did, I did this mistake.
Oh, I did this wrong.
God knows, god sees, he'sforgiven you already.
You have to forgive yourself.
Allow God to heal you in thatarea.
Heal you in working it.
You may go forth, because theonly thing that lays ahead of us
(14:35):
, it will happen to go forth.
The past may be a good exampleof where God brought you, from
what he's done, the victorieshe's brought through your life
in the past yes, use those, butdon't let the past hinder you
from your future, from yourblessing.
When God has spoken, we must goforth, we must press.
There is a calling upon ourlives, every one of us, and only
(14:56):
as we fulfill it we press forth.
And God is there to help us.
If you feel weak, if you feeltired, if you feel upset, if you
feel sad, if you feel you'renot capable of doing it, these
emotions sometimes can try toaffect us, and I'm not saying
they're not real, but what we dowith that is that we bring it
to God and lay it at his feet.
God, I'm feeling this way today.
God, I'm feeling this way today.
(15:16):
God, I'm bothered, and he isthere to help us to go forth.
He will deal with you andchange you and heal you and work
in you and transform you forhis glory.
He's our best friend.
He's our heavenly father.
He's for us, not against us.
So let us go to him when wefeel these ways.
Not to man, but go to God.
He's there to help us.
(15:36):
But let's press forth.
What are you feeling?
Hey, you are about to feel thisfeeling.
Okay.
But now where are we going fromthere?
We're going to stay stuck andbe mediocre and, oh, I'm not
going forth because this brotheror this sister, or this person,
family or friend or work orstudent classmate that hurt me
and I'm sad, or I don't want togo forth, or we can make the
(15:58):
better decision I'm going.
I'm getting up.
Yes, it hurts, I'm tired, Idon't feel good, whatever the
situation may be that you'rehaving this moment, but I make a
decision I'm going forth inJesus name.
If you go back and you continuereading Exodus, god opened the
Red Sea, which is one of themost miraculous miracles in the
Bible of God parting the Red Seaand the Israelites walking on
(16:22):
dry ground.
It's powerful.
If you believe what God did.
It's the same God we servetoday.
He can move mountains for you.
The matter of circumstance orthe situation, it's nothing hard
for the Lord.
All he asks is for your faith.
All he asks is for our faith.
Let me correct Our faith andour obedience to him.
And he's able to do anything.
(16:42):
Let us not limit him, limit himwith our faith, our doubt.
Let's trust and have a faithbig enough to say you know what,
lord, I don't understand, Idon't see, but you've spoken and
I'm going to stand forth onyour word and I'm going forward
on your word, knowing that thisyear you shall fulfill your
promises and plans in my life.
And I'm going to go forward andI'm going to get closer to you.
(17:02):
I'm going to go more intimatewith you, no matter what I'm
going through at this moment.
I choose and decide to go forth.
I choose and decide.
This is not going to define mylife or it's not going to define
who I am.
I am pressing forth in Jesus'name.
So, brothers and sisters, Iwish you a happy new year and
pray that this year brings ablessing over your life.
(17:23):
Yes, circumstances andsituations will come.
I'm not going to say this isgoing to be easy road, as the
podcast is called Joy in theJourney.
In this journey, even though wemight go through something or
we're going through something,we can have joy and strength,
knowing that the Lord, the GodAlmighty.
He loves us and that is ourstrength to go forth.
Love's unconditional.
He's there for us, to help usand press forth in this journey
(17:46):
to, above all, make it toeternal life with him.
An eternal weight of glory inheaven, an eternal life with him
.
That's the end goal to make itto heaven.
And we fight and we press andwe strive to enter in the
kingdom of heaven.
And as we're here on this earth, we do his work, we do his will
and he, we do everything.
He's spoken of our lives.
I promise you, I come to passin Jesus' name.
(18:07):
I believe it and I thank Godfor his word today that he's
ministered to our lives.
Let us go forth, brothers andsisters, in the name of Jesus,
father, I want to come beforeyou.
I want to thank you for yourword.
Thank you, father God, for yourfaithfulness and grace, because
your word is faithful and trueand that you are capable of the
more than I actually imagine.
I pray for every one of us,father God, that are going
(18:27):
through whatever we're goingthrough in this moment.
My Lord, this new year, wetrust in you.
This new year, we believe in youthat you shall do, father God,
that you give us the strength topress forth.
You give us, my Lord praise, more of your glory, your
presence, of your power, of yourspirit, to let go of the past,
let go of what happenedbeforehand.
Even today, what happened, father God, we let go of it in
(18:47):
Jesus' name and we declare thatwe shall go forth, father God,
in you, with you, helping us,holding us by hand if necessary,
carrying us at certain times, father God, but we won't let go
of your promises and your word, because you're faithful, you
don't lie, you don't makemistakes, you are calculated and
specific and detailed in everysituation that you spoke should
(19:08):
come to pass.
Give us your strength andcreate your faith in us to press
forth, father God, and we trustin you.
We believe that you are capableof the more than we ask For.
It's in Jesus' name we prayAmen.
Amen.
Brothers and sisters, friendsand family, I pray this word be
encouragement to you all andthat this year brings nothing
but the best for you.
In the name of Jesus Christ, let us press forth.
(19:29):
In Jesus' name, god bless andall the glory be to Him.
