Speaker 2 (00:24):
God bless you all and
welcome back to another episode
of Join this Journey byFaithline.
I ask that all of you can joinme by opening your Bibles in
Isaiah 55, verse 10 to 11.
And we shall read the word ofthe Lord, in the name of the
(00:51):
Father, the Son and His HolySpirit Amen.
For as the rain cometh down andthe snow from heaven and
returneth not the earth butwatereth the earth and maketh it
bring forth bud that it maygive seed to the sower and bread
to the eater, so shall my wordbe that goeth forth out my mouth
.
It should not return unto mevoid, but it shall accomplish
(01:14):
that which I please and shallprosper in the thing where to I
sent it.
Amen.
Now this word, god has sent us aword and it might be different
for everyone a call, a word, apromise.
But every word, every call, every promise, there is an
(01:36):
assurance that it shall beaccomplished and it shall
prosper.
But unfortunately, every timeGod sends a word or a promise or
a call to someone or tosomebody, there's always a
battle, because the enemydoesn't want to see that work of
God to prosper in our lives andin our families and friends.
(02:01):
And a lot of times we sendsomeone, even our own weaknesses
, to take advantage of us and totry to kill us, bind us and
destroy us, because he doesn'twant God's word to become a
(02:23):
fulfillment.
And even if the enemy tries, hecan't win, because when God
sends a call, a promise or aword, it shall not come to him
in void, but it shall accomplishand it shall prosper.
And the Lord guided me to twoexamples in the Bible, which are
(02:46):
Peter and David.
Peter, who was called Simon andwas a fisherman, was called by
Jesus to become a fisher of menand later Jesus revealed to him
his plan and purpose withPeter's life to become a rock of
(03:07):
the church, the gospel, and hechanged his name from Simon to
Peter, which means rock.
And around the time of the LastSupper, jesus revealed to Peter
that the enemy had plansagainst him to sift him as meat,
(03:27):
and that means that the enemywas planning to isolate him from
the importance God hadestablished him by trying to
bring him to a place of guiltand hurt.
(03:49):
And Jesus told Peter that hewould deny him three times.
And when Jesus brought him andsome other disciples with him to
the garden to pray before Jesuswas arrested, peter didn't pray
(04:12):
as Jesus asked him to, ratherhe slept.
And so when the soldiers, thehigh priest and their servants
came with Judas and found Jesusin the garden to arrest him,
unfortunately he smote the yearof one of the high priest's
servants.
And initially that was not inGod's perfect plan will to
(04:40):
happen, but because Peter slept,he wasn't filled with God's
discernment, with God's wisdom, not to do that with God's wisdom
, not to do that because it wasin God's will for Jesus to go
(05:00):
through each process that he hadto go to before he was
crucified on the cross but thenresurrected on the third day.
And so after this, and Jesuswas brought to the Minimor's
choir and they wereinterrogating him, peter found
himself that he ended up denyingChrist three times by different
(05:26):
people who questioned him if hewas, you know, a disciple or
one of the followers, if he was,you know, a disciple or one of
the followers.
Um, and he was devastated thathe ended up denying christ
(05:46):
because he thought that hewouldn't do that because he
loved christ.
(06:16):
But unfortunately he was broughtto that stage and after Jesus
resurrected, he startedappearing again to his disciples
and guiding few of thedisciples and Peter found
himself fishing, like the firsttime he met Jesus.
And when they went fishing thatnight they couldn't fish not
even one fish.
It didn't go well.
And in the morning Jesusappeared unto them they were and
were at the time and he toldthem to fish again.
(06:39):
And after they fished again, they found their nets to be full
of fish and one of thedisciples told Peter that was
Jesus.
You know, that's Jesus tellingus to bring our nets into the
water.
And Peter at the time was nakedand he covered himself.
(07:07):
And the Lord helped me tounderstand that, not to focus on
the fact that he was naked, butto use that to symbolize that
Peter was ashamed, so he coveredhimself Because he was made
aware that Jesus was there.
He was ashamed, he felt guilty, and Jesus had a personal
(07:31):
encounter with him to break thatguilt and that shame.
Because that was what theenemy's plan to destroy him, to
isolate him from God's perfectwill and plan over Peter's life.
And so Jesus helped Peterbecause Jesus can't force us to
(07:58):
do anything but helped him toconfess Jesus three times,
rather than deny him, whichwould bring Peter to the point
of following him, as Jesus toldhim.
And Jesus told Peter to feedhis lambs, to tend and feed his
(08:20):
sheep, and by Acts, chapter 1,and Jesus gave instructions to
his disciples and his followersto pray, we see that God began
to use Peter as the leader ofthe church, to guide and to tend
(08:40):
, and that's where God's wordbecame a fulfillment.
Although there was a battle, jesus was able to stand up,
fight, intercede for Peter'slife so that the gospel, the
church, could be established.
(09:01):
And the other person, david.
David was a shepherd boy and hewas anointed to be king over
Israel, and Saul was the currentking at that time, and the
Spirit of God departed from him.
So that's when the Lordrevealed to Samuel that he
needed to go anoint another kingfor Israel.
(09:26):
And later on David began toplay the harp for Saul, so
whatever tormented him could becalmed, because when David
played, he played with ananointing with the Spirit of God
(09:47):
.
Soon later, saul realized thatDavid was anointed to God and
the spirit of God was upon himand he, you know, put two and
two together and realized thatDavid might be the new, new king
to go over Israel, and he beganto plan to kill David's life.
(10:14):
But Jonathan, the son of Saul, who was one of David's bestest
friends or brothers, he revealedto David the plan his father
had against him and advisedDavid to run.
And after Saul made countlessthreats, david ran and he ran to
(10:43):
Samuel.
And then, after like, he ran toSamuel and there the Lord
glorified himself, preventingthose that saw a sign and even
saw to kill him.
So David continued running andhe ran to Amalek, one of the
(11:07):
high priests, and from thereDavid kept running wherever the
Spirit would lead him.
Through that, and when we readmany of the Psalms, david
maintained his prayer, hiscommunication with the Lord,
even though he was in distressand feared for his life.
Through all that process hemaintained his communication
(11:30):
with the Lord and allowed theLord to guide him and he was
able to be filled with assurance, protection, guidance and
discernment.
Through the Spirit, and becauseDavid remained humbled and kept
(11:53):
his peace and not left at allto the Lord to fight, saul did
die.
Saul was killed, but after thatone of Saul's sons was
appointed by one of Saul'scaptains, abner, to be king over
(12:14):
Israel, and of course thatprevented David from becoming
the king over Israel, althoughat that time he was already
reigning over Judah.
But in all that he kept hispeace and remained humble and
they both were eventually killedthe captain and Saul's son,
(12:39):
ashpen I don't know how topronounce his name, but they
were both eventually killed, andthey were not by David, by
other people whom God judged himafter.
By chapter 5 of the second bookof Samuel, david was able to
become king.
(13:00):
There's many other examples inthe Bible of God sending out a
word to the people of Israel andEgypt that they were going to
come out.
There was a battle for them tocome out, but God still
fulfilled his promise.
Just many other parts of theBible where God sent out a word,
a promise, a call and hispeople unto our souls and to our
(13:25):
lives and he, though there wasa battle, god still fulfilled
his word and his call, like theportion we read earlier, because
any word that God sent shallnot come to God in void.
So, although we might not wantthat word, although there's
(13:47):
oppositions, although we haveweakness, although the enemy
comes against it, the Lord willstill complete his work Because
when he sends out that word, itshall be accomplished.
And God knows all things, hehas power and God has the last
(14:08):
say.
And if we reflect over Peterand David, they both had a call,
a word, a promise over theirlives and it was a battle
against it, against God's will, over their life.
(14:31):
And one of the major differencesbetween Peter and Nick is that
Peter had a lot of pride, pridethat you know that what happened
to him, that you know he lovedJesus enough that it would not.
But God proved to him that itdid.
(14:51):
And if you know he would haveconsidered Jesus' words to watch
and pray in that garden.
Maybe the outcome could havebeen differently, but even still
, jesus glorified himself in hislife and helped Peter to
(15:18):
glorified himself in his lifeand helped Peter to um, and he
restored Peter and strengthenedPeter to become the leader of
the gospel.
Yes, you know, he didn't haveto, didn't have to be Peter, but
God allowed each and every oneof us to be born on this earth
with a plan and a purpose.
And that was his plan withPeter, because he already gave
Peter everything.
You know the personality, theway of seeing things, you know
(15:42):
the way he was.
God already established all ofthat.
So it was God's planning.
God's perfect will is always toallow his plan to come to pass
in our lives.
(16:03):
And when we see David, david washumbled and he left it to God
to do.
He didn't come in the way andtry to kill Saul on his own,
even though he was tempted andpeople told him you know, just
kill Saul yourself, you have thegetaway to do it.
Told him, you know, just killSaul yourself, you have the
getaway to do it.
But David remained firm anddecided to trust God instead of
his own desires, because he knewthat Saul, even though the
(16:26):
spirit, was not a part of him,but still one of God's anointed,
and that it wasn't great forhim to have Saul's blood in his
hands.
So, at the end of the day, godsends His word and it's our job
to, even though there's a battle, to seek God and remain firm in
(16:50):
Him.
And yes, it's hard, yes it'sdifficult, but it's not
impossible.
And God didn't make a mistakewith the word he sent out and
although right now it might seemimpossible, but that the battle
is too difficult for theprocess, but God will still
(17:10):
complete His word because he'sGod and his word says that
there's nothing impossible forGod.
God is the God of theimpossible and whatever word
that he has sent out shall be,shall come into fulfillment for
his glory and for his honor.
And many of us the Lord hascalled us to, you know, repent
(17:35):
and serve Him and sometimes justbattle us for that.
But the Lord has all power andhe can do all things.
Christ strengthens us.
So just remember that the wordthat goes forth out of God's
mouth shall not return to him invoid, but it shall accomplish
(17:56):
that which he pleases and itshall prosper in the thing where
he sent it to the glory.
be to God, and I hope you areblessed.
This is Sister Esther, and Godbless you all.
