Speaker 2 (00:23):
Hello everyone and welcome back to this new episode
of the podcast Joy.
In this Journey by Faithline.
Today I will be sharingsomething that has been
ministering my life for the pastfew weeks, and I hope that
through these Bible verses andthese words, your lives will
also be ministered and touchedby the Holy Spirit.

(00:44):
Join me in reading Ephesians 6,verse 12.
We read in the name of theFather, the Son and the Holy
Spirit Amen, for we do notwrestle against flesh and blood,
but against principalities, against powers, against the
rulers of the darkness of thisage, against spiritual hosts of

(01:06):
wickedness in the heavenlyplaces.
In the chapter of the book ofEphesians, paul tells the church
that the battles they face arenot against flesh and blood.
The battle we face today andthat the believers in the church
of Ephesians faced was real butwas spiritual.

(01:28):
It is not against people, butagainst powers, against rulers
of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of evil
in the heavenly places.
By reading this andunderstanding who we're fighting
against and the seriousness ofthe struggles and the battles we

(01:50):
have, we can feel some sort ofcomfort in knowing that what
we're going through is notexaggerated.
But also this verse reveals tous that we're fighting against
great powers.
If we come to focus on theirranks and the type of language
that is used to describe thosewho we fight against, we can

(02:13):
even come to question thechances we have of winning,
which can sometimes even lead tofear.
Yet before God revealed to thechurch of Ephesians who their
battle was against, heencouraged them to strengthen
themselves in the Lord, understanding that, just as

(02:33):
their fight was not againstflesh and blood, the strength
they needed to be able tocontinue in the battle could not
come from flesh either.
He tells them in verse 11 toput on the full armor of God so
that they can remain firm in thefight they face and that we
face today.
The truth is that, even thoughwe fight against great powers of

(02:58):
evil in the heavenly places, our weapons are not of the flesh
either.
Second corinthians 10 4 saysthat our armor is not of the
flesh but is powerful in god forpulling down strongholds,
knowing that, above everything, our victory is secure because we
serve the creator of all things.

(03:21):
Colossians 1.16 says through himand for him, all dominion and
all power were created by him,for him and through him, no

(03:50):
power, no principality, no rulerof darkness can go against our
God.
Deuteronomy 10 17 says For theLord, your God, is God of gods,
lord of lords, the great God,mighty and awesome, who shows no

(04:10):
partiality nor takes a bribe.
Jesus already won the battle, triumphing over all power and,
above all, the rulers ofdarkness, just like it says in
Colossians 2, verses 14 to 15.
Having wiped out all thehandwriting of requirements that

(04:30):
was against us, which wascontrary to us, and he has taken
it out of the way, havingnailed it into the cross, having
disarmed principalities andpowers, he made a public
spectacle of them triumphantover them in it and in ephesians

(04:53):
1, verses 20 to 21, which sayswhich he worked in christ when
he raised him from the dead andseated him at his right hand in
the heavenly places, far aboveall principality and power and
might and dominion and everyname that is named, not only in

(05:16):
this age but also in that whichis to come.
Not only has Jesus alreadyovercome and won the battle for
us receiving name above allnames, but he has given us the
power so that we can remainstrong and firm through any

(05:39):
struggle we face.
In this same book of the book ofEphesians, in chapter 1, on
verse 22, it says that he putall things under his feet and it
gave him to be head over allthings to the church, and a
little later, in chapter 2,verse 6, tells us that he seated

(06:01):
us together with him in theheavenly places, giving us
everything we need to be able toconquer to the end.
This is why, on severaloccasions, through different
letters, paul, inspired by God,points out the importance of
understanding and living knowingthe hope we have in God too,

(06:25):
and how important it is to knowand use the weapons, blessings
and benefits that we have inChrist.
To this same church ofEphesians, he tells them that,
having heard of their faith inGod, he had an assist of praying
for them so that God will givethem the knowledge of himself,

(06:46):
so that they will come tounderstand what was the hope
they were called to and theriches of the glory of the
inheritance that they hadreceived.
He also says something similarto the church of Colossians,
giving them and telling us theimportance of knowing and

(07:07):
understanding what Jesus did onthe cross and what that means
for us.
In our walk with Christ.
The enemy cannot destroy us.
He has no power over us, havingJesus already won over him on
the cross.
Yet he tries to intimidate us,to make our time here on earth

(07:28):
useless and unproductive, and hedoes this through temptation,
sin, insecurity, fear anddiscouragement, but above all
the struggles, attacks andbattles that we may face.
We can be sure that through him, with the help of his Holy

(07:49):
Spirit, we can overcome byremaining firm.
God has given us his armor andhas seated us with him in
heavenly places, and even thoughour battle is not against flesh
and blood but against evilpowers, jesus has all the power

(08:10):
and authority over them.
I hope this has been edifyingto your lives, as it has been to
mine.
